Make Me Yours by Rebecca Brooks is a reunited lovers story with a bit of a twist and it’s one that drives me a bit insane. While I can appreciate that the heroine thought she was doing the right thing, I hate when men aren’t given a choice to be a part of their child’s life and while they were both to blame for the miscommunication the night she told him and he didn’t remember, there was no reason for her not to try and contact him again. Meeting up and coming rock star, Ryan Thomas, was a heady experience for good girl, Claire Collins, and he turned her world on its axis in more ways than one.

Almost six years after Claire left Ryan, her world is thrown into a tailspin when he shows up in the small town she has chosen to raise her daughter and he finds out that she’s been keeping a secret from him. They both made mistakes, but once they are reunited the attraction burns bright and the more time they spend together the harder it is for them to remember what kept them apart especially when their daughter, Maya, is completely enamored with her Mom’s new friend, Ryan. A bit too predictable scenario gives Claire a reason to lash out at Ryan and sends him running; thankfully they both have good friends to knock some sense into them for not only them, but for their daughter.

I enjoyed parts of this story quite a bit, but I really wished we would have seen more of them bonding as a family, more scenes with her friends that have helped her through the tough times, and more of them as the couple they are today. Most of all I wanted to see Claire confront her parents because the choices they made affected all three of them, and that story line was left hanging.

While at times sweet and sentimental and at other times sexy as hell, this book was lacking the substance needed to make it an outstanding romance.

This was an okay story but I don't feel like Rebecca Brooks did a good job of pulling in the reader. I didn't really connect with any of the characters.

I struggled with this one. I am not really a fan of secret children. Bu then, this one was not really secret. Ryan was so trashed at one point in his life, he didn't really remember that his girlfriend told him she was pregnant and that she was having their baby. Instead, he drinks even more and she leaves.

This being the premise behind the book, I didn't love it. To be honest, I struggled to even read it.

I haven’t read any of Rebecca Brooks prior books so I didn’t know how this would go since Make Me Yours is the third in a series. I was so happy that it didn’t matter that I didn’t know what happened in previous books!

Meeting Ryan Thomas was quite the experience for Claire Collins. Now 6 years after Claire is left by Ryan, Claire is forced to tell Ryan the secret she’s kept from. This part was kind of cliche, and I hate saying that it was what I expected, but the writing was good about this part and their daughter was super cute!

Ryan is surprised to find out he has a daughter and had missed years of her life. But he also has to contend with the burning attraction between Claire and him.

The whole book was cliched and expected. The couple fight but make up. I did like the writing and the characters and the secondary characters. I wish the author had more of a twist to keep the reader engaged more.

The main reason I couldn’t give more stars is because we didn’t get to see they made bond as a family! We didn’t get to see that as much as I think it should have been written about.

I wonder if I would have liked this more if I had read the previous books before this one, but I won’t know now. I would suggest readers read books 1 and 2 before reading this one, just to make sure!

I love second chance romance. The characters were intriguing. A definite read with a happily ever after. Love with a musician that had problems and learned to overcome them.

I love books with a second chance romance. The main characters are smoking hot. A really great read.

Don't you just loooove second chance romances? I mean no matter what they are meant to be.. Always.
And this was just the same case.. The girl falls in love and then she hides her baby from the guy because she knows he won't want it.. But years later he's back and he wants in...

Make Me Yours is a second chance love story. I read the blurb and knew I wanted to read this, plus Claire has been mentioned in previous books so I wanted to read her story. The story was okay, but I was hoping for more. The characters were likeable, and they had deep feeling for eachother.

Recieved from Netgalley to review.

I tried really hard to love this book, but something about our lead characters prevented this from happening. Ryan and Claire run into each other again after five years. Claire was basically his doormat as he tried to hit it big as a rock star. Ryan was also an alcoholic - so much so he blacked out the news she was pregnant.

Ryan is now sober and supposedly changed, but consistently is putting his career first even when he finds out about his daughter. I found it odd that he learns about his daughter but doesn't insist on meeting her immediately. Instead, he and Claire are too busy going on dates and sleeping together. After all she's been through, Claire was ready to jump back into Ryan.

They find their HEA with everyone finding a way to make their lives and careers work, but the turnaround for Ryan and Claire seemed a little rushed and unbelievable for me. Not enough redemption before the ending.

I did enjoy the writing style and will give more books of this author a try.

Finally, finally, a heroine in the Men of Gold Mountain series that I ended up liking and connecting to! I've liked the preceding 3 stories in this series (Make Me Stay, Make Me Beg, and Make Me Want), but they've all featured heroines that, for whatever reason, I didn't like or connect to. But finally, here in Make Me Yours, Claire is a heroine I ended up really liking and connecting to.

Claire has been raising her daughter on her own for the past 5 years in the small town of Gold Mountain. Her daughter, Maya's father is nowhere in the picture and Claire wants to keep it that way because by the time she left him, he wasn't the type of man who should be anywhere near a child. But, one day when Claire is sent out for the night to enjoy herself, who does she see up on stage but her ex, Ryan, Mr. Rockstar himself. Claire, of course, runs, but Ryan does not let the only woman he's ever loved, get away. No, he goes after her, determined to at least get her to talk to him.

