Portland Oregon

Teagan Monroe has been living with Drake for seven years as he finishes his medical degree. When she loses her job at the library due to a lack of funding, she heads home early. When she gets there, she finds Drake having sex with a woman in their bedroom. Furious and hurt, she packs her things and leaves.

Corbin Lane, age 32, is the heir to Lane Holdings, one of the Oregon Gold Rush families and is extremely wealthy. Corbin has just lost Eleanor, age 89, his beloved grandmother. She has always been his rock and he loved her dearly and loved spending time with her. His parents do not have a happy marriage. His father treats him with disdain and his mother is usually intoxicated or medicated as she endures her mental abuse from her husband.

Eleanor has left Corbin her large home and land. However, there is a stipulation. He must first find a woman, fall in love, and get married all within six months of the date her will is read. in addition, this marriage must last for at least two years. If he does not do this, the estate and land will go to his father. Although marriage is not what he wants he also doesn’t want his greedy father to get the land and build a mega mall or something equally as awful. But he also knows that finding a woman who likes him for himself and not just his money may not be easy.

Leaving the attorney’s office, his car is rear-ended by none other than Teagan. After she apologizes profusely, he is smitten with her and decides to propose a marriage of convenience. Will Teagan accept or go off somewhere to make a new start?

I tried to simply introduce the plot to readers and not get into it in great depth. This is a good story but I found Teagan to be very immature at times. Corbin is OK but I don’t think all of his decisions were very good. In addition, there is explicit sex and vulgar language. But if that does not bother the reader, I’m sure they will enjoy the book.

This is such a sweet, budding romance. I loved how the story played out. Teagan basically looses everything in one day, her job, boyfriend, and apartment. Corbin’s grandma just passed and in her will threw him for a loop in order to inherit her house and land. Then an accident introduces these two and a plan gets set in place and bam! An unexpected friendship develops and then turns into more. But neither Teagan or Corbin can trust their developing feelings. The way these two come together is perfect. The story flows beautifully and I really fell in love with them.

Drake was Teagan’s boyfriend and had been working fifteen hour shifts as he was a resident at Portland General. Drake was the first long term boyfriend Teagan had and they had met her Jr year of college and had now been together for seven years. Teagan had followed Drake all over the country- she had dropped out of college her Jr yr- while he completed medical school and now his internal medicine residency. Teagan had thought they would be married by now. Teagan wanted a husband, family, and a equine therapy farm for special needs children. Teagan began to doubt Drake still loved her, it had been months since they had been intimate. Teagan now worked at a library. But Teagan went to work and found out funding had been cut and she no longer had a job. Teagan goes home early and finds Drake having sex in their bedroom with another woman. Teagan had probably suspected it but had been too naive to name it for at least six months. Corbin’s grandmother had just died and she was the only woman he had loved in his life for as long as he can remember. Corbin had parents but they were either depressed, drunk, or buttholes. His grandmother had left him her mansion and land but he must be married within six months and be married for at least two years. Corbin thought Lane men aren’t built for faithfulness or families. Teagan had rear ended Corbin in his Mercedes Instead of yelling at her Teagan Corbin took her to a high end restaurant and teagan’s honesty and bluntness was refreshing to Corbin after the women he had known all his life. Then Teagan agrees to Corbins plan for her to be his fake wife and then they headed out to his grandmother’s mansion to have some time to get to know each other. What Corbin doesn’t know is he is the man who starred in Teagan’s sexual fantasies. But Teagan can’t act on them or let Corbin know. It was to be strictly a business arrangement Nothing in Teagan’s life would be real for the next two years and she had to remember that. Trey is Corbin’s best friend and he doesn’t really want to lie to him but one little slip and Corbin could lose his grandmother's home. But there is a strong attraction between Corbin and Teagan.
I loved this book. I am not sure I believe in love at first sight but this book made me want to. This was a well written great romance. I love Teagan and Corbin together I love how Caitlyn accepted Tegan and quickly became her friend and how she defended Teagan against Corbin when his father had stopped at the house when Corbin was at work. I also loved how Corbin is a man who has everything he could want supposedly but he needed Teagan. I couldn’t find anything to complain about in this book which is great. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I highly recommend.

