Thank you so much for the opportunity to read this book. Unfortunately it’s not for me. Did not finish @ 15%
A great book that helps all writers get through the every day difficulties of the writing life. Very inspirational!
A decent collection of suggestions to build your resiliency as a working writer. I did not care for the format and felt it could have been split up in a more accessible form ( a page a day, not set up by month, etc).
This book is a wonderful collection of meditations for writers to read daily.
I liked the quotes from other writers the most!!!

This is a book which takes a more holistic approach to writing and looks at not just how to improve your wirting skills but also build up your resilience to deal with the challenges that writing can throw up such as rejection or writers block. This is the perfect present for someone who really wants to focus on their writing craft and has time every day to devote to it.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This is a fantastic book for the inspiring author or professional writer.
I would like to thank Llewellyn Worldwide, Ltd. for providing me with a free electronic copy of this book, via Netgalley, in exchange for an open and honest review.
Okay, so anyone who follows my other reviewer platforms (Facebook, Twitter or Instagram) will have noticed that I am also a writer and have had three books published. And so was drawn to ‘Daily Writing Resilience’ as I am often hitting that wall of “I don’t wanna” when I am writing. So I was seeking advice, inspiration, and possibly even a virtual kick up the bum to get me to work on my ANY of my current WIP (Works in Progress).
And… it worked! And I kept telling myself: “I need this book as a perpetual desk calendar!” as the biggest bug bear I had about it was reading it all in one day… When it was the perfect nudge forward for, well, every day. So a book that lived up to its title – go figure. ;-)
I am nowhere in the league of Mr Robinson’s when it comes to actual writing achievements but I still felt a connection. That struggling author’s zone we writers of all skillsets hit from time to time. Whether it be when I was writing technical documents for a paid job, blogging for myself, writing a book, freelancing or even being here reviewing… There is a wall we sometimes hit and struggle that takes place where the doubt of our worth as a writer clashes with our constant desire to write. As I keep telling people – I write because I breathe. Both are as equally important to me. And so I found ‘Daily Writing Resilience’ almost like a lifeline. A “hey, it’s not just you.” moment showing that even well-known authors suffer the same problems and sometimes also need that same virtual kick up the bum to keep them going. To keep them realising this is what they should be doing as writing is life.
Or maybe I am just being a bit of a hippy about it all. ;-)
All the same I found comfort, encouragement, hope and gratitude within this book and… yes I really want it as a desk calendar! Or maybe even a computer screen saver that pops up with its daily comments every time I go to play solitaire rather than write my daily 5,000 words!
The layout would work as a calendar too – just saying.
Would I recommend this book to others?
Yes I would. Writers, authors, even artists would find this daily bit of advice of use. It truly is a “hang in there, you’ve got this” sort of book where “this” may change for each of us… but it acknowledges it does indeed exist and we should keep going.
So, yes, if writing is as important to you as breathing, eating, etc… I would recommend this book to you. Think of it as a daily bit of Writer’s Mindfulness.
Uh-oh, I am going hippy again!
Would I buy this book for myself?
Yes I would…. I’d prefer it as a desk calendar – pretty sure I’ve said this already – but in paperback form it would be just as good. So that when my mind wanders and my fingers need something to fiddle with, I can grab it, read it and be inspired to get off my procrastinating backside and get back to the writing.
In summary: A book of inspiration to writers of all skill sets. I highly recommend.
Daily Writing Resilience provides some thoughts and writing personal goals for every day of the year. It's a perfect companion to anyone who is trying to write a book or just want daily inspiration as a writer.
This has been an excellent resource that I will treasure for as long as I live! I'm buying a physical paper copy because I think this type of book serves better as one that you can flip through at leisure.
I often found myself reading "too far" through the daily meditations, but it really didn't matter, as I could come back again and again and the words would still feel fresh to me.
I'd recommend this to basically anyone who was willing to hear me out about it — not just writers, but especially them.
