When I was in high school, during a study-break period, I often used a ballpoint pen to fill endless pages of my notebook with circles of many sizes. I wish I'd thought to doodle cats! Masuda's adorable book shows simple ways to draw a cat face, different expressions, feline bodies, and then move to different shaped and colored cats. The layout inspires you to continue doodling and fill the pages with cats of every shape, size, and color. It's an adorable book that is sure to delight doodlers and cat lovers alike.
Super cute! I shared it with my kids and they enjoyed it very much. Thank you for the chance to look at the book.
I was given an ARC through NetGalley to review this doodle book featuring cats and the eBook does not do this book justice. I purchased this for my daughters birthday because she loves to draw and she loves cats. The drawings in the book are not so detailed that a young child won't be able to do them, which I love. The focus is on color and simplicity- even someone who is bad at drawing can probably draw the cats in this book.
With so many books similar to it in production, Catdoodles stands out magnificently well with its beautiful colorful cover. No two pictures in the book are alike- although they all contain cats- and each scene is demonstrated by the author the technique to be used and plenty of space for the artist to replicate the drawing or use one's own imagination.
A very thoughtful, beautiful book!
This was a wonderfully adorable doodling book! While the artwork is a little too simple it's wonderful for freestyle doodling and destressing. I really liked it. 3.5 Stars
Masuda's Catdoodles is a must have for any cat-lover. This cute art book will teach even the least artistically inclined to make adorable little kitties that can be sketched while waiting on the phone, ignoring classes, or any other time the mood strikes!.
Catdoodles is a slender volume that can be taken most anywhere. The beginning gives ideas about how to draw and pattern cats. The remaining pages have scenes already started, and invite you to doodle the remainder in. These scenes range from simple to complex, and are in both colour and black & white.
I know doodling is supposed to be relaxing. I guess I find it to be so sometime, but even then, my picky nature demands greater perfection. I fair cringed at the pre-done doodles for lacking a certain measure of sophistication. Since this was an eARC, we couldn't really use the pages, but my cubs did enjoy picking up on the doodle styles and putting them all over.
If you have any cat-loving casual doodlers in your life, this little artbook would make a great gift.
***Dos mere to Quarto Publishing/ Netgalley for providing a free copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review!
Catdoodles by Akiko Masuda is a wonderful doodle book of cats. It teaches several types of cats that the reader is able to learn how to draw/doodle. Each page is full of colorful cats which all vary showing the versatility on how to create your own types of cats.
The book is suitable for any age and any capability of drawing talent from young children to adults, these cats are all simple doodles and we can all manage a cat doodle with this book if you're unsure how to. It has simple instructions for drawing cats and lots of space to practice drawing them.
I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys drawing and cats.
I received this book from Quarto Publishing Group and Quarry Books via NetGalley.
Do you love cats?
Do you enjoy doodling?
Then this book is for you!
It's a cute book but it's pretty useless as an ebook!
The main thing about Catdoodles is that you have fun doodling cute kitties on the pages, or coloring the ones that are already printed. But you can't do this on an ebook so, the only thing you can do is stare into the pages.
It has simple instructions for drawing cats and lots of space to practice drawing them. This isn't something I would send money on.
I have a passion for doodling but this was not my cup of tea. The art was way to simplistic to boost my inspiration.
This book is delightful! My only regret is that it was an ebook galley, so I couldn't start drawing cats as I went through the book. The whimsy and color in this book are very cheering!
wonderful book on doodles of cat with colourful illustrations..........
I can’t draw - at all - but I like to doodle. As I can’t draw this is normally spirals or geometrical shapes. This book has shown me how easy it is to make cute little cats (even I managed to make these look like cats) and how easy it is to get variation with a couple of colours and patterns. I also suspect this can easily be transferred into other animals or objects. I’ll have a go! And my doodles will certainly improve from now. Fun and cute book.
Thank you to Net Galley and the publisher of Catdoodles for the opportunity To read for review.
Firstly, I am just loving this trend of doodle books. I think they are a lot of fun. Just for something to pass the time, something for children, for planner addicts or anyone who thinks they can't draw.
This is for exactly what the title says it's for, cat lovers! It has simple instructions and the doodles themselves are are very cute. It also gives you ideas for how to change them up and have fun.
I would have given the last star if there had just been a little more more to the book like cat accessories. Beds, toys, and things.
Really cute doodle book. The first part of the book teaches you how to draw doodle cats. The rest of the books are partially filled pages with cat doodles leaving you plenty of room to fill the rest in with your own doodles or even color in their doodles.
This is a fun activity book and would make a great present for cat lovers or people who enjoy adult colouring books.
Quarry Books and NetGalley provided me with an electronic copy of Catdoodles: The Cat Lovers Drawing Book. I was under no obligation to review this book and my opinion is freely given.
In the style of the cat collecting simulation game Neko Atsume, Catdoodles gives readers all the instructions that they need to doodle their own. With many pages devoted to writing implements and paper selection, this basic drawing book is directed at readers regardless of their age and skill level. Although some adults may feel that the doodling is childish and somewhat pointless, many readers will find the book relaxing. The whole idea of Catdoodles is to find a stress free way of clearing your mind, which this book definitely does. The author basically gives readers permission to take their cat doodles as far as they wish, with creativity and imagination stressed over all.
Catdoodles is a little too repetitive of a drawing book, as there are only so many pages of the same image that you can draw before becoming totally bored. As a concept, it is a good idea, but the execution is where the book lacks.
Fun for any cat lover! Fill the book until your heart's content with cats!
Very cute book and easy to follow but the doodles was too simple, not interesting enough for me to draw it.
I received Catdoodles by Akiko Masuda from Netgalley in exchange of an honest review.
Coloring stress me out and my drawing skills are on par with a two-year old. But I want to draw and color. Also, I'm a total cat lady. Catdoodles is the book I've been needing. A tiny bit of instruction is all that's needed to show anyone how to start making their own cats and there are plenty in the book to color in and decorate. The prompts are already started so you can jump in without having to plan but there's plenty of room for creativity.
