You can never go wrong with a novella from one of your favorite paranormal couples and D.B Reynolds does not fail, delivering an exciting, sexy and swoony installment of Vampires in America.

Several months have passed since the attempt on Raphael by the French vampire Mathilde was thwart, but that doesn’t mean the European vampires have kept to their side of the world, leaving Raphael and the North American vampire Lords no other choice but to bring the battle to them. And with a new wave of attacks particularly directed at Raphael’s vampires and himself, he and his beloved Cyn will show their enemies there is no room for treachery.

This new episode in Cyn and Raphael’s lives reminds us of the incredible bond between them. I LOVE reading about this couple whose love is as deep as it is eternal with a chemistry that heats up the pages and partnership that kicks @ss every time.

D.B. Reynolds packs a big punch in this short story and includes an introduction to the next sexy vampire we’ll be reading about in the series. I can’t wait!

Relentless is novella #11.5 of the Vampires in America series by D.B. Reynolds. It is a paranormal romance novella told from both points of view with a happy ending.

I'm a huge fan of the series and every time a book comes out, I jump on it and devour it all up! This time, it took me a while to get through the story. I was hoping for something new and exciting and it felt like it was the same story repeated with different places and different enemies. I wasn't able to get into the story and I ended up setting the book down several times until I couldn't pick it up again.

The story was well-written and the author is obviously talented, RELENTLESS just wasn't a book for me.

If someone told me back in 2011 when I first fell in love with Raphael and Cyn that 6 years later I would still be in love and impatiently waiting for Ms. Reynolds to give me any glimpse into their lives I probably would have not believed them thinking my taste would have probably changed in that time. But it has happened and I'm still in love with this couple after all these years. So now to this novella. Those darn European vampires just don't know when to give up. They still haven't figured out that starting trouble with the North American vampires is just not a good idea. So what do they do they attack Raphael, hello not a good idea. Raphael continues to be the strongest but a display in this novella shows that his power continues to grow. Cyn is still her badass self and even though Raphael can destroy with just a thought her desire to keep him safe is still one of her most endearing characteristics. I loved the glimpse of how they plan on handling the war and I look forward to Quinn in Ireland.

I just love this series. Cyn and Raphael are just so damn cute together. I love when D.B. Reynolds writes these little short stories, anything that gives me more Cyn and Raphael time. In this book they are going after the European vampires that have been sending hit men to Raphael's home, and people. Raphael isn't going to sit around anymore while these power hunger vampires come after those he loves, he is taking the fight to them. Raphael and Cyn are just so bad ass and I love that they fight together. Relentless not only gave me happy time with one of my favorite vampire couples but it set up the next book in the series Quinn! When Quinn came on the scene I was totally intrigued. Sexy, powerful, smart and Irish I just can't wait to read Quinn's book.

Relentless is the latest novella from this outstanding vampire series by D. B. Reynolds. I just adore this world that this author has created and these novella’s are great because Raphael and Cyn are just a great fighting couple. I love how well they are together, they really are just right for each other. We see the ways that even though our hero, who is alpha male, doesn’t want his mate anywhere near danger, he always understands who she is and accepts her by his side “trying to protect him” and actually loves that about her even though he hates the idea of the risk of losing her. Cyn is very independent and is a fighter, and we see how fiercely protective she is of her “mate” and I love how well we see them grow in their relationship and how much they have grown especially with everything that has happened to them. The world in this book is growing from North America and we it extend toward Europe which is awesome. So I am excited to see where this author takes this series.

Relentless is a fun addition to this series that is full of thrills and excitement, intrigue and danger and some fun sexy times too!!! This is definitely my “cup of tea”.

D.B. Reynolds has created a world of powerful and violent vampires with well developed, fascinating characters. This isn't a stand alone book but for fans of the series you won't want to miss this book and if you haven't started pick up book one at get started!

Raphael and Cyn are both very strong and wonderful characters and I love when we get to read more about them throughout this series. This novella takes place right after the death of Mathilde.
One of her children has appointed himself the Lord of his territory and is seeking revenge against Raphael by attacking him and his vampires in his territory. Raphael who has already decided to take the war to Europe decides that this would be the perfect time for a diversion so that Quinn, a vampire the other vampire lords in the North American alliance can get into Ireland unnoticed. He and Cyn along with a contingent of his vampires go to France to destroy Mathilde's vampires once and for all. This book highlights and ramps up the problems between the European vampires and the North American vampires and provides a nice setup for the next book which will feature Quinn.

This short book was full of action, violence, excitement and of course hot sex between Raphael and Cyn. A lot happened in a very few amount of pages and I thoroughly enjoyed this novella. I'm looking forward to reading Quinn!

