So it's no surprise that im a huge Suzanne wright fan right?. I feel in love with her books while reading <b>Here Be Sexist Vampires</b> Back in 2012. I have craved her stories since.
This book again shows why I love her so damn much.
A list of what a book requires for me to love it..

*fiesty strong heroine
*alpha hero
*lots of humour/sarcastic wit
*equally great side characters

She gives me that in abundance.

A seemless story written to my kind of perfection. You have suspense, betrayal, love, laughter and lots of steamy sexual endeavours. I felt well connected to the characters and there journey to happiness. I love that although there's a lot going on in this story there isn't any unnecessary drama or fillers. I appreciate how well Suzanne manages to bring new elements to her story giving a few little surprises you won't see coming. I adore how she manages to always make her stories a family event bringing in previous characters from past books and intergrating them seemlesly into the present. They don't steal the show but for me they make it better, more entertaining and all the more lovable.

I say this about most of Suzanne's heroines but Gwen really is a favourite for me. A strong willed women with fiesty opinionated tendencies are my favourite kind however Gwen really does stand out from the others because she human. I love that she didn't back down while surrounded by shifters. she's a genuine character, sincere, honest and all things good. She held her own against all the odds while remaining humble. She didn't use her past as an excuse but rather it made her more determined to help.

Zander will swiftly be added to my never ending book boyfriend collection. I love that he was a little different to all Suzanne's other heroes. Normally the alpha hero's tends to have a pretty extensive manwhoring past however zander seemed to be the exception for that because his wolf didn't like nor trust women. He had that broody alpha asshole vibe down to a t which suited his personality. He wasn't the most approachable but I found him really endearing. I enjoyed the inner battle he had with himself it was nice to see him loose control a little.

I loved them as a couple! They had great chemistry, I believed in them from the start. Their journey to happiness isn't smooth sailing, it a rollercoaster...but a great one. I love all the crazy dysfunctional family antics. Everything just fit for me and I loved it.

I must admit though that I'm still curious about Gwen's sister and father! Hmmm maybe I'm the future Suzanne? (Hint hint!)

I adore Ms. Wright and I have read and will continue to read every single book she writes.

That said, this was not my favorite book in this series. In fact, it might actually be my least favorite to date. But, considering my "least favorite" is still weighing in at a solid 3-3.5, that's okay by me.

They can't ALL be winners. Cause then there would BE no winners.

Think about it.

I'm not sure exactly what I didn't love about this one.

I guess I just found Gwen and her...situation to be a tad boring.

Or maybe I'm just a shifterist and the fact that she was human failed to blow my mind.

Who knows.

Maybe I will enjoy this more the second time around.

I do have a LOT going on at home right now and I find myself somewhat distracted when reading lately. GASP!

I know, I know, crazy, right?

But that's an indication of how many balls I have up in the air right now.

Some are bound to drop.

Fans of the series will still enjoy this book, although in my opinion, perhaps not as much as others in the series. Regardless, still worth the read.

As always I loved this book. Wright's writing style is one of my favorite, there is never a dull moment. Her books are fast paced, have great characters, chemistry, hot love scenes, love and connection. So I thoroughly enjoyed this story and simply couldn't put it down until I was finished.
Thank you Suzanne for writing another beautiful story with great characters! Can't wait for the next one!

LURE OF OBLIVION started well. I liked that it took place away from the pack lodge, it shook the formula up a little. I hadn't realized how often Wright reuses bits and scenes until they weren't there. It was interesting in the beginning; the Shifter girl who had been beaten by a human teen and Gwen, the human who protected her and planned to testify for her at the Shifter council.

Zander shows up to take care of some personal business to do with his evil twin. He stuck around when Gwen caught his and his wolf’s interest. Then the book started to ramble on, not particularly going anywhere. Various subplots were introduced, some just tacked on, which then disappeared for chapters at a time.

