Jessica Lemmon is quickly becoming one of my go to authors. Her Real Love series is filled with amazing characters who you fall in love with. I loved the dynamic between the two characters in this one. I especially loved Dax and how open and vulnerable he was. I felt like Becca was pretty immature but I did like her personality. The epilogue was nice but throwing a baby at them already felt unrealistic and not necessary
Dax and Becca had instant chemistry. The author did a good job describing and connecting the main characters. Becca has found herself in so many bad situations and knocked down by the words her brother spoke to her. He says negative things that end up making her feel less than she is. Thank you for allowing me to write about it and read it.
I've enjoyed the series, but of the three stories, this one was not my favorite...Dax's reappearance here was long awaited, I'm glad to see him get his own story. The stumbling block for me was Becca, I just couldn't feel the chemistry between her and Dax. There are humorous moments, and some touching ones, but I wanted more of that from the couple, yet I know if they make an appearance again going forward in the series, I'll welcome them because I just know they'll win me over if I give them a second chance.
Ms Lemmon's one of my favorite authors and I'll always read her books, I'm curious to see what she has in store next.

This is the third book in the series; they are linked, but each is a unique romance.
I enjoyed meeting Dax and Becca, and following their story, but I did find their on/off feelings for each other gave me whiplash! Usually, at least one of the leads is certain and attempts to persuade the other – here, they both were anti-relationship, but also clearly very attracted to each other. As they skirted around the issues, we get both their points of view, so are well aware of their feelings, but can't influence them actually talking to each other... I confess, I was invested in getting it sorted out!
It had some fun moments, some sweet ones, some sexy ones, and a satisfying ending. I enjoyed it, and was pleased when we had a brief catch up with Grace, too.

I enjoyed the characters of Dax and Becca, but it didn't hold my interest for long. The one-night stand vs more, seemed to drag the story down. Becca is seen by her family as flighty and someone who needs to be taken care of. Becca's self-esteem issues cause her to doubt herself, not only in following her dreams but her heart. Wanting more but believing that you aren't able to have it is devastating, and so she chooses to believe that love isn't meant to be.
Dax, on the other hand, knows what he wants. He's just not sure if he can build a foundation for Becca that will allow her to believe in herself and each other.
Wonderful standalone read.
Dax is tired of being the responsible one. He needs a break from his life, some alone time. Becca is a free spirit who dabbles in a little of every thing. She has a job with her brother in the management of rental cabins. A storm erupts, a "one" night stand occurs, one thing leads to another.
A wonderful story of encouragement, standing up for oneself, being open and honest especially to oneself.
I love Jessica Lemmon's books, and was thrilled to see another of her titles pop up on netgalley! Steamy and sweet, it provided yet another feel good read.

Though Man Candy is the third in Jessica Lemmon's Real Love series, it stands alone just fine. I would place it solidly in the category of New Adult romance, and perhaps that is not the genre for me. I found that though the writing is first rate, and the story is well plotted, I just never connected to the characters. I appreciated the premise and the novel was enjoyable. The heroine was on my nerves from her first bit of dialogue and she just didn't show enough growth for me. I will never punish an author for my personal preference; the writing and story deserve 4 stars. Man Candy was an overall entertaining read.
I voluntarily read an advanced review copy of this book
Dax just wants to get away from his life and escape to nature to find a little peace. The last thing he expected was to run into Becca
Becca is the black sheep of the family...the dreamer...the free spirit. When her free spirited soul leads to her being fired right in front a tall hunk, Becca is left wondering just what she should be doing with her life...
Can Dax show Becca that she needs to stop running from growing up and face the fact that she can have any and everything she wants... including him? Read and find out!
I really liked that even though Dax was running from his life he did not take Becca for granted. He wanted to give her what she was due. Becca was a very free spirit ...so used to being told to grow up, that she never took a second to realize that her thoughts matter and that she deserved respect and love.
Overall the book was ok, I liked the heat between Dax and Becca but at some point I have to admit that Becca got on my nerves. She for some reason could not see her value and at times I just wanted to tell her to wake up.
I loved the HEA for this one.
Man Candy is a great addition to Jessica Lemmon's Real Love series. Written in first person, alternating between Becca and Dax, Man Candy is a story of a man on vacation to get away from the stress of everyday life and a woman who never stays too long in one place.
Becca is working for her brother at Grand Lark Retreat, the vacation property with several cabins that he owns. Becca has done a little bit of everything and doesn't seem to stay in one place for very long. She's looking for something but isn't quite sure what that is.
Dax is a "Magic Mike" type hunk who comes to stay in a cabin at Grand Lark. The minute Becca sees him she knows that she wants to get to know him. Dax was burned by his ex; she left him abruptly after being together for 2 years. He's not interested in anything serious. Becca and Dax agree to have a vacation fling while he is staying at Grand Lark.
As one could easily guess the vacation fling turns into something more – except neither of them will admit that to the other.
This story has lots of feels to it. Becca and Dax are so happy together during his time at Grand Lark and their sexy time is smoking hot. I was rooting for the two of them the whole time. While I was confident that they would get their HEA Jessica Lemmon sure didn't make it easy on them or this reader. I was crying big fat happy tears by the time I got to the end of this story.
This book can easily be read as a standalone but characters from previous books in the series have cameo roles and a secondary character in this book will be the featured character in book 4, Rumor Has It.
A review copy was provided by the publisher via NetGalley but this did not influence my opinion or rating of the book.