Smokin’ Hot! Cyn & Raphael is once again heating up the pages while shaking up the vampire population. I can never get enough of Cyn & Raphael, these characters easily pull readers into their lives and get you hooked because not only is there never a dull moment, but readers get some red hot sex scenes that have me melting into a puddle as I read them. The action scenes are just as intense and thrilling as the sex scenes are hot which keeps readers glued to every page.

I love how the author keeps giving readers these shorter novellas in between the main books of the series, not only because it allows me to keep in touch with Cyn & Raphael but it always ties things up nice and neat, connecting things that you might not have connected before. My only complaint is I really hate putting the books down and having to wait for the next one, which I am sitting on pins and needles waiting for, Quinn needs to hurry up on his take-over of Ireland, so I can get to reading his book.

As a novella, this book certainly over delivers! There is enough drama, intrigue, and romance to be a full-length novel and then some.

We join the North American vampire gang as they continue to battle against the Europeans. While a full scale war is not yet in effect, there have been so many small battles they are essentially there. Raphael has finally reached his breaking point. We get to watch Cyn be her usual awesome self, Raphael go into super vampire mode, and everyone else die. If you’re looking for a truly great “novella” that should most certainly be read in order of the series, this is a stand out book. While this is definitely a Cyn/Raphael book, we get hints of Quinn’s story and how things will eventually take shape in Europe.

Cyn and Raphael are back a novella from D.B. Reynolds’ Vampires In America, #11.5 in the series. The European vampires have been a continual burr under Raphael’s saddle. Even after he took out Mathilde from France after her aggressive assault, they continue to attack his people, especially his mate, Cynthia. Cyn is a deadly and often underestimated force in her own right, but Raphael decides it is time to take the war to Europe because they have been relentless in the goal to take over America and harm her. As usual with vampire politics, any operation takes careful planning with multilayered plotting and maneuvering. While Raphael’s instinct is to protect Cyn from all dangers, he knows she will never stay behind in a fight.

This story introduces Quinn Kavanagh who is set as the main character for the next novel. He is an important player in the preemptive strike being set up for Paris. Quinn’s Irish roots and power level make him a good choice to take over Ireland from the currently less than popular vampire lord. This action will give Raphael and his allies a foothold near the continent for the long game they are preparing to play.

Cyn and Raphael make a good team not in only in battle, but most importantly, the vampire equivalent of marriage. While Cyn relishes all the bloodthirsty fun and games, her love for and devotion to Raphael are her driving force. Romance, guns big and small, and high vampire drama with the kickoff to the new battlefield to teach those pesky euro vamps who the real boss is give new meaning to never a dull moment in Cyn and Raphael’s world.

I have read all the previous books in this series and have been waiting impatiently for the next books ........... especially those featuring Cyn and Raphael .
This is a great precursor to the epic battle looming in Europe .... and sets the scene for the coming battles against the European Vampires .

After the defeat of Matthilde some months ago which nearly ended in his death , Raphael's fury against the European vampires has grown more strongly by the day . Mathilde's 'child' Laurent has taken her place and seeks to increase his power base by seeking to snipe away at Raphael's defenses
Now after more attacks against Cyn and his vampires Raphael is determined to sit back no more and decides to take the fight to Europe .
Raphael needs a diversion and picks Quinn to travel to Ireland to set up a base for future attacks ........ whilst he travels openly with Cyn to Paris to confront Laurent and his backers .

A much enjoyed novella .... it was too short , I wanted more ....but will wait impatiently for the next in the series . The Author manages to keep the reader engaged both with characters loves and lives whilst expanding the story .

I’ve enjoyed all the stories in this series, but I must admit that the ones featuring Cyn and Raphael are my favorites. This novella continues the storyline of the building fight between the American and the European vampires and takes place soon after Mathilde’s failed attack on Raphael. Back in France, her scion Laurent has taken over her territory and plots revenge against Raphael for his sire’s death. Needless to say, Raphael does not tolerate attacks on his people, especially underhanded sneaky ones, and Cyn will of course demand to be in the thick of things.

The action takes place in the US and France. (One minor nit: Raphael’s entourage lands in Paris and Cyn enjoys some sights there. But Laurent’s lair, where an eventual showdown takes place, supposedly is in Nice, in an entirely different part of the country. Yet there is no travel time noted for Raphael, as if they merely were going to a Parisian suburb.) Cyn and Raphael have multiple opportunities to be badass and to have some steamy private encounters, both of which Reynolds does very well and which are highlights of this series.

