Reindeer is tired and wants to go to bed. The first thing he needs to do is find his bed. This life-the-flap book for toddlers aged 2 years and up is adorable. Everytime reindeer tries a bed, he is wrong. When you lift the flap you will see whose bed it really is. Along the way there are many animals introduced to the reader, some the children may not be familiar with. The illustrations are large and colourful and the text is clear and easy to read. Of course, he eventually finds his bed. What a great bedtime story for little ones. I can see them trying to guess whose bed reindeer is in. A wonderful addition to the family library.
The author has created a lift-the-flap book that toddlers will adore. Reindeer has come to the end of his day and desperately wants to curl up and get some well deserved sleep. He tries to lay claim to many of his friends beds but he is always moved along because those beds don't belong to him.
He tries the mole and mole bunk beds but no they are not his. He continues his search viewing different beds such as hammocks hung side by side where two adorable little mice are snoring away, a cozy fancy bed that he finds out belongs to fox, and a racecar bed where rabbit parks himself for the night, just to name a few. Oh my... will he ever find a bed for himself to sleep in?
Finally his friend owl, who is nocturnal, finds the perfect solution to the problem. Can you guess what that might be? After taking owl's advice, reindeer snuggles in his warmed up bed just as Mr. Sandman lures him away into Dreamland.
This fun book introduces toddlers to different animal's names and reassures them that their very own bed is the best. The illustrations are colourful, sweet and expressive. This book is a perfect bedtime read... shared of course cuddling together under the covers of your child's very own favourite bed.
I received this book as an ARC reader for Netgalley for an honest review. I requested to review this book as a bedtime story for my daughter. I enjoyed the idea of the reindeer trying to find his bed, but story was kinda of uninteresting and was not the greatest bedtime story I have read. I just felt I had missed something or that something was missing.
*thank you to NetGalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review*
2 stars.
I didnt enjoy this as much as I thought I would. There was no real story although the illustrations are nicely colourful. I feel as though I'd missed something in this book.
Cute. Colorfully and delightfully-illustrated. Reindeer can't seem to find his bed in a house filled with animal friends (a bear, moles mice, rabbit, etc.) who sleep in smaller beds, a bunk bed, a hammock and more--that is until he finds Owl, who sleeps during the day so Reindeer can sleep in the bed at night. We have an inkling that toddlers will want to hear this one as a nightly bedtime story.
A bright colourful picture book with lots of different animals to read about.
A life-the-flap book for toddlers aged 2 years and up, I loved the large, clear font and bold illustrations. Reindeer is on the hunt for his bed, and tries every bed he sees. until he eventually finds the one that fits. On the way, the reader is introduced to various different animals and names. This is a great fun book for bedtime which I'm sure toddlers will love.
I think the illustrations in this book are absolutely darling! Unfortunately in this e book the words appear on the wrong pages, probably because this is a flap book and I am seeing words that might be underneath the flaps???? I think the story is cute for a toddler and so I will give it a 4 star rating here but I don't feel right in reviewing it on other websites without seeing it in it's proper format with the flaps. I will look for it in a bookstore when it comes out and will publish a review when I can see it in it's entirety.
Thank you for the opportunity to review this sweet little book!
This book is a twist on the traditional goldilocks story when she is trying out the beds, in this case with the Reindeer trying to find his bed with several unsuccessful attempts. Nice images and a good undertone to try and convince toddlers that their own bed is best - had a nice ending! 4 stars from me, can see this one being a favourite!
I love this book! The images of the reindeer and his friends are colorful, sweet and endearing. The story works as a sort of twist on the Goldilocks tale. Even though the reindeer tries to claim several of his friends's beds as his own, in the end he realizes his bed is best. Have a child that won't sleep in their own bed? This may be the book that helps! This is a title well worth adding to the home book collection.
