Emily and Carter sure know how to heat up the dance floor. The undeniable lust and chemistry between these two is smoking. Who wouldn't want a super sexy hot bodyguard around all the time protecting you?

Emily is enjoying him but wishes that she didn't need the protection. She wishes that she could go back to way it was. Before the cameras and bodyguard. These two help each other and realize they can have more.

Emily is choreographer to her best friend and superstar, Darlene. Carter Kincaid is Darlene's newest bodyguard. When things with Emily's stalker escalate, Carter is assigned to her and the attraction between them cannot be denied, consequences be damned.

I loved Emily. Loved her. She'd gone through so much and continued to do so with strength and confidence. I felt for her, truly I did. I think her past would have broken so many people yet she was resilient and forthcoming, unwilling to hide. Carter was wonderful as our hero. Stoic, strong, dedicated. Adored him, not in spite of his secrets, but because of them and his handling of them. Huge heart, carries a gun, sexy AF. What more could one want?

Ummm...I love CD REISS but I'm not so sure she wrote this book. It's so unlike her. Terrible. Could not finish it. It was the most stupid book I've read from her. Im saddened about this. Truly disappointed. I've given it two stars. One for the author because I still love her and one for the cover

Interesting, captivating, romantic and even heartwarming.

Emily is an amazing choreographer to her best friend who is a super star. Every hot pop star needs a bodyguard but throw in Emily's crazy ex-boyfriend and even the choreographer needs one as well. Enter Carter Kincaid- hot, sexy and all business...when he tries. Emily and Carter develop and yoyo relationship. One moment he is pulling her close and then he is pushing her away. Carter has secrets and while trying to be professional and not get involved with his charge he also doesn't want anyone close enough to learn those secrets or bring them harm.

Carter witnesses the absolute bezerk-ness of Emily's ex and swoops in to protect and comfort her. Again pulling her close so once again he has to figure out how to push her away. Emily is stubborn and when that drive leads her at the doorstep of Carter's secret Carter must make a decision to either trust Emily or finally push her away altogether.

While Emily and Carter were great together and I thoroughly loved not only their chemistry but their playfulness and his ability to understand her while she starts to crack his tough exterior. But there is a little nugget that was truly awesome and his name was Phin. Phin brings a vulnerability to Carter that he doesn't allow just anyone to see. He is protective, loyal and loving and not ready to share that with just anyone.

The storyline was very interesting and captivating the entire read. I have said Emily was stubborn but she was also strong and tough and powerful. She and Carter were great struggling together but even better when they gave into the fight.

Bodyguard (Hollywood A-List Book 2) by CD Reiss

I haven't read many books by Reiss book and to be honest, the ones I have read, I didn't really feel anything more than mere like. That was until I absolutely devoured the two books in her Hollywood A-List series - Bombshell and Bodyguard. Both were fantastic and Bodyguard was just perfect. While I'm calling this a series, you can absolutely read the books independent of each other.

Emily is choreographer to her best friend and superstar, Darlene. Carter Kincaid (I'm sorry, but can his name be any sexier? No. No, it can't) is Darlene's newest (and yeah, sexiest) bodyguard.

What more could one want?!

I absolutely loved their first meeting and it only went up from there. I smiled, I cried, I swooned. I wished that I was graphically inclined because there was one particular scene that deserves to be on teasers everywhere! Bodyguard is officially my favorite CD Reiss book and I won't hesitate to recommend it.

I think it was too complicated. The characters had too much backstory, and I couldn't really enjoy the plot. There was a lot of telling, not showing. I don't think I would read another book by this author.

Bodyguard is actually the first novel I have read in this series but I had no problems as this can be read as a stand alone. I was really impressed with how the story evolved. The author does a good job of keeping you interested throughout the entire book. I loved the lead characters but I would have liked a little more development with the side characters. I enjoyed the suspense and yet the author still maintained humour, which is important to me. I enjoyed reading this and look forward to more from CD Reiss.

Bodyguard is the second book in CD Reiss’s Hollywood A List Series. These books are complete standalone novels and don’t have to be read in any order.

This book has to be my favorite so far. As much as I enjoyed Bombshell (Book 1) Bodyguard just sucked me in and didn’t let go. This book was the perfect mix of romance, suspense, drama, steam. Nothing overpowered the story so it was an easy read that will sweep you away.

This book is fairly predictable, but there was enough suspense and questions raised throughout the story to keep my attention and had me turning the pages as fast as I could. It is told in Dual POV and is a complete story with NO cliffhanger. I have to say that I am really liking this side of this authors writing. These books are so different from her other work…I say this is the easier side of her writing. The stories are entertaining but won’t take anyone out of their comfort zone.

