This is probably my favorite book in the series. Yet again it was a masterful story and a very quick read I didn't want to put down.
A wonderful reworking of Royal Wedding, the tension between Asher and Princess Amelia is fire. As the big day approaches, what will they decide? And what other shenanigans are lurking in the palace?
If you want a cute romance and a light read, then this is for you. It was so fluffy. I loved the author’s writing style. She does an amazing job at flushing out dimensional characters in unique circumstances.
We have tormented souls and music and royalty. What’s not to like? - Wink.
When Asher Reed, an American classical musician, is hired as a last minute replacement to perform at the royal wedding of Princess Amelia in Great Britain, he’s hoping he can shake his recent bout with performance anxiety long enough to get through the festivities and get his career back on track. Little does he know that his life is about to change forever. As a guest of Buckingham Palace, he knows he has no business even speaking to the princess, but he’s completely awed by her beauty and more than a little intrigued by her rebellious spirit. Still, he definitely knows he has no business kissing her silly at the fitting of her wedding gown. He’s there to perform, not cause a royal scandal. But when he stumbles upon her groom’s appalling secret, the fate of the princess and the British Crown suddenly rest squarely in his cello-playing hands.
This was a cute retelling of a movie starring one of my favorite actors. I really liked what the author did with the story. I look forward to reading more from this author and this series. I recommend.
**I voluntarily read and reviewed this book
I read the first book in the series and jumped to this one without reading the book in the middle, as well as not having seen the source material movie. Frankly, I don't think I will wind up reading the middle book, as many of the problems I had with the first book are in this one.
I was once again bored in the beginning of the book and really couldn't connect with either Asher or Amelia. I found the plot a little unbelievable at times, and slightly unrealistic at others. It made for difficult reading. I did like the evocative nature of music that was described in the story, and that saved it from a 2 star rating for me. I think this is a case of me not fitting with the author's writing style, and I'll be avoiding it in the future.
You know those books that instantly make you happy when you read them? That’s exactly what Royally Wed is for me. I absolutely loved this sweet confection of a story; the characters charmed the hell out of me and Teri Wilson’s writing swept me away to a modern-day fairytale for a few hours.
For the first time in his life Asher Reed – considered by some to be the next Yo-Yo Ma – is having trouble playing. Considering he just agreed to fill in for the famed cellist for the wedding of Princess Amelia of Great Britain, this couldn’t come at a worse time. And that’s before you take into account that his ex and his former mentor who she cheated on him with will be there. Asher can’t afford distractions if he wants to pull himself together, and there’s no bigger distraction than the bride herself. Amelia is trying to shake her “Princess Naughty” image and save her family from being blackmailed by marrying a man she doesn’t love (and who clearly doesn’t love her). She can’t afford a scandal and falling for a handsome American cellist would be scandalous indeed…
I adored Amelia and Asher from the start. They’re lovely, charming, endearing characters who are easy to root for. They have fantastic chemistry and it’s easy to see why it’s impossible for them to stay away from one another. Sparks aside, I loved how they became friends as they fell in love; it added to their love story and gave it more depth. While they do fall in love quickly, it works in this case. I honestly had no idea how they’d get their happily ever after and I loved that Ms. Wilson kept me guessing.
Royally Wed is loosely based on the Fred Astaire classic, Royal Wedding. Of all the Royals books, this one is the least like its inspiration (save for one major plot point) but I really enjoyed the nods to the film that I spotted. As with all the Royals books, Ms. Wilson does an incredible job of updating a classic and giving it her own, fresh spin. I cannot recommend this book highly enough if you enjoy contemporary romances or simply want a pick-me-up. Royally Wed is the perfect mix of sweet and sensual, of real emotion and fairytale romance. In short, it’s simply superb.
Overall fantastic read. Reminded me of a Hallmark movie which I most everyone to ever play. There wasn't much of a plot or supporting characters which to me was the only flaw. Thought it's a big flaw and the only reason I ended up giving this read a four star instead of five. This is a very well written book by Wilson.
Loved reading Asher and Amelia's love story. Amelia is abut to make the biggest mistake of her life and sees no way out of her situation. Ashner just wants a do over on his life and is not looking for a relationship until her met Amelia. A story about, obligations, forbidden love, deceptions and finding one self. Lots of chemistry Recommended read.
Very fantastic. Not much in the way of supporting characters, or deep plot, or mystery, or genuine love. Very Hallmark movie. Not bad, but I wanted more, especially at the end.
I really liked these two together, and how they each brought out strength in each other. The level of playfulness was endearing, and the corgi was especially fun.
I did want to see more of Eleanor, her best friend, and even Holden, the groom.
All in all, a great escape for those who love stories about royals, especially those who love "other side of the tracks" stories.
The third and current book in this series and as I have said before this is a series where each book is self contained and there aren't repeat characters so you can start with any book in this series.
This book is about Asher Reed and Princess Amelia. Asher Reed is an accomplished musician and through circumstances he is called to London to play for a royal wedding and in an interesting turn of events he runs into Princess Amelia and both of their worlds are turned upside down.
I feel like a broken record when it comes to this series, but each book has such great plot. I was reading this one while rewatching the first season of the Crown on Netflix with my parents and I love that this book helped add to my love of all things royal. If you watch the Crown, are dying over royal weddings and the royal family, this book was made for you. And of course like the other books, there are sexy times in this book but again they are perfectly timed and it added to the story.
I couldn't find any information to see if we are going to have another book in this series, but I would love to have one!
Royally Wed (The Royals Book 3)
by Teri Wilson
The third book in the royals series, and maybe the most dynamic of the set of books. Royally wed has many twists and turns, and remarkable restrained love scene that will tug at the romantic heart of the readers. This book shows that sometimes its not always what is best for everyone else that needs to be considered. Our story comes from a princess attempting to save her families name, and place on the throne by self sacrifice. She is not prepared to give everything away on the chance that arranged marriages can work out. This is a great book about balancing selfish nature, and regard for another persons decisions.

