I really liked this historical read. The story is fast-paced with plenty of drama and so much fun. Hamish and Elizabeth are great characters with plenty of chemistry. This read has lots of supporting characters that are fun as well. I was hooked from beginning to end. A good read.

When the Duke of Caithness is charged with finding husbands for his cousins, the St. Claire sisters, matters at home prevent him from personally supervising their season. Hamish Robb and Ranald Gunn, Baron of Bower are sent to protect and find suitable matches for the Duke's cousins. Upon their arrival the two Highlanders are seen by society as savage novelties even while the St. Claire’s find them a refreshing change from the marriage mart they have been thrust into. With a thousand reasons not to get let attraction take over it only takes one reason to take a chance at love and throw the rest out the window.

Sabrina York brings laughter and high jinks to the highlands and the parlors of the ton even as she manages to squeeze in a just the right amount of angst in The Highlander Is All That. Full of her astute wit and clever plotting tactics this story was fun with no shortage of excitement. With a nice mix of past updates and new happenings this book felt fluid with the series. While this story started off with exploring the attraction of Elizabeth St. Claire and Highlander Hamish Robb it quickly became apparent that this work was about all four of the St Claire sisters achieving their happily ever afters. As each sister fell prey to their hearts desire it was not without some serious obstacles and quite a bit of miscommunication!

The two relationships that were the most developed in this book were those of Elizabeth St. Claire and Hamish Robb and Anne St. Claire and Ranald Gunn, Baron of Bower. Holy sexy Highlander and make that a double these heroes may have been vastly different temperament wise but definitely were equals in allure. Elizabeth and Anne, like their love interest, were charming contrast and showed off this writer’s skill at spotlighting very different portrayals in the same work without overshadowing each other. The romances of the two younger sisters, Mary and Victoria, while they were less of a focus were no less enchanting and were integral to carrying out the plot of this book to its happy conclusion. Secondary characters flourished in this story as this author always does a great job of giving them their due. Ms. York's inclusion of intimate interactions among the players in this work added a nice touch of familiarity that allowed readers to feel part of the story and close to its characters. With great additions such as The Highlander Is All That to Sabrina York's wonderfully entertaining Untamed Highlander's series there is no doubt that as the series grows so will readers love for it!

A wonderful romp!

What a giddy, hilarious bunch of young women are the St Claire sisters. I loved them and their quasi dragon Aunt Esmerelda, a powerful member of the ton.
And it's into this household two Scots are sent by the Duke of Caithness to stand in for him and chaperone his cousins during their London season. Well all that 'standing in' doesn't quite go to plan.
Elizabeth St. Claire is enchanted by the idea of all things to do with the Highlands and when Hamish Robb arrives she attracted to him from the very first greeting. The thing is Hamish feels he can't betray the Duke and that he's not wealthy enough for Elizabeth. A conundrum! Elizabeth is not in agreement with Hamish's sentiments.
And then of course there's Ann, Victoria and Mary! Each has a storyline that plays out quite delightfully.
There are some amusing scenes. I loved it when Lady Jersey chases down Hamish at an event and corners him in a library.
The St Claire sisters' season is like no other, peppered with wonderful scenes of mayhem and romance.

I really enjoyed this book and thought it was an absolute riot. I loved the different stories and points of views within this book. They were very easy to follow and weren't at all confusing. They really added to the overall depth of the book. It was also getting to see some characters that have previously been in Sabrina's book. This story has it all-tension, romance, steam, suspense, humor and a lot of HEAs.

Alright, on the one hand, this book was fun to read. I wanted to kick the one or the other highlander's lovely back every now and then and then there was this time where I wanted to do so much more to the one or the other lord...

But let's start at the beginning when two brawny Scots instead of one duke arrive and well, things start to happen rather quickly. And somehow dear Aunt Esmeralda, the chaperone of said duke's cousins, might have a very different idea of an excellent match than her four young wards. While Esmeralda sets out to reel in wealthy, titled suitors, the girls may have slightly different priorities.

With four young women in the house, love and chaos reign and even brawny Scots get caught in that whirlwind.