Hello Fellow Readers!

After the last book I read I really just needed a lighthearted easy to read book. This book was perfect. While yes, it was filled with cliche type situations I really didn't mind. Teagan and Corbin are perfect for each other and it really does show with Lynn's writing. The sexual tension between the characters was stifling (in a good way). The entire time I was just like "Please just tear each other's clothes off already!"

Corbin wasn't really a playboy which I enjoyed. Too many contemporary books have the main lead as a playboy. He was still rich, successful, and unable to settle down but at least didn't oogle every women's breasts (just Tegans). Tegan was a little annoying a first since she seemed a little too sweet but eventually, she showed that she had a backbone and refused to just be looked down upon.

The only thing that really annoyed me was that whole thing with Tegan's Ex. It was stupid and I felt didn't fuel the plot like Lynn was hoping.

I've read many a pretend wife book, but I'm pretty sure Stacey Lynn's FAKE WIFE has just out-won them all. Corbin and Teagan's story starts as one of convenience. Their lives have both recently derailed, and upturned their expectations. But with an unexpected fated meeting they are both faced with decisions that could change their lives. Corbin wants nothing more than to break the family mold set forth by his horrid father, and his sadly trapped mother, but when his grandmother passes away a leaves a stipulation in her will for him to be married, it throws everything off balance for him. Teagan currently faced with lies and heartbreak where her life is concerned. To top it off their upended lives come to a screeching halt when Teagan rearends Corbin. But what would typically be a heated exchange or at least a putout one, turns heated in the best way possible.

Corbin was expecting his solution to literally run into him, nor was Teagan expecting to run into her own. But they found each other, and though it started as a mutual solution, it became so, so much more. Teagan and Corbin can't do anything half-assed. They go all in. But it feels too fast, it can't be this easy to find your forever, can it? And as the doubts creep in the heartache set up in this novel just wrecked me. BUT for every twist and gouge, came a intensely sexy moment or a sweetly romantic gesture.

This book is the perfect escape. Sp perfect, that I hated for it to end, but in this book Stacey Lynn has introduced a few other characters that I HAVE to know how their stories play out. This book is a grade-A must-read!

Happy Reading!

I absolutely loved Fake Wife by Stacey Lynn. It was faced paced, light-hearted and with dual Pov which I really liked. I enjoyed Corbin and Teagans romance story and how everything played out in the end. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

What's not to love? Romance, trickery, fake fiancees, rich men...

Fake Wife is such a fun, light, and quick romance. This insta-love novel will entertain from the very first chapter.

Corbin is probably my favorite part of this story. I love that he is initially presented as this uber-rich playboy we have come to expect in romance novels. What he has that makes him unique is his compassion and care for others. Throughout the novel, we see how he values and provides for those he loves, but we also see what weighs him down, turns him inside out. The past he carries affects his inability to make decisions, but as he spends time with Teagan , he begins to believe his dreams are attainable and pushes to meet them. We also see him become more emotionally vulnerable, making me love him all the more.

Teagan starts the story hitting a major rough patch, and we sympathize with her because she seems like a good person. As the novel progresses we see a smart, witty, and compassionate woman, one that is worthy of the dedication Corbin wants to give her. Because of the incidents at the beginning of the book, she has her own insecurities, but she grows and evolves to overcome them.

The story is absolutely insta-love. Corbin and Teagan fall for each other quickly, and their indecision is he only thing The prevents them from transition from a fake to real relationship. There isn’t anything heavy or surprising about the plot, but it is fun and sexy. Plus, it has a great topic of dreams and chasing them.

Fake Wife is the perfect quick weeknight read. Readers will love the characters and their journey, and their love is fun to watch.

