secret games continues the tropical temptation series and pits event planner, zoe burkhart against contractor, tate carrington. when they first meet at the resort bar they have no idea who the other person is. but being strangers doesn't matter. the crazy sexual chemistry is all that matters.
even after they realize that they will need to work together to make sure the construction on the chapel of zoe's latest wedding event goes off without a hitch—even though the special ordered wood will not arrive on time to allow that to happen—it doesn't take much for zoe and tate to find themselves tangled up in each other's arms.
there's no staying away from each other, even knowing the risk their relationship is given that they technically work together. before they can head off into the sunset for their own happily every after, tate has some serious family baggage to deal with. and clearing things up with his father will be what makes his able to take steps to a future with zoe.
this was a quick, steamy read. perfect for the beach, if you're looking for a vacation read, consider this.
I couldn't get into this book. I tried a few times and I just couldn't.

Book Boyfriend: 💋💋💋
Tate Carrington comes from oil money yet he doesn’t want to be a part of the family business. He branches out on his own to start a construction company because he loves to create things with his hands. WINK, he’s good with his hands… Of course he is good looking, built and has a good heart. But Tate had a hard childhood and doesn’t realize the lasting effects until he meets Zoe. Tate is a runner. He runs from his problems and doesn’t look back. Zoe makes him face those problems and want to move forward without the baggage.
Strong Female Lead: 💋💋💋
Zoe Burkhart is one tough cookie. Her dad left when she was young because her mom had a mental illness and he was tired of dealing with it. He offered to take Zoe with him and his new girlfriend but Zoe felt loyalty to her mom. She stuck around and helped her mom emotionally and financially as much as she could. It doesn’t seem like Zoe likes her job very much but she does it because most of the money goes to pay for her mom’s treatment at a specialized facility. She is independent, loyal and, when around Tate, enjoys living an adventurous life.
Plot: 💋💋💋
This is a quick read so the plot is not that deep. It was easy to follow and pretty predictable. The author tried to add character depth with the woes of their pasts, but it didn’t really make my heart go “ah” or my soul say “yes!”. The plot is straight-forward and doesn’t require a lot of thought which can be good at times when reading. It’s not the type of book that you get immersed in the story and have a hard time stopping.
Steamy Factor: 💋💋💋
There are some definite steamy scenes but nothing terribly descriptive that’ll make you blush. Tate and Zoe are pretty adventurous when it comes to sex and like the idea of people being around that could catch them. They have great physical chemistry that heats up the pages.
Overall:💋💋💋
This book is a quick read with some steam. It won’t give you all the feels but it’s a good “rebound’ book – a book that doesn’t require you to think or get emotionally involved in the characters and plot. Quick and relatively enjoyable.
I loved Zoey and Tate and this story was super fun and wicked hot which I loved I know this story is not something new but it was a fun read.
Wow a brilliant story by Suzanne Rock and what a book. You really need to go and get this book. I don't like given anything away from the story so all I'm going to say your going to love this story and the characters in the storyline and end it there. Totally deserves the 5 stars and really excited to see what else this author does in her future books. Would recommend
It's really hard to write this review...I can't say it was great, but I also can't say it's terrible...this story leaves you somewhere in between.
Zoe and Tate start their relationship as a one night of fun, which turns into spending a lot nights of fun.
They both have their reasons why they don't want to open up to each other
<b>"We're not so different, you and I." "How so?"
"You say that all of your life you have been running from your family responsibilities, but I have also been running from mine. I used the excuse of this job to keep from visiting with my mom. Seeing her is painful, almost too painful sometimes." </b>
When truths are discovered Zoe has difficult time with trusting Tate. But he is determined not to let her go. <b> Never had Tate felt so complete or so connected to another person. He didn't know how or when it happened, but Zoe had come to mean the world to him, and he was never letting her go.</b>
This whole story is good in it's content but the delivery is a bit lacking. I can't say what was missing - I guess I wish it to be a bit more angsty. Maybe that would persuade me to give it more stars. But now I can give it only 3.5*

We meet Zoe's who is an event planner and is struggling with her temper having to deal with a bridezilla. We also have Tate, a too hot used to be playboy now a construction boss, who also has to deal with this bridezilla. They deal with it together, and just imagine how.
This is a romance that everyone wishes for at least once. The emotions that Zoe has to deal with have taken over her life, she needs to find a way to disappear from herself for a little while and she just might have found the answer in a total stranger; Tate. The chemistry created between these two is steamy, romantic, and fun. Thank you NetGalley and Suzanne Rock for allowing me to read this book in advance and write a honest review.
I'm in a place I don't like to be with a book and that's the middle of the road. The plot was ok, I really had a rough time relating to the characters and while I love a steamy, hot book this one was a tad much. It seemed like it was filler and didn't need to be. That said....
Zoe is an event planner at a resort on an island and is dealing with a celeb bride from hell. The woman is driving her nuts, so in a free moment one evening at the bar a friendly, handsome gentleman sits next to her and they start chatting and the two of them decide to blow off some steam.
Wow do they ever. Little does she know, he's the man in charge of building the wedding chapel that is still a hole in the ground and threatens her mental health and her job. She needs the job to maintain her benefits to care for her mother who is in a special needs facility. So imagine her surprise the next day when she meets her one nighter at the meeting with the building contractor!!
Tate comes from money, there's a big backstory there you have to read to appreciate and he's trying and doing pretty well to make it on his own. He's having trouble on this job because it's an island, the wood the bride requested is rare and has to be shipped in, etc and on and on.... so he does his best to appease Zoe, while also bedding her. I use the word bedding loosely.
These two are not without their falling out either. There are things that Zoe hasn't been privy too, that she should have and well..... read the book and see for yourself.

- I'm at the middle road with this story. I enjoyed it well however i didn't feel connected to it in the way I'd like to have been.
Zoe's a struggling party planner at the end of her tether with a bridezilla making her wish she could just up and leave.
Tate a smoking hot construction boss is also trying to please a bridezilla set out on wanting the impossible.
I enjoyed both characters well. The storyline isn't the most original but the author wrote it well. I feel like parts of the story are rushed making it hard to connect with the emotions that are being portrayed.
I enjoyed it enough, it's short and sweet with a happy ending. The chemistry is great between the characters and the added bonus of good side characters helped that. I can't say I'd rush to read it again however I'm not mad at it either.
I haven't read anything other than this from this author and I'm very intrigued at what else she has written!.
