When Avery stumbled into an uncomfortable situation while trying to find a file she never expected it to get her all hot under the collar. When Carson catches Avery watching the scene in the Boardroom it becomes his job to make sure that she doesn't expose the secret club, but his attraction to her makes the method of doing this entirely pleasurable.
Good story, very HOT and sexy.

I really liked this. I’ve enjoyed Ms. Aicher and her way with developing her characters and exploring relationships within very erotic/sexual settings. Besides the workplace romance’s forbidden aspects, I loved that the main kink of the hero AND heroine is voyeurism and exhibitionism. Ms. Aicher has a way with sex scenes that never neglects the feelings along with the more smutty tingles. She also milks that forbidden office romance angle for every delicious bit of tension and their office party hookup was top notch.
Now, Carson and Avery’s sexual chemistry is strong and the usual things that you expect in an erotic romance are handled well. Ms. Aicher also infuses all those encounters with some good emotional development, so I could believe Avery and Carson are falling for each other.
What I loved though is that there is no ignoring the potential power inequality and consent issues - though Avery is not Carson’s assistant, he is an officer in the company she works for, and there are other men in positions of power who are involved in this group sex scene. I like that there’s some real questions being asked and while the answers aren’t always easy, I liked that these concerns were even addressed.
This is an interesting setup for a series, and I’d be happy to read the next, because I want to see a certain CEO meet his match. I’d recommend this for those who love erotic romances with heat and heart.

After Hours by Lynda Aicher is the First book in "The Boardroom" series.
Everything by day is all professional business where Avery works. But one late day she happens upon something else going on in the Boardroom other than business. Avery learns that there is more going on with the company and she if finding it hard to walk away from. Carson from the first time he saw Avery witnessing the 'After Hours' activities he has wanted her.
This was a very hot story to the start of what seems like a really hot series!!
Lynda Aicher will make you think twice about what happens after hours in Corporate America with this new release. This book had everything I like, and is wonderfully written. Although the plot is a little predictable ( not in a way that makes you say oh that story again, she still manages to keep it fun and intriguing), the story will draws you in. You will want to know the why and especially the how. The sex scenes are incredibly hot (they`ll steam up your windows), and the Characters are easy to connect with. This read gets my vote.
I love Lynda Aicher books and when I saw she had a new series coming out, I just knew I would enjoy it!
The Boardroom is all kinds of taboo! Put together by the big players who have a lot to lose if their sexual proclivities came to light-as in a normal sex club, The Boardroom offers protection with strict rules, boundaries, very secretive events, and an array of play scenes available . All under the guise of detachment. No intimacy, just sex! An app was created to set up scenes and depending on your kink, you can join in, if you choose.
It's understandable these powerful people would be drawn to something like this-if they have a penchant for kink. During the day, they run their fast paced businesses and when the work day ends, their double lives take over in a dark and seductive way. How very seedy, and hedonistic, and taboo!! Avery has no idea about The Boardroom until she forgets a folder and goes back to the conference room to retrieve it. What she stumbles upon is enthralling. She should have bolted, but she was rooted to the spot! Not really believing what she was seeing-and in the conference room to boot! Then she sees Carson directing the scene and he notices her! Whoa! Talk about hot and overwhelming......and she liked it!
Carson seeing Avery glued to her spot at the door. What to do now?? He has to contain this quick-for everyone involved. They have had crashers before and have been dealt with swiftly and quickly. There is something about her though, that has peaked his interest. He saw how she was reacting to what she saw. She liked it! You can not fake those visceral reactions! He offers her a chance to explore this side of herself-one she never knew she had.
Avery is loving this sexual awakening she's embarked on, but she's having some inner moral issues. She has a hard time keeping her feelings outside of The Boardroom scenes. She seems to share the voyeurism kink Carson has, but realizes she can not detach herself from him. And there's those confining and conservative views she was raised with. Easily recognizable in her head, but much harder to rationalize in her heart. She has a hard time coming to grips with what she likes sexually.
This book was an eye-opener that was very outside the box. I liked that the moral was the double standard of women:
"We-" she motioned to the two of them "-are supposed to be prudes until we get into our husbands' bedrooms. Then it's okay for us to be wild, passionate sex goddesses. But only there. And all those women who openly engage in sex or dress in a way that draws attention to their assets? They're great to ogle and fuck, but not to marry. What a joke."
This in a nutshell was Avery coming to terms with her sexual awakening. That it is ok to like what you like, and you need not be embarrassed by it. But how can she see these people outside of The Boardroom? They know what she's done there! No one in The Boardroom was judging her though, she was only passing judgement on herself! Her girlfriend set her straight with the above quote and I loved it!
Lynda Aicher gives us an interesting read from a different perspective. Everyone has different views and they are never right or wrong-most likely shades of gray. It's how you view yourself and being ok with what you see, is the crux of the matter. Avery's sexual journey was an enlightening one.
The Boardroom is sure to be an interesting series! The prequel with Trevor had me glued, and I can not wait to get his story and meet more of the participants!!