5 Fabulously Fake About It Stars.

Fake Wife (Crazy Love #1) by Stacey Lynn publish by Loveswept is an awesome read, and the only book that I have read in one day so far in 2018. I loved the character names I know odd thing to start with but Teagan fits the gypsy carefree be yourself character that Teagan is at least in my opinion, and Corbin I don’t know it feels rich and kind and just wow. To say Teagan Monroe has had a crappy day would be the understatement of the century. If I came home and found my boyfriend banging some blonde after the day Teagan had the last thing I would say is give me an hour to get my stuff. Corbin on the other hand is having a bad day of his own he just lost his grandmother leaving him a house if he was able to be married and happy for at least two years. I have to say I kind of want to bump into someone’s car to find love. I found myself invested in the story and falling in love with the couple. I love the concept of love at first sight even if it was fake I feel like there was an instant connection between the two characters. I am eagerly awaiting the next installment. I have read a few books by Stacey Lynn and by far this one is my favorite. Thank you to Netgalley Loveswept and the author for my arc, this is my honest review.

I picked this up after a very heavy fantasy read. This was exactly what I needed! I like the fake relationship trope and this didn't disappoint. It was a pretty sweet and had low angst. Both characters were great and I enjoyed reading about them.

Who better to be your fake wife than a woman who lost her job, boyfriend, and home in the same day? Or maybe the woman you meet when she rear ends your car?

What if they were the same woman? This scene really sets the tone for the story. The situations, and the things that happen are just enough to keep you engaged without ever making you feel that it went too far.

Corbin and Teagan need one another to solve their current problems and this puts both of them in the perfect place to be ok with a fake marriage for 2 years.

The problem? Fake marriages, especially in romance novels, are never as easy and simple as the people involved think they will be. The challenge with writing them is that you have to keep them fresh without making them seem too unrealistic and like the people who have been thrown together would never actually be attracted to one another.

Stacey Lynn did a good job with this title, I believed not only the attraction between Teagan and Corbin, but I also believed it was realistic that they would end up together. As the story went on, I was able to see a happily ever after for them, and that is what matters.

Add in the chemistry, which was scorching, and the willingness of Corbin to wait until Teagan saw that there was more between them than just the fake marriage and you have an enjoyable read.

I recommend this title.

3.5 STARS

I enjoy Stacey Lynn so when I saw this title on NetGalley I clicked it right away. Once I saw the blurb I was even more excited since I enjoy a good fake romance. This book was a sweet read, very light on angst (which I appreciate most of the time) and overall enjoyable.

I liked Teagan. She had a heck of a day and then gets presented with the opportunity of a lifetime. I liked her sense of self. I truly felt she was a believable character. Her reactions are genuine-to every situation she deals with in the book, and I loved that.

Corbin was a bit harder for me to connect with initially. I'm not sure what it was but I felt a little distanced from him until about 60% into the book. Then I was all in with him. I think in the beginning I just didn't believe his response to the situation he was dealing with. I just wanted a little more from him overall. He's sexy for sure and the swoon factor is there, but I just wanted...more.

There's chemistry between Teagan and Corbin right from the start. She's a little star struck but I think that's absolutely normal. I liked how their relationship progressed; it felt very realistic. I loved watching them figure out their feelings for one another. The sex was steamy-which is always a bonus.

I think the pacing in this book worked. You know going in what to expect in a sense from the blurb, so it's interesting to see this author's spin on this trope. I loved the supporting characters. I look forward to what this author comes up with next. Overall, I enjoyed this title and would recommend it.

Fake Wife by Stacey Lynn was a nice surprise! A marriage of convenience is nothing new, but the characters were fun, and the story pulls you in.

Corbin Lane is on a deadline. He has always loved his grandmother, but never wanted her money. All he wants is the house, but in order to get his inheritance, he needs to be married within six months and stay married for a pre-determined timeframe. HIM! The guy who never does the girlfriend thing! Now he needs to find someone he can trust to marry him. All fake of course.

Teagan Monroe has hit rock bottom, literally. After everything else that has gone wrong, she runs into Corbin in the worth way possible. What she never expected was to have him be her knight in shining armor! The chance to make her dreams come through is at the tip of her fingers. It’s simple really. No sex, no feelings and all business. Nothing can go wrong, right?

