This book is hilarious. I was cracking up reading this book. The battle between Cole and Kiersten is too funny. Kiersten just got promoted to work with the most difficult boss but she needs the money. When her financial situation changes so did her work ethics. As they spend time together they discover so much more about each other. Recommended read.

One of the most entertaining books I've read this year! Hilariously funny with some amazing characters. I hope we are going to see some of theses secondary characters in the future!! The overall story is fresh and interesting with a quick easy flow. Seriously everything about this one will leave you smiling. From the names Cole comes up with for Kiersten to the office antics and Kiersten's day out with Cole's mother you will be laughing so hard you'll have tears in your eyes.

This is an absolute must read! I highly recommend it.

Three and a half stars.

This reminded me of one of my favourite RomCom films, How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days. Kiersten and Cole have been in a mild flirtation since she started work for the impossible billionaire - I LMAO when he made her lay out his underwear each day as well as his clothes to match his diary activities! But things really escalate when she and her two roommates win the lottery. Cole's last assistant quit when he asked her to rearrange her wedding day (the day before) because he needed her to attend a meeting with him. In order to avoid a similar situation Kiersten and Cole write some additional clauses into her employment contract which penalise her if she quits but penalise him if he fires her. Now that she has nothing to lose, Kiersten decides Cole should suffer for being such a terrible boss and thinks the best way to do that is to behave so badly that he has to fire her. So she behaves more and more outrageously every day. Unfortunately, the support staff use the group calendar to run a book on how long Cole will last before he fires her - and Cole finds out. Then there is a war between them as each one pulls more and more outrageous stunts.

It was silly and flirty and funny and I loved it.

Then the two of them got together and there seemed to be a lot of sex. It felt that two-thirds to three-quarters of the book had been the war between Cole and Kiersten so the author (maybe) felt that she needed to cram the obligatory four sex scenes per book into the final quarter - that's how it felt to me. Maybe I'm just getting old but I seem to raise this complaint nearly every time I review a book!

Anyway this is clearly the set up for a series, Cole is friends with a group of other billionaires who play poker together so I expect to see each of them fall in love in due course.

Overall, I enjoyed this war of the sexes and look forward to reading other books in the series.

Again Ms Archer has taken me to a place were I could immerse myself in hilarity, romance, and an ingeniously witty and smart story. The creative extent that Kiersten goes to in the name of revenge, will keep you laughing page after page...especially with Cole's reactions to the levels she'll go to in the name of winning at all costs. His circumventing her maneuvering brings its own level of comedic outcomes at every turn.

With Cole and Kiersten you have employer and employee who are drawn to each other through the premise of one upmanship with hilarious and unexpected results. They both have met their match in the name of not letting the other get the upper hand. Since Cole knew what she was up to all along, though not knowing what was were Kiersten’s motives, the unexpected was always just around the corner...that brought new meaning to creative payback.

I continue to watch for Ms Archer’s stories, I know I’ll always dislike having to say goodbye to characters like Kiersten and Cole, that are unforgettable.

69 Million Things I Hate About You is a cute, funny story. I even laughed out loud at some parts. I liked that as Kiersten was exacting her revenge, that she was conscious of not doing any lasting damage. This is the first book I've read by Kira Archer but I'm interested in reading others.

69 Million Things I Hate About You, Kira Archer

Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews

Genre:  Romance

I really enjoyed the humour in this story, both Cole and Kiersten have some cracking lines that had me sniggering. I think the Amish County weekend was my favourite _ I could just picture the expressions, the looks on peoples faces.

Its not heart-stopping drama, but then this is the Indulgence imprint, more about feelgood books and happy endings than anger and angst. It is a teeny bit predictable in a couple of places but that's fine, didn't spoil the story.

The characters were good, Kiersten and her friends, Cole and his mates, his mum - what a great lady, I loved the Harry and Krispin scene, what fun that was.
I liked the way all the staff were in one what was going on, that Cole had a view on what but not why, and that Kiersten didn't know that he knew....it all added up to a fun read, a way to leave dull everyday problems behind, and do just what the imprint asks, Indulge in a story to make you feel good.

Stars: four, a fun escape that will make you smile

This was an interesting and different kind of story. Two very intelligent people who seem totally different......arrogant rich boss....efficient, not so rich assistant.... totally not made for each other...right?? Through a series of very creative ways to try and get fired, Kiersten screws with Cole. The game is on providing many laughs. Read this story and see you wins!!!