Even though they are sisters, the four young women are very different - and they fall for very different men as well. Just, well, let's say that the smell of pomade used in abundance is nothing any of them suffer well and the man behind that smell...ugh, he is not much better despite his title and his wealth. Reading the book you can easily see those sisters, falling in love, debating, caring for each other, teasing and, well, falling in love a bit more. It is fun to see them wreck havoc on all those wonderful plans Aunt Esmeralda has, especially as they don't care for the ton and its rules.

In the middle of it all, there are our Scots. Protecting the girls, chasing after them when they run of...or worse..., falling in love themselves and... then disaster strikes and things get really tough. I was really upset when that happened and couldn't put the book down because I had to know that everything would end well.
Fortunately, the book didn't disappoint and I got my HEA. I loved that even though Aunt Esmeralda set out to catch lords for the girls, the girls didn't care but went to find love and happiness and maybe even a Scotsman could be a part of this bundle of happiness.
Wonderfully written, humorous and fast-paced, this book was highly entertaining and sweet, I can definitely recommend it!

This is a well written book and started off with an interesting premise. Somewhere close to one third in, I had to set the book aside for about a week or two, for reasons unrelated to the book. When I went to resume, I found that I couldn't recall anything about the story. It took some serious thinking and skimming to bring me back, and even after that, I had a hard time staying immersed. Perhaps I was just too distracted, but I couldn't quite reach the level of loving this story. I have read some other works by Sabrina York, and would certainly do so again.

My thanks to NetGalley and St Martin's Press for the opportunity to read and review The Highlander Is All That by Sabrina York.

The four St. Claire sisters are being sponsored for a London season by their cousin the Duke of Caithness, his wife is increasing so he sends Baron Ranald Bower & Hamish Robb to oversee their season
Elizabeth watches intrigued as the Highlander of her dreams, Hamish Robb, arrives to oversee her season. Elizabeth doesn’t hide her feelings for the striking Scot. However Hamish is determined to obey his order to protect the St. Claire sisters.
Oh this was such a fun read, the four sisters Anne, Elizabeth, Victoria & Mary are delightful, Hamish & Ranald don’t stand a chance! Hamish’s encounter with Lady Jersey is hilarious as is a certain Earl’s pomade. I read with at least a smile on my face throughout, the pace was good & the characters came to life. A very good thoroughly enjoyable read

The Highlander Is All That by Sabrina York
Untamed Highlanders #3.5

The St. Claire sisters find themselves on the marriage market in London waiting for their cousin, a Scottish Duke, to arrive to make their entrance into society of greater standing. He does not show up and instead sends two Scotsmen in his place to act as guards. Four sisters will eventually find men to love but perhaps not with men they thought they would end up with when the season begins. There is romance and a kidnapping or two. There are kisses, and glamour and chases to save the kidnapped and balls with dances and beautiful outfits and wanted suitors and unwanted suitors and surprises that try to put monkey wrenches into the plans for happiness…until…the monkeys wielding the wrenches are removed.

The writing is well done and fun. The characters are varied and easy to dis/like. The couples are perfect for one another. The difficulties to overcome are believable. At the end of the story I was left feeling all had come right for the St. Claire sisters and their cousin AND some of the side characters mentioned caught my reader’s eye and made me wonder if they had stories already written that might be available for me to read.

Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press-Swerve – This is my honest review.

Elizabeth and her sisters are beginning their first season at the direction of their cousin a Scottish duke. While Elizabeth isn’t averse to finding a husband, what she really wants is a Scotsman. Hamish and his friend are sent to London to act as emissaries for the duke in overseeing the St. Claire’s girls as they are led by their aunt on a husband hunt.

This is a fun rowdy story with plenty of laughs especially when the sisters are all together. The beginning felt rushed between Elizabeth and Hamish and I wasn’t particular to her lack of innocence or his fear and angst when put in a compromising position. However, at around the fifty percent mark this book took off and I fell in love with pretty much everything afterwards.

It’s a fast read with witty dialogue, villains, humor and a bit of steam.

Delightfully entertaining book with something for everyone – what is not to love. Kidnappings, elopements, and romance – Oh! My!