We get some facetime with a few of Raphael’s allies, including Lucas and his mate Katherine, and are introduced to Quinn who, with the backing of the American vampires, plans to take over Ireland. This will provide a foothold for the American vampires in their escalating war with the Europeans and will no doubt be the subject for the next novel in the series. I really liked what I saw so far with Quinn. He’s powerful, of course, but also quite smart and loyal, an appealing combination. His story, like all the books in this series, will jump to the top of my TBR mountain when it is released.

Thanks to Netgalley for giving me this novella in exchange for an honest review.

D.B. Reynolds never disappoints...never and here again in one of her famous vignettes she knocks it out of the park. Action, sexytimes, hawt new vamp and a huge tease for her forthcoming full length novel but out of all this she moves her storyline ahead gives insight to characters and story arc.

Raphael and Cyn are favorite all time characters of mine and I love to get further peaks into their story and their part of the ViA world. These characters keep growing and becoming more and more interesting. In this vignette I think we get more of a look at Raphael's character and what makes him so powerful.

What I love about DBR's vignettes is that you don't HAVE to read them to enjoy the series but if you do you feel you have more background going into the next novel and her characters. Love the novella and if you are a fan of the series as I am you don't want to miss this ...5 stars and a big I CAN'T WAIT for Quinn...is he here yet? now? NOW?

Thank you for the opportunity to read this book. I have read this series from the beginning and absolutely loved the first three books. DB Reynold’s has a winning recipe with these books..a dominant Lord meets his Mate, there usually is a Power struggle resulting in the death of a rival Lord (who is admittedly evil), and there is lots of hot sex. However, the repetition grows stale for me. ALL the books are the same. I don’t fault the author—if people love the books, why change a winning formula? But I long for a bit of originality. I will continue to buy this series, I love the so much and every time I pick up a new one (or am gifted with an advance copy), I hope for the magic of the earlier novels. 3.5 stars

This Raphael and Cyn novella is a MUST read!! This novella picks up after the death of Mathilde and Laurent, a child of Mathilde’s appoints himself as Lord of her territory and seeks revenge for her death against Raphael. Naturally Raphael retaliates and seeks vengeance by taking his fight and his vampires to France to put a stop to Laurent’s reign over Mathilde’s vampires and territory. The situation with the European vampires is heating up!!

There was secondary plot and we’re introduced to Quinn, who was selected and approved by the Council (meaning Raphael) to challenge the current Lord of Ireland to rule the territory of Ireland, which will give Raphael a power base in Europe. This was a short novella that packed a powerful punch and set the stage for Quinn, the next ViA book. I.CAN'T.WAIT.!!!

As always these Raphael and Cyn novellas expand the world we love and set up the next in the series so I always say they are must reads for series readers...though few need the reaffirmation bc we all love our Lord over the other Lords!! In typical fashion we get some plot movement, intensely hot moments between our leads, we get to see the tender not often displayed sides to them as well, along with a battle and blood! I’m beyond ready for Quinn’s story now.

Relentless, Vampires in America, A Cyn and Raphael Novella Book 11.5, D.B. Reynolds
Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews
Genre: sci-fi and fantasy, Romance

I've been following this series since the start, and where some get stale after a while this one keeps fresh and exciting.
The main stories about individual characters mainly focus on romance, within a tight and suspenseful story, building on the overall theme for the series. these novellas tend to either show insights into characters, give us a bit of a lighter adventure with them, or push the ever present threat from others forward. this one focuses on the threat from Europe and the backlash from killing Mathilde.
I don't often read novellas, except when like this one they are part of an existing series, this way  the reader knows the characters, there's no backstory needed so the words are solely focused on delivering an new adventure.

While the past main books have focused on America, there's been a threat from Europe from early on. America being vast compared to Europe, and the European vampires feeling pressed for space, they've been looking at American with envy, and a few have planned inroads into the territory.
Raphael saw that coming a long way back, and thus began his unheard of in Vampire world collaborations with neighbours. He saw that to protect themselves they needed strong Lords holding each area, and that if they were allies that would protect them better. He began working towards that, encouraging some of his Children, and other vampires he knew were strong enough to take over weaker areas.

He's not a power hungry guy, he is a power in his own right, but uses that to protect his people, and where he'd be happy left to his own area the threats from weaker lords, and posed by Europe have determined that he take action. Of course that hasn't gone unnoticed, or without jealous and offended eyes. He's always going to attract envy, always going to be under threat and he feels the best defence is to take the action to the detractors.

That leads us to this book, where we meet Quinn, catch up with some of the other Lords, with Raphael  and Cyn of course, and his key team. Its another exciting adventure, packed into a short but solid novel and I'm hoping it means we get a Quinn story next ;-)

Stars: five, short but packed read, and a great addition to the overall story arc.

Raphael takes the war to Europe. Action packed short that introduces new characters. Retaliation at its finest in the world of vampires. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
