Bearing His Sins by Eve Langlais 4 Star
Eve Langlais has written a sexy and totally comical romance. Which after looking at her website some post reading this anthology, that is sort of her style. I like it. Cole is bear shifter and an assassin who is scouting out a hit that he was going to do but was recently cancelled. While he is there in a tree looking through some binoculars and that's when Anja appears below him with a shotgun. A shotgun ready to shoot and an attitude of a total badass. Anja and her grandmother live together on the land he is using to spy. They've been fighting and hiding bodies defending Anja from her fiancé for years. There are parts where Cole was making dirty jokes towards Anja and the whole time her grandmother is there trying to marry her off to him. It is so hilarious. Like dirty jokes that a drunk frat boy would say. My husband and I use stupid dirty jokes all the time like "I need more filling for my pie" and he would say "I got some filling for you." So for me I loved that. I love the banter between them. Cole reminds of Deadpool sometimes with just some of the things that he says. For example, he is talking about them getting busy in a very HOT was against a tree, and then next breathe saying he should really kill her. I really liked the ending it went well with their banter. It did feel a little jumped into pretty quickly, but what do you want it's a novella

Bought by the Bear by Milly Taiden 4 Star
I flew through this book. Like I stayed up till midnight after reading non stop after the kids went to bed. This is written out like it really should have been a full novel and was trimmed down to fit in this anthology. Josilyn has been living life like a single mom and raising her nephew Nick since his parents died in a hit and run car accident. She also has been barely scraping by since her husband divorced her and took everything he possibly could, including her public image so no one will hire her. She has a day job cleaning the rich and rudes houses to she can barely feed them. So her best friend and neighbor gets her a job pretending to be a mate for Xander. He needs a fake mate for a week to convince his grandmother he is actually maturing and not just being a frat boy. They meet and surprise, she is actually his one true mate. The story has a lot going for it. She has her own drama unfolding where people keep trying to kidnap her. And meanwhile she has the hots for this bear shifter she is now living with.

The Alpha and I by Kate Baxter
Devon has moved out to no where. She lives in a cabin and owns a bar for the town. The town has like 70 people in it. She was driving home in a blizzard one night and ends of meeting the most amazing man in the world. The man she picks up on the side of the road is naked and covered in blood. He is werewolf. Don't judge this by the short basic snippet though. I know the random chance meeting, love at first site might be so repetitive you might not be in the mood for it today. However, I really recommend that you give this third part of the anthology a shot. The thing is, the bond between the characters is true and real. I felt the love they have. You can feel their magnetic pull and complete understanding of each other.

What happens when 2 bears and a wolf find their mates? Read and find out!

Bearing His Sins by Eve Langlais

This book was definitely the star in this anthology. I loved both Cole and Anja. The were funny on their own but throw in their crazy family members and you wont be able to put the book down. After reading this I went and read CATCH A TIGER BY THE TAIL also by Eve Langlais and was in love with that one as well. Great job Eve!

I have been a fan of shifter romances for quite a while and these 3 were we'll-written with feisty women, hunky alpha men and a fair bit of steamy sex scenes. It's always a big bonus for me when humour is added to the mix. Very enjoyable!

BEARING HIS SINS by Eve Langlais... 4.5 stars

Cole is a hired assassin, bear shifter and is hiding in a tree to kill a man. He is startled out of the tree by a woman. His bear knows immediately that she's his mate. Anja is from Russian descent and about to shoot Cole. They go back to her farmhouse where she lives with her grandmother, who is a crackerjack.
Cole and Anja go to Russia to put a stop to the man who keeps trying to kidnap her and marry her. Her grandfather meets them at the airport and drops a couple of surprises on her. When she's kidnapped, Cole will do anything to get his mate back.
Funny with a crazy grandmother and a wild, sexy killer. One phrase kept getting repeated over and over which was a little annoying. But all in all it was a good story. Steamy sex scenes.

BOUGHT BY THE BEAR by Milly Taiden... 5 stars

Josie is divorced, raising her dead sister's son. She is barely making it when her friend gets her a job as a pretend mate to a bear. Xander is rich and a bear shifter. His grandmother wants him mated and settled down so he goes to a match making agency. The moment he sees Josie, he and his bear is his mate. Someone is after her and Xander will protect her with everything in him.
Smoking hot scenes, a crazy ex, and a mischievous grandmother and friends. I love Milly's stories and this is one of the best.

