Nash trained at a boxing gym most nights in his old neighborhood. Most days Nash spent two miles from his old neighborhood but it was a world away as Nash plotted corporate takeovers on Wall street. Nash is known for stripping his targets of their assets , selling them for more individually than they were worth as a whole. In his spare time he does the same to those he is up against in the ring. Nash used a combination of street fighting and mixed martial arts. As he was getting in his chauffeur= Jay- driven SUv he saw a young woman go into an alley by the boxing gym and two thugs followed her there. But she caught Nash’s attention as she looked like she was running from something. Nash wondered why the thugs were chasing her and then decided he had to see exactly what was going on. The thugs had claimed the young woman as theirs but Jamie didn’t see it that way and told the thugs to let her go. Nash didn’t want to know her but felt he had to extract her from the thugs. One of the thugs pulled a knife on Nash but Nash disarmed him and broke his arm. The other thug decided to leave but then Nash realized the other thug must have had a knife as the woman came up with blood on her hand. Nash caught her before the woman fell to the ground. Nash decide to take the woman to his condo Jamie paid Dr. Campball a lot of money to be at hos beck and call. So the Dr. came to Nash’s place and put stitches in the woman’s waist from the knife wound which thankfully wasn't to bad. Nash was attracted to the young woman. On the tv was a remembrance ceremony from 9-11. Nash didn’t need a reminder of 9-11 Sixteen years ago Nash had been sixteen and ready to join a street gang. After the attack Nash’s eighteen year old brother Wyatt on September twelve went to an Air Force recruiter and joined the Air Force. Before Wyatt left for boot camp he made Nash promise he would stay off the streets. Nash was both proud of Wyatt but angry that Wyatt had left him behind. Between cutting school and starting fights Nash was on his way to breaking his promise. But Reggie who was a boxing gym owner seen Nash and a kid fighting outside his gym and took them inside to fight. Then Nash had an outlet for the unwieldy emotions clouding his judgement. Reggie had Nash sweep floors, clean the bathrooms, and washing wraps so he could train. Ftist Nash traioned with amateurs and then pros. But a rule Reggie had was he had to do well in school to train in his gym.. Then with a little effort from Nash he got straight A’s. Nash’s efforts got him a college scholarship, internships, job offers, Eventually Nash got his own company then his first million he kept going. Nash still trained at Reggie’s gym. No woman had ever spent the night in Nash’s condo but this woman would. She needed to heal.Nixie- the young woman- woke up to a bandage on her right side Nash told her the wound wasn’t too bad and se had a couple of stitches. Nixie wanted to leave but Nash told her the doctor would be back to check on her the next day. Nixie had ran away from an abusive ex boyfriend- Derrick.. He Nash flirts with Nixie who mostly ignores him. Nixe had lost both of her parents on 9-11 and at twenty five- a little under a year- Nixie had an inheritance coming. Derricks family had taken Nixie in after her parents died and finished raising her. Derrick was determined to marry Nixie and get her money. Derrick had a gambling problem and was going to use the money Nixie got to pay hos gambling debt off and he was determined no one was going to stop him no matter what he had to do. . Nixie might be in danger and Nash was determined to protect her. There was a very hot chemistry between Nash and Nixie. Nixie wasn’t interested in another relationship after Derrick. Nash’s true love had been his work and his niece and nephew. His brother had eventually died when serving his country. While Nash wouldn't take no from Nixie- unlike Derrick who refused to take no from her- with Nash it was because he cared and sees Nixie for who she really is. The only woman Nash had ever loved ended up with his brother and was the mother of his niece and nephew. But Nash did think the answer to their problems was to get married in name only.
I really enjoyed this book. I liked the plot and pace of the book for the most part but sometimes it did drag for me. I would have liked a little more background on Nixie and Nash. I loved how Nash’s friends excepted Nixie into their group. I also lied how the author showed Nixie and Nash’s pain relating to 9-11. I also really loved Nash and Nixie together. Also how the author showed both POVs. I did feel this was realistic. I did feel the ending was a little rushed. I didn’t like Eva at all. I loved the character for the most part and the ins and outs of this book and I recommend.

