Overall enjoyed. I liked vadim more than Isobel because he was more fluid and didn’t fight his feelings.

Vadim and Isobel once were together. A father breaks them apart and tries to destroy a career. Only for Vadim to work harder to prove himself but never get over Isobel. When he ends up on her hockey team things change for them. Vadim isn’t the young man who is pushed around but one who is very much Alpha and in charge.

Isobel is having a hard time finding her place. She is working with her sisters to keep the hockey team their dad left them under conditions to be met. She is trying to deal with a career ending injury and still trying to meet expectations of her dad and her out of control feelings for Vadim.

Vadim has alot going on. He is working with Isobel, who he has some insane chemistry with, to get back on the ice. He is getting to know his sister and deal with his feelings over Isobel. At the same time he is defending Isobel to idiots on his team. His attraction to Isobel doesn’t wane only intensifies with time. He is determined to have her but she does fight him.

Isobel is learning more about Vadim and who he is while falling for him and dealing with the pressures she is feeling. She doesn’t like all his decisions and does do some stupid things and say stupid things out of anger but so glad her sister’s whip her into shape. She also helps Vadim realize his life needs to has his past pains dealt with and find out the truth. He faces the past and comes out stronger in the end.

The story is one of give and take. With insane chemistry and sexy moments. But one of growth as well. Vadim learns to listen more and let go of past pain. Isobel learns that love will have you protect someone even against themselves and even if it means you lose the person. She finds her way to where she belong and finds love at the same time. A great addition to the series. Look forward to Violet’s story.

#Swoon! Swoon worth hero? Check. Strong independent heroine? Check. Major attitude and animosity? Check. Being totally in denial of your feelings? Oh yeah! Isobel and Vadim were so hot and sizzling together. Their animosity and heat towards one another was off the charts and I loved being totally absorbed into it all. The conflict between them made for the best one liners, great verbal sparing and sizzling chemistry. So many great moments between them and I couldn’t get enough. I love the back and forth and tension. And when they explode they explode! Kate Meader really brings the sexy time scenes.
I really loved this storyline and the writing. Loved the feel, the pace, and all the details. I loved getting to see other characters from the previous story as well. Get ready for some serious fun, a whole lot of sparing and off the charts sexy in this incredibly entertaining story. Don’t miss it!

This is book two in a series about three sisters who inherit a hockey team. I really enjoyed book one and reviewed it earlier this year. Isobel is the middle sister and this is her time to shine and find love. Isobel was the favorite daughter and grew up playing hockey. In the game where she made her debut as a professional hockey player, she suffered a very serious head injury. Her injury was so severe that she is sidelined from actually playing hockey because another head injury could be life threatening. After her recovery, she’s been a little bit lost on where she fits in the world. She is now working as a consultant/coach for the team that she and her sisters own.

Vadim Petrov is a Russian hockey player and a new addition to the Chicago Rebels team with a recently injured knee. As part of his conditioning to get ready to play again he starts working out with Isobel. He isn’t happy about this because they have a history. Queue the drama

Back in the day, Vadim and Isobel were at a training camp together and they had a fling. They were in their late teens. Vadim was the first guy Isobel had sex with and he left her hanging and she didn’t orgasm. She’s never forgotten about that bad sexual encounter and at the time he didn’t know he left her unsatisfied. Vadim is know as the Czar of Pleasure so once he finds out he left Isobel hanging, he is determined to give her the good sex. But of course they work together and Isobel is trying to prove herself as a serious coach, so that presents an issue. But of course is this romance, so we know that they figure it out.

But the journey to getting to the figuring it out takes some time. At first Isobel is determined to not fall for him. She puts up a good fight, but eventually decides to stop fighting the attraction and connection she has with Vadim. There first sex scene was pretty darn hot as Vadim was super focused on Isobel’s pleasure. After that, he denies himself P in V sex with her and attempts to single handedly handle his business in the bathroom, but Isobel finds him and is amused by it.
“You were going to go solo with this?” Amusement tinged her voice. It was no laughing matter! Irked at her teasing, he foisted the blame back on her. “I had given you all the pleasure you could handle tonight, kroshka.” She cocked an eyebrow. “I think we’ve determined that I can take anything you dole out, baby.” Perhaps, but he would not inflict his insatiable demands on her. “You fell asleep in my arms, Bella. It seemed rude to just take you while you were sleeping.” She stared at him in amazement, then stepped in and placed a hand on his chest. “You spent hours giving me orgasm after orgasm after—” “Orgasm?” he offered. She pressed her body to his, and his cock jutted into her belly, a streak of liquid pleasure marking her warm skin.