Royally Wed is the third book in the Royals series. It can be read as a complete standalone. There are no character connections. Royally Wed is a retelling of the MGM film Royal Wedding. I haven’t seen the movie so I can’t say how much likeness there was between the two. I did however enjoy the story.
An American cellist. A British princess. A Duke. The wedding of the century.
Asher knew this performance could make or break his career as a cellist. After what happened a few months ago he needed this break. He had to prove to himself that he could get passed the anxiety and move on. Amelia was known as the Naughty Princess in the tabloids. She was the royal bad girl but after the engagement announcement heard around the world she had to get serious. She had her family and country to think about. She would marry the Duke and live ever after. Maybe not happily but it was her duty.
Those were their plans until she heard his music and he heard her tears. That is where it started. Then a friendship no one expected. Amelia was an engaged princess after all. There was no way she would fall for a cellist. An American. And even if she did, it couldn’t stop what was already planned for her. The Queen wouldn’t allow it. It would ruin everything.
Ten days. Stolen kisses. Outrageous wedding gifts. Secrets. Betrayal. It was all too much for them but it was their life. After ten days will they move on together or separate?
Overall...I thought this was a fun and addicting story. I just had to know what was going to happen next with these two. Amelia is badass. Asher is beautiful. Together, they are fun, flirty, and much more.
Quotes:
“Trust me. Every one of us is fully aware that you’re saving the day.”
“Honestly, Mum. You should be more careful who you allow to sleep here. He seems mad as a box of frogs.”
My gift is my song and this one’s for you.
I don't care what it says about me, I love a royal wedding. So a romance novel about a royal wedding with a princess bride who falls for the visiting American cello soloist? Yes, please. This was a fun read that hit all the right buttons. Read it to tide you over until Harry and Meghan tie the knot.
I thought this was really cute. I love any and all royal romance stories, but this one was especially cute. I enjoyed the characters. Willow was my favorite.

I really enjoyed this one. It was quirky, different, and a light read. I kind of enjoy all the Royal books and have a soft spot for this kind of genre. Even though this is a retelling of a classic film I thought this was well done entry into the last (?) of the author’s series on “royals”. I liked that the Royal was a woman in this one -it’s usually a male in most of these types of novels so this was a nice change of pace. The relationship between Asher and Amelia felt natural but I felt like the book could have been longer to flesh out certain things. Over all I enjoyed the novel and would have read more in this series if the author wanted to write another.
Teri Wilson has found a great niche of story telling. Royally Wed follows a similar plot of her previous work without making the reader feel like they are living the same story. Royally Wed follows a cellist who is having a rough go of life with the destruction of his engagement, mentor, and position in the New York Philhrmonic falling apart he finds himself asked to do a solo at the wedding of the century. He’s also playing with his ex-fiancée while the conductor is his former mentor who is now in a relationship with said ex-fiancée.
The princess of this story finds herself in a awkward position trying to convince herself to marry her best friends father to save her family’s monarchy. In walks the cellist, staying in the room next to her at the palace.
Wilson has done an impeccable job blending the heartbreak of these characters with their attraction to each other.
I obviously read this at the right time! Congratulations to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle!!
This is a really sweet clever book. I love the idea of the plot and really want to go watch the film its based on. Willow the corgi stole the show!

The Royals series by Teri Wilson is so much fun! Each book has been different enough from the last that you don't feel bored reading them.
In Royally We'd Princess Amelia and Asher meet right as she is about to get married to someone else. Asher is actually there to play his cello at her wedding at Westminster Abbey.
The instant attraction is mutual, but seeing them spend time together and growing to appreciate the other was sweet. You will find yourself rooting for them and hoping they can find a way to be together.
I hope there will be more to come from this series!

Cute book but seemed to drag. I would have liked to have a seen a faster character development.
