4.5 Stars for One More Promise by Samantha Chase, this is Book two in the Band on the Run Series but it can be read as a stand-alone, I know this because I haven’t read book one as yet and it didn’t distract from my enjoyment of this story. Dylan and Paige where do I begin. I loved this couple and their story had my emotions all over the place, I smiled, I got angry and I shed a tear but the what I loved most was journey we were taken on of two people getting to know each other as they fell in love, the characters are strong and have depth, I’m sure if you take a chance on this book you will love them as much as I do. I can’t wait to read book one and I understand there is also going to be a book three, great job Samantha Chase.

In the first book of this series, Dylan Anderson was going to rehab. He took the "rocker lifestyle" quite seriously, drinking, popping pills, and sleeping with a different woman every night. Now he's out of rehab but his band isn't going on tour for three more months. He has some time to kill (and some community service to do). When his manager leaves a pamphlet for a literacy program, Dylan isn't incredibly excited but he figures it's at least something to do.
Paige Walters works for her family marketing firm but she is definitely the under appreciated child. Her sister is the tall, beautiful blonde whom her father adores, even if Paige is the one who does all the work. She doesn't necessarily want praise and adulation but a little recognition would be nice. Instead, her sister is the one who likes to swoop in to take the credit after everyone else had put in the work. Her ego is a little fragile and that's why she can't understand why Dylan might be interested. Well, that and their first meeting wasn't exactly auspicious.
But they start to learn more about each other and start to fall a lot in love.
I generally liked both Paige and Dylan but the ending was over the top. We just hadn't seen much of Paige's father and all of a sudden he was a major player.

Inspiring!! Dylan Anders is out of rehab and wanting to start a new beginning. Paige Walters is a woman who is a strong & independent as long as it doesn't involve her family. I fell in love with Dylan & Paige! I thought this story was very inspiring while also breaking my heart at some points! You should keep the tissues close while reading. There were so many times I wanted to reach out and hug either Dylan or Paige when life was hitting them hard. This is my favorite story so far in this series!

Paige works for her family’s PR firm in LA. Her relationship is strained with her father and especially her sister. Her sister is used to sitting on Paige’s coat tails letting her do all the work until the very end where she swoops in and steals all the credit.
Paige thinks she finally has something that will show her dad what she can do and its something that she is very passionate about, Literacy Now. But Ariel once again sweeps in and finagles Paige into the position of baby sitting a Dylan Anders, a rock star recently out of rehab.
Dylan wants to change his life and realizes that his “community service” working with Paige on the Literacy Now program is his chance. Dylan is also passionate about Literacy because he had trouble reading as a child.
Dylan finds Paige not knowing who he is refreshing and that her treatment of him is like he is an everyday person and not the bass play of Shaughnessy, a huge rock band. Dylan doesn’t think he is good enough for Paige, but he shows her that she is more talented than her family has ever given her credit for.
Amazing emotional connection right from the start, Chase draws the readers in with vividly compiled words…its pure magic.

Quick, fun read about a rock star in recovery and a woman with a passion for books.

"Oh. My. Dirty talk was also something she didn't know she loved until Dylan."
Those that follow my reviews know that I'm addicted to rockstars, I've read over 300 rocker romances. So seeing 'band' in the series title caught my attention and I decided to read my first Samantha Chase novel. Though it's the 2nd book in the series, I read it as a standalone. I must also give my followers a heads-up that the 'dirty talk' mentioned above is of the PG variety rather than what I usually read which is more explicit. But that didn't detract from my enjoyment of this engaging story which was very well written.
Dylan is fresh out of rehab and actually able to focus on what's going on around him for the first time in a long time. Unfortunately, he doesn't like what he sees. He's disgusted with himself and ashamed of his behavior that hurt his family and bandmates. He's determined to make some changes in his life, but he's not sure where to start. When he's invited to participate in a literacy program he decides it's a good project to focus on as he gets to know his sober self. When he meets Paige for the first time, her reaction to him is no surprise. He's used to his reputation preceding him. But it still disappoints him when she makes judgments before getting to know him.
Paige is on the lowest rung of the family business. The one that comes up with the brilliant ideas and then ends up being the errand girl instead of being head of the campaigns she dreams up. Doing the work behind the scenes as someone else takes the credit. But the literacy program is very near and dear to her heart and she's determined to prove that she can handle it on her own. But as usual, things don't go as she'd hoped and someone steals her thunder...again. She'd had it all planned out, spotlighting her favorite authors. Nowhere in her imagination was there a celebrity rock star involved. It's not like they are known for reading, right? How did things get so messed up and how was she going to get herself out of it. She can't deny that he's gorgeous, but "Why? Why him? Why couldn't one of her favorite authors have come in and talked with her like this? Why did it have to be a scruffy, tattoo-covered rock star who not only didn't look the part of anything she was trying to do, but who potentially would also be a distraction for...well...her and probably any female in a ten mile radius?"
The decision to allow Dylan to participate in the program was taken out of her hands and she ended up being assigned as his reluctant handler (aka babysitter). Her father wanted the attention his celebrity status would bring, but didn't want any bad press to cast a shadow on their company. So she was to keep an eye on him. And what an excellent job she did...watching him and fantasizing about him. "She wanted to climb him like a tree."
What fun it was to see them fight their attraction to each other, knowing it was only a matter of time. The bad boy wanting the good girl, trying not to dirty her up, but unable to resist. He knows she deserves better, but he can't seem to convince her of that. He's only going to be around for 3 months until he completes his commitment to the program and he has no idea what comes next. She doesn't really fit into his rock star world, but can he bring himself to leave her behind? Will he have a choice when the time comes? Grab your copy of One More Promise and find out.

