I've really enjoyed previous books from this author. I found this book had less humour than earlier titles. The central relationship didn't develop enough for me.
Renny is on the run from an unwanted stalker. She's trying her best to the haven of Alpha (Alphaville). It's suppose to be a sanctuary for shifters who are on the run or just need help in some way. She doesn't quite make it to town but, fortunately for her, she ends up in the yard belonging to Mick, a wolf shifter who's hiding out and dealing (or maybe not) with the losses in his life. He's not sure he wants Renny in his life but Fate may have other plans for them.
I loved this first "full" book in this new series from Christine Warren. I thought it was interesting. I loved the characters, not just Mick and Renny, but everyone in the whole town, the storyline, and the heat level. It reminded me of why I used to devour the writers The Others series (and made me want to go back and re-read them all). I have actually re-read this book twice now...and thinking about reading it again.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley
This book was really good! I haven't read a paranormal/werewolf story for a few years and I have never read a story by this author so it was surprising how fast I got into the story. The male was protective but learned not to go too far. Can't wait for the next one.
I really liked the first read in this new shifter series. Renny is on the run and heads to Alphaville in hopes of hiding out. Mick lives in Alphaville still coping with the grief he has for his murdered mate. Renny makes it to Alphaville but is injured when she awakes Mick is there along with Molly, Zeke and Jager. They agree to help her but as they grow closer and even though they fight it Mick and Renny are mates. Can Mick protect her? This is a fast paced read with great characters, steamy chemistry and plenty of drama and suspense. I was hooked from beginning to end. Looking forward to more in the series.
A bigot who gets his comeuppance.
A stalker who is gets what he deserves and two shifters who get their HEA
Remmy is a red wolf shifter/librarian who is being stalked by a pack of coyotes. She stumbles, injured onto Mick’s property. Mick is a grey wolf shifter/graphic artist who is burying his sorrow of his lost mate for 8 years. They meet, mate and dispose of the bad coyotes. I love the citizens of Alpha, Washington. They are a mis-matched group of shifters who ban together to form their own family.
Favorite quotes:
“Although Alpha is a small town, so you’d be wise to give up any expectations of privacy right now and save yourself some headaches.”
“...forget Zumba; mortal combat was apparently the true path to physical fitness.”
My first 5 star read of the year. I will be reading more Christine Warren.
The book was provided by NetGalley for an honest review.
Well, I am sincerely pleased to announce that once again, Christine Warren has brought her fabulous world to life with well written words that paint vivid images that makes readers feel as if they are part of the story. The characters are strong, captivating and grab the reader’s attention right from the start and in this case, Renny and Mick draw readers into an emotionally turbulent romance that is full of heat and spice and you can practically feel the chemistry between them as it flies from the pages.
The fast paced plot is full of thrills and suspense that keep readers on the edge of their seat while a bad alpha keeps the danger coming as he has fixated on Renny and then the author adds a few surprising twists to keep readers guessing. This story has it all with lots of romance, suspense, heat, great dialogue that makes it easy for the readers to relate to the characters and feel as if they really come to life and let me tell you the alpha males are super sexy and they are definitely playing for keeps, of course I don’t mind because they can certainly keep me.
Another great series from Christine Warren, which isn’t surprising since I love her other books. This book starts off with plenty of excitement and I was glued to the pages from very first one. I loved Alphaville and there is some really interesting characters that live there, so I can’t wait to visit again.
Though I was excited to start the series,it was just an okay read for me. I just could not seem to immerse in this story and connect to these two. I found that I kept putting the book down, wanting to find something else to read. This story was written well, it just didn't pull me in.
I really enjoyed this first book in Christine Warren's new series. I loved Renny, she's a bad ass. Mick is very stubborn to begin with but once he gets over that there is no stopping him. I t was great to see the town come together and help Renny and welcome her so completely. I can't wait for the next book to come out.
