One More Promise was such a great read. I loved Dylan and Paige. I loved how similar yet different they were. How they saw each other, really saw what made each other tick. How great they were and how amazing they could be together. This is another favorite from this author!

Paige is very ambitious, confident woman. She works hard to make sure that she is always on top of things at work because she wants to prove that she is a good asset. That she didn't just get this job because her family owns the company. That she deserves it regardless. She is very confident and does whatever needs to be done, except when it comes to her family. Then she resorts to this unsure girl who doesn't say what she should and lets them walk all over her. Her sister is especially terrible. I don't know how she put up with all the garbage her sister spews her way. Oh, I hated the sister.

Dylan just got out of rehab and is in need of some community service hours. When he gets an invite to be part of Paige's literacy campaign he is excited. He struggled as a kid, never really learned to read until he was much older and someone taught him. He knows what it is like and how our schools fail some kids. How so many may graduate without this crucial skill so he wants to do what he needs to do to be a part of this. Yes, he needs the hours, but he also thinks it is a great idea.

When Paige and Dylan first meet it is a bit rocky. Paige already wasn't happy as Dylan wasn't who she wanted for her campaign, she just wanted authors, but now she is stuck trying to make this work. And when she finds out about his past she is super judgemental. She realizes it and does apologize when called out on it, but she could be really judgy at times which was surprising. She does this occasionally with Dylan as...well maybe partly it was to try and fend off a potential broken heart when she starts to feel more than friendly feelings towards him. She knows he would never want to be with someone like her and for as confident as she is in her job, she can be pretty insecure in other areas of her life.

Dylan likes Paige right from the start. She is smart and fun and beautiful and everything, but he can't be with her. That is something the old Dylan would do and he is trying to be a new guy. A changed man. Not that jerk he used to be.

I loved watching these two try and figure everything out. How Dylan tried to get Paige to stand up for herself and not just do everything her sister should be doing because she knows her sister won't do it. To let her sister fall on her face and not just take credit for everything Paige does. To be that amazing woman he knows she is and let her family see that. And Paige helps Dylan see that even if he is not that guy he used to be he can still go out and have fun. He doesn't have to keep punishing himself for things he did in the past. She encourages him to play his music and get together with his band and everything he might want to do. I loved both of them individually and together they were amazing. They were just what the other needed. Plus I absolutely loved how things worked out in the end. How Paige and Dylan both dealt with things and how they were together. I was pleasantly surprised there wasn't more drama with everything that went on. This was a great read from this great author.

I like Samantha Chase's writing; it always manages to draw me in so I was excited to see this title. Add in the rock star element and I was even more excited. Overall, I did enjoy this title.

Paige gave me a hard time at first. But then she transformed into a character I think most people can relate to. She doesn't really feel like she's fitting in, always trying so hard to please everyone else and seemingly falling short. She had good growth throughout the book in my opinion.

Dylan, our hot rock star bad boy? One with issues? Who wouldn't want to fix a man like that. Honestly, from the start I liked Dylan. I appreciated his efforts to clean himself up, to become who he ends up being. It's not an easy feat and I think the author handled it well.

I liked these two together. I liked that they each came with their own baggage and that they helped each other through it. I love that Dylan tried to resist Paige and that Paige eventually won the fight. These two needed each other and the way that came about was great.

I did have some issues with the secondary characters. I really got annoyed with some of them, more than the I want to shake you/slap you annoyed, but truly ticked enough to have to take a second to remind myself they weren't real people. That to me I guess just shows that the writing was strong enough for me to believe that these people were real.

I liked this book. I liked the premise, I like how it played out. It was a different look at the rock star type of book. It was written well and aside from some character annoyances I enjoyed it. I would recommend this title.

This book will take you on a journey, actually many journeys. Dylan is recovering after years of partying and one moment that changed his life forever. Paige is trying to make a mark at her father’s company. Their paths will cross when they both need each other most, though they just don’t know they need each other. Dylan will have to do a lot to prove himself and Paige will be doing a lot to try and prove herself. They will find that sometimes it’s the people closest to you are the ones who will be your biggest supporters, but can also be the people to drag you down. The one thing they can count on is each other and even that will be tested. This book was so good and I promise if you read it you won’t be disappointed.

I love Dylan and Paige! I read this story in one setting and know it is one my re-read list. sC books are up there in my favorites and this one is probably in my top two of her stories. The characters and their story made me relate to them, laugh with them and cheer for their successes or groan with irritation over some the antics taken by family.

