This was a decent story and I somewhat enjoyed both the hero and the heroine, Rio and Celeste. However, nothing really stood out making it a great book.
Using the official blurb, cos whatever I write comes out all kinds of wrong!
Andres “Rio” Rivera became his ICE profile years ago. Cold and calculating, he never promises anything beyond right now. But when he ends up with a cancelled flight and a shared hotel room with the secretive Celeste Patron, the fire behind Celeste’s buttoned-up exterior melts every barrier. He may only have her for one night, but that’s long enough to make her every fantasy come true.
When Celeste leaves, Rio returns to hunting a notorious cartel leader. His shock upon arresting the man is eclipsed when he discovers the woman he fell for is his daughter…and she’s pregnant with Rio’s baby.
I was thinking, before I started this book, I really need a down and dirty book. One with instant powerful attraction and a good deal of heat, maybe a scorcher, just to lose myself in.
And boy did this deliver!
Celeste's attraction to Rio is instant and extremely powerful. her alter ego Vix strongly approves of Celeste's choice! They get their down and dirty on early in the book, and once they get their wires uncrossed, and Celeste realizes that Rio is trying to keep her safe, they get it on again! Phew!!
Other than the scorching heat level, the fact that Rio is after Celeste's father for Cartel crimes, and that he might not actually be responsible for those crimes, I figured really quickly who might really be. I did not think he would put Celeste's life in danger. Surprised at that bit!
This is, from what I see, book 3 in the series. I did not know that before I went in, so I saw some future stories playing in my head as I read this one. But it appears all that plotting and planning was for nothing, since the pair I set up together, have their own, SEPARATE books! I would like to read them, especially if they are as hot as this one!
A very well written, well needed....

Temptation and Treachery was the best book I've read in awhile!! I figured this would be a typical romance (nothing wrong with those- I'm a fan) but this book also had a fantastic story & interesting side characters.
Temptation and Treachery is the 3rd book in the Dangerous Desires series but can be read as a stand alone. I look forward to reading the first 2 books next.

Temptation and Treachery is a big hot mess. The only thing it had going for it was Rio, the hero. The premise is good, too, it just wasn't executed well.
Celeste is a blogger with an alter ego named Vix. Vix does all the bold, adventurous, fun things Celeste wishes she could do. When she sees a hot GQ looking guy in a suit on a flight, she tries to take an on the down low pic of him from her seat, but of course, Rio notices. As an ICE agent, he's trained to be really observant. And he had noticed the beautiful blonde already. When they get the chance to spend some time together, thanks to a cancelled flight, they can't help themselves and are soon steaming up the sheets. They have a strong connection, both in bed and out, or so Rio thinks, so when they part, and she promises to call him as soon as she's done seeing her father, he thinks his regimented life of all work just may be coming to an end. Weeks later with no call from Celeste, though, Rio's back to working all the time, wondering what went wrong and why Celeste never called. Imagine his surprise when he and his team raid the Ayala drug cartel's compound, and Celeste is there, looking tan and fit. And...surprise, she's pregnant! Oops...
This all sounds fun and exciting, but what was actually written, is a muddled, confusing, quite frankly, boring, mess. Celeste's alter ego takes over halfway into sentences and it's really confusing. When I first started reading and Vix kept popping up, I didn't even realize she was supposed to be an alter ego and that she was all in Celeste's mind. She's not really an alter ego in the familiar sense, as Celeste does not ever morph into her, except in her blog. In reality, Vix is all in her mind, she never comes out to play and makes Celeste alter her behavior or anything like that. So, for her name to suddenly pop up as if Vix were a real person, doing real things, was more than confusing, it was downright weird and distracting. Honestly, Temptation and Treachery would have been better off without Vix, she served no purpose in the story except to confuse the reader. She didn't help Celeste act differently, she resided solely in Celeste's mind, so had no place in the reality of the story.
While I liked Rio, and thought that their chemistry was really hot, Celeste is a complete dud. She's boring, makes really stupid decisions, and is not an equal match to the strong, sexy Rio. I was expecting a really exciting, maybe a little angsty, thrilling romantic suspense. What I got was a hot hero, a boring heroine, and a really confusing, unnecessary alter ego. I'd advise you skip this one if you're looking for a good romantic suspense story.
Celeste and Rio happen to meet on a flight but after it was rerouted and they ended up together for the night they took advantage of their attraction. They both went on with their lives but ended up meeting again with Rio learned who Celeste really was and that there was something they made that night. Their story was a Romance suspense type of Love story.

