This was the first book I have ever read by J.T. Geissinger and I quite liked it. Bianca is the head chef in her restaurant when she meets grumpy Jackson, the heir to a huge bourbon empire. He storms into her restaurant like he owns the place and is entitled to immediate service. Bianca agrees to cater an event for Jackson after his previous chef backs out. I thought Bianca was great. She is feisty and not a push over. She has an ailing mother so when Jackson offers a fake arrangement in exchange for help with medical bills Bianca agree’s with the arrangement. Jackson is grumpy and moody but it was interesting to see how Bianca gave him sass back. I loved the witty and funny banter between them. They had great chemistry and I really liked the ending in this book. This is book one in the slow burn series and I look forward to reading more. I would recommend this book for sure.
I was excited to dive into this one. A chef and a bourbon heir should be interesting and slow burn. I've always loved Emeril Lagasse's cooking and so I loved the food around this, so the New Orleans setting worked so well. Right away the flair and fiery ways is seen. Bianca is sassy and feisty, has moxie, well known and acclaimed restaurant with local fair with her own twist. She and Jackson butt heads right away. Jackson can be cold, intense, intimidating and hard, his nickname the Beast seemed fitting.
They eventually call truce for a catering event, even with the tension between them is thick it made them somewhat mellow down. I wondered where it go from there, then Jackson's dad pulled the ultimatum and I think I got an idea. But no wait it's done even better, in that humorous and charming way that made me want to gobble it up. All those quips and the wittiness of it just made it fun. Bianca cracks me up, her inner thoughts. I'm not sure if it was me but I laughed at some of the things
There are so many other sides of the Beast, what an enigma. It's the vulnerable side of Jackson though that won me over it's wonderful to see. Learning about him his past, makes me want to hug him. He came from a house that felt like Downton Abbey of the South but that beauty hid lots of ugly. He can still be a anti social rude and crass but he has Bianca to call him out on it and saw the vetter side of him still. I loved their honest and direct way sometimes blunt but it was refreshing.
Slap, slap, kiss is the perfect trope description for Jax and Bianca. They also had a delicious burn. The way their relationship happend, the little moments of tingle and sexual tension. The adorable side of Jax and their sweet tumble into their new found relationship.
I loved the foodie side to this book. I can feel the Cajun feel to it all. JT Geissinger brings out the best of it and the characters. I enjoyed this book more than I expected. The banter was sexy and funny, I was thoroughly amused at each turn. Although I think a epilogue or closing out chapter would have made it more rounded out it still ended on a good note. I hope there would be more books in this series!
*cough,cough*
Well, I'm in the minority here :D
Reading the synopsis I was intrigued, the beginning was interesting, promising, but there was one problem, it was flat for me, wanted so much to like this book, I liked Jackson, but Bianca is a totally unlikable person, and that invisible line where is too much or not too much, in this book that was overstepped. I've read the book up to 75% percent and then I just stopped, didn't care about the story anymore.
One month I have read this book, and I must say I have read it till the end. :D
But still, not my cup of tea.
Readers looking for an entertaining read will get just that with this romance that takes the Beauty and the Beast theme and turns it upside down. Sparks soon fly from a combustible first meeting to the moment when a strong-willed woman’s life takes a devastating turn and she must rely on a sexy recluse to save her mother’s life. Sexual tension soon takes over in a story that goes on a bit too long but that kept me fully invested in the outcome of their unexpected romance. It was a romance that sometimes frustrated me but more often than not it put a smile on my face as I watched the two main characters dance around each other in a verbal tug of war.
Bianca Hardwick’s an immensely appealing heroine who’s strong-willed and quick to defend herself through colorful (and hilarious) comebacks. She’s hard working and a supportive daughter who would sacrifice all for her mother. Due to a cheating ex, who she also supported, she no longer believes in true love. She’s pragmatic and knows that happiness is something only she can control and sets out to do that with her agreement to marry a sexy recluse who needs her to claim his inheritance. The more time they spend together the closer they grow to each other in a slow burning romance that frustrated me and charmed me all at once.
