What a nice surprise! This book was just. . .1. super HOT and 2. an emotional treat! I felt connected to both Nate and Lucas. They were both a little damaged and found wholeness in each other (more Nate).

I read an average of 5 books a week. This was a quick 1.5-day read. . .over too fast. I may need to read it again. I read M/F, M/M, M/F/M, and M/M/F on a regular basis. Cover Up is a great M/M HEA story. I realized after I started it was book 3 in a series. I've already purchased book 1 and look forward to reading about where it began.

This is my first book by Ms. Witt, but will not be my last!

I really enjoyed this book. We got a fairly in depth look into the characters backgrounds and I felt like I knew what stage of life they were in. It was good to see their relationship evolve and you could feel the love between them. Well written and sensitive I would definitely recommend.

I was extremely interested in Nate after the last book. I wanted him to have an HEA...well, another HEA after his husband of 10 years decides to toss him to the curb. Nate is a good guy, and I loved him and the relationship he had with Jon in Pounding Skin.

This book centers around his relationship with Lucas, the young, hot new apprentice at Skin Deep Inc. Lucas is bi-sexual, and is twice divorced. At this time in his life, he just wants a "no strings attached" kinda relationship, and while Nate would like to think he is capable of that, he just simply is not built that way...no matter how hard he tries, he falls fast and hard for Lucas, and the feeling is mutual.

The two of them are full steam ahead when they meet for the first time, and let me tell you....WHOA. I loved the chemistry between these two men, both in and out of the bedroom.

All in all, this is another great installment in this series and a must read!

I have read the first book in this series, but I skipped the second. I will go back to read that one, If you are like me and don't mind reading books out of order, no worries, cause this one can be read as a stand alone ;)

Nate's marriage of 10 years has ended, because his husband cheated on him. Now he wants the tattoo, that reminds him of his ex, to be covered.

This is where Lucas comes in....tattoo apprentice at Skin Deep Inc. Lucas is quite a bit younger than Nate, and he himself has been through more than one divorce already. He understands how Nate is feeling.

Since they are both extremely attracted to each other, and neither is looking for a relationship, they decide to go the "friends with benefits" route.

Of course there are these things called "feelings" ... and they can't help but falling for one another. But Nate is not quite over his ex just yet....

I enjoyed this book, and the sexscenes were extremely HOT. It just didn't blow me away. I guess I wanted something more... more story, maybe a bit more angst...

I enjoyed reading Cover up. Nate, a military man and Lucas, a tattoo apprentice are great character and I enjoyed their dynamics and strength of the character, I would definitely recommend this book and series!

I absolutely loved this story, this whole series is so good but Cover up was pure, unadulterated fun laced with depth and emotion. I really enjoyed the unspoken feelings they had towards each other, those shared moments were tangible and my favourite.
Splendid, passionate, sexy .... I would recommend this book to anyone who loves romance and second chances.

This book is part of the “Skin Deep Inc.” series but can be read as a standalone.
It featured 2 MCs that were briefly introduced in the previous book: Nate, a military man, freshly separated from his husband after 10 years of marriage and Lucas, a tattoo apprentice, ten years younger but with already 2 divorces on his belt.

Lucas is a wonderful hero who is struggling to regain his feet after two divorces and starting his tattooing career. Nate is in the process of getting a divorce. I like how this book goes over the process Nate goes through in his divorce process and how he finds love agian.

I really like seeing the men from previous stories, it makes me feel like I'm getting a little extra to the whole series.
All in all a fantastic story and I can't wait for the next installment!

3.5*

Navy Pilot Nate Chandler had been happily married for ten years until he discovered his husband Caleb cheating and now he's getting divorced.
Ten years is such a long time and he's struggling to come to terms with how his life has changed and why. One constant reminder is the matching tattoo on his arm and so he decides to have it covered and heads to Skin Deep and the cover up artist Lucas.

Lucas is younger than Nate but already has two divorces to his name so he understands what Nate is going through. Lucas is instantly attracted to Nate and realises that he's happy to be his rebound guy.
So Nate and Lucas start to see each other and it soon becomes obvious it's more than just sex between them but is Nate over Caleb or is he just using Lucas as a distraction?

I liked both Nate and Lucas and really wanted it to work out for them, we also get to briefly catch up with the previous guys.

It's always difficult to find the right balance when an ex is involved since I hate it when the ex overshadows the current but while I felt the divorce was maybe mentioned a little too much I didn't feel Caleb had a too large part, obviously after ten years he's going to cast a huge shadow over Nate's life anyway.

