this short story had the perfect balance between steaminess, angst, and sweetness! a really fun little story, and i'd recommend it if you want a (super) quick read. not 5 stars because it wasn't quite there - the obliviousness was perhaps a bit overdone - but still very good.

While this was a quick and easy read, it needed more. Not more length per se, but more on page interaction between the main characters. There wasn't enough to really develop Marco and Adam's relationship as a couple. Also Adam was terribly underdeveloped. I definitely would have liked to get to know him better. Maybe the author could have had less inner dialogue from Marco and more time and dialogue between Marco and Adam.

All in all, this wasn't a bad read. It was steamy and a bit sweet and the characters seemed likable, but I was really just left wanting more and not in a good way, but it was still enjoyable and recommendable!

"Adam was his best friend. His business partner. The one true constant in his life."

Friends to lovers stories are just a weakness for me. It's like the icing on the cake having your best friend as the soul keeper of your heart. This was an easy read. Done in under an hour and like a calming balm to the spirit. Marco and Adam had been friends for years, business partners. In one night a line had been drawn and Marco found himself on the precipice of losing it all to one careless sentence. It was going to take more than "I'm sorry" to gain their footing.

Marco Spinelli is interested in his partner, Adam, but he doesn't think he has a chance with him, until an innocent question makes Marco realize he might have been wrong. Now, if only he can convince Adam that he's what Marco really wants after he made a mess out of it.

I wanted to shake Marco, and maybe strangle him a bit, too. Talk about being oblivious! So perhaps Adam wasn't too obvious at first, but once they finally hooked up, Marco went out of his way to run the other way until he had to be pointed in the right direction by his ex-wife.

This was a very short book, filled with hot sex and a very oblivious character (Marco), it's told from Marco's POV and I think, overall, the author did a good job giving us enough background information about Marco and Adam despite the length of the story. While I'd have liked a bit more substance, I found the book entertaining. Recommendable!