Humorous, captivating, and wonderfully provocative!
Man Candy is a smoldering, sultry tale that takes us into the lives of two main characters. Dax, a handsome businessman hoping a little alone time will help him regroup and focus after the loss of his father, and Becca a spunky, young woman who always seems to be running a little late and never seems to live up to her family’s expectations.
The writing is witty and light. The characters are charismatic, relatable, supportive, and endearing. And the plot is an enticing mix of instant attraction, steamy chemistry, familial drama, playful banter, and heartfelt moments.
Man Candy is the third book in the "Real Love" series, and once again Lemmon has written a novel that has all the swoon-worthy elements you look for in a lighthearted romance, sexy characters, a charming storyline, lots of heart, and a happy-ever-after ending that will make you smile.
Not a whole lot to talk about here, folks. The synopsis pretty much spells it all out. Though Dax had me wanting to spend more time with his good guy character, Becca, the heroine, became the main reason I stopped reading at 30%. I just didn’t find her flighty, irresponsible, oblivious to most of what was going on around her character particularly appealing. With more steam than substance, I just wasn’t enjoying it enough to see this couple get their HEA.
Here’s to hoping it hits the sweet spot with others. I wish the author all the best. Book 2 was more engaging for me. This one was like biting into a piece of chocolate and wishing the center was something different.
Title: Man Candy, Series: Real Love (Book 3), Author: Jessica Lemmon, Pages: 213, stand-alone but part of a series, very graphic/steamy/smexy, stopped at 30%.
Book 1 - Eye Candy (Vince & Jacquelin)
Book 2 - Arm Candy (Davis & Grace)
Book 3 - Man Candy (Dax & Becca)

Man Candy by Jessica lemmon can be read as a standalone. This was sweet romance and the main couple had great chemistry. I liked the side characters as well. I will be going back to read the previous books in the series. Hope there will be more in the series.
First and foremost, I love the cover of Man Candy. I think it has to do with the candy in the background, and the guy isn't bad looking. So yeah, I read this book, because of the cover. I enjoyed the parts that focus on Dax Vaughn. He was totally yummy, and sweet. Oh my gosh talk about a guy who could go with the flow. Seriously, he puts up with a lot of crap from Becca. Now Becca Stone is probably not my top pick in the heroine department. Let me tell you, she drove me crazy. She's pretty flighty and kind of does her own thing. She's not super reliable. However, Dax falls for this girl. Her kind of lifestyle fits what Dax wants at this time. Yet, the more time they spend together, the more he wants to be in Becca's life.
Things I liked about this book. I liked that these two were kind of stranded. Yeah, Becca could have stayed at the restaurant will, but she took a chance to see if Dax would let her stay. They made good use of the time. I love Dax. Even with his own issues about relationships, he was willing to make it work with Becca. I really like that he let Becca dictate how the relationship went, and I liked that it drove Becca crazy. Seriously, she needed a taste of her own crazy.
Becca is one of the main reason I struggle with this book. There were times I wanted to strangle her. Moments where I was like Dax it's okay to find another girl, she don't want you.
In all and all, Man Candy wasn't a bad read. I wasn't a fan of being in Becca's head, but I did love being in Dax. Dax made the book worth reading. I did like the fact that Becca did come to her senses. I think what drove me crazy was Becca would say things along the lines "you probably think this stupid of m." Which I would think, YEAH. Most of the time, I was kind of humming theme to The Facts of Life. Overall, not a bad book, but not a great book.