The four St. Claire sisters, Anne, Elizabeth, Victoria, and Mary are cousins to Lachlan Sinclair, the Duke of Caithness. When their parents died, their dreams of a season died as well – until the Duke took an interest in them and provided them with dowries and a season. They live, in London, with their aunt, Esmeralda Van Cleve who is a society maven. She will stop at nothing to get her nieces married into the highest titles and wealth possible.

They are all looking forward to the Duke’s arrival from Scotland. He is coming to act as their protector and sponsor for the season. Except, it isn’t the Duke who arrives. His new wife is expecting and he won’t leave her and sends his emissaries instead, Ranald Gunn, Baron of Bower and Hamish Robb. Neither of them is welcomed by Aunt Esmeralda, but Elizabeth and Anne beg to differ! Hamish is square-jawed, green-eyed, dimpled and very handsome with his burnished red hair. Elizabeth loves the rumble of his voice and his Scottish brogue. Ranald is warm and sincere with sandy brown hair. Both are charming beyond belief.

Elizabeth has always dreamed of a Scottish suitor who would fall in love with her and sweep her off her feet – and they would live in the Highlands. The reality is that her current suitor, Lord Twiggenberry (Goodness what a name! – Giggles) is tall, thin, wooden-faced and wears an unctuous pomade that makes her stomach churn. He also natters on about what his dear mama’s expectations for his wife are.

Anne, who is tall and willowy with serene brown eyes, has no interest in anything Scot – especially the men. She loved one once and he broke her heart. So, she paints all male Scots with the same brush – as feckless and unfaithful. So, why does she find herself liking Ranald?

We get four romances and HEA’s in this one book – what a thrill. All of the romances are sweet, some are hard-won and others are very improbable. Then, you add in kidnappings, attempted rape, elopements and stubborn people and you have an interesting read that will keep you turning pages to see what happens – and to whom – next.

"I requested and received this e-book at no cost to me and volunteered to read it; my review is my honest opinion and given without any influence by the author or publisher."

I absolutely loved this fabulous historical romance from Sabrina York.

This book had two very romantic stories. The main story follows Hamish and Elizabeth who fell in love with each other at first sight. They struggle in their relationship mostly from miscommunications on both of their parts. Elizabeth was determined though and relentlessly pursued her Highlander. As for the second story, while Elizabeth adores everything Scottish her sister Anne despises it with equal measure. She and Baron Bower were drawn to each other right away but their's was a slow burning romance. It took a while for the two of them to let go of the past.

I liked everything about this book. It had plenty of passiion, humor, excitement, and it was beautifully written. I heartily recommend this book to anyone.

The Highlander is All That actually contains two romances, Elizabeth and Hamish (of the 100 kisses bet in previous books of the series) and Anne and Ranald. Elizabeth and Anne are two of the St. Clair sisters who are cousin the Duke of Caithness (Lana and the Laird). The duke’s wife is expecting and cannot travel. He sent Ranald and Hamish to London to oversee/guard his four cousins for their London debut, not to seduce them.

Elizabeth is an innocent who wickedly goes about falling in love with and seducing Hamish. While Anne had been seduced in her younger days by a Scot who took her virtue, then left her. She begins this tale with a bitter grudge against men and Scots in particular. Elizabeth and Anne’s Aunt Esmerelda does not seem to do a very good job of chaperoning the sisters since both the girls find themselves meeting with their Scots in private. Elizabeth even gets compromised by an earl who is kind of weaselly and sneaky.

There are several funny moments where the ladies of London are chasing the Scots in their manly kilts. Although none of it is appreciated by Hamish and Ranald. There is a lot of travel back and forth on the road to Gretna Green for elopements.

Sabrina York is a great word weaver when it comes to her Scotland tales. You will enjoy the mixture of the romantic couples. Each reach their HEA with only a few complications and troubles. This book is definitely a stand-alone, but having read prior books in the series allows you to know more about the characters and what has come before.