There were numerous plot contrivances. The secondary characters were cardboard stereotypes; and the teen and his dad were laughably cliche. The latter part of the book bothered me. Such violence and a blatant disregard for life, both human and shifter; not to mention the almost mob-style killings and discarding of bodies.

Oh, and the epilogue did an infamous take-off on Lora Leah and her ‘Breeds’. You'll know it when you read it…

This is my first time reading a novel by Suzanne Wright and I'm so excited to have found her work. I love the alternate universe created within the book. Gwen is such a strong yet relatable main character, I was really happy with her character development. Zander is your typical lone-wolf, strong, silent type. The two main characters complimented each other well. It's definitely a steamy romance. I can't wait to read the first novel in this series because I really would like to see more.

So by know you all know I am a HUGE Suzanne Wright fan!!! She write my crack...lets face it Im hooked on Strong female leads and Hot Dominating Alpha Males. Add in some snark and sass and I am happy as a clam!

MS. Wright delivers again in this story about Zander who we really haven't heard about in detail. His story is a sad and lonely beginning. Including abuse from is twin and mother. I like that Ms. Wright does not stick with stereotypes and that the family situations are always different. Zander was a fully rounded male who took a while to open up to Gwen.

Gwen was a total package. She was wounded yet strong , protective of her family and interesting. She never once bowed to Zander because he was a wolf and she was human. She stood her ground and took the time she needed. Her back story was interesting and had a few hidden troubles in it.

The secondary characters are as intriguing as always. I always feel like they are whole not just filler or support for the main characters which is a major must for me.

I decided to avoid SW books because of Greta but I usually get request fingers when I see a book on read now on netgallery from authors I like, I just click on it without thinking. I was prepared to suffer through it, because : Greta. Imagine my joy when I realized it was the story of another pack. Whew.

Although I'm pleased there is no Greta in this book, I really didn't enjoy it as much, it lacked a certain je ne sais quoi. I liked Gwen, I was ok with Zander but their story, not so much. It just lacked something

I've always loved the Phoenix Pack and am also loving the Mercury Pack, that being said this book was just ok for me.

The reason behind my 3 stars is that there was entirely too much glossing over of events. Sure they were insignificant but it would have been helpful for those events to have been told in real time to help with the overall timeline of the book.

When we meet Gwen she's being harassed by a fellow human (and his goonies) because she won't recant her statement to the shifter council that he beat another shifter. So Brant, the fellow human, comes to her house, which is a B&B, and threatens her.

Meanwhile Zander's uncle has passed away and he needs to go to Oregon(?) to review the will in person with the attorney. Zander's identical twin brother will also be there. His brother is a douche.

So when Zander comes to Oregon naturally he's going to stay at the B&B, where Gwen lives and works. Something about Gwen has Zander's wolf acting weird. He backs away anytime Gwen is near, but he doesn't exactly dislike her either. Zander is perplexed.

Throughout the book we have Zander and Gwen spending time together but also him being there for her when the humans come to harass her, and also them letting the shifter who was beaten, Andie, that there is a loner shifter shelter. Both Gwen and Andie are skeptical.

Anyways the whole book is centered around the shifter council meeting in 1 month. The problem for me when it became difficult to tell exactly HOW much time had passed between scenes. At the end of a chapter Gwen and Zander would be in bed together and then all of a sudden at the start of the next chapter it's like days later instead of morning like some previous chapters mentioned. There were also scenes where phone calls were mentioned but were done off page. It really became kind of frustrating for me to figure out when it exactly was. I think had the 1 month not been mentioned I might not have cared or paid as much attention to it.

Overall I did enjoy the book. Sadly though the events of the Las Vegas shooting made some of the scenes later in the book difficult for me to read. It also was because of this I had a difficult time enjoying or staying engaged in the book. Still I did enjoy it, it was just missing some key factors that I've come to expect from this series. The humor was kinda there, but not as prevalent as previous books.

I'm still going to read subsequent books from this series and Phoenix Pack because I enjoy the characters. This one, however, wasn't the best of the best.