What I have loved the most from this series of books, is that she has given us interesting and relatable characters. And the storylines are also something people can connect with. Especially this one, you’ll understand more as secrets are revealed in this story as to why I think many will connect with this story. I felt the pace and flow of this story was perfect. Nothing was rushed and it wasn’t lacking for anything. This is the type of book that is perfect for that afternoon escape!!!

In the Bodyguard we are introduced to Emily and Carter. Emily is a professional choreographer for her life long friend Darlene. Emily used to be like Darlene until an injury put her on the sidelines. What Emily wasn’t expecting was to have a stalker who wouldn’t take NO for an answer. Said stalker being an ex boyfriend. In comes Carter….Carter is a bodyguard who normally tails Darlene, but when things start happening to Emily, Darlene puts Carter in charge of covering her friend. Which in turn causes a conflict of interest since Carter is attracted to Emily and doesn’t feel he can do the job to his ability. Will Emily and Carter cross that line?? How will Carter handle being her bodyguard?? What happens when Emily learns all of Carters secrets?? Find out all of these answers and so much more by reading this book.

I would recommend this book to everyone. I think it has a little bit of everything so many will enjoy this book. I truly hope she continues to write books in this series.

I recently was able to read the first book in this series and loved it, this book was just as fantastic. I wish I could give it more than the five stars that it is given. From the first page until the very end it kept me enthralled, I could not wait to find out what happened but when it was finished I wanted to read more. I love the connection between Carter and Emily, both have reasons to stay away from a relationship but both wanting each other. What happens when the past interferes and secrets come to light that could effect every thing? Is it going to be worth fighting for or should they just move on? Thank you NetGalley and CD Reiss for allowing me to read this ARC and write a honest review.

5 hot stars!

This book was excellent, the story flowed so well right from the beginning, I didn’t want to put it down. Some twists and turns you might not see coming, enough suspense to keep you on the edge of your seat but not too much it felt over the top. Overall just a great blend of romance, suspense and drama.

Really enjoyed this book. Loved Carter but Emily was a bit of a snot. If I was Carter I would have cut her lose after she followed him home. Regardless, I couldn't put the book down.

This is my third C.D. Reiss book and after a DNF and a 3 *** (Bombshell) I took another chance and actually liked this one!

Emily is choreographer for her best friend's tour and bumps into Carter, security. Both very much attracted to each other they are not really happy Carter is put on 'Emily-duty' after her ex-boyfriend the stalker shows up again. Soon they give in to their chemistry, but Carter has some secrets regarding his son he has to deal with. Plus Emily still has the stalker.

I really liked the structure of the story with alternating POV's of Emily and Carter plus I actually liked both the H/h. I could understand why Carter wanted to protect his son. The suspense was hardly there and quite predictable but the story as a whole concluded nicely. I closed the book with a satisfied feeling.

This book was a nice surprise. Based on the blurb, I was expecting a fun, light read about a Hollywood romance and would have have been happy with just that. While the plot was exactly what I expected and the supporting characters, the best friend, the villain, the gay sidekick, were a bit 'cardboard cut-out', Emily, Carter and Phin were so much more. Emily was a strong heroine who hadn't always been that way, but learned from her mistakes. She had insecurities, but fought through them. She fell in love, but not stupidly so. Carter is a bodyguard that is far from the stereotypical tough guy. I enjoyed his relationship with Emily and how it developed, but I absolutely loved Carter's relationship with his son, Phin. I found all three to be very relatable and refreshing.

I really enjoyed Bombshell, the first novel in CD Reiss’s Hollywood A-List series, so I was thrilled when I got my hands on Bodyguard!!! This fast paced, suspenseful read is a standalone and is the perfect book to get completely lost in! I immediately loved the main characters, Carter and Emily and I thought their storyline had the right mix of sweet, spice and swoon! I also felt the supporting characters were great and added so much to the novel! I have to say there is a couple of well timed twists and turns I didn’t see coming—loved that! Bodyguard was a 4 star read that had me staying up well past my bedtime because it was that addictive!!! If you are in the mood for a romance novel with suspense, than I recommend you check out this gem!

Love the story and writing. It's a great book. CD Reiss is an amazing author. Loved reading every second. Can I have a hot bodyguard please. Must read.

I received this book free from Netgalley in exchange for my unbiased review.
I have read a few of CD Reiss's books before. I loved Bombshell. I really like Shuttergirl. This one fell in between.
I read it in one evening--granted I didn't get much sleep, as I wanted to finish it and couldn't put it down.
The characters were likable. I really liked the character of Phin. It definitely wasn't a surprising book. I fully expected the mystery of who Phin's mother was, but it was still a fun read.
I am definitely looking forward to reading her next book.

Cute romance but not as edgy as I expected from Reiss. Surely the girl-with-stalker-boyfriend story has been done to death by now, and I expected something with a bit more sass. Carter Kincaid is that old-fashioned sexy-but-homely type who's good to his mum and kids! Chemistry a bit lacking in the sex scenes which are samey - a feel-good romance.