After reading the other books in the Real Love series, I was excited to read an advance copy of Man Candy and loved it just as much as the others! Dax was such an awesome hero and I fell in love with him from the beginning, so of course I was glued to the page, reading furiously to find out what happened next. Becca was a little different story and a few times there I really wanted to shake her. She finally figured things out, though, and they got their happily ever after. This was such a fun book to read. I loved the characters, the setting, the heat level and the storyline, and would definitely recommend it. Actually, everything I’ve read from this author has been well worth reading.
After reading the first two books in this series I didn't know what to expect from Man Candy. I ended up not liking Eye Candy that much but Arm Candy was so much better... you can see why I had no idea what to expect from the third book. To be honest, MAn Candy end up being in between those two books. I didn't hate it but I also didn't love it. However, I was in a weird reading funk when I read this book so my reading experience was a bit influenced. It's not normal for me to take 10 days to read a romance... not normal at all.
Once again, and just like the previous books, I really enjoyed the writing. I loved how distinct Dax and Becca's voices were and while it took me a long time to finish this book I still think it was an easy read. As I said before, stupid reading funk ruined this book for me.
I also enjoyed the characters. I did have a few problems with them, especially Becca, and in my opinion their relationship was way too fast but I have to admit that they had an amazing development. I would just like to see Becca stand up for herself a little bit. It also wouldn't hurt if Dax and Becca's relationship was a little bit slower. There were a few things that could have happened a little bit later (I'm looking at you thing that happened in the epilogue=.
Overall, I had a few problems with this book but it was still an enjoyable read. While it was quite slow for me I still think it could be a fast paced book for everyone else.
Hot guys falling in love who can not love this type of story. They are all dealing with something different and a challenge on resisting love. Each of the women that they fall in love have their own reasons for resisting them. The great thing was the challenge that they each presented them.
Becca has been skirting life’s coat tails for a while, trying to find a career that she would actually feel passionate about. Landing back at her family’s camp and having her brother as a boss wasn’t exactly what she had in mind.
Dax needs a break from the fast paced exuctive life style. His restaurants are a booming success and he just wants to get away from it all. He never expected to find a gorgeous blond that would rock his world.
Lemmon rocks creating strong character connections, pulling the sexual tension tighter than a bow string and making it all heartfelt from the start.

This was cute and fun! It's a sweet and sexy romance with a bit of humor. I really enjoy Jessica Lemmon's humor, and her characters are always interesting. I really liked the setting, and the scenario of being sort of trapped in the wilderness. This story is quick to the hot stuff, and a bit slower to the feelings aspect of romance. Becca is a bit of a free spirit, who doesn't quite know who she is, or what she wants in life. She's currently working at her brother's lodge resort, but they have some sibling issues, so it's not exactly ideal. Becca sees a hottie at the bar, Dax, and they immediately get to groovin'. Dax has some stresses in his life, and wanted to get away for a couple of weeks, so he decided to stay at the lodge and just be by himself, but when sexy Becca picks him up, he can't resist. These two have lots of sexy times, and both think they'll be fine to go their separate ways when Dax returns home, but keeping feelings out of a sexual relationship is difficult. I liked Becca and Dax, and they are adorable together. Becca's indecision is really annoying though, and I wanted Dax to be a little more alpha, but I still enjoyed their connection. Entertaining, unique romance! Look forward to more from Jessica Lemmon!
3 1/2 STARS!
One night of sexy passion was all it was supposed to be ... until they both wanted more! We're quick to jump into action at the beginning of this story as the characters meet and have instant attraction, but I felt some substance was missing. The old gang from the previous books in the series popped up very little, so that old friendly banter that we knew and loved just wasn't there nearly enough. An enjoyable read for sure ... but not my favorite of the series.
Becca Stone just simply isn't going to put up with her brother firing her in front of the customer's at the bar ... especially when one of them is smoking hot! He'll forgive her for being late ... he has to, he always does! Until then, she'll distract herself having a little fun with the sexy newcomer!
Dax Vaughn is just passing through, but he's willing to have the night of fun the wildcat from the bar offers up ... only when morning comes, he wishes she'd stay around for awhile! When he gets more than he bargained for when the road washes out and strands her in his cabin, good times are had by all ... but he might just be falling for her harder than she is for him!