This was a DNF for me because I there really was no spark between the hero and heroine! There was just no romantic chemistry and basically, they just went at it - it wasn't even romantic.
An interesting twist on erotic romance that plays out in the boardrooms of reputable companies instead of in a club.
As I read this and other erotic romances that so much romance du jour I wonder if kink is a rich man's privilege. This story underscores that further by implying that it's restricted to the upper echelon of successful corporations. Its not clear how one receives an invitation to play since it isn't necessarily talked about openly but then Avery just short circuits the process by visiting her company boardroom after hours when a scene is in session.
Invited into the boardroom by none other than the head of IT for the firm where she works she finds her desires at war with her upbringing as she and Carson indulge in hot erotic encounters that burn off her panties until she decided to forgo them. While their relationship might have started off as a way to scratch their kink both Carson and Avery soon find softer feelings flaring up between them. Can they navigate their soon to become rocky path to find that perfect blend of romance and kink.
This book is for readers who enjoy their romance with a strong touch of erotica
This was a interesting read for me. It's been a while since i read an erotica that caught my attention like this. I don't believe i have read this author before either. Avery sees something in the boardroom of her office after work hours. Instead of running away she stays and watches until she's caught. What she sees excites and confuses her. Carson is seemingly a alpha type male and part of a sex group called The Boardroom. He's had a eye on Avery for a while then when she sees him telling a man what to do to a naked women in the boardroom he thinks he might have finally got a chance based on her reaction. There is some phenomenal sex scenes, some alpha male bossiness and rethinking of how both Carson and Avery see themselves. I loved both Avery and Carson. They just clicked for me. Carson thought he knew what he was doing with Avery but then something changes and suddenly things were not so simple and casual anymore. Then it all fell apart. Looking forward to seeing where this author goes next with this series.

Interesting read this was, aside from the smoking hot sex, the alpha boss and the whole arranged scene set ups. I liked the two main characters. I didn't like Trevor. I thought he was an ass and a little too uppity for me. Drake was a background character. I liked the premise of the book and yes,
I'd definitely read the future books to see what they brought to the table.
This is a short read with plenty of smoke and fire. I loved the way he protected her, but at the same time encouraging her to explore her inner desires. I only had one issue and that was for his role in the boardroom and his alpha nature, I thought he was a little too "soft" when it came to Avery. It just didn't fit with Carson's demeanor elsewhere. But still I liked him. Loved Gregory and Tam too.
This is a great read and beginning to what I hope will be an interesting series!