Isobel and Vadim have unresolved feelings from when they were younger. They hit a few bumps in the road and make some bad decisions regarding their individual and joint futures. But the conflict wasn’t too over done. It was the appropriate amount of conflict and they were able to resolve it like grown ups.

I enjoyed this second chance at love story. Add in a man determined to give his lady the pleasure he failed to give her before lead to some super hot moments. I also enjoy the Isobel’s sisters and Vadim’s family. We meet all three sisters in book one and we see them here too. Vadim is working through some issues with his family, but it wasn’t something that took away from the main story. Meader does a great job planting the seeds of interest for the next books in the series. I definitely look forward to reading the next book in the series. Meader writes fast-paced stories and she is quickly becoming one of my go to authors.

The Chicago Rebels are back and with a new addition with Vadim Petrov. Kaye Meader’s Chicago Rebels Series is a must read. Each book has such a unique perspective that you feel as though you are on the ice with the team and that you are part of the Chase sisters. Isobel and Vadim’s story will have them both facing things that they aren’t ready to face but together the might be able to get through it. If you are looking for a new hockey romance than you need to add this series to your TBR list today!

Isobel has her chance to make it as a woman hockey player but in one night, her dream was taken from her. Now with her 2 sisters they are trying to keep their legacy alive by holding onto the Rebels. To do that Isobel will be faced with her first love Vadim. She needs to get him back into shape so that he can help the Rebels. But can she put aside old feelings and work with him?

Vadim can’t believe that Isobel is back in his life. The girl whom he was falling for is back and is suppose to coach him but he doesn’t like it one bit. Every moment they are together he is reminded of what could have been and knows that he shouldn’t be tempted to start something with her but he can’t resist.

What was only suppose to be a one time thing, is not enough for either of them. And as they try to figure out what to do, they both will be forced to face individual challenges. But are they willing to trust each other with those decisions? Or will they let those decisions pull them apart and change all they are beginning to love?

This is the second book I've read in this series. It focuses more on Isobel, the father's favorite of the sisters. It is a fun story to read. The story could be read as a stand-alone, but it's best read after reading book 1. Can't wait to read Violet's book.

Kate Meader has been a reliable source of sexy contemporary romances, having written about chefs, firefighters, and now hockey players taking center ice. The Chicago Rebels series, all standalone romances but with a continuing background story arc, details a struggling NHL franchise and their make-or-break year. Having thoroughly enjoyed book one, Irresistible You, and the prequel novella In Skates Trouble, I can now add So Over You to the list of recommended reads. It's an entertaining second chance romance featuring a talented female hockey player now turned coach due to fateful circumstances, and the man whose reputation in the bedroom equals that of his time on the ice – except with her.

The Chicago Rebels hockey team has been left to the care of three half-sisters - Harper, Isobel and Violet - after their philandering father passed away. He's left specific instructions in his will – they must work together and ensure the team makes it to the playoffs this year or it will be sold off to the highest bidder. In order to do so, they've made deals to add players to their roster, including Russian hockey star Vadim Petrov. An injury has left him sidelined, and thus vulnerable to trade. But that's not the only thing he's vulnerable about.

Isobel had her thirty-seven minutes of fame in the women's national hockey league after years of hard work and sacrifices, only to see her dreams go down the drain when a head slash from a hockey skate  left her bleeding on the ice. Despite making a full recovery, doctors have warned her that any kind of fall could result in permanent brain damage, so, resigned to her fate, she's taken to coaching instead. When she finds out she'll be giving Vadim some one-on-one lessons to help with his rehabilitation, she knows she can deal with him professionally. But personally? That's another matter.