Cole Harrington is a gorgeous, demanding, workaholic billionaire, who tells his long suffering assistant that she should reschedule her wedding, which she has been planning for over a year, as it is in he same date as a conference in which he is the keynote speaker. She quits and hand over the keys to second assistant, Kiersten Abbott. The job of the assistant is to make his job easier. Cole is immediately attracted to her, but he has a policy of never mixing business with pleasure and because of past experience he doesn't trust that a woman would be attracted to him- only his money. Yet, he does seem to enjoy playing with her, by never calling her by her correct name. After about 6 months of being run ragged, Kiersten and her two best friends win a lottery for 68 million dollars. But instead of quitting Kiersten decides to start messing with Cole and force him to fire her. All three girls work for the same company, and while they hire a lawyer to get the legalities in order before they claim their prize, The Termination Pool begins at the company as to whether Kiersten will quit or Cole will fire her and the date. Cole catches wind of the Pool and so the games begin. It has been a long time since I have laughed so much reading a book, which is one of the reason I gave it 5 stars. I definitely recommend this book, especially to someone who could use a good laugh. And of course there is a HEA.

I received a copy of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley.

Kiersten works as assistant to the impossibly demanding Cole Harrington (his previous assistant quit when he expected her to move her wedding at the last minute to accommodate him). Then Kiersten wins $69 million in the lottery, but, rather than quitting her job, decides to enjoy herself by pushing Cole to fire her for unacceptable behaviour. Cole finds out that she is trying to get fired (but not why) and fights back by putting up with her pranks, forcing Kiersten to escalate them.

I found this entertaining, especially the evening Kiersten spends with Cole's mother and the poker weekend she arranges for Cole and his friends in a very unlikely location. Cole seems to undergo something of a personality change (from utterly unreasonably demanding to caring and pampering) during the book, which was perhaps not entirely convincing. This would make a good movie.

What a wonderful, hilarious rom com! Loved every bit of the book!

I received this book free through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
I found the premise to be interesting and the characters at first to be fun. After a while, the fighting and one up manship between the two seemed a bit much and it really seemed not to be worth it why either one would stay in the arrangement without quitting/firing the other.

Received an advance reader copy in exchange for a fair review. This is hands down one of the best books that I have read in a very long time. I didn't want to put it down. This is the story of a woman named Kirsten who is the personal assistant to a very, very wealthy Cole Harrison. She does everything for him and is on call pretty much 24/7. After winning a substantial amount of money she decides that instead of quitting she'll have some fun with her boss first and try to get fired instead. That way it's a little bit of payback and she'll receive a nice severance package too. The things that she says and does are so out of character for her. I can't even tell you how many times I was reading and would start giggling out loud. I was able to vividly imagine all the scenarios. GREAT book. I hope they make a movie from this book.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! It was very funny, sweet and sexy! My favorite part was Kiersten's night out with Cole's mom! Hilarious! This book is a great take on the boss/assistant trope. I'm looking forward to reading more by Kira Archer.

This book was so much fun to read.
Keirstin or Krispen as she is called by Cole Harrington the billionaire she is Assistant to. When she wins 69 Million dollars in the lotto instead of quitting she decides to have a little fun and exact revenge on her boss.
However Cole knows what she is up to and it is game on for both of them. Keirstin to get fired and Cole expecting her to quit. Some of the best scenes are with Cole's mother when Keirstin and her end up a strip club. How long can they hold out until one of them folds. Their is even an office pool to see who will outlast who. You won't be disappointed.

Fun fun fun read !

When Cole Harrington's perfect personal assistant, Kristen Abbott starts trying to get herself fired, Cole is perplexed. What he doesn't know is that she's just won 69 million in Lotto. The whole office is betting on who will crack first, and Cole is not going to lose. The worse Kristen behaved, the more things heated up between them.
This was such a fun read that I just couldn't put it down. I have never laughed so much while reading a book as I did reading this one. The spin in boss/secretary romance is original and enjoyable.
I would definitely recommend this book to all and I look forward to reading more in the series.

When Kiersten Abbott gets promoted to her boss' main personal assistant after the previous one gets fired for wanting time off to get married, she knows it's going to be difficult. Cole Harrington expects his assistants to be at his beck and call, no matter the time of day or night, and many of his demands cross tthe line between PA and mother. Winning 69 million dollars in the lotto allows Kiersten the freedom to walk away from her entitled boss any time she wants to, but what's the fun in that? Why not see how far she can push him since all he can do is fire her from a job she no longer needs? Unfortunately, Cole finds his mild mannered assistant's sudden rebellion intriguing, and he decides to fight fire with fire and make Kiersten quit. However, the blossoming attraction between the pair hints at something more than acting out behind their game. Can they break through their misconceptions of each other and find a HEA?

