Passing Judgment gives a thorough treatment of the research behind judgment, praise and blame. The individual chapters focus on communications of judgment in different relationships (parent/child; peer; mate; work) but one of the most interesting and timely is the chapter on social media. This volume is quite academic in tone and approach. For a more accessible look at these issues which also offers a self-help take on things, look to the work of Brene Brown.