Jackson Boudreaux was born the only child to a family famed for their distillery. He’s always been surrounded by wealth and the finest things in life, believed he could get whatever he wanted. Turns out he was wrong as he was betrayed by a woman who proclaimed to love him but cared more for his money. Familial obligations, heartbreak, and disappointments all combined to have him running from his family and living a reclusive life far from his past. Jackson’s very rough around the edges when readers first meet him, gruff and living up to his reputation of being a Beast. It’s self-preservation at it’s most obvious and brings out Bianca’s feistiness in exchanges that were highly entertaining. As he and Bianca spend more time together though heartfelt talks result and show him in a much kinder light. Readers got a glimpse into a kind man who cares for a child with special needs and who would sacrifice much for the first REAL woman to make him feel alive. Ultimately he’s a tarnished hero who doesn’t always do or say the right thing, but for those special few he wears his heart on his sleeve.
This was a story teeming with decadently delightful banter, a combustible couple, and a storyline that was at once familiar but still able to grab my attention and keep me fully invested in the outcome. Jackson’s a man bruised by his past, a man with a fragile ego, who’s desperate to keep his heart hidden from the world. His sexy looks and little boy lost psyche call to Bianca though and pull her wholeheartedly into his life where she finds unexpected love. With the weight of their agreement weighing on them it’s a slow moving romance that had me desperate to see them finally give in completely and rooting for their HEA through it all. Along with this likable main couple comes Ms. Geissinger’s vivid and loving homage to New Orleans. The city takes on a vibrant life of its own and was a delightful backdrop to this combustible coupling. A few secondary characters also caught my eye, among them were Jackson’s majordomo Rayford, who was wise beyond his years and didn’t hesitate to speak his mind as a pseudo-father. Bianca’s friend Eeny was larger than life too with a love of magic and her boldness brought a smile to my face. Bianca’s mother Davina was a huge influence on her and she was the driving force in all Bianca did. Davina was full of wisdom and heartwarming words and she sometimes left me misty-eyed. Overall this was an immensely entertaining read with appealing characters and a charming romance teeming with sexual tension. While Ms. Geissinger’s previous romances were grittier and pulled at my heartstrings, this one is pure entertainment and I recommend it to all those looking for a fun and flirty romance!
Burn For You, embellished with the New Orleans flair and food, took a spin on the classic Beauty and the Beast love story. Filled with character and personality, it easily transports you into not just another city but into the lives of these two lively people–both so polarizing with their differences and yet on the same playing field when it comes to their passion for others. And a passionate distaste for one another is what they have in spades.
Having not read many novels with a vibrant heroine who epitomizes the culture of that particular area, she was a bit startling at first. Originally feeling she was overdone, it took a bit to get used to her and come to connect with her–outside of her metaphoric sayings–, but I absolutely adored her feisty nature underneath it. She was the take-charge kind of woman who wasn’t one to be blinded or walked over which became a great battle of contention with a man so used to throwing his weight around. Their dynamic was romantic and charming, filled with the lovely awkwardness of hidden attractions and a woman who wasn’t to be cowed. And underneath all of that bravado, Geissinger wrote another hero to absolutely fall for that has a heart bigger than his presence.
Burn For You is a slow-burn romance that perfectly and easily falls into its romance. There’s no hesitation that these two have great chemistry, and as the reader you’re carried on a satisfying journey to them fumbling around to find it. Geissinger presented two strong personalities and harmonized them into a beautiful song, and built a wonderful novel around them.
4.5 Stars!
Tale as old as time;
Billionaire must marry to keep his inheritance. Down on her luck Chef is in need of money to pay her mother’s medical bills. How can this be fixed? Well, two virtual strangers decide they should married of course.
Hmmmm, so another Beauty and the Beast type storyline…Oh joy (insert eye-roll). Well damned right JOY! What makes this tale different from the rest? Jackson Boudreaux and Bianca Hardwick; these two burned-up the pages from the moment you’re introduced to them!!!!
Jackson Boudreaux is beyond rich. He’s also beyond arrogant and rude and unless he can find a wife by his upcoming birthday he will be beyond broke and living in the streets. From the moment he laid eyes on Bianca Hardwick; after bursting into her restaurant and demanding she stop using his family’s bourbon (the family he’s estranged from by the way), in her recipes and she basically told him to kiss her ass, Jackson can’t get her out of his mind.