I just loved these two. I loved being able to watch these two grow together. What's sad is we as a society tend to make false judgements and expect the worst. This book shows how people truly can change. This is one of my favorites by Samantha Chase.

Dylan has just finished rehabilitation and now needs something to finish the required community service, the literacy program sounds perfect and meets the requirements.
Paige works for her family PR firm and the library literacy program is her baby and a project close to her heart. But as always after all the grunt work is done, her sister sweeps in and takes over and leaves Paige with the task of babysitting Dylan.
This is another excellent and engaging book by Ms Chase. It was a fast paced read with well written and charming characters. Dylan and Paige both have parent issues and the way they were a support for each other was heartwarming. I also enjoyed catching up with some of the characters from the previous books. I managed to read it in one go and can’t wait for the next one
A definite recommendation !

Paige and Dylan couldn't be more different. But you know what they say, opposites attract. Watching them come together was entertaining, you definitely will laugh and likely want to throw the book at times, but ultimately they are a well written pair that deserves happiness.

Loved this book. I was sorry that it ended. The lead character really learned how to stand up and get what she wanted. Too bad about the crappy family. The musicians were a great add on.

Dylan's story, opens with Dylan coming out of rehab, the band on break and Dylan trying to find a place for himself. Dylan's community service takes him to PRW at the request of Ariel to discuss taking part in a literacy campaign. Dylan goes to the office and meets Paige, who it turns out isn't expecting him or her sisters intervention. Paige loves reading, doesn't see herself as anything special, Dylan though does. He spends time with her getting to know her, falling for her. When everything goes really badly, history appears to be repeating itself, and assumptions are made about him, is he strong enough to meet the challenge, accept his feelings and Paige? This is an amazing, engrossing, entertaining story, Samantha weaves a reality, a life into her characters so it's easy to fall for them. Enjoy the ride! Highly recommended.

I just adore Dylan & Paige’s story. It was so many things, but what stood out to me the most was the depth of these two people and the heart they put into everything they do. After being released from rehab, our bad boy rocker Dylan is basically floundering and not sure what to do with all the free time he finds himself with, his past has made him very insecure about his present and future. He is given an opportunity to complete his community service through a Literacy Program which happens to be a cause very near and dear to his heart. It is there he meets the sweet and proper Paige, who is running the program. He doesn’t think she likes him very much at first because let’s face it, she really isn’t very nice to him and pretty much thinks she has him pegged as a stereotypical bad boy rocker. Paige has her own set of problems with a family that walks all over her and the insecurities they make her feel daily.
Turns out Paige was very wrong about Dylan. They have amazing chemistry and so much in common and I just love all of their interactions whether horizontal or vertical. Their banter is fun but they also have important conversations as well. Paige is definitely not as prim as she appears once they get behind closed doors. I love that about her, and so does Dylan! They are both insecure about their relationship which I love because it makes them so real and relatable. They are not without bumps in the road, but what a great ride Samantha Chase takes us on while we watch Dylan and Paige basically become who and what they were always meant to be. Each other’s forever. What a wonderful love story and story of triumph this is!!! I hope Julian is up next!!
I received an ARC of this book from the publisher through Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

I was given an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I thought that this book took me longer than most to read. I enjoyed the story line and the twists and turns that the characters faced throughout the story - I wish it would've been shorter with about half the content. There was mention of Dylan's bad attitude but Paige quickly forgave him. Overall I think there was just too much in this story. I have other books to read by this author but it may take me some time to want to read more books like this.

