It took me years to get around to this book, and since I am trying to clean up my neck galley shelf, I decided to give this book a read. However, unfortunately, I am unable to read this book. I just could not get into it, And it sucks because I absolutely love rockstar romances. Thank you for the opportunity.

It's Gotta Be You is the second book in LuAnn McLane's new series Heartthrob. I'm really enjoying these brothers. They are so funny together. The little zingers that give each other shows the long relationship they've had.

If you follow me then you know I wasn't happy with Arabella from All I Ever Wanted which is book one. I loved Grady, just not her. So I was hoping for more from this book. I know, that's ton's of pressure on a author. But she didn't know so...

I'm happy to say that It's Gotta Be You was much better in my eyes. I really enjoyed Oliver (a given since I didn't have any trouble with the brothers in the first book) and Belinda. I think as a whole their story is a good one. I enjoyed reading their story.

What I didn't enjoy was that I felt that this story slightly mimicked the first story. It's again a second chance story and the heroine needs money. That bothers me a little. Maybe if I knew that all the stories are going to be second chance ahead of time it won't bug me as much.

Even though those issues got to me I still enjoyed the story and I'm glad I read it. I would read the story in order so that you get the main thread about what these brothers are all about.

Oliver was running down the beach. While Oliver was jogging he started weighing the pros and cons of going along with his manager's idea. But it was a quick start to a solo career. Oliver and his brothers had been in a boy band a decade ago. But had broken up after their mother p been so sick from Lupus. Wayward Records had expressed a serious interest in signing Oliver for a solo album. The recent Heartbeat hit single revived the boy band's popularity but they weren’t boys anymore and they went their own way in the career path. Making decisions didn’t come easy for Oliver as he tended to be cautious weighing the good versus the bad. Oliver Oliver and his brothers lost their dad to a car accident and their mom to complications from lupus. Oliver liked loving close to his brothers. Oliver was also a stickler for perfection. Oliver didn’t have a girlfriend but being a celebrity in a small seaside town made dating difficult. With something on his mind Oliver couldn’t relax or sleep well if at all. Heartbeats manager. - devon and publicist -Julia knew how to play the publicity game and pull in the paparazzi. But now they wanted Oliver to to fake a romantic relationship with former pop sensation Belinda Bell… again. Years ago he and Belinda had a pretend romance that had splashed them all over the popular teen magazines. Apparently Belinda wanted to jump start her career also and according to Devon she had agreed to the suggestion. Oliver wasn’t sure he wanted to do it especially as Belinda would be staying in Oliver’s pool house. Oliver and Belinda had been America’s sweethearts-when they were younger - publicly but in private they didn’t get along. Even though they argued privately Oliver had a thing for Belinda but had never let her know. So in public he pretended to like Belinda and in private he pretended to not like Belinda which really tested Oliver’s acting skills. Argueing had been Belinda’s favorite favorite pastime and Oliver had heard it was one of the reasons Belinda’s career .ended up failing.. Oliver thought of going to his brothers for advice. Grady was the oldest and would probably be protective and caution Oliver.Jimmy was the serious brother and would probably tell him to rely on talent. Jesse would find the whole thing hilarious and encourage Oliver to have fun and roll with it. Oliver went for a swim in his pool naked and then found Belinda there and Oliver asked her what she was doing there and Belinda said moving in. Devon had lead her to believe the fake romance was a done deal. Oliver said he had told Devin that morning that he hadn’t decided yet. Belinda had never wanted to be a pop star but a real country star. But now Belinda needs money or her parents may might lose their farm. Belinda even makes some rules for their fake relationship. Belinda had crushed on Oliver when they were in their fake romance as teens and had never let Oliver know.
I did enjoy reading this book a lot. First I did miss there really wasn’t anything much to do with music . I loved Belinda and Oliver together. I loved the plot. This did drag some for me. I think this was a little too long and some things did seem to be repeated too often. But I did laugh at different times while reading this book. This had a different twist on the romance of Belinda and Oliver. I felt nad when Belinda and Oliver broke each others hearts. I did love the end. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I recommend.