Back when she was an impressionable teenager, she and Vadim had been involved in a love affair that resulted in his taking her virginity, but sadly not impressing her otherwise. She'd never told him that he'd failed in the satisfaction department because her father caught them together, and, worried that Vadim would derail his own plans for Isobel, had Vadim exiled from the US. It delayed Vadim's own NHL career by several years and left him with a bitter taste when thinking of the girl who'd stolen his heart, then effectively ruined his life. Now they have to work together with a common goal in mind for the good of the team. When Vadim hears second-hand that he left Isobel hanging, he's horrified, especially given his current reputation as the 'Czar of Pleasure'. Discovering that it was Isobel's father who was responsible for his exile and not Isobel herself, his feelings of betrayal are replaced with the need to recapture what they first had – and to make up for his failure to rock her world. But with the success of the team and Isobel's career on the line, will rekindling their relationship come at too great a cost?

The backstory of Isobel and Vadim makes for a great setup, as they have to deal with each other after several years apart, and under quite different circumstances. While they may say that they have put the past behind them, it's still there as the elephant in the room until they address it. The scene where Vadim discovers that he didn't satisfy Isobel in bed is quite funny and sets his resolve to turn things around. It also brings up the very real complications that will occur if they get involved again. Isobel's reputation as a coach is the only thing she has going for her now, and a relationship with a player, no matter that they were together in the past, could damage her job prospects with the Rebels (despite being part owner, she's only been hired as a temporary coach) and could also affect any future coaching jobs with other teams. Vadim wishes to make amends to Isabel, but knows that ultimately the choice will be hers. He's pretty persuasive though, and while they are able to keep things secret for a while (because these things always come out), they share some pretty intense and sexy scenes.

Isobel's character is my favorite in this story. She's the one who is the most affected by her father's death and carries a lot of guilt because she knows that he treated her much better than her two half siblings. Harper was discarded once Isobel came along, and Violet was the product of an adulterous affair their father had when married to his second wife, Isobel's mother. The relationship between Isobel and Violet is a key part of the story, especially because Violet and Isobel have both had life threatening health concerns that bond them together. Early in the story, a chance comes up for Isobel to revive her hockey career, a dream that she's put aside but not forgotten. This directly impacts her relationship with Violet, and with Vadim. Isobel must weigh her choices against the possible consequences, not just for her, but for those she loves.

Vadim is also a man with flaws. At certain times he comes across as a bit of a caricature of a Russian man, although this could be due to the way the author chooses to express his English language skills, which are somewhat stilted and formal. But then at other times, and certainly later on in the story, he appears more well-rounded. He has his own family complications – a deceased father (like Isobel), a mother who abandoned him as a child, and a sister he adores whom he's gotten to know only recently. Equal time is spent devoted to his family issues as to Isobel’s. He's protective, defensive, stubborn, and arrogant. He makes choices that impact everyone, including Isobel, and to be honest, I'm still kind of on the fence as to whether I've forgiven him entirely for them. Yes, he has significant and understandable reasons but Isobel is a better woman than I for giving him the benefit of the doubt. Still, I am pleased with how the plot progressed, the conflict and the ultimate resolution.

As with any hockey romance, there are a good portion of on-ice and off-ice scenes, teammate camaraderie and in this case, significant conflict too. As part of the story arc, the hockey season progresses well,  with the Rebels gaining ground in their quest for the Stanley Cup. Isobel and Vadim get their happy ending and discover that second chances come with risks but also great reward. So Over You is an entertaining, sexy, and enjoyable addition to the Chicago Rebels series.

Isabel is a coach now . You have to read how Vadim ends up in Chicago and low and behold Isabel has to coach him .
There are a lot of mixed signals between Vadim and Isabel. Because let’s face it they both are proud .
Does the team win and the sisters keep the team ? Does Vadim and Isabel sort the misunderstanding between them out.