THE ALPHA AND I by Kate Baxter.. 5 stars

Devon left an abusive relationship and moved to the woods, runs a bar, and lives in a little cabin with her dog. While driving home on a snowy night, something rushes out in front of her and causes her to lose control of the car. Once she gets it back in control, she gets out and looks around. She finds a naked man with blood on him. She takes him to her cabin and waits for him to awake.
Liam is a werewolf and Alpha of his small pack. They moved from their home because a bear shifter was trying to kill him. He doesn't remember everything that happened because his wolf is keeping it from him. One smell of Devon and he knows she's his mate. Convincing her is going to be difficult. Once she sees him turn, she is shocked and amazed.
When Liam realizes the bear will come to her cabin, they start out for his pack in a snow storm. The bear attacks him and he gets away. But Liam knows the only way to keep Devon safe, is to turn her. Can he convince her to make the change and live her life with him?
First time reading this author and I really enjoyed it. Sex, shifters, and romance. An alpha male and a strong woman who are perfect for each other.

Synopsis:
Enter a world of smoldering shifters in this scintillating anthology headlined by New York Times bestselling authors Eve Langlais and Milly Taiden with brand-new, never published novellas!

Bearing His Sin – Eve Langlais
Cole should have killed Anja the moment he realized she was his mate. Instead, he let her live and now they’re on the hunt, chasing the morons who think they can force her to marry another man. Like hell. And while this shapeshifting bear might have his share of sins, he’s not going to let little things like murder and mayhem prevent him from having the woman meant to be the keeper of his heart.

Bought by the Bear - Milly Taiden
Josilyn Martinez just needed the money to help raise her nephew. That's it. There's no other reason she would take a job posing as a shifter's mate so he can assure his grandmother he's settled down. There's no reason to stay at his place so they learn "more about each other." And there's definitely no good reason she should get involved with the hard, hot, and handsome shifter that's hired her.
Xander just needs a fake mate for a week to get his grandmother off his back. But what's a bear shifter to do when the impostor mate he hired turns out to be his actual mate? All sweet, luscious curves and a heart of gold, Xander's not going to let his mate get away. Now all he has to do is show her that they belong together, one kiss and touch at a time...

The Alpha and I – Kate Baxter
Devon Kincaid is happy with her new life in Lowman, Idaho. Her little bar on the outskirts of the tiny, isolated town is doing well, and she’s not even interested in finding a man. But when she finds a bleeding man—a hot, hard, handsome, naked bleeding man—in the snow one night, Devon brings him home to care for him. He’s definitely not like any man she’s ever met before, but what she doesn’t realize is that he’s not just a man…
Liam Murphy isn't simply a werewolf. He's the Alpha. In a heated battle with a deadly bear shifter, he's moved his pack to the Sawtooth Wilderness in order to draw danger from them. He was hoping to escape his problems—but the last thing he expects to find in the isolated Idaho wilderness was his mate. Fragile and unfamiliar with the violent supernatural world, the only way he can protect Devon is to make her what he is: a werewolf. He only hopes that in the process convincing her to enter fully into his world, that he doesn’t drive away the one woman he can’t live without.

My Thoughts:
As a whole, I struggled with this one. Each story was just okay, some better than others. Nothing memorable or that I would read again. I was disappointed because I love shifter romance.

Bearing His Sin 2.5
This story was funny, but a silly funny that after a while became really annoying. The story jumped around a lot and I had a hard time staying engaged. I couldn't connect with the characters at all. There were times I thought so where are we going with this? This was just not for me. Sorry to say this was a new to me author that I don’t think I would try to read anything else.

Bought by the Bear - 3 stars
This was better than the first one but still nothing that I would want to reread. I was engaged more with the characters on this one. This also was a new to me author and I’m not sure if I will read anything else.

The Alpha and I - 3 stars
This was the best of the three, but still not up to what I expect from Kate Baxter. I was really disappointed that Devon had a dog and they left the dog behind in a cabin with no heat and wasn’t mentioned again. They didn’t return to her cabin. This really bothered me. I usually really like this author’s writing but was disappointed this time.

I am sorry to say that this just didn’t do it for me.

Three shifter romances by different authors with very different plots are included in this collection of novellas which, according to Goodreads, is the first such collection in a new series called ‘Fur’! They are lovely reads for when you’ve not much time or for anyone looking for a taster into this genre.

Bearing His Sin by Eve Langlais is a delightful paranormal romantic comedy that had me laughing out loud at some of the escapades and interactions. Yes, it is OTT but still a story to put a smile on your face and keep it there. I really enjoyed reading it!

The second novella is Brought by the Bear and involves Xander Ursi hiring someone to pretend to be his fated mate - only to discover that she really is! I loved his grandmother and her nephew in this story which is kind of a paranormal Cinderella type of romance. I’d really like to read a novel length version of this story so there would be more time for the author to develop the characters further.