Nothing pleased Bianca Hardwick more than putting Jackson Boudreaux in his place in front of a restaurant full of people. How dare he burst into her restaurant and threaten her with legal action of all things. It might have felt good; pissing off one of the most powerful people in the New Orleans might not have been the smartest move, especially when one word from him and her restaurant could be closed faster than she can whip up a mint julip. He is a major asshole, but that doesn’t stop her from taking a catering job from him. Not when it’s one that will help her pay her mother’s medical expenses. So when Jackson one again barges into her restaurant after she catered she knows she’d be crazy to take him up on his offer but then again, she’d be crazy not to.
These two were simply hilarious! I immediately fell in love with them. As snippy as they were with each other, they were that smitten (yes, I said smitten), with each other. This was one of those books that you can see the movie reel going in your head as you read. As a matter of fact, if this ever goes to audio I am official begging Ms. Gessinger to let me have a crack at it. I think it would be sooooo much fun to play Bianca! It wasn’t just the sexual chemistry between these two, they were fun! They made you laugh, like when Jackson’s pleading his case to Bianca:
“Okay. A little backstory. I have a trust. It’s . . . big.” I rolled my eyes. Jackson sighed again. “As I was saying, I have a big trust. And no, that’s not a metaphor. I found out today that to keep my trust and inherit my fortune once my father dies, I need to either work for the family company or get married. By my thirty-fifth birthday.” His look turned sheepish. “Which is next month.” I made a face. “So go work for the company, dummy!”
“So go work for the company, dummy”, Insert laughing tears emoji.
“The problem is that you’re the only woman I’ve liked in a long time.” He let that sink in, then added, “And I don’t want to be poor. I’d be exceedingly bad at it. For one thing, I’m not nice enough.”“How ridiculous. Not all poor people are nice.” He frowned. “Really? Every poor person I’ve ever met has been extremely nice to me. Well . . . except you.”
I can’t with these two! Literally laughing out loud here ….they are so “matter of fact”.
Realizing how much she actually needed Jackson’s help, Bianca accepts his proposal but there are stipulations on both sides that immediately get tossed out of the window. As expected both begin to see a softer side of the other and before you know it they are each other’s biggest protectors. Bianca even learns that Jackson has adopted the son of his best after he passes and she realizes his heart isn’t as hard as she thought.
I giggled more times than I could count with this book and I was really sad when it was over. This book just flowed for me and I really loved how Bianca was portrayed. Bianca is bi-racial but identifies herself as a black woman. When I first realized this I have to say, I was leery. So often I read books that describe black women with the, for lack of a better description, stereotypical “lingo and mannerism” (neck-rolling, eye-rolling) and I just knew I was going to be disappointed, but not this time and I love Ms. Geissinger for that! Bianca’s “lingo and mannerisms” were that of a SOUTHERN WOMAN. If there had been not description of her she could have been any woman and I love when a writer can do that with a character. She could have been and ethnicity, tall, short, fat, skinny…she just could have been anyone you wanted her to be!
While there were so many fun moments in this book (the supporting characters were a riot), there were some sad moments too and they most definitely tugged at my heart. The only thing stopping me from giving this book 5 stars is I felt like Jackson reuniting with his family was a little too quick and too neat; I felt like I would like to have seen more interaction with Jackson and Cody (his adopted son) and the ending was a little anticlimactic for me. Aside from that….SUCH A GOOD READ!!!
As corny as it sounds I have to say….if you’ve never actually looked at the lyrics to Beauty and the Beast, go read them. I swear each stanza describes these two and their situation to a TEE!
One last funny….when Bianco, goes to meet Jackson at his home…
“Are you going to invite me in, or would you prefer we talked in the front yard?” asked Bianca tartly. Priceless I tell you, just priceless!
2.75 stars. I know I'm in the minority on this book. All I have seen are gushing reviews about this book, but this was not a good book for me. I had high hopes because I have enjoyed books by this author in the past, but this was very different. This book was as if Disney's Princess and the Frog and Beauty and the Beast had a baby. It has the Beauty and the Beast trope, but it's set in New Orleans.
