3 out of 5 stars! Will Marian & Omar be able to move on from their misgivings to negotiate a good deal or will everything fall apart, just as they try to get their bliss?
While I liked this novel's pace, premise, and plot, I had a hard time truly enjoying Marian and Omar as characters. At times, Marian seemed too brash to be enjoyable and Omar played to the "beta hero" role so much that I felt it was hard to like him as a male lead. Though I will admit they made a very good duo. And Marian had just enough forthrightness to get Omar out of his widower self-seclusion.
This was the first novel I've read within this series. And though I did not feel lost, I recommend it to those who are fans of Ms. North's more than anyone else. Yet, as it is a standalone novel, it is also for those who are wanting a steamy contemporary romance.

Marian is on a mission to prove her worth as more than an office assistant. When she is offered the opportunity to travel out of the county to be the smoothing factor in negotiations for the CTO (Chief Technology Officer) who is rude and insulting to everyone she jumps at the offer. She travels to Parsabad to meet with Sheikh Omar her contact in Parsabad, he will assist with the proposal to National Oil. This was a great read. Omar was intrigued by Marian but was still mourning the death of his wife to cancer. Marian and Omar had amazing chemistry and were likable characters. I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it.
Passionate with lots of steamy scenes, “The Sheikh's Unruly Lover” is not for the faint of heart. The hero is deliciously handsome, and the heroine is sassy with a take-no-prisoner attitude. There are also enough tender moments to make you say, “uhh” and wish that Marian and Omar should get their acts together soon so that we can get to the good parts.
The Sheikh's Unruly Lover is Rated M for Mature due to sexual content.
Book 2 in the Almasi sheikhs series. Marian is sent overseas to work with Sheikh Omar Almasi. His past must be healed to open up their future. Good addition to this series.
Ebook from netgalley and publishers with thanks. opinions are entirely my own.
A fun romance with a corporate twist. The villain at the start of the story seemed a bit comical, but otherwise, the story was a decent read.
They were only supposed to be colleagues. But, that didn’t last long when a single look from Marian changed how Omar felt. Finally starting a new life after his wife’s death he felt free to fall in love again. No longer living in the past he embraced everything he shared with Marian. She completed the part of him he lost. The missing part of him finally returned.
Fast paced, emotionally thrilling, intriguing romantic journey of healing and growth. Highly entertaining even though it is short enough to devour in a few hours.
Marian a sexy, sassy, head strong American executive assistant is sent by her company overseas to help finalize a merger. She is more than ready to prove why she should be taken seriously when she is asked to step into her bosses shoes and work closely with Sheikh Omar Almasi. He is strong willed and driven, and was opposed to this merger, business is his life since losing his wife to cancer. Roller-coaster of emotional ups and downs in this engaging story.
This book is absolutely sizzling with passion. The plot revolves around an ambitious American executive Marian and devastatingly good looking Sheikh Omar. As is always there in all of Leslie North's novels, the lust, the longing between the characters and the ego clashes are there in full glory. I could feel the attraction between the two characters from their first meet. The novel revolves around a company merger, towards which both the characters are working passionately. However, en route the merger some misunderstanding develops between the two and you have to read the novel to know the rest. As a fan of Leslie North and as a reader of all of her previous titles, I observed that this book lacks the depth of characters and relationship as compared to her previous novels. Yes, sex was there but something was missing. In the end everything seems very easily achievable. Regardless of the above observation I did enjoy the book.
Overall, this book is a good read and I recommend it to all the romance lovers. But I will also suggest this book only to the adult readers as there are a lot of pages in it that describe sexual content graphically. Now, Go forth and enjoy it!
A big thank you to NetGalley for the ARC. I have voluntarily reviewed this book. First time reading this author. This the second book in a trilogy. It reads as a stand alone with everything resolved. I liked the main character Marian. She appears strong and capable. Omar is a confused conflicted man. I was surprised at the language and the quick sex but overall I enjoyed the book. I give it a 3.5. It was a fast read.
Familiar and great storyline to daydream to during stessful times.
This was a good story. The characters weren't fantastic and they didn't grab me and bring me into the story, but the overall book was okay.