The final novella is The Alpha and I which has an Alpha wolf shifter struggling to defeat the Bear shifters who are at war with his pack. The last thing he expected was to discover his mate is a human, someone who knows nothing of the paranormal world or how to survive its violent turmoil. Deciding how best to protect both her and his pack won’t be easy for Liam Murphy!

I requested and received a copy of this novel. This is my honest review after choosing to read it.

I am an Eve Langlais fan, however the two other authors were fairly new or new to me. I enjoyed Bearing His Sin, which was comedic and an overall fun read. I found myself laughing quite a bit. Bought By the Bear was slower for me, I think that if it was extended and we had more time to get to know the characters that it would have been more enjoyable. The Alpha was a good short story, with potential. I felt the rush to get everything into the story because it was short and I don't like when that happens. In my opinion Eve Langlais' story was the best.

Bearing His Sin,
By Eve Langlais.

Bear shifter, Cole is an assassin for hire. He was hired for a hit, but then it was canceled. His curiosity will be his downfall.

Anja lives with her feisty grandmother on a farm in the middle of land owned by a crime boss. They are determined not to sell. Unfortunately for them, that crime boss is not their only problem.

This story is hilarious, our characters dark humour and less than gentle ways had me giggling all the way through. There is plenty of danger and sex to spice it up and a great twist.

Great fun.

Bought By The Bear,
By Milly Taiden.
Josilyn Martinez is bearly making ends meet. Her ex husband destroyed her career and took everything from her. Then with the death of her sister and her husband, Josilyn is caring for their son. Scrubbing toilets is not what she is used to but to provide for herself and her nephew she will do anything. A friend offers her a job that could help.

Bear shifter, Xander Ursi is being pressured by his Grandmother to find a mate and settle down. He thinks hiring a pretend mate for her visit will get him off the hook.

There is someone trying to scare our heroine, and doing a good job of it.

This is a lot of fun, and has great characters. It looks like it's the start of a series. If it is I will definitely be reading it.

I loved it.

*********************************

The Alpha and I.
By Kate Baxter.
Devon Kincaid is driving home from her bar in a blizzard when something seems to fly across the highway in front of her. Her life is about to get much more complicated and dangerous.
Alpha werewolf Liam Murphy is out in the middle of nowhere, cut off from his pack with no idea what happened. He does however know what he has found.
This book is also very funny when our characters aren't fighting for their lives. The enemy is huge and has vengeance on his mind. A very exciting read .

I really enjoyed these 3 books about Supernatural/Shifters and finding their mates. All 3 of the books are quick reads because they are novellas but you get a full story in them. I loved each story and wanted more once the book ended. There is action, romance, hot bedroom scenes, strong woman and the men who want to protect them. I really look forward to reading the next books in this series.

This book with 3 different stories of love at first sight are funny emotional and full of danger. Thanks Fur Last Night follows the love stories of Cole & Anja, Nick & Julia, also Liam & Devon, I was moved by all three stories of instant attraction and love at first sight. These aren't regular love stories though because the men are either bears or a werewolf. They are finding their mate in unusual circumstances.

In Bearing His Sins Cole literally falls at Anja's feet while on assignment as an assassin. They bicker constantly and she can be just about a crude and out spoken as Cole can and he even can put up with her grandma. When Anja's house is attacked and Cole is taken hostage by the crime lord neighbor Anja has to get him back so that they can go to Russia to take care of the man trying to get to Anja. Along the way they fall more in love with each other and secrets are revealed, When Anja is kidnapped by the man who's been after her Cole comes to the rescue along with his family and their secret. A hasty wedding and bickering families and a honeymoon trip around the world to settle on the farm where Anja lives and just as she announces the baby their having her grandma comes back from Russia,

Bought By The Bear Josie is attacked by a manic shifter outside the restaurant that Xander is going to eat at. He rescues her and realizes that she is his mate. He makes a deal with her that will help her keep guardianship of her nephew that she's been raising since his parents died. His grandma has been trying to get custody of him since the parents will was read. Xander and Josie are attracted to each other and are getting to know each other. He takes her to meet his grandma . As they get closer and finally realize they love each other a car accident almost separates them. Julia's ex-husband has been out for revenge ever since before they were married and that was the reason he did. Her father killed his mother in an accident that sent her ex to live in a hellish situations in foster care. he called her sister & her husband and is about to kill Josie when Xander intervenes and safes her life. They are getting married and she's pregnant and she has custody of her nephew. She knows that life is going to be good.