This is Bianca and Jackson's story. Bianca is a biracial chef who owns her own restaurant in New Orleans. Jackson is a grumpy recluse and the heir of a whiskey company family fortune. Bianca creates a menu using the whiskey as an ingredient in all of her dishes. So Jackson comes in to try the dishes. He is pretty much a jerk about it, which makes Bianca hate him, but he is secretly intrigued by Bianca. In the meanwhile, Bianca gets bad news about her mother's health and needs money to help her out. So when Jackson comes to Bianca to cater a fundraiser for him, she begrudgingly accepts. Then something happens to cause Jackson to need a wife in order to gain his inheritance and Bianca is the only person he can imagine marrying. He offers her money to marry him and stay married for a period of time. Bianca desperately needs the money for her mother's treatment so she agrees. There are several problems and complications but they eventually fall in love.
The story premise and the fact that it was set in New Orleans made me look forward to reading this one. But the overly hokey, trying too hard to sound Southern language was a huge turn off. I am not from New Orleans, but I have visited there and I do live in the South. The cutesy Cajunisms were so fake sounding, cheesy and unrealistic. It didn't sound like this author had ever set foot in the South, maybe watched a movie as research or something, because people in New Orleans do not sound like that in real life. It was a terrible, stereotypical, cheeseball version of Southern people. Not only that, some words were so decidedly wrong. New Orleanians do not say nappy, they say diaper. Ya'll is plural for you. You can't say ya'll meaning a singular you. Hoohas are not boobs. Men normally don't say "lady bits". Things like that.
Also the book suffered from over simile-ation. Way too many sentences with "like a..." or "as _ as a".
For example:
"Hotter than a billy goat with a blow torch"
"who looked like a sexless nun"
"he's like a crossbred dog"
"the sugar dissolves like a relationship over summer break"
"Looks like you've been et by a wolf and shit over a cliff, dawlin'."
And that barely scratches the surface. I think it was supposed to be funny, but it did not work for me at all. The language was such a huge turn-off that I almost dnfed numerous times.
Bianca was so plucky and country bumpkin. Everyone she met loved her. I did not connect with her at all, or Jackson either for that matter. They both got on my nerves. I did not feel any of the emotions I was supposed to. There were several parts that were meant to be sad, but I was not connected enough to the couple to feel it. Plus, the characters were very OTT and melodramatic. The beginning of the story was so long and drawn out but the end was too quick. The ending was disappointing.
Overall, this book was way too cheesy for me. The story was interesting, but that was basically the only part that worked for me. But, like I said, most people who read this book are crazy in love with it. So give it a try and judge for yourself!
Four solid stars. Interesting contemporary retelling of Beauty and the Beast. The MC's had a scorching chemistry. I would definitely recommend.
I LOVE J.T. Geissinger's writing—most especially her Wicked Games series so I was excited to start a new series by her. She combines great storylines with sexiness in her novels that leave you seriously melting from the heat! And while Burn for You was a slow burn romance and definitely had some of the heat factor, unfortunately this was not my favorite by her.
This is a remake of the classic Beauty and the Beast. Jackson Boudreaux has dinner at Chef Bianca Hardwick’s New Orleans restaurant and sparks fly... And I am not talking romantic sparks but angry, frustrating sparks because Jackson has his head up his butt with his richer than though angry presence and Bianca is the spitfire to put him in his place. Oh their banter had me laughing out loud... I love feisty heroines!
Bianca helps Jackson out with a charity dinner because she needs the money to pay for her sick mother's hospital bills when Jackson proposes something Bianca can't refuse—Marry Me so I can get my inheritance and I will do anything to help you with your mother's healthcare. And what starts off as a business proposal becomes so much more <3
While I loved learning the backstory of Jackson and why he is the way he is, I wanted to see more from him. The reader becomes heavily invested in Bianca's story because the book was mainly in her POV and I felt that more character development could have been done for Jackson. I felt some of his emotions—his anger and sadness but wish it was spread out throughout the book rather than at the end. I wanted to be more invested in his character. There is also a secondary character by the name of Cody that I wanted to see more of and toward the end, he was just missing from the story all together.
And when things finally come full circle and all is right in the world, it just felt so rushed. I wanted more of that burn if that makes sense—more time together, more heat and passion because for me, it felt just a bit flat.
I love this author and I will definitely read more from her... this was just not my favorite and could be the case of its me and not the book as I have seen many great review for it. I LOVE the diversity aspect because I feel like more books need that and I would definitely read more in this series to see where it will go next.
