A next in line heir to prince of Monaco falls in love with a beautician in Las Vegas. The story was fairly well written, but it was not very realistic or believable and the characters were generic and flat. Usually I like fairytale romances, but this one didn't grabbed me since I couldn't really relate or like the characters. Even if it was written to be a fairytale, a prince falling in love with unremarkable beautician felt a bit weird.
See review on Goodreads. I loved it!! Books like these are always my favorite because you get the chance to see the human side of celebrities and important people. Love finds everyone and it was so good in this book. It was hilarious throughout, even the serious times were funny.
How many times have you found yourself wanting a break from your life? A break to live life freely, have a little fun and recharge your batteries so that you can return to your "usual" self? This is the predicament His Royal Highness Prince Lucien of Monaco, Luc to friends and family, is having. Since the accidental death of his twin brother, he's been forced into the role as the "spare" sovereign--a role he never wanted, never expected to be in and he's finding it stifling. Until the night he meets Hannah. Hannah's a bit of a free bird--she does what she wants, when she wants and with whomever she wants. And right not she wants Luc. Until she doesn't...
I really enjoyed the insta love between Luc and Hannah. It didn't come across as forced or rushed, it felt genuine, fun and flirty. They were perfect for each other in every way. And, whoa, were their between the sheets times sexy AF. I loved how they found their way to each other, that they didn't give up on each other. It did become a little draggy in the middle, and some family issues that seemed to be challenging to work around were resolved without much fanfare. But overall, Reluctantly Royal was a fun, sexy, and heart warming along with a little heart breaking romance.
I enjoyed Reluctantly Royal, the first book in the HRH series by new to me author Gillian Archer.
Royalty falls for normal girl...we read about this often enough. This story though has a few different twists, some enough to bring tears to my eyes. There were so many laughs too though. Hannah is definitely different from the women that Prince Luc of Monaco generally spends time with. She lives in the moment and is not shy about asking for what she wants. After a year of mourning his father and brother (and this story line kills me too), she is the light that brings him back to life. However, he has responsibilities and never in a million years did he believe this would be more than a hit it and quit it week of fun. Both Hannah and Luc must deal with pasts that drive them to live the way they do. Will they be able to overcome both the past and present roadblocks to end up together? A good love story and plenty of steam when these two come together!

Very enjoyable read. Light and fun with just enough angst to give the story some depth. Luc and Hannah work perfectly together and I could feel their chemistry. The story is very well written and the story has a nice flow making for a relaxing read.
Luc was never suppose to be the spare prince. That was his twin brothers role. He's lived his life his way, carefree and unencumbered. After the death of his father and twin brother in an awful accident Luc now finds himself being pressured to calm his playboy ways and settle down with a nice suitable woman. Yet all Luc wants is the American beauty Hannah. From the moment he met her he knew she was different. Not telling who he is immediately may cost him everything though.
Definitely a recommended read.
A bit slow paced for me. Luc is going through a terrible time in his life and everything is changing and he's not ready for it.
This is Luc and Hannah’s story. He was a prince. She as a hairdresser. He was his brothers heir. He was sent to Las Vegas to give the keynote address. He met her in a karaoke bar. She didn’t know he was a prince. When she found out she was going to let him go. He wouldn’t let her go. She goes to meet his family in Monaco. His brother acts terribly to her. She finds out she has cancer and wants to leave him. There are many twists and turns in their relationship. I loved their happily ever after. I hope there is another book in this series.
This was just okay. With a few minor curve balls, it was predictable from first page to last. Big brother Bastien, the designated bad guy, did a completely unbelievable turnaround, and everything tied up entirely too neatly at the end. Considering how much I love this subgenre, RR was a bit of a disappointment.
My recommendation: don't pay $4.99 for this. Pick it up on KU or at reduced price. Better royal romances are Emma Chase, or the Latvala series by Danielle Bourdon.

Luc is the Prince of Monaco and he is being forced to settle down and marry with the correct bloodlines. His older brother is the one who is forcing Luc to get married after the death of their father and brother. But before he married a princess he is going to enjoy one last trip to Vegas.
Now he was looking for just a hook up in Vegas but what he got was Hannah. She some how has no idea who Luc is which was so refreshing to Luc and he doesn't wants this to stay in Vegas! But Luc is keeping a secret that will ruin everything! Insert dramatic music....Hannah too is keeping a secret too!
Who doesn't love a bad boy prince story!?! Gillian Archer writes a fun royal story, that I enjoyed. I look forward to read more from her!
This was an ok Royal romp. The use of Vegas and his needing to hunker down and get married moved the story along.
Gillian has a way with words. Hot, sexy and romantic all describe Luv and Hannah's story. Fairy tales can come true!
Sorry, I didn't like this book. I thought that the characters were immature and predictable. There was so much sex in the book that I was skimming over a lot of it. I was surprised about the places that the prince and Hannah visited in Las Vegas. I am not the right audience for this book and I would not recommend it.
I thought this book was okay. I liked the story and all, but Hannah not so much. She ran hot and cold and it annoyed to no end. Lucien wasn't that much of a bad boy as I expected. But his brother Bastien was certainly a piece of work and at least there was some redemption for him at the end. I also felt the first few chapters were slow going and I put this book down several times before reading again. I voluntarily read this book via NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion.
3.5 Stars!
This was a whirlwind romance between a reluctant “spare” prince and an unemployed cosmetologist. A big portion of this book was Luc and Hannah going on adventurous dates as they got to know each other during their weeklong fling.
At first Luc kept his identity secret but when Hannah found out, he knew he wanted more than a week with her. He just has to convince Hannah to leave her life in Vegas to go home with him to Monaco.
This was a cute story with a little bit of serious thrown in. Their story is like a fairytale come true except Hanna lives in reality and it takes some convincing from Luc to give them a chance. Throw in conflict with the true prince, Luc’s brother and that fairytale doesn’t feel like a fairytale anymore.

I am desperate to find a really good royals love story and so I enter into each one I pick up feeling ever hopeful. Unfortunately, this one didn't work for me. I can't put my finger on what the problem is - I think I just didn't connect with the writing style. It was a bit stiff and the end result was that I became rather bored pretty early on. It had a lot of promise, and the characters were likeable enough - I think the writing style just wasn't for me. In the end, I put it down around 35%. I sincerely appreciate the opportunity to read and review. This one just didn't work for me.
Slow to start, then much better. Bastien needed an @&$ kicking.
A wonderfully romantic and sexy tale of a Monaco prince on a semi-holiday in Los Vegas and a cosmetologist who meet at a bar and take an immediate liking for each other. There is so much more to the tale, but you must read it to find out.
Gone are the days when romance was nothing but fluff, but even though this books deals with a that dreaded word that everyone hates it brings out so many positive feelings and emotions and puts them into a story that will twist those heartstrings just a little. This story has an unlikely relationship and is a true cinderella story of a prince and his hairdresser with some unexpected turns that will keep the pages turning. I flew through this one and couldn’t put it down. Luc and Hannah are so sweet together and pretty fun at times too.

Romance is in the air love as well as royals. Enjoyed this book thoroughly, because this book doesn't have much roughness compared to her previous books. However, what it has is a lot of romance and drama. I am not going to tell and spill the beans ... you'll have to read the book.
I love fantasy and fairy tales ... so if you love to be swept off your feet and taken away by a prince, I highly recommend this book. This is the perfect book for day dreaming of your prince, and then sighing after finishing the book.
