What a stunning beginning to a new series! I was held captive from the first few paragraphs and was not let go until the ending, which I did not guess at all! Izzy St. John sees her partner gunned down at a stake out that went sideways and from then on, things escalate at a dizzying speed. Many of her siblings are in law enforcement also, including her mother and trying to solve this murder has attracted the attention of a decidedly bad element. With her life on the line more than once and with the help of a handsome childhood friend, Izzy is determined to solve this case.

This was a powerful book, well written, believable characters, plots, all tremendous! The reader is certain to want to hang onto something because this book flies at warp speed with suspense all the way. I look forward to the next in the series. Loved every single moment.

Fast past novel that is impossible to put down until you've finished it.
The St. John squad is a close-knit family that you just can't help but love.

Izzy St. John is brave and compassionate and hungry for justice after the murder of her partner. Even though we get to hang out with Kevin only through a few pages, the emotions described are palpable and you can't help but feel as if it's your loss too. And this is what kept me turning the pages, the connection between the characters and the reader created by the author. I always look more forward towards this than a page-turning mystery. Even though the book ended up having both.
Izzy partners up with Ryan Marshall to try to capture a gang responsible for cop murders while trying to figure out how it's connected to Kevin's murder. Both have been through some traumatic event but this book isn't much about personal letting go of these traumas as much as finding conclusion through lawful justice. Even though I appreciate personal development and character growth, this "lack" didn't bother me because the honest description of a law-enforcement day-to-day life was so well done that made me appreciate more and more these people who put there lives in line to protect us. All in all, I didn't feel like there was anything missing that would have helped me appreciate the story more.

I'm assuming there's gonna be a book for each sibling and I'm looking forward to each one.

A hard hitting, nail-biting, good as they get thrill ride!

Isabelle (Izzy) St. John has joined several others in her family to pursue a career in law enforcement. Her mother is the chief of police and with three brothers and two sisters, they make for a loud and interesting bunch. During a stake out with her partner that goes south, Izzy barely escapes with her own life; unfortunately, her partner does not get out so lucky. She begins to pursue what happened with a determination like never before. She teams up with Ryan, her late partner’s brother, and together they chase lead after lead to get justice and hopefully put away the bad guys. Her family worries for her safety while she worries her heart won’t be able to handle the road she is going down with Ryan.

It is so nice to start the year out with such a fun thrilling read. Oath of Honor is by far the best I have read from Lynette Eason. It is fast paced, witty, and filled with edge-of-your-seat action until the very last page. This is also one of the most realistic works I have read from an author in a long time. The timing of events along with the motivation behind each action made for a thrilling story that I was unable to put down. As the beginning of a new series, I see such potential for where these characters can go for the next books. Ryan and Izzy sizzle together and it is an easy romance to happen; its natural, just like each step they take to solve the case feels natural instead of forced. With so many in the St. John family, it will be fun to see how the others stories unfold. I recommend this to readers that enjoy a fast paced, action filled story that they will be unable to put down.

I know when I read a Lynette Eason book I'm in for an intense and thrilling ride full of suspense and intrigue that's impossible to put down. I've gotta say, Oath of Honor is Eason's best book to date and is, hands down, my favorite. I was hooked from the very beginning. It was very fast-paced and I could never guess what was coming next. The action starts quickly and consistently builds to the thrilling conclusion.

We're introduced to a lot of characters in the beginning, which was a bit intimidating, but it wasn't long before I became familiar with everyone. I really loved the big family dynamic and cast of characters. The next book, Called to Protect, can't come out soon enough! Oath of Honor was a fantastic start to the Blue Justice series. I highly, highly recommend it!

What an exciting start to a new series! This was one of the best books I’ve read lately. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Full of danger and suspense, there were a couple twists that really surprised me. Reading this book made me even more thankful for the men and women in law enforcement who strive to make a difference at great personal risk.

The St. Johns reminded me of the family on the tv show “Blue Bloods” as most of them are in law enforcement and Mom is the Chief of Police. Izzy’s family loves and cares for one another and they’ve been close friends with the Marshall family forever. When one family hurts, the other hurts. Things get complicated when disturbing information comes to light and Izzy must decide between family loyalty and her oath of honor. Things go from bad to worse as Izzy experiences loss of friends, property, and safety. While I think a complete breakdown would have been appropriate, she holds up under the strain amazingly well with Ryan Marshall’s help and friendship. I look forward to getting to know more of the St. John family in upcoming books.

