Suzanne... did an amazing job with this one. I stayed up all night to read it. Great Job! I like the fact that I could put myself into the main female's shoes. I loved how strong and independent the character is. she's touch as well as sweet..
Gwen Miller may be a human, but she has no problem taking a stand against her own kind. She’s going to testify against the teenage boy she saw viciously assault a lone shifter female—and no amount of pressure from the boy’s wealthy family will make her back down. But when the harassment turns violent, help comes in the form of a lean, toned wolf with winter-gray eyes.
I love both Wright's Phoenix Pack and Mercury Pack books and its always fun to get a new one. They are a bit like chips or candy--gone too fast because you gobbled them up and now you want another. In this one Zander and Bracken stay at a B&B in Oregon so Zander can attend the reading of his uncle's will when he meets Gwen, the B&B owner, a human, who is standing up and planning to testify about a crime against a young female shifter than she witnessed. Zander wants to keep her safe and although both want to deny their attraction, they are quickly involved. There's the usual threat against the pack and those they protect--both from the humans supporting the human that attacked the shifter, as well as from Zander's past. Gwen is another strong female character that you can't help but love. We also get to catch up with favorite characters. Waiting for the next one.
Another great book by Suzanne wright!
I love reading about the mercurry pack. Gwen was such a character she was determined, loyal and strong a great female lead. Zander was swoon worthy brooding and just about ever fantasy a girl could dream of! Together they make a kickass team.
I loved all the paranormal aspects to the book, especially the haunted b & b and of course the romance this book has is of the charts hot! A perfect 5 star read I can’t wait to read the next book in the series!
I gave review on Amazon Kindle I'll leave review here as well. I absolutely love every single book she has put out. Hands down favorite series.
I have read all of Suzanne Wrights books and have loved every single one. I have thoroughly enjoyed immersing myself in this world and find myself getting behind all the characters. I wish I could find a man half amazing as the men in this series.
I freaking love Suzanne Wright's books, but I just can't love them all. LURE OF OBLIVION was still a good read, but I didn't love it. First of all, I didn't really who the hell Zander was, didn't make an impression on me in any of the previous books. The book took place away from the Mercury Pack, so we didn't get a lot of that fun banter between the mercury pack too much. Also, the heroine, Gwen, was human, which makes for something different than your usual Suzanne Wright's books.
Zander was really kinda boring to me, he didn't have much of a personality. He reminded me a bit of Ryan from the Phoenix Pack, but I liked Ryan more. I did enjoy knowing more about his background though. Gwen is basically kinda a human badass, which you need to be if you wanna tumble around with these shifters. She's one to stand up for what she believes in and her story is one to stick around for. But I didn't love this couple. They were okay and even enjoyable to a point, but they didn't wow me.
LURE OF OBLIVION was definitely different, but looking forward to other Suzanne Wright books. And like when are we gonna get some more books from her Vampire Series? Need some more of those!
Another good one from Suzanne Wright. I love her writing, her characters and the worlds that she has created. At this point I just read anything that she produces and I have yet to be disappointed.
I love that with each new book in the series we get to learn more about a different member of the pack. Loved Gwen and Zander. Looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
I have read all the books and I feel like it keeps getting better and better and each girl is special in there on way and I love that
I will always enjoy coming back to this series, it is one I like to read and re read all the time I love the world and all the characters. I loved how strong Gwen was in this one and the new aspect with the Ghost's was really interesting and I wonder if an of that will come into play in other books. I think if you have gotten this far into the series you know what your in for with these books, they are are kind of done in such a way you know kind of what your getting but that's why you read them for that and the characters. Would for sure recommend this series I have lost count how many times I've read it, Can't wait for the next one! I also can't wait for Dominic's story! he is one of my favorites and I am interested to learn more of his back story.
I had the privilege of reading this book prior to it's release. I am a big fan of Suzanne Wright and the world she is able to create. This book was another example of it, passion, humor, and action, everything you need for a dynamic story.
This one is centered around Gwen an Inn keeper who saves and sticks up for a shifter who is being abused. She risk not only her safety but those of her family as well. Regardless of the threats and danger, Gwen isn't willing to walk away from someone who needs her.
Surprising she gets the help from The Mercury Pack enforcer Zander, although he is drawn to her, his wolf isn't sure what to think about the strong willed human who is willing to go against her own kind. The playful banter between the characters helps lightens up some of the serious situations. Overall, this is a fantastic books that leaves you wanting more. I truly look forward to the next installment.