Received an ARC for my honest opinion review for NetGalley.
My name is Noelle but I changed my name to Nixie for reasons only I know.
Nash Knight is a ruthless business man. I don't rescue or play nursemaid to anyone, but Nixie has me in knots.
Nash rescues Nixie after she has been stab and takes her home with him. Now the mystery begins. Who is Nixie Rowland and what is her story. Must read to find out!!!!

A sexy billionaire coming to the rescue who happens to be gorgeous, arrogant and has enough testosterone to make any red-blooded woman melt on the spot! Deal Breaker was so irresistible! Sexy, sweet, and sizzling with that RED HOT chemistry I couldn't help but to sigh and dream of my own sexy rich man that can do naughty things to me.

I LOVED Nixie! She was bold, tough, beautiful and sassy! And Nash...WOW! What a sexy man that really knows how to make me sizzle. And the passion between Nash and Nixie was INTOXICATING! I loved every moment of Deal Breaker and want to get into more books of Tara Leigh. I really like her writing, her amazing characters and the her plots are always so entertaining.

Deal Breaker gets a SIZZLING FIVE SHOOTING STARS! Nothing makes my heart more than a sexy rich man rescuing a beautiful sassy woman from danger.

I didn’t get the pleasure of reading , Leigh’s debut novel earlier this year. However I jumped at the chance to read the second novel in the Billionaire Bosses series, Deal Breaker. A story that had surprisingly touched my heart in a way that I wasn’t expecting. A romance that was personal and heartful by exploring a part of recent history that no one will forget in a hurry.

It’s a powerful part of the book and a very important of the story. As it drives how the characters interact and relate to each other. Emotions and tensions are high and you won’t forget these two in a hurry as a result.

Nash Knight is a typical billionaire playboy who I have seen in countless romances , I thought. However underneath the pretty painted appearance, is a man who has been unable to deal with the past and the emotions it has brought. He is one of the lucky ones and he knows it despite that past giving him heartache. Nash grew up in the rough parts of New York and never forgets his childhood. He is now a workaholic whose life is about to turn upside down by a redhead named Nixie. A woman who shares some of the same pain and who he happened to rescue from a situation that about to turn nasty.

He could have walked away and gone on with his life. However Nixie catches his attention and he more then happy to give her some of his cultivated charm . As this may start of a knight and damsel situation but it isn’t just that. There is a wonderful rich story waiting to be unfolded.

Nixie is a woman who wants to be independent yet she isn’t. Constantly have to put a face on to hide her vulnerability that she never escape. Nixxie doesn’t want a man like Nash in her life so that she can appear weak and get support for the pain she has created for so long . She rather tough things out . Even though the attraction is obvious and she is intrigued

With Nash more then willing to break his own rules, Nixxie cautiously open to things as time passes by and Nash makes his moves. It should have been smooth sailing. Yet the past and the grief stilled reared its ugly head. Leigh made sure to address things carefully in that respect and don’t make any bad decisions.

Both of them take a well rounded view before delving head first into the relationship and even though it became a deal breaking relationship. It was obvious that these two weren’t going to start things on tenderhorks even though it had taken this turn later in the novel..

Leigh wrote an interesting romance. It was a bit topsy- turvy and made it refreshing by establishing a relationship first before the cliché. It made it more relatable and understandable given things in this novel.

One of my favourite parts of this novel was the pacing. The author made sure to make this relationship realistic as possible given the clichés involved and the fact there was some serious grief involved in the story. Even though there was elements of attraction being instant. These two characters need time. Leigh plotted the story beautiful to address those issues that were holding them back.