Thank you to Revell for providing me with a free copy of this book. I was not required to leave a positive review. All opinions are my own.

In typical Eason fashion this story draws you right in and does not let go until you get to the end. It was filled with heart pounding suspense, great family interactions, sad moments and justice sought. I do have to say that even though I knew Izzy’s partner was going to die (it says so on the back cover), I had to take a moment to mourn his death when it happened. After meeting him in just a few paragraphs I was drawn to him and loved his interactions with Izzy.

After the initial murder, Izzy teams up with her partner’s brother, Ryan, to catch the killer. Along the way someone is after Izzy and she has quite a few intensely scary incidents that had my heart beating in fear. Each time she survived I breathed a sigh of relief. Their investigation seems to lead to more questions than answers and at times it seemed like there were multiple cases going on but in the end they all interweaved providing answers. I was taken by surprise at some of the connections. I was a bit overwhelmed at the number of characters introduced, it was difficult at first to keep everyone straight and figure out how they connected.

Izzy was dealing with so much, she just lost her long-time friend and partner, she has to decide what to do about her brother’s strange actions, a hit man is after her, a bad someone from her past has returned and now she is starting to see her partner’s brother differently. Ryan is also dealing with a ton, he just lost his brother and while investigating his murder connections to his other deceased brother’s death are revealed. He has been experiencing new feelings for Izzy for a while but never acted on them, now they are spending much more time together and when Izzy’s life is threatened he realizes just how much she means to him. Both were very strong characters able to put their personal emotions aside to do their job and seek justice for Kevin’s murder. I really enjoyed the interactions between Ryan and Izzy, the progression of their relationship from friends to more than friends felt natural.

Overall the story kept me on my toes trying to figure out who the guilty people were and what was going on with Izzy’s brother. I am intrigued to learn more about Izzy’s law enforcement family members and hopefully get to catch up with Izzy and Ryan in future books.

Eason has given readers a somewhat complicated plot involving the mafia, gang warfare, and the police. It has plenty of action and some intense suspense. There is also a hint of romance.

Izzy is the focus of the story. She is on the Columbia, South Carolina police force. Several of her siblings are also on the force. Her mother, in fact, is the city's chief of police. Izzy's rookie partner, Kevin, makes a rash mistake and gets killed. She is devastated but wants to find the killer. Kevin's older brother, a policeman and Izzy's good friend, has her back.

I had difficulty liking Izzy. I don't like it when suspense is caused by the heroine doing something dumb. That happened a couple of times in this novel. At one point Izzy is so obvious the bad guy pulls a gun on her, seeing the “tell,” as it is called. Izzy made rash moves to the point that others had to control her. In general, she makes women police officers look too emotional and ineffective. I would much rather have had a strong female lead.

That being said, this is a good police procedure novel that is more character driven than investigative technique driven.

I received a complimentary egalley of this book from the publisher. My comments are an independent and honest review.

-‘“Derek! You know how this works. I could lose my job.” She sounded like a broken record, but he wasn’t listening.
“And I could wind up dead if the wrong person reads that report.”
“Like who?”
He pointed at her, his green eyes snapping. “Keep me out of the report, Izzy, unless you want to see me dead. This is way bigger than you can even imagine. Watch your back and keep your mouth shut.”-

Intrigue. Suspense. Non-stop Action. This story has it all. It is a clean Christian suspense with a little bit of light romance.

When your family is “in the business” (mother is chief of police, siblings are cops, father is an attorney...), you stick together. You have each others’ backs, right? But what if one of those family members is a “dirty” cop? Then what? Who is it? Who can you trust? A partner dead. An ex-boyfriend/stalker/kidnapper is released from a psych hospital and wants to rekindle the relationship. Gang wars. The mob. Who is behind all the killings? More lives hang in the balance... Danger at every corner, surrounding them constantly. Nowhere is safe...