At first Dylan and Paige seem so opposite, but as their story progressed they had many similarities and concerns. I think Dylan might be my favorite. The way Samantha wrote him and his struggles, insecurities and emotions was extremely relatable, well rounded and visual. The way they both let misconceptions impact their relationship and life was spot on and sweet, frustrating and funny at the same time. Seeing how they both grew and finally stood up for themselves and what they wanted was heartwarming and a perfect cheer worthy moment.

I loved that their story stood on its own, but also that we got to catch up with Riley and Matt and their loves. I also got excited to learn more about Julian and can’t wait to see more of his story!

A rockstar who needs to re-brand his image and a woman who isn't impressed with his story will uncover what it means to not judge a book by its cover.

Dylan need a fresh start, will he find it in the one woman who doesn't care about the trappings of being a superstar?

Paige is exhausted from living in the shadows and desperately desires her own shot to shine. Will she find the courage to take that leap from Dylan?

Don't miss this exciting installment in Samantha Chase's rock romance.

Paige Walter's is working on a literacy campaign trying to bring to light the importance of reading and literature. In walks Dylan Anders, a rock star trying to make amends and straighten out his life.
Working in a business owner and run by her family, Paige is trying to prove herself all while her sister is taking the limelight. Dylan is trying to prove he isn't the same as all the other rock stars.
Can the two of them work together and making this campaign a success? Or will their differences destroy it.

I loved this book and the way the obstacles challenge them. The characters themselves are amazing and I haven't been disappointed in these books yet! If you haven't yet, you should definitely check it out.

4 1/2 STARS!

Trouble might have just walked in the door, but she likes it ... and so did I! I'm not afraid to admit that I'm a glorified Shaughnessy super fan here, so it's no surprise that Dylan wound me around his finger and hung on tight as the ups and downs of his story took me through a rollercoaster of emotions. He's sexy and intense, but shows his kind heart and understanding soul quickly when he meets Paige. She's not as true to herself as she should be, and meeting a man like him helps her to stand up for herself and go for what she wants in life a lot more. I loved them together ... and I'm already wanting more!

Well known bassist of rock band Shaughnessy, Dylan Anders is trying to pick up the pieces of his life after his epic downward spiral. He's trying to make amends and get the head on his shoulders straightened out for the first time in years. The idea of working on a literacy program intrigues him ... and that's even before he meets the mastermind behind it!

Paige Walters works for her father's PR firm and came up with this campaign idea, but the pieces aren't falling into place exactly the way she had planned. Instead of highlighting the side of reading she wanted, the powers that be want to bring in some washed up rock star to be the draw for more publicity. She's not happy about it, but what choice does she have ... she has to work with the guy. To her surprise, he's not what she expected ... and what he is, well, she's falling for that guy before she knows it!

the meat of One More Promise is the romance between Dylan and Paige. Both with their own emotional baggage, supported one another in very authentic and genuine ways. Dylan is living live, one day at a time and adjusting to his sobriety. Each day sans alcohol is a struggle and he is determined to make good on his second chance, eager to throw himself into the literacy campaign. Working with Paige on the project brought out the best in Dylan, allowing him to be redeemed in ways he hadn’t expected. His relationship with Paige growing from a friendship to lovers was essentially the extent of the plot. The danger of having such finely character focused material is that there isn’t anything to break up the monotony. I felt this keenly in One More Promise. Yes, Dylan and Paige had to learn to trust one another, and from that trust grew a lovely friendship and camaraderie that later blossomed into an attraction they could not ignore.

Band on the Run #2

4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This one started off a little slow but it ended up being a cute romance. It’s a little more goody two shoes type of romance than I typically read. But I thought overall the storyline was good.
Thanks NetGalley for the arc in exchange for my honest review.

I haven't read any of the other books in the series but I don't think its necessary to be able to enjoy this one. If you like bad boys trying to change, funny heroines then you are going to love this one! Both Paige and Dylan were struggling in different ways and while they were pretty good at communicating sometimes they lost their way. It was good to see them learn from their mistakes, learn to apologize, and work on their relationship along the way. Overall it was a great romance, I'm looking forward to read the first book!

Cute story. The thing about this story it is a true romance. Not much action or adventures but just plain couple based and life based angst.

Paige is trying to prove herself to her father and her family. Dylan is a recovering alcoholic who needs to get his life back on track. They are perfect for each other and you can tell it from the first moment they meet.

The characters are very well written. They seemed like they could be based on real people. The background characters are interesting and I can’t wait to read the next in the series.