While this is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone. Enjoyable romance, with our hero Dylan trying to turn his life around after a drunk driving accident. He meets Paige who is working a literacy campaign, and even though she only wanted authors, she now has a musician -- Dylan. Neither one likes each other to start with, a nice change from instant love/lust! They gradually get to know one another while working on the campaign, and the romance is a real joy to read. Highly recommend this author!

One More Promise is a sweet, fun romance that you can’t put down once you start. Dylan Anders is out of rehab and trying to get his life back on track. Paige Walters is working on a literacy campaign and ends up working with Dylan. Paige believes that Dylan is way out of her league. Dylan is taken by Paige, not only does she treat him like a ‘real’ person, but she doesn’t hold his past over him. Dylan and Paige have a great chemistry in and out of the bedroom and I love the banter between them. I was immediately drawn in to their story and I didn’t want to put it down.

I'm a fan of Samantha Chase and love her writing but I had issues with One More Promise.
I thought Paige was a too but pushover. I was getting tired of everyone taking advantage of her. She put up with a lot of BS from her family. I wanted her to get a backbone and do something about it.
I also found it hard to believe that she wouldn't know anything about Dylan considering she's in PR and he's a PR nightmare.
Dylan was likeable enough but he too took advantage of Paige. I didn't like the easy he treated her at times.
I may be the exception but it wasn't my favorite.

A really enjoyable read - I’m so happy that Samantha Chase decided to give us this insight into Dylan’s struggle. There were lots of twists & turns in Dylan and Paige’s journey.
This is a part of series - which is part of a larger series. I strongly encourage that you read all of them (Shaughnessy Brothers & Band on the Run) both because they tie together and are really good!
Thanks to Netgalley & Sourcebooks for providing me with this ARC free of charge in exchange for an honest review!

Great story about a bad boy rocker, Dylan, who meets up with Paige, who's heading a literacy campaign for her fathers PR firm. Not the angle she was looking to do, she wanted authors to represent the cause, but her sister thought this was a better angle, and as always Paige concedes. When they meet and get to know each other, the sparks fly. She's just what he needs in his life, she doesn't care about his status, she cares about him as a person. Follow their story in this great book by Samantha, 5 stars because it's that good!!! Grab this one!

Band On The Run # 2

🌟🌟🌟🌟⭐
This was the perfect 2nd story on this series, and no surprise I loved it. Samantha never ceases to amaze me with her writing talent and character development. Each character has their own pert, whether it be big or small which brings everything together.
Paige Walters is a executive at PRW, a company he father owns. She has worked hard to get to where she is, But not without, constant interference from her awful sister, Ariel ( yep just like the mermaid, except this one has all the evil of the Ursula), and has no problems dumping it on Paige. With her love of books, straight laced Paige is hired to head up Literacy Now, a program for kids, and is great at her job, but typical behaviour from Ariel turns the whole thing on is head, and Paige is less than impressed.
Dylan Anders, is base player for Shaunessy a hot music group. His group is om hiatus, while he attends rehab for alcohol abuse. His life has been massive highs and lows and it all came to a crashing halt when he was basically given his marching orders. Now out of rehab he reaches out to PRW after Ariel contacted him to about the literacy program. Sadly she may have been eager to have him on-board, the same cannot be said for Paige. She is not the least bit interested in his bad boy ways, tattoos, and his trying to win her over.
Put into her care, Paige is furious again that she is overruled by her sister and father again. As she spends more time with Dylan, she sees the good guy, the hot rock God and the sweet man who will bring her to her knees. Together they form an unbeatable pair, one that will make a difference. Overcoming their own issues, they nice off each other to pull together. But what neither saw coming was the feelings that ride. No longer the PR person and the rock bad boy, but a pair bought together through hard luck, and will to prove everybody wrong. No one will see them coming or the world they will change.

I absolutely loved this story and I found the storyline to be really interesting. I enjoyed the way that the two main characters had to work together for the campaign they were working on and the way that they got together. Samantha Chase did a wonderful job capturing the chemistry between these two characters. I really liked this story and cant wait to read more from this series.