It all seemed simple from the start. The only person that was only ever truly there for Corbin was his grandmother. When he learns about the condition in the will, he will do anything to ensure his father will not get the home he wants. But what he did not count on was Teagan.

I loved Corbin and Teagan. Their chemistry is almost instant, but it was fun seeing them come together. I loved that both characters were strong. Corbin was a bit bitter at the start, but we get to learn more about him and understand him better. This is a fun, quick read with great characters and a story that pulls you in.

Corbin, one of Portland's sexiest bachelors, is a player. Never taking life too seriously and never committing to just one woman, unless it's his grandma. Corbin's grandma was the only woman in his messed up family to care for him. His dad fooled around and had another family on the side. His mom drowned her misery in alcohol and drugs. His grandma was his "everything", until she passed away. As a stipulation to her will, Corbin has to marry within six months and make a go of it for at least two years before he can claim his inheritance.

Teagan, a college dropout who followed her boyfriend around the country has just had the worst day ever. She is let go from her job at the library due to cutbacks, only to return home early to find her boyfriend of seven years cheating on her. After packing all of her belongings into her car, she pulls out only to crash into Corbin. A crash that has the ability to change her life.

Corbin and Teagan's story was refreshing, captivating, emotional, and funny. A true fairytale ending! I loved the friendship that developed between Corbin and Teagan. Teagan led a somewhat isolated life, but was quickly accepted by Corbin's friends. I can't wait to read their stories! I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.

3.5 stars — This one started off really strong, and then somewhere along the way I started losing my enthrallment with it. It did pull me back in for the ending though. I started this one after midnight and stayed up late needing to read one more chapter, so it was very compelling to begin with. Part of that is that I just really enjoy Fake Relationship tropes…I don’t know what it is about them, but I always love seeing a couple slowly fall in love when forced to act in love I guess. And this one started off good in that direction, but it didn’t completely follow the formula…which can be a good thing, mix it up right? But along with a few things that ended up bugging me, I guess I needed more familiarity in the formula or something.

Both Corbin (and I can’t help but say Korben Dallas every time) and Teagan started off as extremely likable characters. I felt for both of them, when they met they were both struggling with shiznit, kwim? I mean Corbin had just lost his grandma, and was floundering in grief and then the complication of her will stipulations on top of that. And Teagan was dealing with the loss of her job and then her cheating boyfriend. I was really pulled in by both of them, and they were very sympathetic characters. And I loved the way they met, and how their first interaction went. I loved that Teagan was both enthralled by Corbin, but her star-struckedness didn’t make her naive and silly…she was still skeptical of his proposal and relatively safe about it…though I suppose in the end she does still go with him out of the city. But regardless, I appreciated her almost down-to-earth-ness.

But I think it was Corbin’s temper and mood swings (which are fully acknowledged) that started my descent into less enthrallment. I know Teagan called him out for being a dick, and eventually he apologized, but the problem is that I didn’t understand what brought on these mood changes. We typically weren’t in his POV when they happened, and although we get a bit of an impression that he’s concerned about his attraction to her when he’d wanted to keep it business, that just wasn’t enough of an explanation for me. And that kept happening again and again…it got a little frustrating. Add in his family drama that was initially hinted at, and later explained, and I think I just wasn’t always understanding what his motivations were.

And while I know I was reading an ARC, and there very well could be another editing/proofing pass before publication, I found myself stumbling over sentence structure on occasion (meaning I would have to go back to the beginning of the sentence to remember what the sentence was about). And not only that, but sometimes I just didn’t understand what was being said. Maybe I was tired? But as with not getting Corbin’s motivations for his moods, there were other little things that happened in the story that I just didn’t follow…

One final thing, this one had quite a bit of drama that centered on them not talking to each other and making assumptions about the others feelings. While this is to be expected a bit with two strangers, it stretched on WAY longer than I personally like. I just got frustrated with them and wanted to roll my eyes. However, I really appreciated the way the ending played out…there were hurt feelings and overreactions on all sides, but unlike the rest of the book, they didn’t last too long.