Lure of Oblivion the third book in the Mercury Pack series is a cracking good read. Shifter enforcer Zander the taciturn character in the previous books meets Gwen Miller a human who has always been fascinated with shifters and their packs having never had a family of her own.
Gwen has put herself at risk from local shifter haters by about to testify against a teenage boy she witnessed viciously attacking a female shifter. He is from a wealthy family who have the local law in their pockets and think nothing will ever touch them.
Zander decides she needs help support and protection when he visits the area with a couple from his pack. He is drawn to Gwen though his wolf retreats from her for reasons Zander cannot fathom at first, soon it is revealed why as their relationship develops quickly and passionately.
Yet another great story from this author, the pace never stops. It was great to meet up with mercury pack members in the pressie books.
An exciting wonderful story, thoroughly enjoyable....cant wait for the next.

3 „I am totally bummed about this book“ stars.
I am a Ms. Wright fan and I love all her series. She sucks you. Gives you great characters with quirky personalities and a zest for life and for them to find their mates. There is snark, there is a knock your socks off plot. There are shenanigans you love and cannot wait to read about again and again. It’s like coming home and it is the same here as well
but
the new instalment in the Mercury Pack just didn’t work for me. Out of all of the books that this talented lady has written a total of 18 (I counted) I have only ever 3 stared one book and that was Nick & Shay’s book. This is the second book that is to be 3 stared and I am completely bummed about it.
It isn’t even the fact that our heroine is human. That was a good plot line to through with and it made the book unique to the others that have been written. It just unfortunately lacked that spark that could have moved it from good to bloody brilliant. I just couldn’t connect to Gwen.
It was the Hero. You know I couldn’t remember one memorable thing about him. I couldn’t connect to him either. I was more interested in Bracken than Zander. I feel as if I shouldn’t need to go back and reread the books if you know what I mean.
The one thing that really got to me though was Zander calling Gwen my baby and well that just reminded me of nappies and well that she was any moment going to turn around and say yes daddy.
This just my personal opinion. Each to their own. Enjoy it!

Just like all of Ms. Wright’s books, I loved this one. Funny. Very sexy. And a little suspenseful. The characters are hilarious. The storyline is smooth and interesting. And of course shifters.
Gwen is human and helps her foster family run a B&B. She had a rough childhood and was put in foster care at eight. When a shifter is badly beaten, she witnesses it and tells the cops. But nothing is done and she takes it to the shifter council. The guys who did it, try and threaten Gwen to not testify but she refuses to back down.
Zander is a wolf shifter and his wolf is not a fan of women. He and his friend go to Oregon to the reading of his Uncle’s will. They stay at the B&B, which is supposed to be haunted. Zander has a twin and a sister but his twin is mean. When he hears about what’s been happening to Gwen, he and his buddy decides to stick around and protect them. Something is wrong with Zander’s wolf because he is weary of Gwen but he can’t figure out why.
Both are secretive people and Gwen takes care of her family but doesn’t know how to let Zander take care of her. Zander is tough and doesn’t open up to anyone but to get Gwen to tell about herself, he shares some of his past. Gwen is afraid to hope because it has never really worked out for her but she realizes that without it, she may not get the whole mate experience.

Good read enjoyed so much I need to get the other 2 books in the series. I missed them some how.

After trying to read Fierce Obsessions in preparation to read this book, I decided it was time to give up on the companion series. I will not be reading and reviewing this book.

Once again, Ms. Wright has presented us with a wonderfully woven shifter romance, this time with a new couple’s dynamic, since our heroine is a human.

We first met our hero, wolf shifter Zander Devlin, in “Carnal Secrets” (book three of the Phoenix Pack series). Personally, because he’s always been a bit of a loner and kept to himself, I wasn’t all that eager to read his story, but I was somewhat curious to see how his own tale would unravel.

