I could not get into this book at all. I appreciate that the author is American, but the circs that she described at the start, about the mugging, the hero carrying the heroine off in his arms and summoning his personal/family physician, in Canary Wharf of all places? Would not happen. It's a business area and GPs in the UK don't work like this. Emergency services don't work like this. The Tube doesn't work like this. Even 5 pages were kind of insulting to read. Sorry, but true.

I loved it and I can't wait for the next one to see what happens. I simply adored both of the main characters and couldn't stop reading it. Rhyannon, you never disappoint.

4.5 Stars I don’t normally read serial but as this was Rhyannon Byrd of course I was going to read it!! The first of a three-part serial. I really enjoyed The Weekend it introduces us to Emmy Reed an American art-history graduate and Jase Beckett the millionaire playboy. I won’t give too much away but, will say I think this is going to be a gorgeous love story and one you should definitely read

This is the first part of a three part series, and even though it’s a quick read it’s a very enjoyable read.
Emmy Reed is an American art-history graduate in London looking for an interview with J.J.Harrison an reclusive artist. When she is attacked on the London Underground the last person she expects to come to her rescue is a stranger called Jase, who not only is very hot he also happens to be the grandson of J.J Harrison is this Fate !
Jase a alpha male who has had his fair share of women but none have had the effect Emmy has had on him, so when he needs a partner for the weekend to attend a family wedding he uses his grandfathers name and a promise of a tour of the artwork to get her to agree to be his fake girlfriend.
Jase’s family ate nothing like Emmy’s and she finds herself wanting to protect and rescue him when things get tough but sometimes you just have to walk away.....
I will be honest and say I’m not normally a fan of cliffhangers but I understand book 2 The Chase will be released on Oct 24 so not long to wait. I really liked the characters and the chemistry was sizzling and I do believe this will become into an amazing love story, if book one is anything to go by.
Looking forward to reading The Chase.

I'll be honest, this really wasn't my cuppa. I'm all for a bit of drama but I don't think I have ever been faced by such a shiteshow of a family as the hero's. The men have absolutely zero respect for women: they cheat on their wives and fiancées, they'll talk to a chest before a face and don't understand the word no. A therapist would have a bloody field day with this bunch of dickheads. There's also an evil stepmother who, not to be left out, is fairly skilled at the old cheating malarkey herself.

There's no point fighting it, yes it's short but I despise his family, they have killed my mojo and not even hot sexy-time or decent writing can make up for them. I have however heard rather good things about Rhyannon Byrd's paranormal romances so I'll chalk this one up to experience and try one of those.

The first part of a three part series. This is a quick read and a great start to what I believe will become a beautiful love story.

Emmy Reed is an American art-history graduate, she visits London in the hopes of getting an interview with reclusive artist J.J. Harrison but after a surprise altercation with some would-be thieves she finds herself in the office of the Mr Dreamy she had been eyeing off on the train with a nasty knock on her head.

Jase Beckett has an offer Emmy can't refuse, the opportunity to see Harrison's private art collection, only catch is Emmy has to pretend she is Jase's girlfriend at a family Wedding at the weekend.

Thanks to Netgalley and Hachette Australia for the opportunity to read and give an honest review and look forward to reading part 2 - The Chase.