If I thought that my love for supernatural romances had waned..I was so wrong! Christine Warren is back with a new spin-off series to her infamous Others romances, Alphaville. A quaint, pacific northwestern town where shifters of all kinds gather. The outcasts, the lonely, the downtrodden and the forgotten are all welcomed.
Renny's on the run, literally. She's being chased by a pack of coyotes who are out for blood and her haven is Alphaville. The whispered about town were cast-outs can seek refuge is just within her grasp when the attack on her hits. Or so she thinks. She's landed on another wolf's territory and he doesn't take kindly to attacks on his property. Say hello to sexy alpha wolf Mick. He can't deny the bond between himself and the she-wolf the moment he sets eyes on her. And when he learns of her tragic story and her barely-there escapes from the clutches of a mad-coyote shifter, his instincts kick in.
Supernatural romances have such a base quality to them. The animal instincts of the shifters allows for a more guttural and visceral reaction when it comes to hero and heroine. And there's something about that that I love so much. Not only does this new series have some seriously sexy mating scenes (WHEW!), there is non-stop action. From the moment Renny's paws hit MIck's territory down to the battle against her coyote stalker there's a thrilling pace made to keep readers intrigued. Supernatural romance lovers add this one to your TBR lists now!
I enjoy a good paranormal romance, but honestly, Baby, I'm howling For You was FAN-FREAKING-TASTIC! Chalk full of adventure, action, suspense, wonderfully steamy romance, this book had me utterly lost and forgetting about time. I like a good hero and heroine, but I feel Renny and Mick are stupendous characters. They have so many secrets and depth to them and their personalities meshed well with one another and the chemistry was hot, heavy and breathtaking.
This felt like such a energetic and heart galloping story. Exciting and thrilling rolled into a sizzling romance made this story irresistible. I HIGHLY recommend this book to paranormal romance lovers...you will bite into this and BEG for more!
I give this a STEAMY AND EXCITING FIVE SHOOTING STARS!!
This book didn't catch my interest. Not because it wasn't good but because I just wasn't in the mood at the time to read this kind of book. I will try again in the future.
This is the first full length book in the Alphaville series and if this is any indication of the rest of the series, I can't wait for more. This book had a bit of everything from a tense chase scene to steamy romance and everything in between! Alphaville is full of quirky characters, all of which are shifters. While Renny thought that Alphaville could be just the sanctuary she needed to escape her dangerous past, she had no idea it would make such an impact on her future when she met her fated, albeit reluctantly so, mate, Mick. The gruff, reclusive Mick and Renny, the outgoing librarian, make a terrific couple.
Wow where to begin with book one in this fascinating series.
We get a young woman running for her life is what we get. She has a stalker and not in a good way at all. Her goal? Get to Alpha Washington.
Mike carries the past with him but he has made some what of a life for himself in Alphaville.
He thought everything was ok up until a female red shifter is struggling to stay alive on his front stoop.
This book is wickedly good, we get intense action and suspense and the hotness factor sizzles. I enjoyed it very much.
Renny Landry was trying to make it to Alpha when her car ran out of gas. Renny was on the run, had been for months, from a man who wanted her and wouldn’t stop until he had her. He and his pack of minions, all coyote shifters, found her wherever she tried to hide and her last hope was to find refuge in Alpha. Renny is a beautiful red wolf shifter. She makes it into the yard of reclusive Mick Fischer. Renny is injured and in need of assistance. Mick escaped to Alpha eight years ago when his mate was killed. And if you are wondering--Mick’s animal is a wolf. A curious thing happened as Mick was carrying Renny into the house--Mick’s wolf was awake and prowling and started trying to get out. He recognized that Renny was their mate. But this is impossible. Wolves didn’t mate a second time or could they? This book is fast paced from page 1 and was moving at lightning speed. There is a lot going on. This story focuses on Mick, Renny, and the authorities of Alpha come together to try to take down the bad pack of coyotes that are out to hurt people. What was really hot was the chemistry between Mick and Renny; the chemistry was so hot, it was sizzling off the pages. But there is the threat that Renny has of her stalker and was Mick going to be able to help take care of making sure to capture and take care of the threat lingering over Renny’s head for good or would she have to continue moving to stay one step ahead of this threat?
