Tegan Monroe is having the day from hell, lost her job, caught her boyfriend of seven years cheating on her and now the final straw is to rear end rich playboy Corbin Lane, could this day get any crazier!! She is about to find out just how crazy her life has become when Corbin who is also having a bad day offers her a way out of her troubles, become his Fake Wife for two years.... what starts of as a contract turns into so much more but Corbin knows nothing about love and romance and Tegan has been burnt once will she ever trust again. I love Tegan and Corbin and I loved their story but it is very much a story about instant love so if that’s not your thing maybe this isn’t the book for you. Once again this author has given me a book that captivated and consumed me, it was read in one sitting.
This was such a fun romance! Corbin isn't like his public persona; he'd much rather live a quiet life getting his hands dirty with his own business. But, to inherit his grandmother's property he has to be married. Enter Teagan - a gal who is having the worst day of her life, up to and including rear-ending the car being driven by her celebrity crush, a man who suggests that she rectify the mishap by agreeing to marry him.
What follows is a sweet and at times hilarious love story with a deep emotional base. Both Corbin and Teagan have their own private insecurities that hamper their growing attraction to each other. The fun is in the exquisite details, the little notes here and there that bring these characters to life and elevate this above the average fake-marriage romance. There's just enough drama to bring out all the hidden feelings, and the ending is a true winner. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book through NetGalley.
I love love love a fast paced romantic storyline that grabs and holds my attention throughout the whole book! Stacey Lynn wrote that storyline with Fake Wife!
The journey of Corbin and Teagan was #AMAZBALLS! I love how their story is so unrealistic and completely unconventional yet it is so perfect. These amazing aspects that Stacey infuses into her story made me glued to my kindle! Then Stacey added some "bumps" to the road which added another layer of substance and awesomeness!
If you are looking for a quick, entertaining and romantic book one click Fake Wife by Stacey Lynn!
This book was unexpectedly delightful!
"REAL. PLEASE, LET THIS STAY REAL."
Something that starts out as an arrangement very quickly becomes something real and substantial. I'm usually not a huge fan of insta-love and everything in this story took place in a very short time, but it was lovely and romantic and entertaining! Corbin is so sweet and he falls for Teagan almost immediately. She tries to protect her heart, but they can't deny their attraction. He makes her life seem amazing, but can it possibly be real?
"He makes me forget everything bad and ugly in my life and I love him for it."
For under 200 pages, it was very well done!
Some things are meant to be...Like Losing your job or finding out want a pig your supposed boyfriend is... I mean seeing him bear ass with someone else in our bed... Yeah, not cool.
So of course it was meant to be that I would try to run off the rode the most perfect guy ever...
But there seems to be a reason for all of this... because he takes one look at me and decides I am his perfect fake wife...
What a cute idea and Stacey Lynn takes this and goes to town with it.
I loved everything about this book from beginning to end. Teagan learning to love and trust again was the highlight of my reading. Stacey put much thought into this book and made lovers and friends out of unlikely pairs.
Teagan and Corbin were two opposites that attracted right away. If both of their bad days hadn't sucked so bad, they would have never crossed paths. This book started out grabbing my attention and left me wanting to see more into their futures. Loved it!
Fake Wife is not what I expected. It was so much better! I thought it would be more of a cut and dry “Here is a contract for you to sign….” But it was not. The story was sweet and easy. It had a nice flow. The characters were relatable.
Corbin Lane, playboy and richest man in Portland. Voted Time magazine’s sexiest man alive three years in a row. He is charming and handsome but has no desire to get married.
Corbin has just lost the one person in the world who means the most to him, his grandmother. Corbin is heir to the Lane Holdings fortune. He doesn’t want or need that money. He wants his grandmother's home. A home filled with wonderful memories. Her home, Cannon Bluffs, is an estate with land. It means the world to him.
So, the will is read. Of course the home is left for Corbin but with one catch….Corbin has to find a woman, fall in love, and get married within six months from the date of the will. The marriage has to last for two full years and then he can claim ownership of Cannon Bluffs. Corbin’s dad also wants that property so he can turn it into a shopping mall.