Feisty Cajun chef Bianca Hardwick and surly bad boy billionaire Jackson Boudreaux are two of the most fascinating characters I have ever had the pleasure to meet. In this enemies to lovers storyline reminiscent of Disney's popular Beauty and the Beast fairytale, it takes a very special woman like Bianca to look behind the mask of superiority that Jackson wears. I loved the New Orleans setting and the delightful supporting characters that make up Bianca's extended family as well as Jackson's delightful pseudo-father figure, Rayford. And that slow build up of simmering sexual attraction that culminates in oh-my-gawd, fan-my-face shower sex was absolutely hot-as-sin and well worth waiting for! But most of all I was absolutely spellbound by the growing emotional connection between these two lovers and the vulnerability they were finally able to share really touched my heart. These are characters that will stay with me for a very long time to come. I read a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley and all opinions expressed in my voluntary review are completely my own.
I really loved and enjoyed this one. Really a beautiful and deep story. Loved the characters and there stories. Definitely couldn't get enough and cant wait for more.
**Received this arc from Netgalley for a honest review** I loved loved loved this book! This author is new to me but i definitely can't wait to read more! Jackson and Bianca are made for each other! The story goes so well and is a definite page turner. Bianca has spirit and does not let Jackson get away with being too grumpy. Their chemistry is explosive! I definitely can't wait for more in this series! I would gladly recommend this book to family and friends.
I love this book. The total package of food, romance and excellent writing. Look at my discussion of this book with TJ over at Scandalicious Book Reviews.
I adored every second of this book, there was only one character I disliked that we met and a couple that we didn't meet but heard about, those three I would love to kick the crap out of! The rest of the characters were quirky and fun, or just redeemed themselves at the end when the truth came out.
I loved Bianca and Jackson! Once they got past the initial (false) impressions they really were made for each other and their relationship was, as the title suggests, a slow burn. The chemistry was there throughout and very strong, but neither acted on it for most of the book!
I loved the banter and the sayings as well as the New Orleans dialogue in the book and the recipes at the start of the chapters.
This book first made me laugh and then made me cry when we finally learned what Jackson had been through and again when Bianca faced tragedy. Loved how it worked out in the end although I'd have loved an epilogue, although maybe J.T will bless us with a follow-up story on the couple at some point, either in another characters book in the series or just a short story with Bianca and Jackson.

Amazingly entertaining, packing heat, passion and banter! If you like your heroes on the growly side, your heroines fiery with a smart mouth, a push and pull potent with animosity and a healthy dose of steam, you don’t want to miss Burn For You! This is your next afternoon escape!
I discovered J.T. Geissinger recently over the past summer and fell in love with her sexy and suspenseful stories propelled combustible thanks to a perfect mix of strong alphas with a gentle streak and independent heroines with a strong bite. (Her Wicked series is a must!!!)
With that promise in mind, I was already salivating about meeting a beastly Bourbon king meeting his downfall in the person of a sassy restaurant owner in Burn For You.
Enemies to Lovers. Marriage of Convenience. Tortured Hero. Beauty and The Beast retelling… Oh the last one got your attention? Well, you’ll love to read about all the parallels and references to the tale as old as time… and enjoy every minute of it!
Jackson Boudreaux, impersonates oh so perfectly the growly and grouchy beast in this modern southern retelling. More beast than man, I loved how the author chose to characterize our tortured and complex hero with a bestial and almost feral behavior. He snarled a lot and he growled even more and I loved it!
Growl count in this book : 27
Yes, I’m well aware a few readers don’t like growling heroes, humans don’t growl I was told by a few… Well guess what? This very reader likes it a whole lot. I find it super hot to witness the hero reach such a level of frustration he calls to his carnal and bestial side by growling and snarling. In this slow burn and hate to love you setting it was more than called for and a great parallel with the Beauty and The Beast references.
Rude, grumpy and surly—every nuance applies— he’s used to get what he wants —or more aptly, what he orders.Unfortunately for him, our heroine, Bianca, has a no nonsense strict policy and Bourbon King or not, Jackson will just have to learn some manners!
Bianca Hardwick, the heroine would easily feature on my favorite heroine’s shelf—if I had one—, she’s smart, packs enough sass to spare an army of cheeky ladies and gives as good as she gets, with witty come-backs and exquisite audacity. Especially when she dares setting straight the man everyone even fears looking in the eyes.
