Excellent guide to healthcare for people with autism, well researched and spot on tips
So... I personally enjoyed this book but it was not for my demographic. I have a son with autism and that is what sparked my interest in this book. With that said I do believe it gives useful information and is informative for workforce and developing a way to handle people with autism in doctors offices. It also makes it more personalized since the author is diagnosed with autism and can give constructive feedback for people in that age range. I think it is a useful tool and if incorporated correctly could possibly change things for the better.
This is an absolutely brilliant guide for any healthcare professional who'll be coming into contact with patients on the autism spectrum. There is so much we can do and consider when dealing with people with autism to make their journey through the healthcare system that much easier, and this book is my new bible for such a thing! Granted it is written by an American and centres around the American healthcare system with a lot of Americanisms along the way, but the advice and ideas are helpful nonetheless. This is a book I think all healthcare professionals should read, and the fact it is written by a HCP who also has a diagnosis of autism herself, makes this completely invaluable.
Very informative and learned a lot on the subject. Great read
