Pussy Riot rose to fame as a punk rock feminist protest group in Russia who rose to international fame when they were arrested for hooliganism after a public performance. After reading Words Will Break Cement, I was curious to see what had happened to these women when they were behind bars. With this in mind I requested this book.

I was captivated by Alyokhina's tale, if a bit put off by the writing style. As this is an ARC, I hope it has one more revision to go before it gets published, nonetheless, it is an interesting read.

The writing is a bit disjointed but I think that is part of its charm. I would recommend this for fans of Pussy Riot (obviously), people interested in political protest or Russian current events, and people who are interested in prison reform.