I have never been disappointed with these books. This is another good addition to the series. The characters in these books never seem to disappoint. the female leads are always a little quirky but strong. They can handle most things on their own. Especially their ultra possessive alpha male counterpart. Gwen is human but has always been fascinated with the shifters; especially wolves and their packs. When a group of humans terrorize and beat a shifter, she stands up and fights back for the victim because "it's right". When their is fallout for her stance, she does not break. Zander is visiting the area to handle family business. He has his own set of problems with his crazy twin. While staying at the Bed and breakfast where Gwen lives, he learns of her troubles. He stays to help and things get a little tricky. He finds Gwen fascinating, however, his inner wolf backs away from her. The story offers everything we expect from this author. Sexy scenes(check), possessives males(check), strong female(check) humor(check) good plot(check).
Loved it, I really hope we met Dominic's mate soon he's just too much and Roni lol. Can't wait for the next book in this world.

Gwen Miller may have put herself in danger by protecting a shifter who was the target of a vicious attack, but she refuses to change her stance on the situation. Living a quiet and satisfying life with her close knit foster family has taught her to stand up for whats right, and she plans on doing just that... no matter what.
Zander Devlin is an enforcer for the Mercury Pack who happens to be in town for personal business. When he arrives for his stay at the B&B where Gwen lives and works he is immediately drawn to her... whether his wolf agrees or not. Once he learns of the dangerous situation Gwen is facing, his protective instincts kick in... and his new focus involves all things Gwen...
This was a good read. This is book three in the Mercury Pack series, where we get the story of Zander Devlin. Zander is pretty closed off due to his twin brother, who is self centered and focuses on his hate for Zander throughout their life. With an unhappy childhood in a family who dismisses him regularly Zander decided to do his own thing. But, while Zander chose to move away and join the Mercury Pack, his brother has a difficult time leaving well enough alone.
Before being a part of her foster family that she loves so much, Gwen lived her life in some pretty bad conditions. Thankful for the life he has now, she focuses on helping her family in any way she can. She is strong and confident, but can't really see what someone like Zander would see in her.
I liked Zander and Gwen as a couple. They both have similar guarded attitudes, but easily let each other in. As usual, the sex in this book was shifter hot, and the plot was engaging while showcasing the true selflessness in a character like Gwen.
I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.
I freely admit to jumping in and out of this and the parallel series from this author. While I’ve enjoyed each one I’ve read, I always spend a little time “catching up” on what I’ve missed. This book was no different. I’m sure they would probably be better enjoyed in order, or by binge reading them all at once, but that’s just not the way I’ve been doing it myself, so my review may reflect that.
Gwen is a tough human being. It was a nice departure to find a human who so readily stands up for the shifters, even if they start out as strangers to her. One such stranger, a woman getting beaten nearly to death, ends up being rescued by Gwen. The person assaulting the shifter woman turned out to be a member of a very “connected” family in town. This doesn’t stop Gwen from reaching out to the shifter council to report the matter, especially when it becomes apparent that the town sheriff doesn’t view the victim as worth his time.
Zander winds up in Gwen’s B&B to attend the reading of his uncle’s will. Through a twist of fate, he’s able to step in and help her stand up for herself (and the wounded shifter woman), though I am not sure she needs him as much as he wanted to be needed. These two are prickly and awesome to watch build a relationship. What starts as a sizzling fling quickly grows to something so much more. With all the drama in town, it’s easy for Zander to make excuses to stick around even longer. From there, things explode in more ways than one.
As always, this made a great addition to the series and brought back many familiar faces. Gwen and Zander are a welcome addition to the mated couples in the group. I’m eager to see a big showdown that gets the group some progress in the larger storyline of the extremists and the movement. Maybe next time? I’m hopeful!
I've long been a fan of Suzanne Wright’s stories about both The Phoenix
and Mercury Packs. She is one of the few authors I auto-buy. "Lure of
Oblivion" features the story of Gwen, a woman who works in a B&B owned
and run by her family, and Mercury Pack Enforcer Zander. Like most women
in Ms. Wrights novels, Gwen is strong, courageous, stubborn, and
independent. Zander is dominant, possessive, and protective...and hot as
hell. One of the things I like best about this series is that they never
fail to make me laugh out loud, despite the serious themes and
situations...this book was no exception. While I enjoyed this book very
much for many of the same reasons I've enjoyed the others in the series,
it didn't stand out enough to rate five stars. That said, I liked it
enough to buy my own copy, despite the fact that the publisher provided
a free copy via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Highly
recommended for anyone who loves hot shifters and kick-a** heroines.