Isobel Chase was raised to be a winner. While her father ignored her older sister and hid her younger sister, he groomed her to be a hockey player. The Best hockey player. Which is why he chased off Vadim Petrov when he dared to de-virgin-ize Isobel when both were teens.
Now the two have been thrown together again. Vadim has just been drafted to the team Isobel inherited, with her sisters, from her father. And, because he's injured, Isobel is working with him to get him back up to speed. It will result in a player for the team and a new chance for Isobel (her professional career ended after about 20 minutes with a skate to the helmet).
There are a number of stumbling blocks -- she's technically his boss, sleeping with him might look like she's using him to help further her coaching career, their first time together was less than stellar for her... but the chemistry between them is enough to overcome them all.
This wasn't my favorite Meader book. There was a lot of Vad being just SO Russian and it was a little hard to take. I didn't read the first book and didn't feel like I needed to and I am very much looking forward to Dante's love story.

This is my first book by this author but it will certainly NOT be my last! This is a short review because I just want to fan girl about it and scream at you all to read this book! So, go! Read the book!!

I was intrigued by the premise of So Over You, by Kate Meader, the Czar of Pleasure failed to pleasure. However, once I started reading I loved it so much more for what did happen, as opposed to what didn’t (pun intended). Isobel and Vadim obviously have a history, not all of it favorable. They truly want what’s best for the other, though they often don’t go about showing that in the proper manner. The skates fly fast and furious, as they both let go of the past to embrace the future. This is one of my all-time favorite hockey romances, and that’s saying something considering my mad love for the first installment in the series. I want to read the novella and Violet’s book now.

I’ve been hearing about this series left and right, and I just had to request this from NetGalley when I saw it. So Over You is book two in Kate Meader’s Chicago Rebels series, and is the first book I’ve read by this author. I’m going to read many, many more.

This book was super funny, and I have to say very, very relevant and timely.

Isobel Chase had her chance at the pros, but an injury changes her plans. Now, her best bet is to be a coach for a team she co-owns with her two other sisters, the Chicago Rebels. Her task? Get Russian player, Vadim, up to speed as a left-wing hockey player.

There’s just one problem. They’ve met before. And the chemistry is still alive and kickin’.

Isobel is in a tough spot. She’s a woman in a male-dominated field which is tough enough. She’s got to break barriers against that, while also proving herself twice as much as the next guy. Getting involved with someone as bold and in-your-face as Vadim could completely ruin her chances at getting the team’s respect and getting a position as a coach.

I was rooting for Isobel from the beginning. Seeing her go toe-to-toe with Vadim was perfection! I laughed so much, and the humor was just fantastic. I don’t think I snorted laughs so much as I did here.

And Vadim is such a great guy, too! He’s coming off his own injury and trying to find a place on the team. Stirring up old feelings with Isobel has him off his game. And some of the things he does….and one of the issues they have to overcome…

Just epic.

There's a lot of dynamic characters on the hockey team that have me desperate for their stories, and I love finding out about each of these sisters. How they relate to hockey, how they relate to each other...there's so much to love about it all.

I learned a lot about hockey; I learned a lot of Russian; I learned that I just love this series. It’ll be my new addiction. If you’re a fan of hilarious sports romances with character development that will have you sighing and crying, you’re going to want to read this series too.

Hockey has been Isobel Chase’s life ever since she can remember, but her career imploded after a head injury almost ended her life. Now she finds herself part owner, along with her two other sisters, of The Chicago Rebels, her deceased father’s team, and since she can’t play, coaching will have to be the next best thing. For a chance at the job Isobel must personally coach their newly acquired player, Vadim Petrov through his knee injury to prove her skills. Unfortunately, they have a checkered past, a night together that started out amazing, but didn’t wrap up so well for Isobel. That night got Vadim kicked out of the country, back to Russia thanks to her father.

The attraction they felt as teenagers only burns brighter now, but Isobel is serious about making her position work, and gaining the respect of the team. So, no-go with Vadim, even if he is about ten times hotter now! Plus, her experience with Vadim started off all hot and bothered, but left her hanging in the end, so it wouldn’t be all that great anyhow, right?

Vadim is back in the States, traded after an injury, back with the Girl with the Blazing Skates. Isobel Chase amazed Vadim and lit up his fires when they were teenagers, and it postponed his US Hockey career. Finding out he didn’t live up to his reputation as the Czar of Pleasure with Isobel back then makes him determined to make up for the past and then some! Oh my, a man on a mission I wholeheartedly approve of!