Great story. I highly recommend it. My heart was pounding and I had trouble putting the book down. I was hooked!

Oath of Honor is the first book in Lynette Eason's Blue Justice series. Police officer Izzy St. John watched her partner die in the line of duty, but his death opens her eyes to a much larger mystery. Teamed with the slain partner's brother and homicide detective Ryan Marshall, they face life-threatening scenarios from fires to chases and learn that even those closest to you cannot be trusted. Fans of Lynette Eason will love this new series with all its twist and turns and are eagerly anticipating the next book in the series.

I am reviewing a copy of Oath of Honor through Netgalley and Revell:
Isabelle St John is a Police officer who loves her loud and boisterous law enforcement family. She has three brothers and two sisters so she always has someone to hang out with or even to fight with. But she is sorely tested when her partner is murdered and she barely escapes the same fate herself.
Her determination to discover what happens lands her head first into a criminal organization, one that could have cops in the payroll, including someone from her family. Will she be able to find justice for her partner even if it means sending someone she loves to prison! Will she be able to guard her heart from Ryan, her partners brother, who she secretly had a crush on for five years!
Once again Lynette Eason weaves a powerful action pact suspenseful story.
I give Oath of Honor five out of five stars!
Happy Reading!

Lynette Eason is one of my favorite Christian authors. She doesn't disappoint in her latest book, Oath of Honor. I was invested in the story at the first page. It took me a bit to sort though the large assembly of characters. Izzy has a big family. But, eventually I got the hang of who is who.

The story begins when Izzy St. John and her partner go on a stakeout. After her partner is killed in a gunfire exchange, Izzy's life is changed forever. On top of having to deal with her own guilt, her partner's brother Ryan blames Izzy.

Izzy and Ryan team up to find out who was behind the shooting. During their investigation, two of Izzy's own family members are implicated for the murder. After several attempts to kill Izzy, they realize something serious is happening around them.

I definitely recommend anyone to read this book. It's exciting, fast paced and well written. I love the characters and can't wait to read more in this series.

Another awesome start to a new series from Lynette Eason

Izzy St. John comes from a large family that is dedicated to law-enforcement. She is very loyal to those she loves. When her own police officer partner thinks he has something to prove and gets himself killed, she finds herself in too deep. Izzy is sure a member of her own family is involved, but how is it possible they would fight on the wrong side of the law. When her partner's homicide detective brother Ryan shows up demanding answers from Izzy, she begins to wonder if she can hide the truth to protect her own family. Izzy and Ryan's families are very close having grown up together as neighbors, and feelings from the past begin to stir between them. Izzy wants more than anything to help Ryan find answers and bring a killer to justice. But, will doing the right thing mean turning against someone in her own family?

This was an amazing and fast-paced suspense that was impossible to put down. Make sure you have extra time when you start this book... you won't want to quit reading until the end!

OATH OF HONOR by Lynette Eason. “Blue Justice” #1 Revell Publishers
Love her books, and this new series, is packed with a murder, romance and tension. Issy loses her partner Kevin. Yes, he was a newbie, took a chance, information given to them, doesn’t seem right to her. Getting answers , makes her head swim, was a family member in on it, or one of the cops. With her on this rollercoaster is Kevin’s brother. He wants answers, she always wanted more. Love the fact, her mother is chief of police. Readers will love this new series, and anxiously awaiting book two. GivenARC by Net Galley for my voluntary review and my honest opinion.

"Oath of Honor" is a Christian romantic suspense. I liked the main characters as they were kind, thoughtful people who acted realistically when stressed but showed grace and forgiveness to others. Isabelle's partner is killed while uncovering something big, but they don't fully realize what he uncovered until the end. It turned out to be a lot more complex than it initially appeared. Izzy worked with her partner's brother to investigate the background of the warehouse since they weren't allowed to directly investigate the murder. They were interested in each other before this story and that turned into love as they worked together and supported each other through the danger and grief.

The bad guys believe that Izzy has something they want, so a huge thug kept attacking her. The suspense came from these repeated, violent attempts to get something from Izzy, the danger to people she cares about, and her questions about what, exactly, is going on. Power or money are more important than loyalty to some people, but who is corrupt? There was no sex or bad language. Overall, I'd recommend this exciting story.

