This book was a great read, well written, about a women in turkey, with her son,and has a fight to bring her child back from her ex,great read.
This book tells the story of a mother’s long fight for the right to return to her country with her son. Lisa writes so well and her strength and courage come through at all times. Her ability to stay calm and remain civilised in the face of such adversity and bitterness amazed me.
It also shows the failure of an amazing piece of legislation such as The Hague Convention (which should swiftly return a child to their country of origin) where the country in which it is operating has a faulty justice system. I just hope that things have improved, but looking online at more recent cases, it sadly appears not to be the case.
I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading well written human interest stories, or about about recovering a child within the Turkish legal system.
The plight of Lisa Kennedy's freedom; although sad, was one of the best books i have had the pleasure of reading in a long time. Reading how Lisa had this extraordinary struggle to gain rights, freedom and escape was mind boggling. And to think she's an Aussie. I have followed her story more since finishing the book. This book is an amazing read; especially if you like real books.