OK, back to the good stuff! Teagan was kind of adorable. I loved her ambitions, and would have loved to see more of her interacting with horses since it was her passion. And obviously I loved her love of books… 😛 And she had a bit of sass to her that made me smirk, and I loved the way she was always herself. I also appreciated how she dealt with Drake. And when Corbin wasn’t being a dick, he was kind of adorable too. I loved how passionate he was about his work as well, and I loved his memories of his grandparents.

And their chemistry started off a bit slower for me, but when it heated up, hoo boy did it heat up. Steamy scenes — two thumbs up!

I’m also pretty intrigued by Corbin’s friends, Trey and Caitlin…I sense stories there. I loved how they interacted with Corbin and tried to keep him on a good path.

So yeah. A bit of a mixed bag. Lots of good, but lost a half star in the middle with all the drama drama… If it wasn’t for the strong beginning and end, I probably would have rounded down instead of up.

Interesting Marriage of Convenience story

I really love Stacey Lynn's books. A big part is because of her great character and relationship building. Teagan and Corbin have a unique "first meet". It was fun to follow their journey that moved from initial lust to love. I also enjoyed the secondary character Caitlan and Trey. Would love to read their stories.
I received an advance reader copy in exchange for a fair review.

Heartwarming, sweet and sexy love story

The fake relationship is one of my favorite tropes, and Stacey Lynn does not disappoint in The Fake Wife. Ms Lynn takes the contrived arrangement and brands it her own with her trademark style of storytelling. Expect heartaches, a myriad buffet of emotions, irresistible dialogue and endearing characters.
Corbin Lane needs a wife within six months of his grandmother, Eleanor’s will. She’s bequeathed her beloved house and property on Cannon Bluffs to Corbin, but only if he falls in love and marries. While the public sees him as a playboy with a trust fund and the heir to the Lane Holdings fortune, there is more to Corbin. He keeps his true self hidden and secret, especially from his greedy and ruthless father. He won’t let his father destroy the only home he’s ever known, and the house his grandmother raised him in. But happenstance creates opportunity when his car is rear-ended by Teagan Monroe.
Teagan has just survived one hellacious morning. Fired from a job, catching her cheating boyfriend and now, homeless with all her stuff in the back of her car, Teagan is an emotional wreck when she smashes into Corbin. Seeing this beautiful, distraught woman, Corbin launches into a plan that will benefit both of them; he gets his cherished childhood home and Teagan gets a future she has dreamt about. From this point the story unfolds wonderfully into a whirlwind love story. Teagan and Corbin at first have lots of hurdles, namely trust and a growing attraction. But as they spend time together, they can’t deny the growing attraction between them. There is a delightful buildup and sizzling chemistry. Neither Corbin or Teagan expect to fall hard for each other. But can they be sure what their hearts feel is not pretend, but the real thing?
One of my favorite lines that just made me melt, “I don’t want to take anything from you you’re not willing to give, and this isn’t pretend...Everything I’m feeling for you right now is more real than anything I’ve ever felt.” *sigh*
Fake Wife has the perfect blend of constant push and pull of attraction, and all the feels woven into this fake relationship that blossoms into a true romance. It’s a love story with humor, parts will make you ugly cry, but your heart will leap with such a wonderful ending, and a sigh-worthy epilogue. I highly recommend this story for all romance readers. Wonderful job, Ms Lynn. I received an advance reader copy from Random House Publishing Group - Loveswept via NetGalley and voluntarily reviewed it.

I couldn’t put it down!!! I’m a fan of the fake relationship trope and this one was one of the best that I’ve read in a while. I loved Corbin and Teagan and how their relationship developed. I particularly enjoyed the fact that is was a slow burn when it could have very easily turned physical early on - it made the whole story more genuine and emotional. Stacey Lynn is swiftly becoming a “must read” author for me! 4 out of 5 wine glasses.