And it ended beautifully. Whilst this end of the Billionaire Bosses, I can’t wait to see what Leigh has in store for us. She definitely knows how to hit hard and writes stories that will make things feel fresh and alive. Deal Breaker is the type of modern romance readers will enjoy because it brings the old and the new together so perfectly well.

This is Book #2 in the Billionaire Bosses series.  I did not read Book #1.  I have not read anything from this author.  From the first page, I was taken into the book and wasn't released until the last page.  I could see Nixie being followed and Nash helping her out.  Nixie is running from her past and has been looking over her shoulders for some time, but the one time she didn't Nash was there to help her.

I want to read Book #1.  I would love to see the Billionaire boss being a woman!  Just throwing that out there!!

There were a number of elements in this book that hit me deeply. Weather is was due to the fact that they are in New York and the book starts at a significant location. Or the fact that they are trying to honor those they loved and lost. Nixie isn't who we all think she is. She isn't needing to get money, she is actually in hiding. She doesn't want to be found. The things that she is hiding are only able to be fixed by getting married. Nash is willing to help. He just doesn't plan on the falling in love with her part. I adored this book.

Nixie and Nash are opposites and yet they are the same. Both are a little disillusioned by life, both doubt the motives of the people around them, and this brings them together and gives them an attraction and a relationship that is actually oddly solid.

There were parts of this book that I really liked and parts of the book that didn't totally work for me. I thought there were places where I was not totally able to buy into the things that were happening in the story.

Maybe I am a little frustrated with the "marriage of necessity" trope, although I usually like it, but in this one, I was not a fan. I guess I just never bought into the "necessity" of the marriage and I didn't like that it felt deceitful.

I did enjoy it mostly, but there were parts of this one that didn't exactly work for me.

This is the first book I have ever read by Tara Leigh and I have to say I am a huge fan now! The concept alone had me gripping my ereader begging to know more about Nixie and Nash as they navigate everything that gets thrown at them. The fierce alpha in Nash and the sass of Nixie class from the start and their banter had me giggling the whole time. Seeing them fight their chemistry was fun too. Though I have to say, Eva is a cow. That is all I am gonna say on that one!
Overall, I really enjoyed this story. There was enough swoon worthy moments with a lot of action and intrigue to keep you on your toes and makes you want to devour each word. If you have not picked up this one or anything else by Leigh, I would highly recommend it. She has a beautiful way with words!

This is the second book in this series by this author. The characters are amazing, the perfect swoon worthy billionaire mixed with a strong female. This book can be read as a stand alone read or as part of the series. This is an amazing story that will keep you hooked till the last page. I can't wait to read more in this series and by this author in the future.

**3.5 stars**

This was my first book by Tara Leigh and I enjoyed it - didn't love it - but overall a solid read.

I liked the characters and the plot but would have liked more detail in some areas, especially about their past histories. Felt this part was a bit rushed and lacked detail while other areas got a lot more.

I will look for more from this author though and give her another try.

This was a great story. Nash and Nixie's budding relationship was wonderful to witness. There was no instant love, but a slow growing love. I really enjoyed watching them develop. I loved how the problem was finally revealed at the end. Did not see that outcome. I like a book that can surprise me like that. I enjoyed Penthouse Player by Tara Leigh, and this book also hit the mark.

Deal Breaker by Tara Leigh
Billionaire Bosses #2

Nash, self-made millionaire, sees a woman in trouble and steps in to help. Little did he know that the woman he helped would impact his life in a very big way. Nixie, the woman he saved then took care of overnight was not awed by his splendor or money though she did eventually warm up over time and text messages. Nixie has trouble she is running from and Nash is running from love…at least at first. With a business deal to make, a marriage of convenience to contemplate, past pains to deal with and a whole lot going on it takes a bit of time for Nash to realize what he really wants and for Nixie to be willing to trust as she should.

Thank you to NetGalley, St. Martin’s Press and Barclay Publishing for the ARC – This is my honest review.