As always with this series there's a lot of sex and in places it felt a little repetitive (divorce and the three jobs that Lucas has) but all in all it's a good read.

I voluntarily read a review copy kindly provided by NetGalley and St. Martin's Press.

I was intrigued to find out more about Navy Pilot Nate Chandler. In the last book we found out that he’d been cheated on by his husband and the very last thing he was looking for was another relationship. Ten years of investing your love and trust in someone only to be betrayed has left him heartbroken, devoid of emotion and with a dormant libido. He’s also got a damn tattoo that reminds him of his ex; a matching one they’d had done together. Nate wants it gone, like now, and he heads to Skin Deep Inc. where he meets young apprentice and cover-up artist, Lucas Brandt. What begins with stolen glance and flirty exchanges evolves into some really hot encounters. Lucas is convinced that he’ll only be a re-bound hook-up and Nate can’t believe this young, beautiful and sexy guy wants to spend time with him, but that’s all he can give because he can’t go through that heartache again, it nearly broke him last time. But things they are a-changing, no longer can Nate just treat Lucas like a hook-up, he’s beginning to feel things, and his feelings are running far deeper than what he ever felt for his husband. This story is about betrayal and heartache and also moving on and the unexpected surprises along the way that can turn you world around, I felt for Nate, I really did, his heartbreak was tangible and Lucas, falling in love and finding his soul mate and finding his place in the world. The sex scenes throughout the book were incredible and there was a sweet and realistic conclusion to the story. I’ve really enjoyed this series and every book in it for different reasons and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

This is the continuation from the previous book, about Nate and his broken marriage. So, you must read the second book of the series if you want to know about what happened.
This is about finding out what you want in your life, stay and mourning for what's lost, or moving on.
I liked Lucas and Nate's meeting and their sexy times together after they met. A hook up? Definitely. A rebound? Indeed. But they denied it (especially Nate) and go on with their non-stop sexual marathon. Then something happened and it hit Nate hard, questioning his love for Lucas. Good thing is, Lucas made a right move about it.
Nate, have to work for Lucas's love in the end.
If only there's more conflict or conversation with David, and lesser sex (not that I'm complain about the sex, they're freakin' hot together), this could be more gripping story.
Too bad, the 'story' looked like an addition of the sex marathon.
There's some moments that made me hold my breath, but not much.
Not my favorite of this series, but give Nate and Lucas a chance, they're beautiful together.

L.A. Witt has done it again. This was an awesome read with characters that are honest and true. The emotions that throughout this book literally jump off the page and the reader is transformed into each and every scene. With every footstep that is taken and every issue that is written about the reader can feel the happiness or angst in the storyline. With hotter than hell sex scenes and a plot that made the pages turn quickly this is a story I would highly recommend. I now need to go back an read the other books in the series.

This is the third book in a series about tattoo artists and Navy men in Virginia Beach. Aviator Nate Chandler's ten-year marriage is over, so he goes to tattoo cover-up specialist Lucas to see what he can do about some ink Nate got with his ex-husband. Nate's tattoo stays as-is, but Nate and Lucas start an affair. It's no-strings, just-sex.

And there is a TON of sex in this book. It's all nicely written and enjoyable, but the ratio of sex to story is waaay over on the sex side. I've read more than twenty of Witt's books, and she is particularly good at writing characters and story, so I was a little disappointed that there wasn't more story.

The story we got was good, and Nate was particularly well-drawn. Finding his way after a divorce was more complicated than he realized. His messy and uneven journey through his breakup is realistic and emotional in the right places.

I Give this a book a 3 star. Tattoo artist books have to be one of my favorite subject matters in books. This book was well written like all other of Witts books however it was very repetitive and very slow to start. i found myself bored leaving the book and coming back to it several times and even then i was not able to finish it. And this was basically instalove which i cannot read. I look forward to Witts next books!

I was really curious about this book because the story sounded intriguing.
The characters were very likable and their struggles absolutely understandable. So, why only 3 stars from me? Well, I had actually been looking forward to the story when I picked up the book. What I got was more sexy times than story, which wasn't what I was looking for at the time. So, if you like lots of hot sex scenes with a bit of intriguing story thrown in, you will like this book much more than I did.

This. This was the book I didn't know I was waiting for. When I met Nate in Jon's story, I liked how boisterous and teasing he was. And then to find out that the life he had been living was a lie and about to come crashing down on him. I actually cried out loud. Noooo, not NATE!!