As opposites attract, Dylan and Paige is a great addition as a couple in this series! I loved the depth of character that I read of Dylan's once bad boy past and Paige's insecurities. I find it hard to pinpoint one thing that stood out the most, as it was the combination of the whole storyline that made it a great read for me. Beautifully written with so much richness and emotions, I was turning pages late into the night to see what would happen next in their story. I found myself reading straight through while smiling, laughing, and crying as they got their HEA. It is a standalone in the series, and I highly recommend "One More Promise" for readers that love a great romance. I would also like to thank NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for gifting me "One More Promise". My opinion is my own. This is mine. 5 Stars!

I loved this book, it was a very dynamic story. Paige works at her father’s PR company and is a very hard worker and is under appreciated. While working on a charity event she meets Dylan Anders, famous bass guitarist from the Band Shaughnessy. Paige is not real crazy about Dylan but ends up having to spend a lot of time with him. There was so much depth to this story, it draws you in and deals with real life struggles like addiction. I absolutely love Paige and Dylan and love how they interact with each other, fun and flirty and so much more. It made me laugh, swoon, get mad and even a little sad, and ended up filling my heart with joy. I will say there are a couple of characters in this story I did not really care for and would have liked to smack :), but besides that this was a wonderful book that I am so glad I read and would highly recommend!!

I'm loving this series! Dylan has made some huge mistakes in his life. This bad boy rockstar has just come out of rehab and is totally invested in getting his life together. Paige is a business woman in her family's PR firm. She's overworked, under-noticed and becoming dissatisfied with her job. She wants to prove herself to her father.

Paige is assigned as Dylan's "handler" From the first meeting the zingers and one liners come. I enjoyed their interactions SO much. I loved that it was a real, slowly developed relationship. No instalove here!! There is tons of growth in both Dylan and Paige as they come to learn who they are and what they are really capable of and what they deserve in life. Truly enjoyable read and I can't wait for Julians!

Sometimes a story or the characters will hit all the right emotional hot spots for me and I’m captivated from the first chapter. That was the case with One More Promise. Yeah, Dylan had screwed up, he’d let his demons get the best of him… for a while. That was then, this is a new day and a new chance to show himself the man he could be. He wasn’t so much worried about others opinions or the fans of the band – if he proved himself to the one person who mattered most – himself – and his friends, then that was all that mattered. Right up until he wanted to show one stubborn woman that he was worth taking a chance of a lifetime on, the one woman who mattered more than anything else.

Paige struggled with her family and proving herself to her father. She had talent, she was far more than capable of handling their clients. The fact that her sister constantly showed up at the last minute, did the least work and took all the credit and glory should have become expected by now. This time Paige was left with babysitting a rock star straight from rehab – exactly what she didn’t want for this project. She might not have known why Dylan was so famous, but over time this man showed himself to be far more than she ever imagined possible in her life. Someone who saw her worth, took her side and wanted so much more from her. It was a risk, but wasn’t it time that she started taking back her life and taking a few risks along the way?

I adored Paige and Dylan together. His rehab, community service and fame were beside the point in this story. Her struggles with her dad and sister were a constant in her life but finding Dylan made her look at things quite differently. As they slowly discovered the true people they were behind the masks Dylan and Paige began to fight to remain together. One More Promise is an endearing romance, a discovery of who you really are at the core and finding out that someone can love you exactly as you are.

I really enjoyed Dylan and Paige’s story and would recommend One More Promise to any Contemporary Romance reader who loves stories where the people are the main attraction, interesting secondary characters and a really, really good story.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

Book two in the Band on the Run series. Although this book is part of a series it can be read as a stand-alone.

Dylan is fresh out of rehab. Not only is he having to deal with the addiction but he’s having to deal with the demons and actions of his past. In order to put a good foot forward Mick, the bands manager thinks he should get involve with a charity event and show the new and improved Dylan.

Paige is in charge of the Literacy Now campaign or so she thinks. The PR company she works for is owned by her father and he undervalued her worth in what she actually does for the company due to the fact that her big sister always steps in to steal the spotlight that Paige lit.

When Paige and Dylan get thrown together for a PR coverup the two who are total opposites find a spark. But is it all for show or will this spark continue even when the spotlight is off of them?

I loved Dylan and Paige together. They both had their ups and downs but when they were together they were electric. Can’t wait for more in this series.

OMG!!! I absolutely love Dylan. Every book I read by Ms. Chase just gets better and better. I love how down to earth and "every day" the characters and their problems are even though he's a "rockstar". Can't wait to read the next one.