Nixie is on the run from an abusive ex and Nash only has time for work. When Nash rescues her from an attacker she ends up in his bed. Nash is typically a one-night stand kind of guy but his recent business deal is going south a stable relationship might just help. Will it be in more than just name only? This is a fast-paced entertaining read with plenty of drama and suspense. The story held my interest throughout and the chemistry is steamy. A good read.

One of the main reasons I wanted to read this book, because it sounded interesting. The other reason was the author's name looked familiar, but this is my first book I've read by her. Anyway, I enjoyed Deal Breaker, because Tara two people who dealt with the tragedy September 11, and have them cross paths. So, we have Nixie and Nash who have similar feelings, and have them cross each others paths. We have Nash who doesn't really care about anyone but himself being drawn to someone who is need of desperate help. We have Nixie who has been burned by a person who supposedly loved her, but used her, and she has no desire to saved.

I enjoyed this story. I thought it was pretty good. I love the interaction between Nixie and Nash. Nash is trying to be the hero to Nixie, and she wants nothing to do with him. She fears that Nash is like her ex-boyfriend, which nobody should ever assume anything. However, there was a part in the story that made me want to stop reading, because the thought of what could have happen made me gag. Honestly, I didn't want another complication that could have made Nash and Nixie getting together a little harder. They were facing an uphill battle already I didn't want another hill. Made it pass that point, and so glad that I did. I know I seem like I'm rambling, and I probably am, but I did like the story. I liked that these two had something similar to bring them close together. I'm glad Nash woke up from his fog of life. He was living in the fog for sometime until Nixie snapped him out of it. These two are actually pretty good together. Nash had to work extremely hard to get Nixie to trust him. By the end of the story I was rooting for these two. I hope that Nash's sister in law does get her own story, because I think she needs some happiness, even though I'm not a big fan of hers. She's part of the reason I almost stopped in the middle of the story. Overall, a pretty good story.

Book 2 in the Billionaire Bosses series and this is Nash Knight and Nixie Rowland’s Story. I read the previous book Penthouse Player but I do think each can be read as standalones, I love this authors characters they are all strong and her heroines are sassy and independent. This book has it all plenty of banter between the characters as well as a good storyline. Looking forward to more in the series and more from this author.

Although Deal Breaker is the second book in Tara Leigh’s Billionaire Bosses series, it works perfectly fine as a standalone novel. As a standalone novel is how I read this one, although I am now interested in giving Penthouse Player a read. We got a small insight into the lives of Reina and Tristan, the characters from the first book, and I’m super curious to know their story. It was only a few chapters that the characters appeared, but it was enough to leave me intrigued – especially with how much I enjoyed Deal Breaker.

In all honesty, I was a wee bit tentative when I started this one. The beginning of the book had me fearing a cliché. Down on luck female is in a sticky situation, saved by near perfect billionaire. It’s been done before. As much as I enjoy such reads, I always fear I’m close to reaching my limit – fearful nothing new can be added. Fortunately, it took very little to pull me into this story, to show the book was very much worth reading.

Both Nixie and Nash were wonderful characters, and I found myself loving them both so much. They were such entertaining characters, and the chemistry between the two of them was fabulous. Both came with baggage, with drama, and it made for many wonderful scenes. Some things were a bit on the predictable side, having been done before, but there was plenty to make this book unique. Whilst I did enjoy plenty of the events, my love for both of the characters is what won me over the most.

It’s not just our main characters who are a lot of fun, though. The entire cast was great. I feel in love with many of the characters throughout the story – and even those I didn’t come to love, I still had strong feelings towards. Without a doubt, the characters of this story really came to life. There was so much to everyone, and I enjoyed getting to know them all as the story played out in the many wonderful ways.