This second chance romance was surprisingly a tad emotional, and very sweet. It had its steamy moments, but I appreciated its emotional moments much more. Ryan had A LOT of making up to do with Claire, and he more than did his fair share of it. I love how much he had turned his life around, and seeing him bond with Maya was adorable. Claire was surprisingly willing to let Ryan back into her life, even if it was only in a physical sense at first, but I could understand. She had never gotten over him and here he was, back in her space and so contrite, and so obviously not the same man she had left all those years ago. I don't like the way she pushed him away and the excuse she used to do it, but I understand and empathize. She's a great mom, and Maya is her world, so I got where she was coming from. I just wish she hadn't used it as an excuse to push Ryan away. Thank God she, and he, have awesome friends who made Claire and Ryan see some sense, and they were able to get their long in coming HEA.

I've really enjoyed the Men of Gold Mountain series, and I really like Make Me Yours in particular. It's sexy, it's sweet, and the emotional ups and downs of this second chance romance are engaging and entertaining.

Rebecca Brooks has been on my reading wishlist for awhile now. Make Me Yours marks my first time reading her. This is the fourth book in the Men of Gold Mountain series and is easily a standalone read.

Make Me Yours is a second chance love story mixed with a secret baby storyline. I’ve been on a secret baby kick with my last couple of reads so I was excited to read this book. Unfortunately, the story and I didn’t always see eye to eye. For starters, I would have preferred to have had a prologue detailing at least some of Claire and Ryan’s backstory. Instead, I had to figure things out as I read the story. This left me confused most of the time as to why Claire said and did certain things.

Claire and Ryan’s relationship is extremely complicated. For almost half of the book, I didn’t like Claire. It took me having to be objective to see her side of things and potentially understand. In fact, I struggled with the book through about the first 100 pages or so. But it wasn’t until the climax, when I saw myself in Claire that I could say that I truly became invested in this story. I realized that I was looking at things all wrong. I started reading Make Me Yours thinking it was going to be a cookie cutter story. In fact, it’s anything but. Rebecca made this story real. There are always reasons why couples break up. Claire and Ryan didn’t break up for superficial reasons. At a young age, Claire made a good, hard, tough decision to do what was best for her, her unborn child, and ultimately Ryan. While I struggled with Make Me Yours, I loved that Rebecca didn’t make the reconnection between Ryan and Claire easy for them. She didn’t act like the painful past didn’t happen. She put them through real life trials and she made them work for the relationship that they both wanted and deserved.

I was surprised to find myself crying at a certain part of this story. It really did make reading this story worthwhile. An added benefit is that the heroines from the previous books make appearances and prove to be true friends.

It's not at all unusual for Rebecca Brooks to bring us a steamy read with the sassy characters from her Men of Gold Mountain series, but with this latest book in the series, she touches our hearts even more. Circumstances tore them apart but neither has ever forgotten or loved another the same way they did each other. He was at a destructive point in his life, she was willing to turn the other cheek for way too long ... but when a dawning brought a vision of the future to come into her mind, she finally found the courage to walk way. This story is about reconnecting with a lost love and being strong enough to prove you've changed and proud enough to stand tall about your accomplishments. I've loved the entire series, but this one just had all the feels!

Claire Collins has always been on the straight and narrow ... except for that short-lived time in her life where she fell in love with a musician and threw caution to the wind. Her life never quite recovered, but she wound up with a beautiful daughter out of it all. She might not have been strong enough to demand what she needed, but she would have moved heaven and earth to give that child what she deserved out of life!

Ryan Thomas lived his life hard, and it cost him everything he had ever dreamed of ... but he's worked hard to come back from the ruins he left his life in. Claire walking away was the low-point in his life, and he's never once stopped wishing she'd walk in again ... so when their eyes meet at the start of the last show on his come-back tour, he thinks all of his dreams have come true! Claire on the other hand isn't willing to trust that he's changed ... he was always the smooth talker and promise maker ... so what makes this time different?

Make Me Yours by Rebecca Brooks was a well written and enjoyable second chance love story.
I enjoyed the plot, it held my interest all throughout the book and I liked both Claire and Ryan.
It was entertaining watching them reconnect and fall in love, they had amazing chemistry and I loved them together.

Make Me Yours is a great addition to the Men of Gold Mountain series, each book can be read as a standalone and I highly recommend them all.

Needs proofreading and the way the book is formatted, with sentences cut off mid page only to finish on the next line, I give this book 3.5 stars.

Claire Collins is a good girl. She has responsibilities to do, a mortgage to pay for, a business to run, and a child to care for. She refuses to let anyone help her out. She stopped trusting anyone 5 years ago when her heart was crushed by her ex boyfriend.
When Claire was in college, her weakness was bad boys, she went to a bar with her friends and saw a live band. She hit it off with the lead singer, tattooed, Ryan Thomas. Claire started missing classes, not doing homework, then finally dropped out of college and moved to NY from Seattle to be with Ryan. After being together for a few years, she saw the REAL Ryan, it wasn't pretty. When Claire found out that she was pregnant, he didn't take it well, he got drunk. So she left him.