Teagan Monroe is having a bad day. She was laid off from her job then comes home to find her boyfriend cheating on her. She packs her stuff and heads out trying to think of a place to go when suddenly she rear ends Corbin Lane. They have a connection between them and Corbin has an idea. He asks Teagan to marry him so that he can fulfill his grandmother’s will and he will compensate her monetarily.
Agreement. Business. No emotions. We can become friends, but that’s as far as it can go.
Sounds simple. A business decision. A fresh start for Teagan. But things are never that simple. There is a push and pull between Corbin and Teagan. They have chemistry. A connection. I loved their banter together.
Teagan is sweet, honest and giving. She has dreams that she wants to pursue. Corbin is surprised at how “normal” she is. She also calls him out when he is being a jerk. Corbin is used to rich socialites that only want his money. He is afraid to get close to anyone. His dad did not set a good example of what marriage is. They both have trust issues to overcome and they each question if the other is having “real” feelings or not.
The story is sweet, slow and romantic. It just left you feeling good. There were a few twists but nothing that was super angsty. I enjoyed the story and would definitely read about Corbin’s friends Trey and Caitlin. They are part of the story but I have a feeling there is more under the surface with them.
So simple and pure. Easy and complex.
The kind of woman I never thought I’d like and now I can’t get enough of.
How have not read this book yet? It has been sitting on my Kindle for awhile now and tonight I opened up the book and did not do anything except read it to the end! Stacey Lynn has captured my heart with her previous stories, and Fake Wife seals the deal.
Why is this book a raving 5 stars for me? Because I can not get Teagan and Corbin out of my head! Poor Reagan having to deal with so much shit for one day, and runs into Corbin. He is like a tornado and will have your life turned upside down in 2.5 seconds! Okay well that is how long he had me spelled bound...what can I say? I am a sucker for over confident alpha males. Any who, I came into this book thinking it was the typical "Fake Wife" trope and boy did Stacey prove me wrong! I wanted to knock out Teagan's ex teeth with his sorry lame ass excuses. I wanted to knock Corbin over the head a couple of time when he was over reacting. I wanted to tell Teagan there is truth to love at first sight!
Fake Wife had me on the edge a few times. The sexy scenes were hot and intense. I was blushing like a bride when it was all said and done <---- See what I did there lol. I love Stacey's books because she puts the "real" in her stories. I am so glad I got to read another great novel by this author that I will think about for days to come!!
Corbin is your typical trust fund playboy, but when his grandmother dies, she puts a stipulation on his inheritance that he won't receive unless he falls in love and gets married and stays married for at least 2 years. So now he has to find himself a fake fiancee who will become his fake wife and make everyone believe it's true love. Teagan has had the worst day of her life ... first she looses her job at the library and then she goes home to find her boyfriend of 7 years in bed with some blond bimbo. Then she packs everything she owns in her car and takes off ... only to rear end a Mercedes. She can't believe that not only does the guy not yell at her, he makes her a proposition that she can't refuse. Then the antics begin with them trying to make everyone believe that they are really in love and it's not because of Corbin's inheritance.
This is a sweet romance that will make you laugh and swoon. Even though Corbin is you typical spoiled rich playboy, you soon find out he has a heart of gold. And Teagan has a sweet sole who just wants to help disabled children. A nice light read to cheer you up.
I received an ARC copy courtesy of Random House - Loveswept through NetGalley in exchange for a honest review.
Teagan’s day started awful and it’s only going to get worse. First she was laid off from her job at the library, due to cut backs. Then when she goes home in the middle of the day, she catches her boyfriend in bed with someone else. As she packs her clothes in a suitcase, and takes off, she gets into a car accident with Portland’s most eligible bachelor. See, worst day ever! Confronting him and apologizing, Teagan wonders how she’s going to pay for the damages. However, he’s not yelling at her, Corbin Lane is more concerned about her than his car. When he recommends they pull over and go to the nearby coffee house, Teagan can’t imagine things are going to go well.