And then there was Lucas. Too young to have had two divorces under his belt, battling three jobs to make ends meet and trying to get his confidence back after a botched job. Yeah, he needed someone who was there for him. Someone who wasn't going to change him, but enhance him and his way of thinking.

"It was only supposed to be about a cover up, but what they found was so much more."

If ever two men needed each other it was these two. The fact that Lucas was bisexual did not even require a second glance or thought. It barely made an impact on this story, thank heavens. Both men knew what they were getting into when they hooked up, but the fact that they fell without realising it caught them off guard. And this was especially because the grieving process had not been completed.

I won't lie, the sex scenes were HOT. And I loved the way both Nate and Lucas interacted with one another. The gentle quality, the ability to communicate even when words weren't necessary and Lucas's maturity. Oh. My. Word!!! He was just what Nate needed. Yes, the affair started off as a rebound, but time spent made them realise just what was needed to find closure.

Definitely my favorite of the three books and a hell yes on recommendation. Thank you Tito from St. Martin's Press for inviting me to read this wonderful story.

Cover up is the third book in the skin deep series, but can be read as a standalone.
Nate is in the middle of a divorce after 10 years of marriage. He goes to Skin deep as he wants the tattoo he had done with his husband removed or covered up as it's too much of a reminder of the heartbreak he's been put through.
Here he meets Lucas, an apprentice whose speciality is cover ups, sparks ignite immediately between the two and they end up in bed that evening. The relationship continues at a fast pace, but both have suffered, Lucas is bisexual and has 2 divorces under his belt, so they both try fool each other this is purely for fun and sex.
Lucas begins to feel Nate is just using him on the rebound to forget about all he's been through, how the relationship works out is well told.
Rather repetitive in places and a quick easy read, but that said as enjoyable as most of L A Witt's books are.

If you are looking for a M/M romance with no drama or hot chemistry this is for you. While not unpleasant, the story didn't do anything for me. Despite Nate finding his husband in bed with another, any drama (aka excitement) from that takes place prior to the book starting. I also never felt any heat between Nate and Lucas. They are attracted to each other but it seems more convenience than smoldering "can't get enough of you" though the author writes that they really want each other (especially Nate for Lucas) but I didn't feel it coming from the characters.

We get more about Nate, how he's feeling, what he's thinking, how he lives and works. We get next to nothing about Lucas other than he works a lot and was married twice to women. We never see his home. Nate asks minimal questions. I know if I (as the woman I am) was in a relationship with a guy and I found out he'd been married to two other guys prior I'd have some questions.

Witt's characters don't make crazy, poor choices here to move the story along and they tend to be thoughtful, nice people. Unfortunately, that led in this case to a less than interesting read for me.

So far this series is really working for me. This third book is about Nate (who is Jon from book two's work partner) and Lucas (who is an artist who specializes in cover ups at Skin Deep). Nate's in the middle of a divorce after his spouse cheats on him. He goes in to the tattoo shop to get a cover up on his tattoo and there he meets Lucas. The two men are immediately attracted to each other but neither wants a relationship. They decide to be friends with benefits but that goes awry when they end up falling in love. Unfortunately Nate is not done with grieving the loss of his marriage so the road gets a bit complicated for these two.

I enjoyed this quite a bit. It deals with the issues Nate has without being OTT on dramatics. The relationship felt very realistic to me. We get to see both couples from the previous books and Colin and Daniel have some important scenes.

My only complaint is the same one I had for the first book. I think these are a bit too heavy on the sex scenes. I find myself skimming them by about 60%. Overall though, another solid book in this series. A series which has turned out to by my favorite by this author.

3.5 stars. I did not like the beginning the book. There was too much repetitiveness with the whole cheating husband, Nate thinking his sex drive was dead, Lucas' three jobs, college debt and his lost confidence on tattooing. Also, if he was a prodigy at cover-ups, why is he still an apprentice? But the last half of the book I really enjoyed. Watching these two go from friends with benefits to falling in love. I would have liked seeing Nate get is new tattoo. I also liked the meeting between Nate and his ex, there were no excuses. I loved the scene with Daniel when he came walking into the house & then proposed. I have the feeling that this is the last book as we are not introduced to anyone new and everyone seems happy.

To be honest, this was nothing special. The story was a little bland, and very straightforward. I knew and guessed about the characters and their developments from the beginning so it was a little boring. The steam level was high, and the scenes were well-written. It was an easy read that I could imagine myself reading in summer holiday without wringing out all my emotions, but I don't know if I'd read this more than once. To be honest, I was more intrigued ny Daniel and Colin's story, so I might go back and read that instead.