Ryan Thomas has always loved Claire. He doesn't know why she left him. Having called her parents house for months looking for her, which is where she was, only to be told they didn't know where she was; devastated him. But it was his own fault. His drinking destroyed their relationship and then his career. So the last place in the world he ever expected to see her was in a bar audience in Gold Mountain.

When he locks eyes with her from across the stage, she runs out of the bar. He shows up the next day at her massage therapy business and when she walks into the room she recognizes that tattooed back. So they start talking. When he tries to pay and he refuses, he sees a picture of her daughter on her desk. To say he's shocked is an understatement.

Can the rock star prove he can be there for the 2 girls he loves the most? Will Claire let him try?

Claire Collins loved Ryan Thomas so much, but she never expected to see him ever again, not after the way she left. She did the right thing for her unborn baby at the time, especially since she was never able to deny Ryan anything. However, as they get to know each other again, Claire has to decide whether she's ready to let Ryan back in after working so hard to move on. Will Ryan be able to convince Claire that he's changed and is ready for love, family and happiness, or will the unthinkable happen to make Claire send Ryan away?

Having just recently read the other books of this series, I couldn't wait to dive into this book, because I wanted to know so much more about Claire and why her relationship with Ryan went awry. What did he that tore them apart? And after reading this book, I've got to admit that this is the best book of the four in Ms. Brooks Men of Gold Mountain series, as Ryan does everything in his power to win back the woman he's always loved. Will Claire be able to forgive and start over since Ryan has clearly done all he could to overcome the things that drove Claire away?

As for the dialogue, it was intense due to the history between this couple, but it was also hard not to be affected by the emotions alongside the characters, as they cherish their second chance at forever after; find it within themselves to forgive the past; and earn redemption along the way. Well, Ryan does, as he realized how much he lost. Furthermore, the heroine was resilient, courageous and I liked how determined she was to take things slowly with Ryan, even though that plan didn't work out quite as well as she hoped. I also liked how good of a mother she was and that she was willing to give the hero a chance to get to know his daughter, even if they have an agreement about how much they want their daughter to know.

While the hero, he made so many mistakes when he was with Claire in the past, but he's managed to overcome so much since Claire left him, and I liked how well he's doing for himself in his professional life, considering all his rocker lifestyle once cost him. His relationship with Claire ending and his bandmates deserting him was hard, but I liked how hard he's worked to overcome his problems. I also liked how determined he was to prove to Claire that he's changed and that he would do anything to win her back, even if it meant sacrificing a career he's worked so hard for.

Overall, Ms. Brooks has penned another wonderful read for this series where the chemistry between this couple was intense; the romance fan-your-face hot because of Ryan's need for control; and the ending had me wondering whether this couple would achieve their happy ever after because of Claire's over-reaction to what she believes is Ryan being irresponsible again. Will she be able to forgive Ryan, considering what happened could have happened to anyone? However, in saying that, I loved how things worked out for this couple in the end, as Ryan will do anything to be with Claire and his daughter and I liked that Claire finally was able to be honest with her daughter about things she's been keeping from her. I would recommend Make Me Yours by Rebecca Brooks, if you enjoy second chance romances or books by authors Daire St Denis, Cathryn Fox, Samanthe Beck and Amy Andrews.

This is the forth book in this series by this series. This is a emotional roller coaster of a story. This is a second chance romance which will have you laughing, smiling and crying as you read. This author has a fab way of bringing the characters out in the story. The characters were fantastic and really well written. I just couldn't put them down till I'd finished the book. I can't wait for more in this series and by this author in the future.
Highly recommended

Since I had read one other book by this author and enjoyed when I came across this one I thought why not. A gold nugget for this one is it happens to be second chance one at that. These men in this series will make you salivate. Ryan is one that will have the most work to do but oh the good part is seeing Olivia and Ryan go at it again. He also will have a hard time of it since she is not alone. Patter of my heart you get to see if things will go ok this time around with where will this go this time. Best reason of all is right in front of them also. Swept me along with them and carried me right to the end.

Claire has always loved sexy bad boy Ryan, who was an up and coming musician and alcoholic. When she discovered she was pregnant Ryan was to drunk to comprehend what she was telling him, so Claire made a heartbreaking decision and left him. Now 5 years later they meet again, and the chemistry is as off the charts as it always was. Ryan is now a recovering alcoholic who is working extremely hard in order to stay sober and rebuild his life. He is determined to prove to Claire and his daughter that he is a changed person, but will Claire be able to let Ryan in? No spoilers; this is a definite must read for all second chance romance lovers, you will certainly not be disappointed!
This is a beautifully written and poignant story, which is emotional and heartbreaking. I was totally hooked from the very beginning, and in my opinion this extremely talented author just keeps getting better and better.

Make Me Yours, is the fourth book from Rebecca Brooks's Men of Gold Mountain series. It is a nice story, with a few emotional elements and some very sexy times. The characters are interesting and likable, but the plot lacks depth. This book can be read as a standalone.