Corbin is currently mad at the world. He just buried his beloved grandmother that raised him, and then he was told the contents of her will. In order to get her home, he has to marry in six months and stay married for two years, otherwise, everything goes to his father. He doesn’t care about the money, but he can’t let his father take the home he grew up in and turn it into a mall. He needs to find a fake wife and fast. When he is rear-ended by Teagan, he sees it as a sign. She’s gorgeous and so honest that he makes her a proposition that he hopes she won’t refuse.
Teagan has never been one to jump at any decision, however, she’s unemployed, homeless and broke, so she seriously considers Corbin’s offer. The last thing she expected was to start having feelings for him.
This was a story well told with lots of sexy moments and swooning. I highly recommend this book.
I've been waiting for this book since the summer so I was super excited to dive in.
I'll admit, it took me a few chapters to fully get on board with these two. While I liked them as individuals (they are such genuine people), I was worried their connection was only skin-deep initially. But as they spent more time together, I was rewarded with what I love the most about fake relationship stories: a fantastic connection between two unlikely people.
Despite the quick nature of the story, I really could feel the strength of feelings they shared. They had this comfort with each other that just amplified the longer they spent time together. And seeing as they are just great individual characters, it was awesome to see them come closer the more they learned about each other. They complement each other so well so I adored their story together.
I also liked that the plot wasn't overly dramatic or too over the top. It has it's dramatic moments for sure but it all just worked for this story. You don't have these unnecessary scenarios thrown at them simply for the sake of stirring up drama. These two had real problems to work out and I loved watching them do that with each other. It was nice to read a story that focused on the romance and keeping the drama simple but effective for their journey.
The romance, as I said, started a little rough for me but by the end, I was completely infatuated with them. They have this great sexual tension between them that continues to build as the story progresses.
This is a great contemporary romance that fans of the "fake relationship trope" will no doubt devour!
I am a fan of the marriage of convenience to falling in love troupe! Fake Wife fits that bill nicely! It was an interesting story and totally believable!
Corbin is a wealthy guy and a confirmed bachelor. When his grandma dies, she leaves him her estate. He's always loved her house as it was the only place he felt at home in. But in order to keep it, his grandma made the provision he needs to be married. If he doesn't, the estate falls to his father, who is all too happy to raze the place and make it into a mall. Corbin can not let that happen, but where will he find someone who is wife material when he has never dated anyone beyond a single night??
Teagan is having the day from hell! She loses her job due to budget cuts. Once she returns home, she finds her boyfriend "enjoying" someone else's company! She packed up all she owns into her car, and heads out not sure of what she will do next. Deep in thought, Teagan smashes her car into the rear end of Corbin's car at a stoplight. Teagan recognizes him as Portland's sexiest bachelor-and knows he's wealthy beyond belief. Can her day get any worse? Corbin doesn't seem to be all that mad at her though. He offers her to sit down with him, have dinner, and talk. During that talk, Corbin makes a brash move and offers Teagan a deal she would be stupid to turn down. She would marry him, stay for two years, and collect enough money to make all her dreams come true. No sex, no feelings, just play the part until her payday. Only things get mucked up big time when they fall for each other!
Corbin and Teagan are good together! I liked their dynamic. Both were sentimental people and wore their hearts on their sleeves. I was rooting for them to find their happy medium and make it work. Stacey Lynn does a great job of making me feel all their ups and downs. Even though you know how it will end, the journey was an enjoyable ride and a book that I wholeheartedly recommend!

This book was gifted to me and I chose to leave a voluntary review. The review and ratings are solely my opinions.
4.25 'Hold onto your dreams' Stars!
This story is exactly what my book-loving heart was craving.
It was a quick and sweet read that kept me completely entertained from start to finish.
Teagan and Corbin are both having quite a terrible day, to say the least. But that all changes when they crash into each other...literally. Teagan rear-ended his car and what seems like another crappy thing to add to an already crappy day, might just end up changing their lives forever.
Corbin Lane is one of the wealthiest playboys in the city. At least that's what all the gossip magazines make him out to be. The world doesn't get to see the passionate, generous side of him. And I loved how Teagan's genuine kind and beautiful heart was able to slowly peel back the layers and had him opening up to her.
The sexy banter and obvious attraction they felt for one another had me on the edge, just wanting them to give in.
Oh, but when they finally do come to their senses, it's just the most satisfying thing!