Nothing and no-one has been able to distract ICE agent Andres 'Rio' Rivera from his mission of taking down the bad guys. However, sharing a hotel room with Celeste Patron after a cancelled flight brings about feelings he never imagined he'd have for a woman. Yet, after going their separate ways and Rio discovering that Celeste is the daughter of the mob boss he's after, will she be able to forgive him for coming back into her life the way he does or will her secret keep them apart?
When I read the blurb to this book I was expecting a bit more action and a bit more suspense, but instead this story was shorter in length than I expected, which was a bit disheartening. Then there was the way this story started, which had me a tad confused when it came to the heroine. Why couldn't she just be herself instead of an alter ego when she blogged? However, I did enjoy the moment the hero and heroine met. Certainly, their playful banter had me smiling, because the hero knows what the heroine was doing.
As for the dialogue, it was intense due to the main characters back stories and everything the heroine goes through, which is proven because of what she goes through due to who her father is and those that are determined to come out on top by using Celeste. Will Celeste and her father realize what's going on before it's too late? Yet, I didn't warm up to either main character completely until they both found out the truth about in each other, which leads to Celeste believing she'd been tricked by Rio. Did he meet her because of who her father is? While the hero, I loved how much the fallout affected him when it came to Celeste believing he betrayed her, as he has to work very hard to get back in her good graces because the heroine isn't all that forgiving. I also liked how dedicated the hero was to his job and the lengths he was willing to go to for Celeste when it came to her family situation and the touch of danger she faces because of it.
Overall, I did like this book where the chemistry between this couple was strong; the romance hot; and the ending had me sympathizing with the heroine because of what happens with her family. I also enjoyed how things ended for this couple, as Celeste needed Rio in her life, especially when she had no-one else to turn to for protection. Something that she'd desperately need after what happened to her father who has been protecting her all her life. I would recommend Temptation and Treachery by Sahara Roberts, if you're looking for a quick read; and if you enjoy the opposites attract trope or books by authors Samanthe Beck, Rebecca Brooks, Julie Particka and Brooklyn Skye.

Review:
There are lots of twists and turns, action and a surprise thrown in, in this super sexy romance.
In this stand alone title we have a couple who meet on a plane and then spend a sexy night together because of bad weather. They go their separate ways with promises to keep in touch. Weeks later they both get surprises when they come back together when Rio and his group take down Celeste's father. There are other surprises but I won't mention them. Stuff gets more dramatic and dangerous from there. It does have a HEA for the hero and heroine that is super sweet.
Well, I lied. I just found that this part of a series. Though the series is centered around the group Rio works for. I found this a complete contained story that can be read alone. This is the first time I have read this Author and she did a great job of creating an interesting story and characters that kept me engaged until the end. The one thing I will say is, is that I think the story could have been done without Celeste's alter ego, blog persona, Vix. I don't think that part was really necessary to the story, but that is just my opinion. Otherwise a great story.
Very entertaining read!

This is the first book I've read by this author and it really is a great book too. Very well written with brilliant characters that you like which makes you want them to get the happy ending and great secondary characters too. All in all a very enjoyable read and I would recommend this book to everyone to give it a go both the author and this book
I couldn't get into this book mostly because of the weird alternating for half the book between Celeste and her alter Vix. It was too much and by the time it stopped I just didn't care what was going on take out the alter viewpoint it could be a good story.
temptation and treachery finds ice agent río getting tangled up with the daughter of the cartel boss he's been tracking for years. their meeting is entirely coincidental, and neither of them has any idea how intertwined their lives are. the chemistry between the two leads makes the story.
from the moment they meet, ending up in bed is a foregone conclusion. it doesn't matter how crazy or improbable the circumstances that bring them together are. the need they feel for each other strips away reason and their inhibitions. and for 24 hours they are lost in each other.
they go their separate ways, only to meet up in the worst possible circumstances. río finally has a bead on his target and celeste happens to be collateral damage. finding her again in a drug lord's safe house wrecks him. and when he learns her identity he doesn't know what to think or how to feel.
things get even crazier for them as they figure out that there is an unknown subject behind some of the attacks that río is investigating. but one thing remains true throughout the ordeal, it might be instalust with a side of instalove, but it's also undeniable.
**I received a copy of Temptation and Treachery from Net Galley in exchange for a voluntary and honest review**
Temptation and Treachery by Sahara Roberts was a short read however I had a hard time getting into the story line of Celeste?Victoria due to her alter persona Vix who she blogged online as.
Celeste (Victoria) has an instant attraction with a passenger on her flight but when they end up in another city due to weather and their plane can't land. With no car rentals, and only one room plus no luggage for Celeste they share the room and a one night stand. But after leaving each other she never expects to see Rio again so when he shows up at her father's house (Who the Drug Cartel Kingpin) with his strike team. There was some interesting points but I couldn't get the Purr that she had during sex.
Andres "Rio" Rivera is in charge of a strike team who wants to take down the biggest Mexican drug cartel kingpin. Little does he know that the woman he has a one night stand with is his daughter. But she doesn't know all of what her father does and when she ends up pregnant and taken by the team who does she meet again but Rio.
There is a plot twist towards the end that wasn't surprising but does wrap up the story. So all in all with the epilogue on Rio and Celeste with their child I'd give the book a 3.8 star rating.
The title certainly describes the story to a T. Tempting story.
Celeste is a blogger who gained some social media success by taking selfies with attractive men and posting the pics to her website. When she's aboard a plane and sets her eyes on the hottie (Rio) down the aisle, Celeste can't help but take full advantage of the view.
It was difficult to warm up to this story (in the beginning) because Celeste had an alter ego, Vix, who directed some of Celeste's inner monologues and I didn't enjoy that element. At all. Luckily, that alter ego POV diminished midway through the story and was completely absent towards the end.
Issues?
This is a romantic suspense story but the plot didn't hold my interest as strongly and the writing style was choppy, especially towards the middle of the book. The transition between scenes was confusing at times and I had to re-read some areas to make sure I hadn't missed any obvious details. The character development felt weak and I didn't connect with the main characters. Then there was that string of side characters tossed in...
Gatlin, Kris, Angel, Bud, Damian, Kari, Parker--all of those characters were tossed in to create a team environment and support Rio's agent status, but they were all one-dimensional and forgettable.
The upside?
This story was fast-paced, short, and the epilogue was very cute. If you don't mind a female protagonist who "purrs" during intercourse and foreplay, then you won't mind the steamy times scenes.