Generally I prefer historical romance to contemporary, but the description of 69 Million Things I Hate About You drew me in. I enjoy the hate to love dynamic (or I hate you so much I love you), and Kiersten promised to be a fiery heroine who wasn't going to be a complete door mat. Billionaires aren't a turn on for me, but Kira Archer combined the trope with enough other intriguing elements that I was willing to give it a try.

Both Kiersten and Cole display lives outside their work relationship including close bonds with friends. Cole has had bad experiences with women wanting to date him solely for his pocket book, but the story side steps the evil ex trope and makes Kiersten different because she's willing to stand up to him, not because she's super pure, sweet, and has a magic vagina that can heal the hero's wounded ego/heart/body/etc. Admittedly, she only can show her true personality when she can afford to lose her job, but I found that incredibly relatable (some days I have opinions I have to keep to myself). The wit and intelligence it takes to concoct her increasingly elaborate pranks made me love her, and I'm sure hanging out with a real life Kiersten would be entertaining and fun.

Cole also has enough backstory and depth to fell like a whole human being although one of the critical reveals occurred a little too late in the story for me to fully care. He does show signs of being an alpha male (I think you have to be to reach billionaire status), but he also knows how to care for another human being deeply and allow agency. Cole's billionaire veneer also hides charitable causes that are close to his heart, and he doesn't just donate because that's what rich people do; he genuinely wants to find solutions for the problems he advocates for.

After reading so much erotica the sex scenes between Kiersten and Cole, when they finally occur (they have to work for it; the main focus in their game of pushing buttons) feel a little mild, but 69 Million Things I Hate About You is a quirky revenge to love tale not another book jumping on the popularity of 50 Shades of Grey (although there is a brief reference). I did appreciate that Kiersten and Cole were equals in their sexual encounters, and Archer doesn't throw in any reference to how many partners either has had. Both have dated other people, but it's treated as something normal for a pair of late 20 somethings.

My only major quibble is that the big conflict at the end of the book felt like it came out of no where. There wasn't enough set up for me to fully understand why the situation mattered so much, and while I was relieved when Kiersten and Cole worked past it to realize a full relationship, I didn't appreciate the stakes.

Overall, 69 Million Things I Hate About You isn't going to change your life, but it's a fun, uplifting read that will brighten your day. Watching Cole and Kiersten's back and forth kept me smiling, and it did warm my heart when they finally earned their HEA. Now I need to go buy a lottery ticket...

This book was a cute read, very light and easy. It was your abundantly common mix of a rich man who falls for the poor girl, little does he know that she is also rich. I found it a little bit predictable but I loved all of the banter between the two main characters.

Keirsten is all of us, working hard and barely getting the credit she deserves for all of it. Cole is your typical Alpha male that is rich and runs the world but couldn’t do it without his loyal assistant Keirsten. I want to point out that her going to his house every week to pick out his clothes for the week is just plain weird and makes him look like a man-child, not a grown man. There was some fifty shades of Grey -esque parts that they actually pointed out and identified as such which I found hilarious and awesome. I am sure if they wouldn’t have done that then SOMEONE would have said it was a knock-off. Very clever, since not every billionaire-falls-in-love-with-poor-girl means it's a FSOG copycat.

There was some fluff, I kind of fast forwarded my reading at those parts when Keirsten is talking to herself or her friends and same with Cole. It was just too much. I think the reader would have figured out what they were thinking without all of that. All of the competition between the two made for a really compelling read.

Please note: I received a copy of 69 MILLION THINGS I HATE ABOUT YOU from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you to the publisher and author.

Five stars and here’s why:

Loved it! You can tell right away from the title that this book is going to be a great story and keep you entertained at the same time. Kira Archer doesn’t disappoint!

I read this book in one sitting. I couldn’t put it down. I found myself laughing out loud and there were so many great moments, well, you just have to read the story and discover them yourself. Each character in this book is well developed and I enjoyed every word, line, and page. After Kiersten wins the lottery, she tries to win an office pool to see how long it will take her insufferable boss to fire her. Cole, said boss, figures things out and decides two can play the same game. And what a game it is! Such an entertaining story. The sexy scenes keep you turning the pages and that’s when you realize, there’s a fine line between hate and love. Ms. Archer rocked it. Highly recommend.