I love action packed romance books that have a good balance between both the action/suspense aspects and the romance and this author never disappoints. Shifters are my favorite and this author didn’t let me down with Lure Of Oblivion. Between the bad guys, the blooming love between Gwen and Zander and a pack I have grown to love over the last couple books, I was excited to contained on the journey and can’t wait to see what’s next. 4 Stars #2OCcjD
Lure of Oblivion was a good solid read for me. I would expect no less of Suzanne Wright. She is one of my favorite authors and her books always hit the good spot. I will say that though I enjoyed this read something kept it from being a 5 star read for me. I honestly can't put a finger on what kept this read from wowing me but something was missing for me. I loved Gwen. I thought she was totally bad ass for a human. I liked Zander a lot. I didn't love him but I really liked him. I think I was a little put off that he was kind of standoffish to Gwen at the start. However when Gwen and Zander got together their passion was burning up my kindle. SW writes great sex in her books. I enjoyed the plot as well. I started this book and it kept me entertained the whole time. Lure of oblivion was a great addition to the Mercury Pack series and I can't wait to read the next book.
Rated 3.5!
When Gwen Miller sees a shifter woman being beat, she rushes headlong into the situation. Gwen come from an abusive background so she will do all in her power to protect someone who is helpless, no matter the species. Gwen is not willing to back down from a fight so as far as she is concerned, she will not be bullied into not testifying on her new friend's behalf.
Zander Devlin, enforcer for the Mercury Pack, is in town for the reading of his uncle's will. The minute he sets foot onto Gwen's B&B, she catches his eye. Zander's wolf is leery of her which causes his interest to rise. Zander has his own problems to worry about, but something about Gwen draws him in. The main thing he needs to deal with is why his wolf is acting so strangely around her.
When I picked up LURE OF OBLIVION, I did not know it was part of a series. It was not until other characters came into the picture that I noticed I was missing some small details. It could still be read as a standalone; don't get me wrong. But I personally would have liked to start at the beginning since I'm just weird that way. I will definitely be going back to read the first two installments, SPIRAL OF NEED and FORCE OF TEMPTATION. What I love about LURE OF OBLIVION is the pack community. Not all packs are alike! Each has their own rules and regulations, but most are like their own little families. Zander is very intriguing. He is kind of standoffish in the beginning. Throughout the story, he slowly opens up. Gwen and Zander together are dynamite. The passion, the love, the kinship... they are simply made for one another. Can't wait to read more by Ms. Wright.
I love the characters in this book, they are all believable and really easy to identify with - another great book in a series full of fab books.
Our leading lady is the lovely human, Gwen Miller. She and her family run a fantastic haunted Victorian Mansion as a bed and breakfast with a lovely marsh as the back yard. I mean come on – how amazing is that setting? I absolutely love it.
We start on Gwen’s journey as the only witness to three human boys assaulting a lone shifter female. Enter Zander.
As a guest at Gwen’s inn, Mercury pack shifter enforcer Zander Devlin is in town to hear the will of his late (great?? Maybe??) Uncle and runs into his evil twin. Yes. Literally evil twin (that whole arc seemed a little unnecessary but eh whatevs). But Zander just can’t seem to leave Gwen alone and go back home to Mercury territory.
As a HUGE fan of Suzanne Wright this should have been 5 stars. I love all of her books and honestly this wasn’t a bad book. Gwen and Zander were great – their steamy scenes were incredible and saucy. Wright excels at writing delicious steamy moments.
But… it was predictable for her. Switch out some names and we could have had 3 or 4 of her past books – this book just wasn’t very memorable.
<spoiler>And I mean come on – how many times are you going to have the mating bond not complete but then leading lady is inches from death only to have the main man experience an epiphany and ta da! Bond is complete and he is able to save his lady love! Seriously – EVERY BOOK SUZANNE! But dear god please don’t start just killing off characters </spoiler>.
BUT I seriously loved loved loved the idea of a human mate. I mean come on – Gwen just got to live out every book nerd’s dream *highfive*
