I lobe books that try to simplify life for kids, try to explain them complex concepts.
I can only imagine how hard parenting is, so having such books to ease some conversations can be delightful indeed!

A cute story about going to the dentist and what to expect. Colorful illustrations.

I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

A simple look at a visit to the dentist. At the end is included a pie graph. This graph illustrates thats that are good for a toddler’s teeth, lunch as healthy eating, and brushing.

This sweet book is a perfect read to share with a little one who is experiencing his first visit to the dentist. The whole vibe of the book oozes happiness and the brightly coloured illustrations are kid-friendly and cheerful.

The book explains in clear terms the process of the visit lessening anxiety and worry. It highlights the tools the dentist will uses, getting an X-ray, and the conversation the dentist will have regarding regular tooth-brushing and eating the correct foods to keep teeth healthy and well maintained.

"Dentists and What They Do" is a great time to highlight the role of professionals in your child's life ( doctors, nurses, therapists etc.) that your child may encounter in their life's journey and defuse any apprehension or nervousness they may experience having to visit them.

I love the book and would highly recommend it for a home collection. I feel a copy would be very beneficial in a primary classroom or the school library. Well done!

I received this arc from Netgalley for an honest review. This is the perfect book for little ones who may be scared or unsure of what happens at the dentist. Not too much information and bright and fun illustrations make this the perfect pre-dentist read.

Lovely simple but fun illustrations and a good informative text that looks at the work of a dentist and how to look after our own teeth in a clear, simple, non scary way, using very child friendly language. Recommended.

This book is cute, and I will probably order it for my store, as I don't have any books like it. The language is cute. It's definitely something that a parent/guardian would read to a child in preparation of a first trip to the dentist. I enjoyed how the author depicted the step-by-step sights and experiences of a dental visit and reinforced good dental habits. But I also found that there are parts which could have been explained better. For example, the probe. I thought it should be described based on what it is rather than just called a probe. At the same time, I thought explaining that the dentist would be wearing a mask could alleviate fears. The book is cute, and I like the artwork.

This early look at dentists and what they do is made fun with Liesbet Slegers' childlike illustration and bright colors. She uses simple sentences and little side notations to tell readers what's going on - we see big teeth and little teeth, a description of what the dentist wears and why she cleans teeth, and we even get a look at the tools the dentist uses - those things can look really intimidating when you first sit down in that chair; a book like this could go a long way in letting kids know what to expect before walking into the office for the first time. Kids get some dental tips on tooth care, and a heads-up that a dental visit usually comes with a goody bag. The goody bag usually contains a new toothbrush and toothpaste, but still, a goody bag. This is a nice addition to toddler bookshelves, especially community helper collections.

This cute book would be great to read to your child who is going to the dentist for the first time. It takes the reader through the process of getting to the office, the tools used, what the dentist does with them, getting x-rays and discussing what to eat and do to keep your teeth healthy. This would help alleviate any anxiety a child may have about the dentist. It also reinforces the importance of brushing your teeth. The illustrations are bright and cheerful and make the dentist's office seem more approachable and less frightening. This is a great book to add to the public and family library.

I wanted to read this book because I have a friend writing a children's book on a similar topic. I was relieved to see that this one was quite different from my friend's, but also still really good!

Sleep Well Teeth...

What an awesome way to talk about teeth, this book was interesting, informative and talks about how caring for your teeth is important that even a toddler would understand. This book is particularly useful for a child who is either scared of the dentist or going there for the first time.

The book is positive and shows a smiling children, which will help put your children at ease and show them that there is no need to be scared. The child joking around about how the mask looks funny is also shows that you do not need to be anxious when trying out something new like the dentist. I like how the book not only talks about looking after your teeth but also how to care for them by eating the right foods.

The book is descriptive, easy to read and the illustrations beautiful. Bright colours, happy teeth, a comforting bear and a mummy hug make for a truly interesting book for young children.

Engaging, colorful, simply-illustrated (with child-like pictures) book about proper dental care for toddlers. Will ease possible fears about going to the dentist and encourage little ones to brush well and eat healthy. Five stars for a job well done.

This enjoyable book helps reinforce the importance of brushing. It also offers the opportunity to talk with children about medical professionals (doctors, dentists, therapists, etc) and how they help people. The illustrations are bright and cheerful and make the dentist's office seem more approachable and less frightening. This is a great title to add to the public library and home collection.

This book would be ideal to get for any child in advance of their first dentists appointment. It goes through what its like when you get to the surgery and when you see the dentist to make it less scary - and let's face it, who really loves going to the dentists!! Definitely a book I'd get for my daughter ready for her first visit - great images, well laid out and a fun (even though it is the dentists) - 5 stars