I just loved Vadim! All big and broody, a heart the size of Texas, and a dry sense of humor! I immediately connected with Isobel, too; my heart went out to her and all she went through. Vadim and Isobel together were electric, but they’re romance was more than just sizzling physical attraction. Their chemistry was off-the charts, but I appreciated the many layers to these characters as their vulnerabilities were revealed. Vadim’s were wrapped up in family issues, and Isobel’s stemming from her loss of career; well, that and a kind of shitty dad. Loved the understanding and support between them!

This is the first Kate Meader I picked up, but it won’t be my last! (I already grabbed up a copy of Irresistible You, the first book, which is currently on sale for .99 cents!) Her writing is playful, humorous, and hot! Everything I love in a romance! She brought Vadim and Isobel to life; their their struggles and their highs all felt real to me making their journey towards a HEA a pleasure to experience!

I am going to be the minority here, but I DNF this one. It didn't click for me. I just could not get into this book at all. I struggled with it and then finally called it a DNF and moved on.

I really enjoyed Isobel and Vadim second chance love story in So Over You.
They were likable, passionate, stubborn characters that I easily connected with and loved them together.

The Chicago Rebels series is turning out to be one of my favs. The writing is perfection, not overdone with unnecessary details, and passionate, strong characters that will bring out the feels and leave you with a heart full of love. What more could I ask for?

Bravo Kate Meader, So Over You is another wonderful read and I can't wait to get my hands on the next book Undone By You, Dante and Cade’s story <3

SO OVER YOU has unexpectedly become my favourite so far of the series. I wasn’t expecting to find Isobel such an interesting character. She seemed mousey but driven and a bit uninteresting in book one, however when the layers were peeled back, she had a lot going on, past and present.

Vadim was one heck of a character. Initially, I felt very little, by the end this Russian hockey player had totally won me over and I was cheering his side. Vadim was a slice of arrogant, part unconditional regard and a big ball of frustration, it made for fun and occasionally angsty reading. What I loved was Vadim and Isobel’s second chance element to their story, they had chemistry and emotion going on. The glimpses of Harper and Remy were welcome too.

This book started off slow for me and that has pulled the rating down a little but if you experience the same, please stick with it because it is definitely a grower and ultimately very worth it.

I cannot wait for book three. That little insight midway and the end absolutely have me in desperation for book three. I am delighted at discovering Kate Meader thanks to a buddy.

So Over You brings us Isobel's story one of three sisters, who have inherited the Chicago Rebels Hockey team from their father. I enjoyed this book, Vadim and Isobel are great characters and the over all storyline and character interaction is fantastic. I would definitely recommend this series to lovers of sports romance

4.25☆ I thought So Over You was a very enjoyable story. That drew me in from the start. As the two main characters Vadim and Isobel were both very likable. Yet flawed and hurting. Due in small part to their shared history. But mainly thanks to their issues with their parents. And also in Isobels case the need to find her place after having to give up on her dreams. Not to mention all the drama Isobel and her two sisters have inherited as owners of the Rebels Hockey Team.
Which did make for an entertaining and good read. That was also a little angsty. As well as being hot, engaging, sweet and fun. And that was mainly thanks to the secondary characters. Especially Vadims sister Mia and Isobels younger sister Violet. Who is a real hoot and I can't wait to read her story. But I'm also hoping Cades revelation at the end means his story will also be forthcoming.
Yet either way I'm looking forward to what ever comes next and would happily recommend So Over You to others. Especially anyone who loves a good Hockey Romance.

Is it any wonder I've been obsessed with all things Kate Meader ever since reading her first book? The woman is the queen of banter and she writes some of the most sizzling enemies to lovers romances I've ever read. I was immediately hooked on her brand new Chicago Rebels series, and it isn't just because it's based in my home town. Though it's safe to say I may have been a tiny bit biased. But let's be real, any author that can take three estranged sisters and make them the new owners of a sport that's a boy's only club and not only make them sassy and powerful, but totally endearing too is a total rockstar in my eyes!

