A light hearted fun story with a positive message. The characters were great and I found this an easy read.

This book was not for me. I did read it through to the end but is not one that I would recommend. I found the characters completely two dimensional and the plot was just plain daft. Sorry.

Unfortunately, I have not been able to read and review this book.

After losing and replacing my broken Kindle and getting a new phone I was unable to download the title again for review as it was no longer available on Netgalley.

I’m really sorry about this and hope that it won’t affect you allowing me to read and review your titles in the future.

Thank you so much for giving me this opportunity.
Natalie.

Melissa has made such a good job of organizing the estate agents office she works in, and making sure everything there runs smoothly, that they no longer have any need for her, and, when it merges with a big American firm, she's the first to be made redundant. After a close call with the 'wrong' sort of agency, she decides to set up her own, sorting out the lives and wardrobes of London's clueless, but rich, young men. Ditching her dull 'hockey-sticks' persona, she becomes glamorous Honey, the 'little lady' who'll make sure they know which knife and fork to use, provide a 'plus one' to weddings and family events, and help with your present buying problems - there are a million and one ways she can help a lazy, unorganised bachelor.
Then she meets Jonathan, part of the team who took over her former employers. He's new to London, caught in a messy divorce, wanting someone to organize his social schedule and provide a hostess for his parties - and suddenly Melissa's not sure where to draw the line between business and pleasure ...

Sometimes all we want from a book is something light-hearted and fun - and The Little Lady Agency is exactly that.

Don't look for deep character analysis, this is rom-com land. Melissa seems awfully naive for the public-schooled daughter of an MP who's had his share of sex scandals, and a lot of the characters seem so incredibly posh that they could have stepped straight out of a modern day Downton Abbey, but don't worry, take them at their face value, and enjoy the fun.

A lighthearted read, that was finished in literally two days. Left me feeling uplifted and positive too. Its a must read for people wanting to inject some feel good factor into their daily lives

This is a completely charming piece of brit-chick-lit, one of those stories about the rich side of society, with their extravagance and ecentricities making for an interesting story. I don't know what it is about posh girls and their crazy lives that I love so much, but it's a definite kink in my reading taste. I actually read this years ago as a paperback, and although it seemed somewhat familiar when I saw the blurb on netgalley, it wasn't until I started reading it that I realised I had read (and enjoyed) it before. The only problem is that I don't know if I want to read any of the other books in the series - I like my romance to be a little hazy in the future, so I can imagine that happily ever after, and I'm not sure it's going to exist if I keep reading.

A very hilarious and fresh novel. The book starts with Melissa with her self-pity and ends with Melissa pulling out other people from pitiful conditions. She is a young lady, who though is prone to insecurities about her body rises to the call of the occasion and proves herself worthy. She starts an agency of her own in which she acts as a friend / fake girlfriend/ shopper/adviser to people in need and this creates many funny dialogues and instances. She also met Jonathan through her agency and their spark is difficult to miss. The other characters in this book are worth mentioning and they leave quiet an impact on the reader. The dialogues are intelligent and funny and I very much enjoyed the interactions between Melissa and her roommate Nelson. This book makes a very enjoyable read and I recommend it whole-heartedly to all the other book lovers.

A lovely lighthearted read. It made me laugh out loud in places. I enjoyed the characters and their relationships.

The writing and plot flowed along smoothly. Melissa the main character is lovable but flawed. I was rooting for her throughout the book. A story of self discovery.

Perfect chic lit book - ideal for a holiday read or a rainy afternoon on the sofa.

Hilarious, charming and original.

I thoroughly enjoyed the premise of this story and really came to connect with Melissa - shy and unassuming and (let's be honest) a total pushover. I loved seeing her come into her own as Honey, and though she saw them as two separate people it was lovely to watch her grow and become such a vivacious, confident character.

A large factor of my love for this book was also that Melissa did not have to use sex to establish herself or her business, but instead used her intelligence and business savvy mind to create something to be proud of.

The characters in the book were easily relatable and likeable (bar her awful father, though Hester Browne does a fantastic job of making him such an unlikable character)

All in all, an easy read that will make you laugh and root for the heroine.

I will definitely be purchasing the other books in the series.

I loved the premise (wasn't so keen on the title) and both the story and the quality of writing lived up to it.

It was funny right the way through and I read it all with a smile on my face. Who can resist lines like "...the secret of a long and happy marriage was a large house" (said by Melissa's grandmother). There are days when I wish mine was a Tardis!!

My only slight niggle in what was an otherwise charming story, was that I felt the ending wasn't quite as nicely wrapped up as I was hoping.

When Mel is made redundant from her job at the estate agents she finds herself at a crossroads in her life, not wanting to get another job doing the same old thing she decides to work as an escort..... how hard can it be going out to dinner and making conversation with lonely men!

A great book, full of humour and fun perfect for real chick lit fans

Loved this book - I had read others in the series but not this first one so it was nice to find out the beginning of the story! Now I have to go and read the rest of them though!
An enjoyable read with a selection of characters, some more likeable than others, and a slightly chaotic family - makes you wonder how Mel seems so normal!

Set in England and superbly atmospheric.
What a lovely, charming and original book.
I couldn't put it down, Melissa was fab and truly a role model for all women but the other characters were very likeable too.
The writing and the plot flowed smoothly and was very easy to read, quite humerous too and ending perfectly.
I will definitely read more by Hester Browne.

This was a really good easy read story that kept me interested from the start.

Mel is made redundant from her estate agent firm, Mel having been employed to sort out or reorganise the office (which she had done), then when her firm is merged with an American company Mel is without a job. She really didn't want to go back reorganising another office to then being given the push again!!

So what could she do for herself??

This is Mel's story of how she finds herself and a coming off age story.

Well written with a great mix of characters that keep you interested in the story.

This books a bit of a typical chick-lit with the main character being off men for whatever reasons but I really enjoyed it. I found it had some laugh out loud moments as well as having some heart. I’m looking forward to trying the rest of the series I hope there as good
