Concludes the series from always-reliable K. J. Parker. An intelligent, fun and engaging read, Volume 3 offers a fine finale. Any fan of Parker’s other work will likely find much to like, here, as TWO OF SWORDS has all the hallmarks of what makes the author’s work so great. After finishing this, I still prefer his shorter books (novellas), but can’t deny his gift for storytelling. Recommended.
K J Parker concludes his Two of Swords trilogy with a complex plotting of different destinies across two empires. Telamon is an assassin and commissioner for the Craftsmen who oppose the empires and Oida, the musician, keeps popping up to work with or save her. Turns out he is a relative of the two emperors as is his brother, who hates him. There is a schism in the craftsmen. One side orders Telamon to kill Oida; they fake his death. No one knows who stands where. Read and enjoy.
