I was confused with this book on what the author was trying for. I did not get the impression of a historical book about the Boston mob or different gangs. What it did seem like was a tour guide of some of the different places and or crime locations of hits or whatnot. The pictures were good and at times the information seemed interesting but I also felt left wanting more and some of the information I know about the Boston Mob was not talked about or just lightly skimmed over.

A fascinating look at the many intricate power plays of Boston in the prime of America's early to mid century.

The compelling voice made the research feel like I was watching a really good gangster movie, while the attention to the humanity and history of my favourite American city helped bring out the nuance of a tumultuous time period.

Drawing greatly on first hand accounts and expert reporting, this was a non fiction that read like a fast paced novel

I was super excited to read this book and found it very disappointing. It was boring, I kept pushing myself because I was hoping that the story would pick up. This could have been a great book but it fell short.

Good biography on gangs and their experiences in Boston. Very well researched and written. Lots of interesting information of the gang activity found in Boston. The pictures that are featured are a welcome addition. Overall, a very good book. Thanks to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for the Arc of this book in return for my honest review.

Who knew that crime in Boston went so far back? Who knew the Mob was so prominent in that area? I didn't. This book gave detailed descriptions of what happened along with photos of places that aren't even there anymore. I was so riveted with each turning page! The detailed descriptions of each criminal as well as the crimes themselves! A must read!