'The Highlander Is All That' by Sabrina York is Book 3.5 in The "Untamed Highlanders" series. This is the story of Elizabeth St. Claire and Hamish Robb.
Lizzie and her sisters are a distant cousin to the Scottish Duke of Caithness and would like to see them married. Although Lord Twiggenberry is wanting to make a match with Lizzie she does not want to be with him. Lizzie as a little girl had went to Scotland where that has set in her mind that she like it there along with the men there. Hamish has been sent to help with the protecting of the ladies while they make their way around. Hamish has no title and feels that Lizzie is 'out of his league' but they have get to know each other it is hard to fight their feelings. This book also had some great side characters and their stories.
I love Ms. York's stories and this was another enjoyable read! Loved it!

The Highlander is all that is 3.5 in the Untamed Highlanders Series and I loved reconnecting with characters from the first 3 books, Hannah and the Highlander, Susana and the Scot, and Lana and the Laird, and enjoying all the new characters in this new book.

The St.Claire sisters, all four of them are having their season in London, thanks to the generosity of Duke of Caithness, their new found cousin. Anne, Elizabeth, Victoria, and Mary are on the marriage market and the Duke has sent two men in his stead since his wife is pregnant. Hamish and Ranald Gunn are sent to make sure the girls are watched over. Unfortunately for them, Hamish falls in love with Elizabeth and she feels the same way, but he tries to resist her as he feels she deserves someone better. As for Anne, after a man breaks her heart, she has a low opinion of Highlanders and yet Ranald fascinates her and he is enamored of her as well! Unfortunately for Elizabeth Lord Twiggenberry, a stuffy and bad smelling man wants to marry Elizabeth!

There is so much hilarity as well as intrigue in this book, you do not want to miss this latest addition to the Untamed Highlander Series. The plot moves right along and then the author throws a wrench in it! I especially like all the dialog between all of these characters and the ending is quite satisfying!

I gave this book 5*****stars and can't wait to read more from this author!

Publisher's Description:

Elizabeth St. Claire has always been hard to please. Dreaming solely of Highlander men her whole life, no prancing London Lord can stand a chance at winning her heart...

… But perhaps a Scotsman can.

Elizabeth watches intrigued as the Highlander of her dreams, a Scotsman named Hamish Robb, arrives to oversee her season at the behest of her cousin, the Duke of Caithness. Elizabeth doesn’t hide her feelings for the striking Scot. But Hamish, determined to obey his order to protect the St. Claire sisters, steadfastly rejects her every seducing lure.

Believing that the debutante Elizabeth deserves a better, wealthier man, Hamish continues to turn away from her affection, even though he doesn’t exactly want to. Can this Highlander Scot resist the tempting seductress’ attempts to win his heart?

My Thoughts:
This wonderfully written, humorous tale is one for the keeper shelf. The combination of these sister's antics and the underlying love stories is a fabulous mix.
Understanding that although it seems a foregone conclusion that both Anne and Elizabeth will get their happily ever after doesn't detract from this story. This book , on the surface is Elizabeth's story but Anne's story is no less involved in the storyline.
All I can say is WONDERFUL! It is a laugh a minute through most of the book. The inclusion of the smelly Lord Twiggenberry as a suitor for Elizabeth, who will not take no for an answer is without a doubt genius.
I simply could not put this one down.
I gave this book a solid 5.0 of 5.0 stars for storyline and characterization and a sensual rating of 4.5 of 5.0 flames. The intimate scenes between Elizabeth and Hamish were both intense and humorous. Anne and Ranald contribute to the sensuality with their own heated encounter.
I received a complimentary digital ARC of this book from the publisher via NetGalley to read. This in no way affected my opinion of this book which I read and reviewed voluntarily.

The four St. Clair sisters are looking for husbands, well, not all. Their new found cousin the Duke of Caithness, has set them up for the season. Anne, Elizabeth, Victoria, and Mary, what they go thru is short of amazing and who they pick. The characters are authentic, compassionate and loving. The descriptions are excellent and you feel like you are part of the story. The plot is full of intrigue, fun, and some confused Scots, The author has set it up so it is an easy read, flows smoothly and you can not put it down. There is always something to keep your interest. I love the part where Hamish meets Lady Jersey, a laugh out loud moment. This is an excellent book and I wish I could give it more than five stars.