My only disappointment was with the ending. I was so invested in the story, so much happened, that I felt as though the ending was rather rushed. Things happened too quickly, it felt like a bit of an easy way out. I enjoyed the way some things came together, but I was not as invested in the ending as I had hoped to be. I wanted something a bit more explosive, I wanted my heartstrings to be pulled to the point of no return. Instead, I was given an ending that failed to impact me as much as the earlier part of the book.

Overall, though, I really enjoyed this one. I’ll certainly be reading more Tara Leigh in the future, especially the prior Billionaire Bosses book.

Technically this book is the second in the Billionaire Bosses series, however, the characters are so loosely connected I wouldn't even consider it a series. The only real similarity is that both books feature Wall Street billionaires that once they meet their "woman" nothing will stop them from getting what they want. I really appreciated Tara Leigh's approach to 9/11 and having both characters so closely tied to the tragedy. Not only did Nixie loose both of her parents that day, but it was also her eighth birthday. It was also because of 9/11 that Nash's brother enlisted and ultimately died while he was in the military. But then remarkably, on the sixteenth anniversary of the tragedy, Nash and Nixie met and once again the day changed everything. All in all, a very enjoyable contemporary romance that makes me want to keep an eye out for future novels by Tara Leigh.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this novel.

Nixie Rowland is determined to outrun her past, but it might not be that simple, especially when she's making stupid mistakes like taking a short-cut to the Subway. Luckily though, Nash Knight rides to her rescue. However, Nixie isn't about to trust a guy that reminds her of her ex. Yet, the more time she spends with Nash, the more she realizes how wrong she is about him in that he's nothing like her ex. Will Nash be able to win Nixie over before her past catches up with her, or will they lose their chance at happy ever after?

This is a story that can easily be read as a stand-alone, and it's a story that was completely riveting from start to finish, especially because of the way the story starts with the heroine finding herself in trouble and Nash coming to her rescue. Will he get to her in time before anything really bad happens to her? However, it was from that moment where the hero and heroine meet where this story really takes off and gets very interesting because the heroine is determined to be an independent woman that doesn't need a man after all she's been through with her ex while the hero isn't ready to give up on her because it's palpable she needs help or at least a friend.

As for the dialogue, it flowed really well and had me hooked due to the main characters back stories, their growing relationship and I loved every moment Nixie and Nash converse, as he's confident and a total smooth-talker, and yet, his charm doesn't work on Nixie like it does on other women including his sister-in-law. Moreover, the heroine has been through a lot and I felt sorry for her when it came to her ex, as the guy is controlling and just expects her to fall into line with what he wants from her. Will she ever be able to break free from him? However, she's resilient, courageous, independent, sassy and I liked how determined she was to resist the hero, even though their chemistry is strong and giving into it is inevitable.

While the hero, he's worked hard to get to where he is in his life, and I liked that he was determined to win over a client because he wants the man's company, even if it means deceiving the man. I also liked the hero's confidence, his charm and his determination to win over the heroine because she's unlike any woman he's ever been with before and he wants more from her than he's ever wanted from the numerous women he's been with in the past.

Overall, Ms Leigh has delivered a really good read in this book where the chemistry between this couple was strong; the romance wonderfully written to show how good these two are togther; and the ending had cheering for this couple's happy ever after as the hero does everything in his power to prove to the heroine that they belong together. I would recommend Deal Breaker by Tara Leigh, if you enjoy the opposites attract trop e or books by authors Siobhan Davis, Clarissa Wild, Am Brent and Mia Ford.

I am loving Tara Leigh books! Deal Breaker was insanely good. I was rooting for Nixie from page one all the way to the end. Nash was a domineering alpha that just could not stay away from the pull he and Nixie had. This book gives you plenty of sexy and a bit of sass. I wanted to stay curled up on my sofa and read this book all the way through in one setting. It was that good! The dynamics between these two were off the charts.

Deal Breaker will have you swooning! There was drama with an ex that gave the story the perfect twist. I can not wait for another great book by Tara!