IT’S GOTTA BE YOU – LuAnn McLane
The Heartthrob Series, Book 2
Pocket Star
ISBN: 978-1-5011-7253-3
October 2017
Romantic Comedy

Sea Breeze, Florida – Present Day

Former teen sensation Oliver Heart of the Heartthrob singing group is hoping to make a comeback by launching a solo career, but he needs some publicity to help make it happen. The group’s manager suggests Oliver revive his long ago fake romance with former teen pop singer Belinda Beal, but he’s not sure he wants to go down that road again. Back then, Belinda turned out to be a diva and the two fought endlessly behind closed doors. But both need a career revival and it makes sense to “hook-up” romantically, at least for the press. While Oliver is mulling over his decision, Belinda shows up unexpectedly at his house. She’s now even more beautiful, and Oliver’s body is soon on alert.

Belinda wouldn’t have tried to revive her career again but she overheard her parents talking about their financial woes and she needs to raise the money as a way to pay them back for all that they did for her. Things didn’t work out well between her and Oliver back when they were teens, but she decides to plunge in headfirst with this new plan to fake a romance. The sparks fly between them and something happens that never happened before: they’re now sexually attracted to each other. Before Belinda and Oliver know it, they’re getting to know each other in and out of bed. But are they headed for an emotional train wreck if they end up falling in love?

Teen superstar hookups don’t always mean it’s sexual and in IT’S GOTTA BE YOU this was the case for Oliver and Belinda when they were both teen singing sensations. They were thrown together and told to pretend to be in love, but they broke up and each found fame. Now their careers are dead and both need to revitalize them. Why not restart what helped them in the first place? At least that is what their managers think, so Oliver and Belinda go along with it, but soon learn that as adults there is plenty of heat that flares between them. They agree to keep their affair a secret because they don’t want anyone, especially his family, to think there’s love brewing between them. The last thing Oliver or Belinda want is to fall in love with the other.

There’re plenty of sizzling hot sex scenes in IT’S GOTTA BE YOU, the second tale in The Heartthrob Series by LuAnn McLane about the five sexy brothers of a former boy band. Oliver always wanted a solo career, but held back because of his brothers. But now their manager thinks it’s a good plan to help spark interest in both Oliver and the band. Of course, he didn’t expect this would mean pretending to be involved with Belinda again! She was difficult as a teen, but as adult she’s not only sexy, but complicated. Oliver and Belinda click in bed, but they also begin to mean something to one another. Somewhere along the way, they’re soon in love. But can they make it work?

A sizzling and funny read, IT’S GOTTA BE YOU is an entertaining and delightful tale that I highly recommend.

I read the first book and really enjoyed it. This book was really slow going at least at the start for me. And in fact I did not realize it was book 2 in a series I had read before, until I googled it. One thing that could have really made me like this book more is for us to get more of the brothers at least in the beginning. I felt the beginning really had too much interactions with just Oliver and Belinda to keep my interest going.

That said Oliver and Belinda are two very different rock stars that I was imagining at the start of the book. Oliver is very in his own head. He thinks everything out and that drove me a little bonkers. But that also made him a unique rocker in that it never goes to his ego.

Belinda is also very different in that she is on the shy side and really is all about her family and their farm. In fact that is why she needs Oliver. She needs to act lovey dovey with his so she creates a buzz for her music and Olivers because she needs money to save her family farm.

So that is how the two come together when she moves into his gate house to make America think they are the next BIG couple, I really enjoyed both characters and enjoyed the writing. I just felt the begining sort of dragged a lot.

When I stared this book I was a little confused. It was so similar to book one (well for me anyways), that I thought I was rereading All I Ever Wanted!

It’s Gotta Be You by LuAnn McLane is the 2nd book in her Heartthrob series. I loved the first book, All I Ever Wanted, in this series. I am happy to say that It’s Gotta Be You was equally as good. This series revolves around the brothers of a former boy band ‘Heartbeat”, who in the last book made a comeback with a special reunion show, which had a successful release of a new song. The proceeds went to the Lupus foundation that they had created for their deceased mom. The brothers have not really decided if they want to restart the band, despite the successful reunion.

