I received an ARC of this book from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.
This is another winner in the Dirty Little Secrets series by Stacey Kennedy. It was so good! I really liked the storyline and the chemistry between Gabe & McKenna is sizzling hot.
I’ve been waiting for Gabe’s book because I just knew I was going to fall hard for him. He may be quite dominant and possessive but he is also so sweet, kind and generous. I was also happy that Ryder, Alex, and Micah all have roles in this story so we are able to keep in touch with them a bit.
McKenna has been working for Gabe at his bar for a year. That’s one whole year that Gabe has had to struggle to keep his hands off her because of his no dating employees rule. He is attracted to more than just her face and body, he likes that she is a strong woman and has a sharp wit too. There is so much more to her that he doesn’t know about her though and he really wishes he could find out.
He’s been getting a lot of bad press lately and as much as he doesn’t want to believe it, he and Ryder think it’s McKenna leaking the info to the tabloid. So he decides before he confronts her that he will allow himself to have her because he knows she wants him too; and it will probably be his one and only time due to fact that he is going to be accusing her of betraying him. But did she do it?
There is so much more to this story and it’s very enjoyable so I found I had to just keep on reading until I finished. The sexy times between Gabe & McKenna were super hot especially the one time he takes her to his club.
I love the surprise cameo near the end of the book too. That was great!
If you love this series, this book does not disappoint. It is definitely worth the read.
I liked McKenna and Gbe's story well enough. Disadvantaged girl meets billionaire is usually an enjoyable trope. For whatever reason, though, this book never took off for me. Perhaps I was a bit triggered by the violence that McKenna suffered at the loan shark's goon. Whatever the reason, it's three out of five for me, sorry.
I really enjoyed this one, it was nice to see the thread throughout the four books being tied up so satisfyingly at the end! I'm glad that Kenna and Gabe got their happy ending, they deserved it!
another good story from Stacey Kennedy!
While I thought the angst/drama bits were over a little too quickly & easily, I enjoyed the characters and storyline, as usual :) Ms. Kennedy is a must read author for me anytime.
I received this book from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review. This is the final book in this series by Stacey Kennedy. I really loved the series and hated that I had to wait for each book. This book was wonderful like the others. In book 3 we were left with the idea that the men of the D.C. Had been betrayed by Gage's employee Kenna that he had fallen for. Cuffed, like the other books had lots of suspense until we learned out how the information was given to the tabloids. I loved that the characters in books 1-3 kept showing up in each other's books. I loved the dynamics between Gabe and McKenna in this book as well as the suspense that surrounded looking for her brother. I'm sad the series is over and look forward to new books by Ms. Kennedy. This is a solid five stars.
Oh my!! Super helpful tress in every page!!! Love this series and can’t wait for my more !
Wow. Gabe goes balistic when he thinks Mckenna sold him and his friends out. Now he has to some how make it up to her and regain her trust. Mckenna is devastated that Gabe would think that she sold information on him.
I've enjoyed this series & really enjoyed this final installment. Gabe & McKenna's steamy romance grabs you right from the beginning. This story has romance, intrigue, twists, & turns. I love getting to see what the other characters from the series are up to as well. Highly recommend this book!
This book is hot, sexy and amazing. I am so glad I read this book! I will have a full review on retailers on release date. Thank you so much for the opportunity!!
I laughed, I sighed and I devoured the entire book. This in my opinion is the best book of hers I've read. I did enjoy reading and I felt the characters were three dimensional and relatable.
McKenna has not had an easy life and her brother, Evan is a huge part of the problem. When her boss Gabe, accused her of selling his secrets she realized Evan is the culprit. While she and Gabe try to unravel the mess Evan’s thrown them into they find themselves realizing how much they both want to be together. Hot and steamy with a HEA ending!
passionate intense read with a through story line and in depth characters.
The last in the Dirty Little Secrets series can be read as a standalone (but you'd be missing out on three other great stories!) and was a great way to wrap up the series. While this wasn't my favorite of the four, that does not in any way diminish the enjoyment of this series.
A couple of things did bothered me. My first issue is with Gabe's treatment of McKenna when he believes she's guilty. It's just wrong. McKenna's initial reaction to his behavior is appropriate. But after that? She forgives Gabe way to easily for his actions which makes her look weak.
Further, McKenna's subsequent behavior seems extremely naive for someone with a past like hers. This naivety continues with blind loyalty to her brother even to the extend of putting her in danger for him (enabling his behavior even when she acknowledges that what she's done for her brother has only perpetuated his gambling addiction). And again, her astonishment and reaction of how Ryder, Gabe's friend who owns a very successful security detail company, finds more conclusive evidence during their investigation also makes her look rather naive.
