This is my first novel by this author and I believe it might be my last. I did not get a chance to finish this novel. Based on the description, I was intrigued to say the least. But upon reading the novel (which I never finished) I didn't feel like the characters were mature enough and that the writing style was kind of all over the place and not very organized or well-written. I don't think I will be recommending this novel or author.

I started this book on a Friday evening after a looong week at work and it was the perfect reward. I have never read anything by this author before so I was not sure what to expect but I was immediately sucked into this story. I don't think I moved until I had finished the entire book. I am not sure it was mostly a case of right book at the right time, but it all worked for me- the characters, the setting, the chemistry. Really enjoyed this one and will looking for more from this author.

Amazing new series! I loved this book. So much comedy, while falling in love with the one person she feels she should not fall in love with.

Five stars is not enough for this novel. As I started reading this book I could not help but wish I was actually there witnessing the chaotic meetings between Jackson the Beast and Bianca. The words written on paper were so compelling and so exciting that it just drew the reader into the story. The connection and chemistry that is show between the them is mouthwatering, funny, and touching at the same time. I loved this book. Thank you NetGalley and J.T. Geissinger for allowing me to read an ARC of this book and write a honest review.

Another hit from Geissinger!

The "Beast" is Jax, who is a surly jerk of a man. Bianca is the "Beauty". What develops in the story is one of the best re-imagining I've enjoyed in a long while. He has a soft inside and she is the one who can bring it out. This story is about family, forgiveness, loss, and love. It's perfect.

I absolutely loved this book! Jackson Boudreaux comes from wealth. His family has built a bourbon empire in Kentucky. He has fled that life and is living as a hermit in New Orleans. Chef Bianca Hardwick has a restaurant whose menu is using his family's bourbon in it's recipes, so Jackson comes to check it out. Bianca aptly names him "the Beast" and Jackson is taken with her beauty, but only brings out her fire. This adaptation of Beauty and the Beast is the best I have ever read! Jackson enlists her help for a catering event and eventually ropes her into a fake engagement. Can these two lovers make it "the real deal"? Get ready for this classic tale and for Jax's "Beast Mode"!!! 5 over the top stars

Burn for You, Slow Burn Book 1, J. T. Geissinger

Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews

Genre: General fiction (adult), Romance

A quick word about Genre headings. I'm so glad this is General Fiction and not the (for me) dreaded Women's Fiction. I find that so demeaning, so sexist in this supposedly enlightened times. Are we really saying a while category of books will only appeal to women?
Anyway, that off my chest and on to the book.

I've enjoyed many of J.T.Geissinger's stories, both paranormal and contemporary, so clicked request soon as I saw this. I read it last night and loved it.
I was thinking about what to put in my review this morning earlier, and the dialect was something that struck me. So often its done badly and I cringe ( all those "doona worry lassie" "ach, I'm noo worrit ye fashit man" really make me want to hurl) but done well, as here, it makes me feel I'm there in that setting, that the characters are real. And I've never been to any part of US, but love books with this Southern setting, and have read so many I feel I know the place and the people.

Jackson, what a rude surly man he appeared to be, and his first dictatorial appearance was enough to have many people in tears. That he made one of her staff cry infuriated Bianca, and she lets him have it. Full flow, and she's an amazing range of expressions, one for every circumstance. Of course after meeting her mother and her staff I can see where she gets it from.
I loved the banter between the two, the Slap, Slap, Kiss as it gets termed later ;-)
Bianca's a real star too, hard working, been burned by a man in the past, thrown everything into her restaurant. (I so want to try some of those recipes - though not okra, that stuff just seems to look like mush, jelly, slime, when I've seen it cooked!)

Of course the more we see of Jackson (Jax) and Bianca the more I fell in love with them. I loved hearing their innermost thoughts, seeing what the felt as opposed to what they were saying or doing.
Circumstances are such that they get thrown into an engagement, and Bianca learns more about Jax and begins to see beyond his grouchy exterior to the man hidden underneath.

Its a fabulous story, full of sharp, fresh humour, sizzling sex scenes, characters that I felt I knew, could understand, could "see" in my mind. There something really sad too, that was unexpected, and made me shed a tear or two, that's how emotional and real this book felt.

Stars: five,  a very worthy five star read, and one to keep for re-reading.

I have read others by this author and was expecting to enjoy this book and I was not disappointed by this one... both our hero and heroine had their own quirks but they made the story so much more entertaining.

Jackson with a nickname like "The Beast" was never going to be anything other than grumpy, snarly and without out a doubt like a big marshmallow inside! Bianca is used to being in charge as the head chef/owner of her own New Orleans restaurant and when Jackson comes storming into her restaurant acting like he owns the place, well lets just say they don't get off to the best start!

First off I can't believe I have never read a J.T. Geissinger book before. I love finding new to me authors and I will be one clicking more. I love her writing style. The whole story just flowed effortlessly. I couldn't put it down.

Secondly I loved this book. Burn for you is a beautiful array of emotions. Jackson is a beautiful beast. Seriously who would of thought he is a romantic/softy on the inside with how he comes across to everyone else. I love the kindness he possesses with Cody. He opened up like I never expected and in a good way. I love characters with a lot of heart and he has it and then some. Bianca is a spitfire and I love her sassy ways. The banter between Jackson and Bianca is awesome. I cried a little and cheered at times too. This is one amazing read. If you love marriage of convenience to truly falling in love type reads then this is one for you. I can't wait to read more.

Entrancing love story

This is the first book I've read by J.T. Geissinger but not the last. This book is wonderful and has checking out her back list of books.

Bianca and Jackson are an unlikely couple , but the sparks fly and below it all is two people who are attracted and need one another.
There were moments that made me cry and others that made me laugh out loud.
Truly one of the best books I've read this year.

I received an advance reader copy from NetGalley in exchange for a fair review.

I have never bookmarked so many pages in one book in my life. I want to try literally every single recipe in the book. They were a very unexpected, but delightful touch.

The Southern slang was beautifully done. As a resident of Louisiana, born and raised in the Deep South, reading this book was like listening to the same conversations I've heard my whole life. For those not familiar with how we speak down here, the dialogue and jargon might be a bit of a challenge. But trust me, it's authentic. We love our metaphors and similes as much as we love iced tea and big front porches.

This book made me laugh out loud, and caused big fat tears to stream down my cheeks. That alone will always garner 5 stars. Any book that can twist me in so many emotional directions earns them without any hesitation.

I love the main characters, secondary characters, and the fact that I could've literally been sitting in the room listening to them talk. J.T. Geissinger definitely has a gift for dialogue.

Awesome storyline, awesome setting, awesome naughty bits, all around a fantastic book.

Officially a fan of J.T. Geissinger!
5 stars.

Burn for You, is an emotional roller coaster of a book. Jackson's character is a cross between beast from Beauty and the Beast and the lion with a thorn in his paw. As a matter of fact he is referred to as Beast in the book more than once. I think the love that Bianca has for Jackson is even more sweeter because of this. He made it more difficult for her to even want to get to know him. But oh, the wait was so worth it.