Thank you to NetGalley and Bryan Robinson for letting me read and review Daily Writing Resilience:
365 Meditations & Inspirations for Writers. I LOVE this book! It gives me a push when I need it, and offers me prompts for introspection and confidence. It motivated me, and I love the quotes included. 5/5
Daily Writing Resilience by Bryan Robinson is a collection of 365 meditations on the writing life. These short passages are quite short but still meaningful and worth reading on a daily basis. Each one starts with a quote by an author or famous person and discusses a topic related to the writing life. What I love most is that overall the meditations are very encouraging and they are perfect for encouraging a writer to plod on in any situation. I will be returning to this book often. I received a digital copy of this book from the publisher for review purposes. These opinions are entirely my own.

I am reviewing a copy of Daily Writing Resilience through Llewelyn Publications and Netgalley:
In this book we are reminded that even the most experienced writers have experienced rejections, setback and even heartbreak we've poured our hearts into our writing only to be told it's not good enough.
In this book we are given the inspiration we need that shows writers how to be resilient. We are reminded that once we stop trying to write for approval and instead search for our own voices instead.
This book reminds us that Authors must learn to accept that there is uncertainty in this business, it's not guaranteed that everyone will like our book, that we will even sale our book, but if we give up before we begin then we truly do loose hope!
I give Daily Writing Resilience five out of five stars!
Happy Reading
Thanks for the ARC. Actually this book is a good motivation boost-up for any kind of action in life (not just for writing, and ensuring gradual improvement in the written word).
I enjoyed this book of daily readings. As the author states, the book can be started anytime although there is a reading for each day of the year. Each uplifting reading includes a quote, an short inspirational writing, and a takeaway to encourage writers to write each day. It is sort of like a portable pat-on-the-back to keep writing for each day.
In Daily Writing Resilience, Bryan Robinson provides a reading for each day of the year designed to improve a writer’s resiliency. He breaks each reading into three parts: a quotation, advice, and short takeaway. Readings cover topics such as exercise, meditation, breath techniques, stress management, decluttering, and mindful eating. While this book contains sound advice that will improve the well-being of the writer and help him or her to continue in the face of rejection, self doubt, etc., Robinson does not provide specific advice directed to writing itself. In that sense, this book may be of some interest to anyone pursuing a creative endeavor, but if the reader is looking for writing exercises or prompts to get over that latest bout of writer’s block, this may not be the best choice.
This is a great resource full of inspiration and advice. While it’s structured and set out as a writers daily message of sorts, I think it delivers words of wisdom that would translate well to other creative endeavors as well.
This series of daily inspiring stories, prompts, quotes, and activities is already really changing the way I view the creative process. I am following along with the daily required reading and this brief one pageto my morning routine has made an unaccountably large difference to my day.
I received a complimentary ARC copy of Daily Writing Resilience ~ 365 Meditations & Inspirations for Writers from NetGalley & Llewellyn Publications in order to read and give an honest review.
I loved this book and found it to be incredibly motivational. Bryan Robinson's inspirational book is a daily devotional for writers. Daily Writing Resilience offers a writer 365 days of prompts and advice, sure to help get their creativity flowing. The book is dated containing daily quotes, valuable snippets of wisdom and what the author calls "Today's Takeaway" which are tips to help any writer be the best they can be. It doesn't matter if you are a seasoned writer, battling writer's block or just starting to get your feet wet, I would definitely recommend Daily Writing Resilience to anyone looking for motivation.
This nifty little book of short (one page) daily readings takes a writer on a 365 day journey. I found each entry to contain a snippet of wisdom or a slice of advice to treasure and take with me through my day. I am a writer of both fiction and spiritual/personal growth nonfiction and many of the short essays resonated with me and more importantly, inspired me to continue writing even when my "inner chorus" starts to convince me otherwise.
This is a type of devotional book for writers to use monthly by day so as to get writing inspiration. And for many of us authors who search the internet for writer's quotes to get pumped up for a day or week of writing, this is a great resources.
I'm also a fan of writing quotes with fountain pens and various colored fountain pen inks, so I hope to use this as a resource to write a quote in my daily penmanship practice.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this book.