Bright points though? Many and one is Alex, Ryder's second-in-command and computer hacker extraordinaire (amongst other skills!) who is such a strong, capable woman. I enjoyed the way Ryder really looks at Alex as his equal - a very strong asset to his success. I'm hoping she gets a story of her own! Gabe's other friends, Darius and Micah, also add to the story - and will make you want to read about their own stories in this series!
And beyond Gabe's initial behavior, he goes to great lengths to right his wrong with McKenna. He has many facets and shows his intelligence in many different situations. You definitely understand how he became the successful businessman he is.
And the epilogue? Great for tying up this last book on the series!
Thank you NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group - Loveswept for an advance reader copy in exchange for an honest review.
Another hit book by this amazing author. Each new book is different but has the same things you have come to love in her books which just shows what a very talented and brilliant author she is. Would recommend any of her books but especially this one as it just grabs you and doesn’t let go.
I was so excited for Gabe’s book and loved his personality and passion and caring. Yeah, he was an a*hole at the beginning but when he realized his mistake he became a true friend. I was not as fond of McKenna. She is nice but does not realize her enabling attitude until almost too late. I know this is a plot point but she could have been feistier. The beginning of the book starts off with a bang but then slowed down a lot. Still looking for a spin-off of Blackwood Security. 3.5
Cuffed by His Charm leaves you with the burning desire to read more. Cuffed by His Charm is a first-person narration / POV. The relationship with our two main characters starts off with trust issues. When a tabloid writes a piece outlining the secret life of our hero… Gabe. The first person that came to his mind was McKenna the women that have his world spinning from the start. To finally get her out of his head and life, the confrontation was anything but employer to employee.
McKenna has had a bad life since the day she was born. She took on the responsibility of raising her younger brother, which that along was bringing her down. Now, it seems that her brother has gotten himself into more trouble, which leads Gabe to believe that she would betray him. Now with her brother gone missing, it would be up to Gabe and his friends to help McKenna before it’s too late…for them.
Cuffed by His Charm a truly romantic read. After I came to terms with having to be in either one of the main characters head all the time. Cuffed by His Charm turned into a really good read. The progression of Gabe and McKenna was believable and hot.
The only part I didn’t like was the choice that McKenna made, after all the things that Gabe did for her. Being that this book has an HEA, the choice worked itself out in the end.
Cuffed by His Charm is a must read, for any reader who doesn’t mind turmoil before getting to the HEA. It’s even worth it, just to see how Gabe makes up for the wrong that he had done.
This is the fourth book to the series Dirty Little Secrets!
Gabe O'Keefe is a very private man. Even though he is a multimillionaire he prefers to work at his pub as a bartender. Working at the pub is more his style and relaxing for him. He also enjoys the view of his employee Mckenna Archer. He is very attracted to her but refuses to make a pass at his employee. Everything changes when he finds out who has been selling stories about him and his friends to the tabloids. Gabe feels betrayed by Mckenna. How will he get passed this betrayal.
Mckenna Archer is a bartender at Gabe's pub. She comes from a hard past but is a very caring and a trust worthy person. She would never think about hurting Gabe by betraying his trust. Will she be able to convince Gabe that she's on his side?
Told in first person. I just can’t get into books like that.
Cuffed by His Charm by Stacey Kennedy is Book 4 of the Dirty Little Secrets Series.
This was the first book of the series that I’ve read and I wasn’t at all hindered by starting out on this book. Cuffed is a sexy read that incorporates a bit of action/suspense and is light in the BDSM area. Steady paced, you will enjoy the world Kennedy has created for this interesting storyline.
An ARC was generously provided in exchange for an honest review of which this is both honest and completely voluntary.
Honestly, I am not sure how I felt about this book. I liked the book but I wasn't in love with it. I didn't like that Mckenna was so weak. Gabe used her in the beginning. He was wrong and yet she easily forgave him. Then there was the deadbeat brother Evan that bailed out time and time even if it endangered her own life. I also felt sometimes the chemistry between Kenna and Gabe felt stilted. I found it hard to believe that they were in love. They both spent most of the book thinking about guilt and regret over the other. That it got tiresome for me. I am glad they got their happy ending though. This is my honest opinion while reviewing this book for NetGalley.
I’ve read some of Stacy’s work before but it’s been a while and I’m glad I was reintroduced. This was a steamy , well written book- five stars all the way.
