I have enjoyed the Irene Huss character. With this investigation into the gang warfare in Goteborg she once again rises to the occasion. If you like Scandinavian noir this is on the more procedural end of the scale with characters who are not all dark.
Not the best book by this author. Too much rambling and not enough plot development. Felt like it was written in a big hurry.
I enjoy my Swedish mysteries and even though this is not one of Helene Tursten’s better ones, it won’t keep me from reading more of her novels.
Recommended but publication is not until November 2017.
I truly liked this story by Helene Torsten because it was filled with so much data and examples of characters that it was like several storys rolled into one big one. Irene Huss's family of Krister, Jenny, Katarine, and their dachshund Egon were in peril as they had bought their dream restaurant Glady's from the previous owner. They didn't know that they also were responsible for his previous debt to a biker group as the previous owner was killed before he could pay the debt. Helene goes into detail of several murders and the ramifications later with the biker groups with a mole in the police letting them know what happening and where. Once the mole is discovered things start happening to solve many of the current events.
It comes down to a meeting of the biker groups, with the police set up to nab them, when an explosion rips the building that they were in apart. Irene was watching this from a truck when she saw a boy on a bike and went into action. I think Helen's story was fantastic and will tell a lot of people to read it for themselves.