Fake Wife is a sexy, fast-paced romance which is sure to deliver on ALL the feels!
Corbin and Teagan meet unexpectedly and very quickly decide to be in a “fake” relationship to help him receive money that was promised to him in his grandmothers will ( if he gets married by a certain time) and she will get paid in return as well. Of course, their fake relationship doesn’t feel so fake for either of them. They start to fall for each other. This was a great, steamy romance novel with characters you will love.
I absolutely adored this fast paced romance book. It captured my attention from beginning to end.
Teagan has a shit day and I mean a shitastic day and it ends in the most awkward and maybe bizarre way when she rear ends the back of Corbin’s car.
What happens from there had me devouring this book whole. I loved their journey and as unconventional and maybe to some unrealistic it may be I was completely engaged in this book.
I loved the moments with the two of them and sometimes I think fate has a funny way of making the most impossible things happen. This book really captured that for me.
It isn’t smooth sailing and oh we “bumped” into each when life handed us a bag of shit and lived blissfully ever after. There were definitely moments of doubt and ups and downs. But the connection these two had with one another was definitely something I felt.
Both from different worlds but had the same dreams and it made me all giddy.
It’s definitely a book I would recommend if you are looking for a quick read that will hit all your romance requirements.
This is my first book by Stacey Lynn and I am kicking myself for reading her sooner. I really enjoyed this book and once I started I couldn’t put it down. This was the perfect mix of romance and learning to trust someone.
Corbin has just lost one of the most important people to him, his grandma. Now that she is gone he is worried about what will happen to her house. Her house is the only place that ever felt like home to Corbin. He is worried what will happen if his dad gets his hands on the house and the property.
When his grandma’s will is read Corbin finds out there is a stipulation with getting the house. He has to be married for two years. In the circles he runs in he can’t think of anyone he would want to be married to. All of that changes when he get rear-ended.
Teagan has had the worst day of her life and doesn’t think it can get any worse. Wrong, she ends up rear-ending someone. A man who is gorgeous and out of her league. She had no idea that day would change her life for the better.
This book had the perfect amount of romance and steam. I loved the characters and the secondary characters so much. I can’t wait to read another book by this author.
Oh this book! It was amazing. Who knew a series of unfortunate events would lead to finding the love of your life in the most unexpected way! I really enjoyed Corbin's character as this story progressed. His discovery of love but also how much he was grounded regardless of his upbringing. He is a big jaded with everything that had happened with his family's turmoil. His only saving grace is is grandma and boy does she send him for a ringer! Then you have Teagan who comes up on his blind side or rear-side? But the chemistry off of these two was brilliant and the side characters added so much depth to it as well. Overall, LOVED this book!
The reading of the will for Corbin's grandmother was not what he was expecting. Get married within 6 months, stay married for 2 years and he will receive the house and land that he has always loved. If he doesn't, it all goes to his father. That is the last thing Corbin wants because he knows his father will sell the property to be torn down and parceled out.
Teagan has had one of the worst days of her life. She gets laid off from her job, only to come home early and find her long time fiancee in bed with another woman. She packs her car up with everything she owns and takes off. Next thing she knows, she rear ends a Mercedes. Instead of the irate rich guy she expects, she meets Corbin who is more concerned about her than his car. Corbin realizes right away that Teagan may be in the right position to help him with his grandmothers will.
This was exactly what I needed after finishing a really heavy read. I'm a fan of the fake relationship trope and this was a pretty sweet, low to mid angst read. There is some conflict with these two starting out in a fake relationship but the author kept it to the minimum, which I really liked about the story. Both characters are very likable and I enjoyed watching these two dance around the instant attraction they have for each other.
This was a fun read! ARC provided by Netgalley.
I really tried to invest in this one - but unfortunately it just never hooked me. It seems like the book I should have immediately lost myself in. I liked that it was relatively low angst. I liked how feisty Teagan was, and how she didn't let Corbin treat her poorly. However, I didn't particularly care for Corbin and honestly he struck me as weak and whiney more than anything. I lost patience with him around the 60% mark and wound up DNFing at 63%. Unfortunately, this one just wasn't for me.