Chef in her own restaurant specializing in southern cuisine—inherited from her mother—she’s dealing with family issues impending a need for immediate funds. Conveniently enough, our prickly beast needs someone to fulfill the role of his wife for a marriage of convenience. Considering both can’t stand each other—but can’t help to lust after one another—it’s off with this promise hate to love you trope that the book really starts.
Another thing worth mentioning, is the immersion in Deep South, Louisiana! I voraciously devoured every bits of Southern slang and idioms! Everything about the setting and secondary characters felt so genuine, I could almost see, hear, taste and smell everything. J.T. Geissinger did a fantastic job at setting the New Orleans’ scene and made me travel the time of a book. I also loved the inclusion of Bianca’s typical recipes throughout the book, opening a few chapters.
Now about the much expected slow burn… I just adored every minute of it! The author did a fine job developing the tension between both heroes, none of them willing to yield on anything, yet, both unintentionally attracted to each other.
The push and pull was a delight to read about, making any small gesture or thought met with high expectations for the reader. I was ready for them to become an item after one chapter! I just knew their pending chemistry and lustful thoughts would lead to some explosive and playful scenes later on.
The building of their relationship was really nicely done, the author skillfully increased the anticipation, gradually dropping hints and clues about Jackson’s past making him a multi layered and complex character you had no choice but to get attached to. Generously sprinkled with a nice dose of humor and banter, Burn For You have everything to set you up for a good time!
This author definitely has a knack for creating sizzling dynamic between her characters! Stretching the tension to the culminating point, she makes the reader antsy to jump off the cliff along with the MCs and just give in to their desire. And I was right there with Bianca and Jackson! The passion between them was eruptive, J.T. Geissinger knows a thing or two about heating up a bedroom! So good! Gosh but I love a good slow burn!
So why not a full 5 stars rating?
The last quart of the book unraveled rather… unexpectedly and so fast it left me a little disappointed. With so much care given to carve such a delectable tortured hero, I was regrettably disconcerted by the quickness the author chose to tie any loose ends and felt robbed of a part of his story. In this case a simple sentence was delivered to excuse and explain years of self-hatred, hurt and misconceptions. One would think over fifteen years of psychological issues, family drama and exile should have easily deserved a little more depth but I do however understand the necessity to keep this book under wraps to meet an —imposed?—length. I personally think this particular side of him was central to the story and should have been explored a bit further and not brushed under the carpet.
I also regret the quickness it took to deal with another issue on the heroine’s side, especially considering it was another initial setup for the main plot. It felt all contrived to me, to draw an issue out for 80% of the book and just dealing with it from what I personally perceived rather… offhandedly.
To conclude, J.T. Geissinger cleverly dishes-up every romance reader’s dream with a clever blend of well loved tropes, a tingling slow burn, a prickling hero with a soft heart and a heroine you can’t help but love and wish you had a tenth of her witiness, all tastefully seared with sexiness, wrapped in quality banter and served with with a well merited HFN!
4/5
This story was a really great reading, with slow burn passion, tons of humor, heat, with some hints that reminded me of the Beauty and The Beast story… I really, really enjoyed it.
It was different from what I’ve read from the author (The Bad Habit Series etc.), but it was as refreshing as addicting… and really hot!
I loved feisty Bianca and raw Jackson, they were the perfect mix and made an excellent story.
This book being the first in the series, I’m looking forward for the next one!
Just two “but”, though: I needed an epilogue!!! And the cover (in my opinion) doesn’t really fit with the character I pictured in my head (Bianca with a darker skin, and Jackson more “beast” and T-shirt and leather vest…
Anyway, grab this book, I just read it in less than two days, I laughed from the beginning and I loved every page of it!
I nearly missed this book and honestly if I did I would have been kicking myself if I only found out after its release . Gessinger is an author I enjoyed immensely because of her way with words. I loved her last release and her new series is definitely shaping up to be a treat. It is a bit of a departure from the Wicked Game series but it is as good as that series. I’m sitting here swooning as the hero is quite a man even though he probably doesn’t see it that way. It takes a special woman to convince him of that fact and their story was magical.
It is quite refreshing when the female is a strong willed woman who is determined to do anything to help her mother. Bianca is a can do it woman but her mother’s cancer diagnose sends her spinning. It’s been the two of them against the world for so long and her New Orleans restaurant was supposed to be their new beginning to a better life .