Gwen Miller, our human heroine, was the perfect person to balance our hero. While he was the quiet one, she didn’t mind making waves, at all. She’s strong (not that H isn’t, mind you), and her will and opinion won’t bend for anyone. I wasn’t surprised to see that she’s got her own insecurities regarding her physical appearance, though. Along with that, she also had a bit of a hard time trusting the hero, because their relationship, for all intents and purposes, had an expiration date.

It didn’t surprise me that this was a slow-burn romance, and it couldn’t have been any other way. They needed to build up their love, and mostly their trust, in each other and themselves, and they accomplished it neatly throughout the plot. That’s not to say that it didn’t have its fair share of heat, because it did.

Other elements in this plot that I loved was the B&B, the other characters—Gwen’s family and Zander’s pack—and, of course, the ending (what an adrenaline punch!).

My final rating is 4 stars, because while I absolutely loved mostly everything in this book, I wanted to see Zander take on a more active role as the alpha that he is.
It’s a guarantee that I’ll keep on reading Ms. Wright’s books, even more so because I’m eager to read both Cain's and Dominic’s stories.

When I spotted this as a "read now" on the netgalley site, I honestly couldn't add it to my kindle fast enough.
I really love Suzanne Wright's wolf-shifter books (both the Mercury Pack and the Phoenix Pack series). I had already pre-ordered this one on amazon so it was an added bonus getting to read it early.
Zander was a character that the reader doesn't know much about- up until now, so I really liked that we get his full story and also that his mate ends up being a human. Gwen's mental toughness as well as her ability to hold her own in a fight situation with other humans definitely showed her strength as well. This made for a little different story from others in the series and was really enjoyable reading.
Seriously this author NEVER disappoints and this was a solid 4+++ stars for me.

This book was really good. I just wish it was more of it. I wanted more of Gwen with the pack. More about Aiden and his end. That said this book was funny, sexy and a real page turner. I have to love the Mercury & Phoenix packs. What a great group of characters. I look forward to more books in the future.

As always, Suzanne doe not disappoint with her books. I loved how she explored a true mate relationship between a shifter and a human. You get so wrapped up in it you can't see the distinctions between there relationship and a purely shifter relationship. It was no less beautiful, more delicate and treasured. Suzanne has the ability to create so seriously vile characters and this book was chock full of them. Another wonderful plot ensuring the series stays new and fresh. I loved that although Gwen was an independent character, she wasn't completely dominant in her relationship with Zander and I think that's due to the fact she is human. Which again highlights Suzanne's magical writing skills to ensure each book and main couple are different from each other. Lots of action and a lot of emotion. We worth the ride!

Sadly, this was probably my least favorite book in the Mercury Pack series.

I expected a lot more from this book, considering it's the first one with a human as one of the two main characters, but it did not deliver.

I still enjoyed it though. Suzanne Wright writes sexy scenes and alpha males like NO OTHER, and on that front, this book did not disappoint.

But action and pace wise, it was a bit slow for me. The two other books in this series had a lit more action in my opinion. Not much was happening in this one, and certain parts really dragged.

With that being said, I'm thinking the next book in this series might be Bracken's so I'm definitely looking forward to that!

All in all, still enjoyed it, but my least favorite of the series.

So the third book in the Mercury Pack series takes us off on a different tangent to the previous books... and it moves our location as well!

Gwen is a human taking a stand... she's going to testify against the teenage boy she saw beating a lone shifter - and she's going to testify come hell or high water! It helps that she lives at a B&B in the middle of nowhere with a slightly loco family who (of course) have trained her in self defense, fighting, shooting...

But she wasn't expecting Zander, a wolf shifter who is staying at the B&B but decides that Gwen needs his help, and the least he can do is help keep her safe!

The chemistry between these two is more of a slow burn but they get there and Zander eventually (and it takes him most of the book) realises that Gwen is his true mate

I enjoyed this trip away from the homestead (or what ever the pack version is) but have to admit I liked seeing old familiar faces when they got home!