Wow, Wow, Wow! As a fan of Ms. Eason’s books for many years, I was looking forward to reading this new series. Some of her previous series are some of my favorites, but I did feel like some of the books I have read more recently were just not as entertaining. However, this book is absolutely fantastic! I felt like this book was so detailed and kept me focused on the storyline throughout the book. I did not want to put this book down! Some books are just more entertaining than others and this is one of those. This book is the first in the Blue Justice series. The book focuses on a family of law enforcement officers with this book mainly examining the daughter, Isabelle. I look forward to learning more about the other siblings who I assume the other books in the series will be about. I also will enjoy learning updates on Isabelle. The storyline in the book will keep the reader guessing what will occur and who is behind the crimes that are occurring in the book. The entire book was well-written and extremely enthralling! I highly recommend this book!!! For those of you who love suspense books, this book will not disappoint. Another reason I love Ms. Eason’s books is the ability to include God, problems we all face, and life questions we all wonder into her characters’ stories.
***I was given a free electronic copy of this book from the author for an honest review. This is my honest opinion. Even though I received this copy free, I have purchased her books before.

Lynette Eason is widely popular romantic suspense author, who I have read every single one of her books and novellas. She knows what the fans of romantic suspense want. Non-stop action with a hint of romance. She is heavier on the suspense versus the romance, so if you prefer more romance than suspense or prefer fifty-fifty than she might not be the author for you. As for me, that is what I like. I think suspense should be the majority of the focus, than the romance buds along the way.
The plot for her opening book Oath of Honor to her Blue Justice series is wild. From the first chapter where we meet Isabelle as she mingles with her wild and huge family, I was engrossed in this active family. From there the mystery takes off, throwing me for a loop in every chapter. Eason is a master at ending chapters with cliff-hangers, so she allows the reader, me included, to stay up way too late, trying to finish one more chapter, but then the next thing I know, I have finished the book. Oath of Honor is no exception. I finished the book in a little over one day, and loved it.
Isabelle is a police officer with a huge family. We meet her parents and all her siblings. They're a loving family who supports each other. Isabelle fights for the right for justice for a death of a friend, and the rest of the story centers around finding that killer. Enters Ryan. Her best friend's brother and the guy she had a crush on for a long time. With the troubles arising, Ryan and Isabelle try to deny the feelings they have for each other, but like I mentioned earlier, most of the story focuses on putting together the pieces to find the murderer and bring him to justice. Not the romance.
Overall, Oath of Honor is a great introduction to a new series by Lynette Eason. With plenty of nail-biting, page-flipping moments and characters who stand out with their big families, Oath of Honor is another book for my Eason keeper shelf. I believe fans of Carrie Stuart Parks, DiAnn Mills, and Dani Pettrey will enjoy this book.
I received a complimentary copy of Oath of Honor by Lynette Eason from Revell Publishing, but the opinions stated are all my own.

A great suspense novel from author Lynette Eason. I love Lynette's style of writing, there is plenty of action, suspense and of course a little love story interweaved.
The only (tiny!) criticism I have of this book is that there are so many characters introduced and at times I found it hard to remember who was who. But still overall a very enjoyable story with a great twist in the ending.

I received a free copy of this book from the publishers in exchange for an honest review

Lynette Eason revs her Blue Justice series to full throttle with Oath of Honor. Admittedly, the names were a bit overwhelming at first (this is a big law enforcement family with several partners and connections within that brotherhood) but I caught up fairly quickly.
There are plenty of twists and turns as Izzy St. John and Ryan unearth secrets in their investigation into and Ryan’s brother’s (and Izzy’s best friend and partner’s) death.
I appreciate the history Ryan and Izzy have. A slight twist on the friends to more trope since it’s Ryan has always thought of Izzy and his kid brother’s friend. Yet, Izzy has always had a bit of a crush on Kevin’s big brother.
There are so many strings to pull in this investigation, it was difficult to guess where the next one would lead them. But that’s what made this page-turner so intense and hard to set aside.
And now that I’ve gotten to know the St. John family through one of the siblings, I’m looking forward to where the next one takes me.