This story is of the fated mates trope so trust me, you will love that and it is of the paranormal aspect which is a double bonus. I loved the secondary characters that played an added role to give this a more rounded feel. This was a fast paced read with lots of action, great secondary characters and plenty of steam. All in all, a fantastic romance read!!
My Rating: 4.5 stars *****
“I received an advanced copy of this book from the author at no cost to me."
I voluntarily received an Advanced Readers Copy of this book from NetGalley. Renny an interesting name and her story of running for her life because of a stalker, who happens to be the former in law of the man she ended up on his land wounded and hounded by a gang of coyotes. Mick's wolf realized Renny was his mate before she did. It was interesting the back and forth between Mick and Renny when it came to their relationship. Also Mick took it upon himself to fight the stalker for her since he knew who he was dealing with. A very good story line of danger, action and romance. A very good read.
Baby, I’m Howling for You is book one in the Alphaville series by Christine Warren. I first read Christine’s Gargoyle series so I was so excited to read this brand new series. Alphaville, or Alpha, Washington, is a small town in the Pacific Northwest, where shifters go that are alone, damaged, or just different. It’s a place where they can go where they know they will be accepted, no questions asked, and find a pack amongst the towns people, a mixture of all different shifters who come together to form a close knit community.
Alpha is where Renny Landry was trying to make it to when her car ran out of gas. Renny was on the run, had been for months, from a man who wanted her, Geoffrey Hilliard, and who wouldn’t stop until he had her. He and his pack of minions, all coyote shifters, found her wherever she tried to hide and her last hope was to find refuge in Alpha. Renny is a beautiful red wolf shifter.
Let me warn you that this book starts out right from the first page action packed. Don’t think you will start the book and read a few pages and then put it down. You will not be walking away.
Renny’s attempt to get away from her pursuers takes her right into the yard of the reclusive Mick Fischer. She is injured and certain to be caught when Mick rescues her. Mick escaped to Alpha eight years ago when his mate was killed. Mick’s animal is a wolf. As soon as he carried Renny into his house, Mick’s wolf was awake and prowling. He recognized that Renny was their mate. But this is impossible. Wolves didn’t mate a second time. It was a one time thing for wolf shifters. Wolves rarely survived when they lost their mates and he couldn’t figure out why he was even still alive. Maybe this is why, because Renny was also his mate. The mate he lost was his past, but Renny was now his future.
This book was amazing. It was fast paced as Mick, Renny, and the authorities of Alpha come together to try to take down the pack of coyotes. The chemistry between Mick and Renny was sizzling hot. When two wolves are newly mated, they go through a sort of honeymoon phase and believe me, these two made every use of their time together. But the threat of Renny’s stalker was still hanging over their heads. Everyone in the town was at risk until they could be caught.
I love this little town. It is such an adorable, eclectic mix of residents and they all come together when one of their own is in need, as they did for Renny. There are so many wonderful secondary characters in this book that I look forward to hearing more about. The next book in the series is called Your Lion Eyes and I can’t wait.
Wow just wow. I wasn't sure what to expect but this was a great read. Sexy shifters, check. Smart women, check. Crazy stalker, check. Kinda sounds same old same old...only it wasn't . This may have been a familiar concept but good storytelling made all the difference. The secondary characters were well conceived and the story was well paced. She creates a delicious tension between Mick and Renny and between her and the man stalking her. You can't help but keep reading to find out how things resolve.
I enjoyed this story though it was a little long winded in places, it is fast paced and exciting
I rec'd a copy and voluntarily leave my own thoughts
It was a nice story. Renny is a wolf shifter on the run from a demented coyote stalker. Well, she runs right into Mick. Whom, oops, just happens to be her destined mate. But he's already had a mate and doesn't really want another. The coyote and his friends haven't given up and there is some past here too. Again, it was a good story.
I enjoy this series very much and would recommend to any reader who love paranormal romance.