**arc from Net Galley and Carina Press in exchange for a fair and honest review**
This new series from talented Ms. Aicher has captured my attention. I revel in the fantasies played out in the Boardroom. This story is where powerful men and women come to play off their dark taboos. It is glorious, the directing of sexual partners as well as the voyeurism. Love it. The alpha men created in this series are the ones who push my erotic button and I just melt. I have a weakness for men in suits who are ruthless yet a strict morale code. This dichotomy makes me want to submit and play in their kinky games.
Seems as if Avery is attracted to and enticed by the same sort of man. When she accidentally walks into a private scene, she is horrified yet aroused. Trying to quietly back away, she is caught by an executive in the company she works for, Carson. Their relationship takes on a whirlwind pace of passion, lust and kinky delights. It is never easy when pleasure is mixed with business. Is it all just a game to humiliate Avery? Can she continue to work with the men she's seen in hot sex scenes? Will they out her? How does one know when to draw the line during work? The blurring between work and pleasure threatens to overwhelm Avery.
Stepping into reality for a bit, this story is an HR nightmare, especially in the current climate of #metoo. The inherent power the men wield because of their position makes it questionable if women are actually able to say no for fear of retaliation. So what is it when these fantasies play out in an erotic romance novel, it is so attractive? I have my theories but for fear of being lynched by an angry mob, I'll keep them to myself.
Stepping back into the fantasy of this series, I love it. I like the direction Ms. Aicher is going and I really like how there is a slight element of danger. I can not wait to see who is up next and to get the back story of the one who created The Boardroom. The prequel novella teaser gives a nice highlight and I want more. This well crafted book is smooth as silk and sexy to boot. Recommended to erotica romance lovers who enjoy power plays in both the boardroom and bedroom.
After Hours is the first full length book in The Boardroom series by Lynda Aicher. By day the board room is where meetings take place and decisions are made. But when the sun goes down it is a different sort of dealing that takes place where the suits get put away and those invited come to play. I like this book I found the interaction and story quite well written and look forward to reading more.
Talk about things heating up in the Boardroom and I don't mean in the hot under the collar executives arguing in a meeting kind of way. The Boardroom is an erotic playground after hours and when Avery inadvertently walks in and sees what is happening, she is drawn in by sexy Carson and starts down a path of erotic pleasure the likes of which she has never seen or experienced. At it's core, this is a love story between Carson & Avery and I was happy that it wasn't all about the kink and that they actually have an intimate relationship outside of the boardroom.
This is a very well written erotic story with a lot of hot times and a H/h I liked very much.
After Hours not your run of the mill Erotica. This is the full-length novel in Lynda Aicher new series The Boardroom.
Avery Fast had to stay after hours to make sure she had everything for tomorrow meeting when she realized she was missing a report. But staying After Hours was more than what she hired on for when she witnessed a scene in The Boardroom which later put her on the road to explore carnal desire with the one man she thought was out of her league.
This book was not just HOT it was flammable. I couldn’t get enough of this book. Quick pace storyline and well-developed characters. A pleasant difference from the first title in the series. Most certainly a must read for any fan who enjoys Erotica with a well thought out plot.
HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT
OMG....This is one HOT book!
You're led to believe from the start that the book is going to be based entirely on what happens in the boardroom. And while that's definitely where the book starts (the boardroom is HOT), it does not exclusively take place there.
The characters interact outside of the boardroom; it's not just a matter of being intimate with one another. They actually get to know each other outside of the boardroom which I really appreciated. I loved this about the book; all too often there isn't enough emotional connection between the characters in a book like this.
Can't wait to read the next book in the series.
Carson and Avery’s story is hot. I enjoyed reading this book. The only thing for me is I’d love to see more of their relationship develop a little more and more of them as a couple outside of The Boardroom.
This follows Carson and Avery and their adventures with the boardroom which is a secret sex club set-up for safe and private sexual exploration of those whose are member. I really enjoyed how Avery managed to accidently stumble upon the boardroom and I think it made for a really great first story in “The Boardroom” series. As Avery learned more about the Boardroom and what it was, what happened there and how it worked so did we and it was really useful to not have both characters knowing what was going on as they obviously had to learn along with us. I was worried this wasn’t going to happen because of the Prequel Novella “Done Deal” which I didn’t enjoy but gave us an introduction into “The Boardroom” and some of its background so I didn’t think the background would feature as much in this but I’m definitely glad I did.
This does involve a lot of sexual exploration, mainly for Avery, as she tries to figure out what she wants from her Boardroom experience as you can pretty much tailor make the experience to you depending on the scene that is occurring for that boardroom meeting. The boardroom is also a very secretive and private place (which is the whole point) which means that you can’t talk about it with anyone who isn’t a member and it’s also a judgement free place which was something that Avery definitely struggled with at first and again it was great to see her going through the motions of feeling guilty for what she likes, to just accepting that everyone likes different things and there’s nothing wrong with that.
There wasn’t that much character development around the main characters Avery and Carson which I wasn’t actually mad at. This book was very much just centred on Avery and Carson’s relationship and them finding out what they want from each other and dealing with the feelings which are developing for each other along with the sexual exploration side of things too. You did get a bit of background on some of the characters like Avery’s boss Gregory and his Wife and Avery’s roommate Karen so it wasn’t 100% focused on Avery and Carson. You also get an introduction to Drake who is a friend of Carson’s and a fellow member of the boardroom who has actually been present in one of the scenes that Avery and Carson were present at – I presume that this is so he can be in the next book and we’ll have an idea of who he was in this book
I really enjoyed this book and I thought the mix of romance with also sexual and self-discovery was very well done and they played very well off of each other. It was executed in a way where Avery was relying on Carson to help her self-discovery but only because he was most experienced and knew more about how to do it and I feel that if Avery and Carson didn’t end up together in this book, then Avery would still be interested in continuing her sexual exploration without Carson because all he’d done was help open her eyes to possibilities and it didn’t feel like it was dependent upon Carson being there.
I don’t really feel like the first book added that much to this book to be honest; it gave you a short introduction to Trevor but you can definitely read this book straight away without reading Done Deal.
Quick, easy erotica that explores the concept of voyeurism in a high powered office setting, coupled with a love interest that is part hedonistic, part domination. I was a little uncomfortable with the relationship not because Avery questioned her own sexuality - I'm totally for any story line where a character is able to explore their preferences in a safe space, without questions or judgement - but because I did feel that there was a power imbalance created by withholding information. Still, fans of the genre will enjoy it, and the preview novella before, so I hope Archer continues with the series.
The sex is hot in here but the difference from so many romance books is that it’s backed with meaning and Love......throughout the book you really feel the characters love for each other so if you’re after a book with some fun in it but has meaning then I highly recommend this book for you.
Pushing papers isn’t the only thing going on in this Boardroom!
Lynda Aicher’s Done Deal is a prequel of sorts to The Boardroom series. It’s short, spicy, and whets the appetite for more.
There was such power in secrets.
This short story sets the tone for the future series. There’s a lot more going on in Trevor James’s business dealings then just business—there’s pleasure too. One woman, in particular, catches Trevor’s attention, and they have a history that’s hinted at. And bonus? She's all game for some boardroom shenanigans.
It’s such a brief story, but what we do see of Trevor I really enjoyed. He has this biting humor, but he also seems like a fairly no-nonsense guy (and he's in his 40s!) Danielle’s a supernova of a businesswoman who owns her choices, and with the backstory hinted at, I’m salivating for more. I love women on top!
That said, I was a little confused exactly where this prequel is going, considering the first full-length book doesn’t deal with these two characters (or any introduced). I’m interested enough, however, that I’m definitely picking up the next book.
Let’s see where these sensual interludes take us, shall we?
3.5 stars!