So Over You brings the story of Isobel Chase. And while her sisters have had a connection to the game because of their famous and philandering hockey player father, no one was closer to hockey than her. She had her sights set on a professional career and a handsome Russian hockey player until both were ripped away from her in the worst way possible. While she may have licked her wounds over her lost hockey career, the man that made her first time the most ho hum affair and then disappeared from her life...not so much. Here a girl builds up losing her virginity to the most handsome boy she knows and it's a wham bam, not even a thank you m'am affair. And now said man is back in her world as the newly traded player on her team and not only does she have to suffer his glares, but she has to coach him, too.

Can I just say how much I absolutely adored the banter and camaraderie between the Chase sisters in this latest installment. It feels like with each book, their bond just gets tighter and tighter, and I simply can't get enough of it.

But the center stage of the story was definitely the banter between Vadim and Isobel. There's nothing sexier than a brooding and glaring Russian. Unless said Russian is also now determined to right the wrongs of the past and deliver on the missing orgasms. GAH! I loved this grumpy puss. So much. I don't know how the author managed to take his grumpy and glaring ways and make him hilarious and endearing, but she totally did. Add in the secondary characters and the banter, and I had a goofy smile on my face the entire time!

“Entertainment was not part of the deal. Neither was little dog with big shits.”
“Don’t call Gordie Howe that. He’s very sensitive.”

As always, the sexual tension was even hotter than the sexual chemistry. I was literary vibrating with glee to finally see the two of them give into the undeniable attraction and feelings that still run between them.

While I loved Isobel's fierceness, admittedly her stubbornness at times wore on me. But Vadim was the perfect salve and together with her sisters, they gave her what she needed to get herself together.

I love a sexy second chance romance, and So Over You delivered on that end and then some! If you're looking for a fun, quick paced, and sizzling sports romance, this book is not to be missed.

This is so much more than just a story about hockey. This is a story about family relationships and a second chance romance. It is also a romantic comedy at its best. The relationship between the sisters, while rocky at times, is often humorous and relatable even for someone without sisters. Isobel's interaction with Vadim goes from being hot to intense to hysterical. Meader writes the language barriers and situations very well and while I don't know if they are accurate or not, they feel real and I really enjoyed the way they are portrayed in the book. Vadim is such a well written and complex character and Meader always writes family intricacies well. If you are looking for a book with layers, but still plenty of sizzle and comedy, this is the book for you.

So Over You is the second book in the Chicago Rebels series. It can be read as standalone but I do recommend reading Irresistible You as well to get the full picture involving the Chase sisters. I love that each sister has her own personality, interests, and style. So Over You is Isobel’s story.

Isobel didn’t know where she fit in. Hockey was her life. It was in her blood. It was all that mattered. But two years ago an injury took her off the ice for good. And six months ago she become part owner of her late father’s NHL team, The Rebels. She left her coaching job to consult with the team and to do her duties as an owner along with two sisters she didn’t really know. This was their chance to prove that they have what it takes to bring this team to the playoffs and with that they made a trade. They brought in the one player that Isobel had history with. One that took her V card. The one that she never saw again was now the one that she had to coach back to the ice...

He didn’t want her help. She did enough for his career eight years ago. He had a lust/hate relationship with his new boss. He wanted to hate her but what he really wanted to do was fuck her. Again. But he knew it wouldn’t end well. She was off-limits. His body had other plans. He wanted her. He wanted her sassy mouth, fast-wit, athlete body, and her smarts. She was a challenge. She was everything the punk bunnies weren’t. She didn’t know it but she owned him. He just couldn’t let her know that. Not until they got on the same page with what happened in the past. Talk about what is happening between them in the present.

Vadim and Isobel’s relationship is complicated, heartbreaking, beautiful, sexy, and fun. They have obstacles to hurdle. Gossip to ignore if they even want to move forward. They also have games to win! They both love hockey. That is their passion but is it more important than their relationship?

I loved Vadim and Isobel. Vadim is a sexy tatted protective Russian. Isobel is a badass who doesn’t realize how amazing she really is. I just loved them together. Their banter. Their passion. Their humor.

Overall...It was everything I hoped for when it came to Isobel. She deserves to find her place in the world. The Chicago Rebels series is turning out to be one of my favorite hockey series’. I can not wait for the next book. I am hooked on the genre and oh man...it’s going to be hot.
