Lights. Camera. Murder? Wildwood Cove’s star turn is soured by a sneaky killer in this delicious cozy mystery from the USA Today bestselling author of The Crêpes of Wrath.

Bonus content: includes original recipes inspired by the Flip Side Pancake House menu!

With a Hollywood film crew in town to shoot a remake of the horror classic The Perishing, the residents of Wildwood Cove are all abuzz. Even Marley McKinney, owner of The Flip Side Pancake House, can overlook the fact that the lead actress, Alyssa Jayde, happens to be an old flame of her boyfriend. After all, the crew loves Marley’s crêpes—so much so that Christine, the head makeup artist, invites her onset for a behind-the-scenes tour. But when Marley arrives, the special-effects trailer is on fire . . . with Christine inside.

The cops quickly rule Christine’s death a murder, and Alyssa a suspect. Marley’s boyfriend insists that the actress is innocent, but when Marley sticks her nose into the complicated lives of The Perishing’s cast and crew, she discovers more questions than answers. It seems that everyone has a hidden agenda—and a plausible motive. And as the horror spills over from the silver screen, Marley gets a funny feeling that she may be the killer’s next victim. Review:

Marley is a smart , inquisitive and hardworking woman. As owner of The Flipside Pancake house, she has to be. She loves her business, her coworkers and Wildwood Cove in general. That is why when there is a murder in the town, she feels compelled to help find the culprit. She has helped solved other murder mysteries, so why not this one?

The characters are well developed and well rounded. I liked getting to spend more time with Marley, her employees Ivan and Sienna and her girlfriend, Lisa. I felt like there were too many characters in this book. With all of the film crew members in town it was hard for me to keep track of so many people. That is only my opinion and others readers may not agree with me. I also thought that the problems with Marley and Brett, her boyfriend, went on a little too long and seemed a little bit childish to me. Again that is only my opinion.

The writing style flows smoothly and the book is an easy read. I think the author is very talented in her descriptive writing and many of the foods that the Pancake House served sounded delicious. And the recipes that were given at the back of the book sounded really good. I thought that was a nice added touch.

The mystery had a lot of clues to sift through and enough twists and turn to make it difficult to solve. I felt like there was a few too many suspects to consider, and that goes back to having a few too many characters in the story. I also felt that the scenes where Marley confronts the killer were a little too lengthy. Again, only my opinion.

I would recommend this book to everyone that enjoys a food-based cozy. Although there were things that I felt could have been improved, I did like the book, just not as much as the other books in the series, which I loved.

I received a free copy of the book from NetGalley in exchange of a honest review. I would like to thank Netgalley and Random House Publishing Group-Alibi for the opportunity to read and review this book.

A horror movie is being filmed in Wildwood Cove and the head make up artist is killed when someone sets her trailer on fire. The murder happens early on and things never slow down after that. The third Pancake House mystery is so fast-paced that there's not much time spent at Marley's Flip Side pancake house. I'd expected the remake of The Perishing to be a significant part of the plot, but I never even found out what either the original movie or the remake was about.

This is the 3rd book in the Pancake House mysteries, and the characters are well established and familiar if you've read the previous two books. Marley owns a The Flip Side pancake house, a local diner. A film crew is in town to film a new movie, and everyone is excited to meet the stars and enjoy the Hollywood glamor. Marley is excited too, and when she meets Christine, the makeup artist, she plans a visit. When she gets there, Christine's trailer is on fire and Marley finds out she's been murdered.

The film's female co-star Alyssa is implicated, but Marley doesn't know that Alyssa is her boyfriend Brett's ex until she finds her in his arms. Brett swears he wants nothing to do with Alyssa, and swears she innocent of the murder, but Marley isn't so sure. Marley starts to investigate by hanging around the cast and crew and almost becomes a victim herself.

I really liked the plot and the characters in this book. The mystery was well thought out, and the murderer was a surprise until the end.

I highly recommend this book. Thanks to Random House Publishing Group - Alibi and NetGalley for the ARC of this book in

A film crew coming to town adds a bit of excitement to the small town of Wildwood cove....but the murder of one of the crew is more excitement than anyone wanted.
Marley and Sienna saw the fire and tried to rescue Christine, they didn't know she was already dead.
Her boyfriend Brett wants her to stay out of it. As much as Marley herself wants to stay out of it, she is drawn into the investigation by circumstances and is herself almost a victim.
This is a clever tale with plenty of suspects to choose from.....but not one of them killed her.
I have enjoyed this series from the start. Ms. Fox weaves an interesting story.
I requested and received an ARC from NetGalley to peruse.

Sarah Fox has written yet another spellbinding mystery. A film production team has arrived in town and Marley has been invited to visit one of the trailers. As she approaches it, she sees it is on fire and she pulls the lead designer from the burning trailer. Arson? Murder? A fascinating story of love, jealousy, hate and more.

This is the latest adventure in the Flip Side Pancake House cozy mystery series. I haven't read the others in the series so this was my first introduction to the well drawn, likable characters that inhabit Wildwood Cove. The story involves a movie crew arriving in this small town to film a remake of an old haunted house horror film. Things start to go wrong and murder ensues. While the plot is a fairly familiar one in the cozy genre, giving an opportunity to introduce new characters into the local scene, the mystery is well done with several credible suspects and motives. If I had read the previous books in the series, I would perhaps been a little more interested in the extraneous local characters who "popped" in and out of the story. The author did a fairly good job of explaining the back stories of these "bit players" but I couldn't ramp up any interest in them and found them a distraction. Overall, a pretty good book but I'd suggest you read the earlier books to meet Marley and crew before you read this one.