A good girlie read with a gorgeous sheikh who is every woman's dream.
Just got lost in the romance and dreamed.
I might recommend this book to my friends. But, certainly not my students. Not a suitable book for them.
I enjoyed this book, and liked the author's style of writing; however, I didn't feel it offered anything especially unique in the way of a storyline. I do enjoy books of this genre and would definitely read more books written by this author. (I was given a complimentary copy of this book for my honest review.)
This book was good. Marian was working for a company that sent her to another country to help Mr Thomas negotiate a deal with a technology company. However, Mr Thomas was nasty and insulted the other men and their women. He called it a joke, but negotiations were stopped. Mr Thomas was fired and Marian took over, working with Omar (a representative of the company). Omar's wife had died and he did not want to get involved again. So, of course, they developed feelings for each other.
Marian showed Omar that he could feel again and he fought it all the way. They had great chemistry and the story kept me quite involved. I couldn't put it down.
I got this book from NetGalley for an honest review
Marian was Mr. Thomas’s Executive Assistant. Mr. Thomas had been more of a mess since the merger with Almasi Holdings in Parsabad and his daughter’s marriage to a sheikh and the son of the CEO. Annabelle is Mr. Thomas’s only daughter and Marians best friend although they were more like sisters. Mr. thomas had a proposition for Marian, Marian didn’t like anything that might change her job as she was perfectly comfortable with it. Then Mr. Thomas said Almasi Holdings and Mr Thomas needed her in Parsabad. That their Chief Technology Officer needs an assistant in his upcoming trip. Nobody else could do it but her. Then Mr. Thomas said Marian would be able to see Annabelle also. Marian said change made her nervous. But Marian did agree to go. Mr. Thomas needed Marian to help Kelly finalize a deal with an technology company- Parsabad National Oil. Marian detested Kelley within the first three minutes of their trip. Not only did he look down his nose at her, he only listened to her when she called him “Sir” or spoke with urgency. Otherwise he barely acknowledge Marain. Marian met Omar who was to be their technology deal facilitator and unofficial tour guide per Omar. Kelly was being every bit as brisk and rude as Mr. Thomas felt he would be. Omar had been in an arranged marriage but he and his wife found love as it wasn’t very long after the wedding Anahita got cancer and shortly after that she died it had been two years since. . Omar kept comparing Marian to Anahita- in a good way. At the meeting the next day Kelly made a crase statement and called it a joke but the Parmesan men refused to go any further until they received an apology. Marian said she would apologize and carry on with the talks and she could do a better job then Kelley. Then Mr. Thomas fired Kelley. When Marian came downstairs to go to dinner Omar was there and they went together. Something felt natural to Marian about Omar like they were reconstructing a long lost friendship. Omar was attracted to Marian but he felt like he was being untrue to his dead wife and felt guilty. They next day Omar and Marian went out for drinks after work and ended up in Marian’s room and had some explosive sex. The following day they went up in a hot air balloon with Omar piloting it. The next day they went sightseeing but that night Omar went home and left Marian alone. To Marian it felt like she was in a months long relationship, breakup and it hadn’t even been a week. But it did feel like a breakup to Marian.
Excellent short story. The romance was a bit rushed but a lot was put in this short story. I really enjoyed this and loved the plot. I loved Annabelle's and Marian’s relationship. I loved how Omar wasn’t old fashioned and welcomed Marian’s help. I loved the ending and how Omar was so determined to make things right. I loved Omar and Marian together. A great romance. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I highly recommend.
This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.
I had a hard time liking Omar in this story. He kept going hot and cold, he would invite Marian out, have sex, then push her away when he started to feel guilty that he was betraying his dead wife. There were times that I wanted Marian to push him away but she was so attracted to him that she put up with that for a while.
I felt so bad for Marian when she kept hoping for Omar to stop her from leaving at the airport and then felt so disappointed. Omar’s grand gesture at the restaurant was so cute with the butterflies! Their reunion was great but too quick, I would have loved more!
Nice quick read, like the characters, the only complaint I have is the story ends abruptly, I love my epilogues, it doesn't have to be a big one just a quick one would do.