In It’s Gotta Be You, Oliver Heart, our hero, is considering a solo career, and he has his brothers blessing. However, Oliver’s agents are pushing him to get some needed publicity by doing a fake romance with Belinda Beal, our heroine. Belinda and Oliver had a fake romance as teenagers, when both careers were at the top. Belinda had quit, but now she needs money to help her family, and wants to restart her career, so she is gung ho to do this.

Belinda shows up unexpected (an eye opener) at Oliver’s house, and even though he isn’t sure he wants to do this, it doesn’t take long for his old hidden feelings to rise and he changes his mind. Belinda all grown up is beautiful and sexy, and though she hides her nerves, she entices Oliver.

In a short time, we learn that the fake romance from years before hid both of their true feelings, with each not admitting that they had fallen for each other. With attractions at a high, they both agree to move on with the fake romance (which is not really fake), and make sure people (media) see them together. Their romance becomes scorching hot, with so much chemistry we figure it’s a no brainer that they will find a way to make this real. Oliver already knows he is in love with Belinda, but when her family gives her a surprise, she decides she needs to go home to help her family, even though she loves him too. Will Oliver leave all he has behind and follow Belinda? Will Belinda be able to get over her love of Oliver? You will have to read this book to find out.
It’s Gotta Be You was a sweet sexy romance, with a great couple, wonderful secondary characters, music theme, and pure fun throughout the story. LuAnn McLane once again gives us another sweet romance, and I for one cannot wait to see who will be the hero in the next book.

4,5 stars
Oliver is the youngest of the Heart brothers. Back then, when they were a famous boyband, he was still too young to really live the life of a Rock Star. But now here's his chance to go solo. It's what he always wanted - at least he thinks it is. His manager has a tiny little idea that could make him an even bigger star: fake a relationship with ex pop star Belinda for the paparazzi and future record sales. They already did the fake relationship thing when they were teenies and Belinda really needs the money, so she's game to do it again. But Oliver is not so sure.
He used to have a huge crush on her! She also had a crush on him. Maybe they'll get a second chance?

WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO BELINDA & OLIVER?
WILL THERE BE A HAPPY EVER AFTER?
READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT! ☺

ROCKSTAR ROMANCE!!!!!!

description

I might be the biggest rockstar romance fan ever! And even though this was a boyband thingy and didn't have much - or any - music in it, I still loved it. (Ok, there is a tiny little bit music at the end ☺ )

Oliver is so adorable! He's hot as hell but he's also a little bit of a softie and an adorable overthinker. He overthinks everything - Belinda is just the opposite - that's why she's not a pop star anymore. She never really wanted to be one to begin with - she wanted to be a real Country Star. But now she only needs the money, or her parents might lose their farm.

Belinda moves in to Oliver's pool house and ... let the games begin!
They are adorable together! They flirt and talk and cook and play in the pool - it's all so very sweet and sexy!

I really enjoyed this story!

It was a bit too long and nothing really happens - it's just the two of them hanging out being adorable and sexy. It wasn't bad - I didn't really need anything more, but I was expecting a bit more! And yes, there will be a bit more happening towards the end!!!
BUT - I still really enjoyed those two - can't wait to read book #3 about one of the twins and his neighbor and her horrible little dog! ☺

IT'S GOTTA BE YOU was an adorable #RockstarRomance without much Rockstarishness or music! But I loved it! An adorable & funny & sexy second-chance lovestory set in sunny Florida! Run to your nearest amazon for your own Oliver - this one is MINE! ☺

were there some things I didn't love? A few tiny things. But don't worry, the book was great ... just a few little details like the cover. That scene is so not happening in the book - even if Oliver would be on a stage - it wouldn't look like that! He's not a punk rocker! (But the cover for book 1 was even worse!!) The cover-selector for this series should've read the books!

Another thing. The writing isn't my kind of thing here and there. Too long paragraphs, too long thoughts and talks. And a lot of stuff gets mentioned too often - repeated too often. But that's just my personal reading-weirdness! ☺

Also - Oliver - while I loved him, he came across as a tiny bit too softish at times - so not the rockstar I was expecting!

But I still enjoyed reading this book! It still had this rockstarish feel to it! And I loved the end - what they ended up doing with their lives! ☺ And I also loved that we got to see all the other brothers again!