Of course I just love reading books that are a series. No big thing of me even when the reference a previous murder that was solved in an earlier book. Anyway this book is the third installment in the Pancake House Mysteries is an enjoyable read. Marley is the main character and to me is very personable and likable and fits in Wildwood Cove. Of course she has her insecurities which I am sure will come out in the later books of this series.

I thought the mystery was well done. The author provides the reader with plenty of suspects to choose from and some very mysterious motives. There were a lot of twists, turns and surprises with the mystery being resolved in a very climatic fashion. I did not guess the identity of the killer but was surprised and thought the motive and reason were really well done.

All in all this was an enjoyable read and I think the characters are starting to develop and come into their own.

The Pancake House mysteries aren't super intense or "can't put down," but they are like a nice visit to see old friends. I like Marley. I like Brett. I like that even when there's a hiccup in their relationship, it's not drama with a capital D. They feel more real to me that way. More like the kind of people I actually know in real life.

I did find the large cast of characters a bit hard to keep track of, and the fact that nobody seems to question Marley constantly being on set and looking into the murder strange. Then again, realism is not usually a cozy mystery's strength. This was an enjoyable, quick read.

The Pancake House Mysteries keep getting better with every offering. A movie crew has come to town and murder ensues. Marley finds the murder victim and her boyfriend's ex is the chief suspect. Brett's willingness to help his ex opens a floodgate of insecurity in Marley. The resolutions of the murder and relationships are engaging and well done. All this wonderful, and great recipes too! I highly recommend 'Of Spice and Men.'

I really enjoyed Of Spice and Men by Sarah Fox. It is the 2nd of her books I have read based around a pancake cafe in Wildwood Cove, a Pacific Northwest beach town. Main character Marley owns the cafe and is determined to investigate when things happen in her town. This time a movie is being filmed in town and Marley's boyfriend's beautiful actress ex is accused of murder. This adds the twist of Marley confronting how she really feels about him. The characters are likable and the breakfasts sound delicious.

As cozy mysteries go, I found this one to be more substantial than most. It touched on all the senses....the cold rainy weather, the warmth of a fireplace, the diversity of food. Various plot lines. Good character development. Twists and turns, red flags. What more could I as a reader have wanted? A few less adjectives perhaps but otherwise, I felt as if the author cared about creating a quality cozy mystery reading experience.

Great work from Sarah Fox!
This installment is more fast paced than the previous ones in this series, filled with romance, suspense and a killer plot.
Definitely five stars.

Of Spice and Men is the book in the Pancake House series. This is a wonderfully written cozy mystery. The book is a standalone with no cliffhanger, though it is open-ended for future books in the series. Though the storyline is average, I really enjoyed this book. It is a perfect read for a day tucked under a blanket in front of a fire, sitting on the beach, a porch swing, you get the picture. There is some violence.

The book blurb adequately describes the storyline so I'm not going to repeat all that info here. The author did a good job of summarizing the storyline from the first two books for new readers as well as describing the setting of Wildwood Cove. Once again Marley finds herself in the middle of a murder investigation. There are a lot of clues in the storyline that keep you guessing what twists and turns will be revealed next.

I look forward to reading more of Sarah Fox's books. I received a copy of this book from NetGalley and Alibi and chose to leave a review for other readers.

The seaside town of Wildwood Cove is all atwitter. Hollywood stars, producers, and accompanying entourage are in town for a remake of the horror movie, The Perishing.

Christine, makeup and special effects artist;invites Marley, owner of the Flipside,a local pancake house;and Sienna to her trailer to view her work. However, before they have a chance to be overawed by Christine's artistic prowess, they are shocked by her demise.

Much of Sarah Fox's third Pancake House novel, Of Spice and Men, hinges on the relationship between Brett and Marley. Unfortunately, it is a very tremulous relationship due to the revelation that Alyssa, the leading lady, is Brett's ex-live-in.

We see enough of Marley at work, and different dishes mentioned, to feel like she is really spending her time at work.(One of my pet peeves is when a main character spends all her time solving the mystery and leaves her business hanging on others' shoulders.)

This is a very satisfying mystery and I certainly could understand both Brett's and Marley's frustrations with the path their relationship was taking. Their angst was very palpable and believable.

This is the second Pancake House mystery I have read. I really enjoy the ocean side setting, the pancake house business background, as well as the main couple. There are a couple of secondary characters I hope to learn more about. (Chloe and Sienna and Ivan, for starters.)

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley and the publisher. This in no way affected my opinions, for which I alone am responsible.

This was my second book by this author and I loved the continuity of the pancake house and main characters alongside the new mysteries to solve. I was in suspense the entire time and could not put the book down once I got to about 2/3 of the way through as I had to find out how it ended! I hope to read many more books by this author!

Another great Pancake House cozy mystery from author Sarah Fox.This time involving a film being shot in the town of Willow Cove and an actress who used to be Brett, Marley's boyfriend, accused of murder. I love this series and again Marley is playing detective trying to solve a murder.and again putting her life in danger. But along with that there is her Pancake house, the Flip Side and the wonderful and occasionally odd characters that are in the books. at the end are recipes for the delicious meals that Ivan the chef creates for the Flip Side. I also love Flap Jack Marley's cat. The Pancake House series is just a fun read that pulls you in and keeps you reading until the last page.

Wow, lots of suspects and what is the motive? Fun cozy, I like Marley and her boyfriend Brett. The characters are fun. Sometimes I have trouble remembering who is who with the regulars. But that's my problem. The mystery is engaging and moves quickly. I have read the second book in this series and I would like to read the first one. Delightful series and a great way to relax.
