A sensual ride into the depth of Texas where love meets the seductive heat of the Western Sun.... this was a perfect book for a lonely night. It is full of sweet romance and a hero to tame the wildest heart. I loved it!

In this tale set in the 1840s, the author brings the reader Serena's story, sister to Olivia in book 2, and Trevor, a Texas ranger during the task of bringing peace with the Comanche. This is book 3 in the Texas Legacy series and continues with the Torres family and action with the hero and Heroine. Be prepared to have comfortable seat since you won't want to put this one down.

Ebook from Net galley and publishers with thanks. Opinions are entirely my own.

Historical romance book with a touch of early Texas history thrown in. This story is about independent, feisty Serena and single-minded Texas Ranger Trevor. The road to love and happiness is never easy but for these two the road is full of ruts, troubles, and land mines. The book keeps the reader on tinder hooks as the characters are confronted by their troubles.

I like how the author is taking the reader through a timeline of Texas history in this series. The reader is not stuck in one conflict or period I also like how the author is more neutral in this conflict giving the reader more than on viewpoint. In Texas Heat by Holly Castillo, book three of her historical series, Texas has won independence but now has a whole new set of problems.

The romance is a build up between the straight and narrow lawman, Trevor, and the impulsive trouble finder, Serena. They have an attraction that is difficult to ignore just as their differences in perspectives is difficult to ignore. This makes for an exciting historical romance.

While it is book three, a reader can jump into this series on any book. This one would make a great introduction to the dangerous, and colorful period.

An ARC of the book was given to me by the publisher through Net Galley.