Bianca is a talented woman and knows she got a good thing going and she isn’t going to let anyone tell her otherwise as she happily will give them sass. Even so she isn’t ready for Jackson ‘ The Beast’ Boudreaux who in one moment sends her world spinning when he burst into her restaurant and makes his mark .
He is rough and rude and he doesn’t care what people thinks. However he offers Bianca an opportunity she can’t refuse and the rest is history as I like to say. It wasn’t smooth sailing of course as Gessinger never gives a straight forward HEA. Instead she delves into a deeper into the characters and writes a beautiful story that you will love
This was book was hot and explosive of a good kind. Their first meeting was electric , setting the tone for the novel. As whilst this book revolves around a cliché of arranged marriage, it not about that . In fact I wasn’t so interested in the cliché that was there or the fact it was inspired by The Beauty and Beast . Gessinger delivers a strong book that focuses on two characters who are battling their way through life for different reasons.
Bianca and Jackson despite their differences were made for each other. They both wanted the best of their loved ones and I loved how they cared for them. It wasn’t just about them, every thing had a repercussion and they were careful about that. The secondary characters were mostly dear and near to them and I loved how they influenced their relationship. It only made things stronger given the situations they were in .
Jackson despite his bravado, is quite a surprise and lends this novel a vulnerability that makes you sworn even more for him . He stole the novel with his story and his ways. There one particular scene, I can’t get out of my head that really cemented this book for me . Quiet frankly I need the next book now as after meeting ‘ The Beast’ and falling in love with his rough ways. He becomes quite a sweetheart by the end as we learn the full story and get swept in to his world with Bianca. Gessinger wrote a quite a book for him as a result and he is one of my favourite characters from her. I love when the tables are turned and you get to see a gentle side to a character that would otherwise be described tough, rude and rough. She has a way with words that allows to convey it to readers that you won’t forget. It all comes together beautiful and Burn for You is one not to be missed.
Wow this book was fantastic. It blew me away it was so good. This is my first book by this author and she totally wowed me. This story was well written and edited, had characters I loved and even had some drama added to the mix.
If you love beauty and the beast overtones, then you will love this story. Jax is our beast and he has good looks but he dresses and looks like a beast, he growls t Bianca when they first meat and he lives in a lonely house. His life changes in a major way when he meets Bianca.
Bianca has a great life, lots of friends, a wonderful restaurant and the best mom ever. But things are not as perfect as she has been led to believe and her world explodes when she learns her mother is very sick. So when the beast offers her a job she grabs it.
But Bianca is very strong. The beast is entranced by her because she stands up to him and well I LOVED this story so much. I loved how strong and brave Bianca is. She stands besides Jax at all times and I totally loved that about her.
This was a wonderful story and I loved the Beauty and the Beast theme and making it all modern like.

So. Much. Goodness!
This book was all the goodness I've come to expect from the mind of JT Geissinger. I laughed out loud, growled in frustration, felt the need to grab the B.O.B and even got all teary eyed and sniffily and I fell into adoration with not only Bianca and Jackson, but the crazy characters that loved them. And if that wasn't enough it made me hungry even when I was already eating. (Trust me it's a thing)
I adored Bianca from the start. She’s a sassy little spitfire with huge heart and loves to cook. She isn't afraid to speak her mind, and boy when she does she goes big. I loved her honesty and compassion
Straight up, Jackson is a Beast. He is gruff, snarly and bossy AF, but he is a good and honorable man underneath it all and I fell into full on adoration with him long before the reasons for his Beastie-ness was revealed. His heart may be bruised and battered, but it's still golden.
Their journey to their HEA was a rocky one, I mean what Beauty and the Beast style love story isn't? But it was a fun one. The chemistry between them was explosive on so many levels that I'm surprised they truly didn't combust. It was fun watching them get to know each other, despite their unconventional situation, and how they ended bringing out the best in each other.
This really was a fun ride that pulled out all the feels with a cast of characters that made me want more. Eeny, Hoyt and Rayford were my absolute favorites and had me wanting to sit down at a table overflowing with food and just listen to the stories of their lives. And speaking of food and drink, dear lord my mouth was watering the entire time and has me wanting to test out each and everyone of them. There was no indication as to what the next book in the series will bring, but I’ll be making sure I get my hands on a copy!