Alpha & I is the story of Devon and Liam. While driving home from the bar she owns in a blizzard Devon sees something cross her path and when she stops to look she finds a naked man down in the ditch. She takes him back to the bar where they spend 24 hours getting to know each other and Liam explains about being a werewolf. Devon moved to the middle of know where Idaho to get away from an abusive ex-boyfriend and start over figuring to never have a relationship again. Liam and Devon can't fight their feelings and mate after knowing each other for only a day. Liam's pack was attacked by a bear shifter and he doesn't know why but as soon as he and Devon mated that put her in danger as well. Devon goes to Liam home to spend time with him and his pack but leaves to think about the fact that Liam wants her to change into a werewolf. After she picks up her Jeep and heads home she is pushed off the road by the bear shifter who is after Liam. The bear is pulling her out of the wrecked Jeep and Liam and his cousin are standing by watching because Liam can't transform like the bear can so he has to fight as a human. About the time that the bear has the better of him and he thinks that he'll die there is a distraction to the bear and the police of that world show up to take the bear away. After a few months of living with the pack Devon decides to turn so that she can spend longer with Liam and they can love each other for as long as they live.

I’m always up to read anything paranormal and when I saw that Thanks Fur Last Night had stories from Eve Langlais and Milly Taiden, I immediately wanted it. I knew it would be a good anthology and while I hadn’t yet read Kate Baxter, I had heard of her and I was looking forward to reading her “The Alpha and I.” Thanks Fur Last Night did not disappoint — it was absolutely wonderful!

I’ll talk a little bit about the books in the order they appear and the first up is Eve Langlais’ “Bearing His Sins.” It’s been so long since I’ve read one of her books, but once I started reading, it felt like no time had passed at all. I recognized her voice right away and I had such a great time reading “Bearing His Sins.” It had the humor, action, and strong hero/heroine duo that I loved and have missed. It was excellent and I need to read more Eve Langlais soon!

Next up is Milly Taiden’s “Bought by the Bear” and while I loved all of the tales in Thanks Fur Last Night, I have to say that this one was my favorite. “Bought by the Bear” was full of passion, some mystery, and sweetness. The hero was so heart melting and I just adored him. I loved all the characters though and if Ms. Taiden has already written about some of them or if she plans to, let me tell you right now that I am so excited to read about them!

Last but not least, we have Kate Baxter’s “The Alpha and I.” It was sweet and heartwarming, but the danger and heat will get your blood pumping. “The Alpha and I” was such a lovely little story and Ms. Baxter does her paranormal world a bit differently than I am used to and that was so refreshing. I just loved those aspects and I can’t wait to read more of her books to see what else she has up her sleeve!

Thanks Fur Last Night is full of standalones, dual points of view, and happily-ever-afters. It was a fantastic anthology and I completely loved it!

I feel so privileged to read these extraordinary journeys from the very heart of each exquisite author in this collection. I can’t wait to see what each of them creates next!

Despite the insanely cheesy title, I still read this one. I do love an anthology and this one features stories from three authors whose work I've previously enjoyed. Overall a good, fun read. 3.5/5

I absolutely adore shifter books and this one was no different.
Amazinly written.

I freely admit that I’m usually not a huge fan of anthologies. The benefit I see to them is that they get me outside my author comfort zone and expose me to authors I might never get a chance to read. This book really gave me a great set of 3 books, each with their own quirky and wonderful world. I definitely enjoyed them all, which was kind of a shock. Usually in sets there is at least one weak player, but these were all just… so… good!

Bearing his sin sounds like the title of something serious and sad. Luckily, this was completely not the case. From the first few paragraphs I knew that I love this author. The sarcastic wit, the wonderful banter, and the dark humor all wrapped up into a delicious burrito of awesomeness. I immediately added this author to my “to-read” pile. This book involves a hit man bear shifter, a Russian tough chick, and tons of interesting characters. I loved every second.

Bought by the Bear was slightly less silly and more serious, but still filled with great characters. This story involves Josilyn, a single mom trying to make ends meet when she’s approached with a job pretending to be someone’s mate. Obviously, there is a wonderful romance element but also tons of smutty goodness. There’s even a mystery at work!

The last book, The Alpha and I, takes place in the middle of nowhere, during a bunch of snow storms, where a lone woman rescues the big bad alpha werewolf. These two have some hot, quick, mating and are forced into some battles where they have to fight for their lives. While probably the least quirky of the bunch, it was still fun to read.

This anthology begins with Eve Langlais at her snarky best in Bearing His Sins. I adored this story. It was full of humor, off-beat humor at that. I mean Cole was alpha but off the wall and Anja was just as crazy. But don't let their wackiness catch you unprepared because both were kick ass characters. I loved the interaction between Cole and Anja. I also loved babushka in practically every scene Ms. Langlais had her in. She was what many women should aspire to. She took no prisoners and protecting her family required any means necessary. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and hope Ms. Langlais will return to this world in the future.
In Bought by the Bear by Milly Taiden, Josie is struggling to keep her head above water. She has lost her job, she has lost her reputation, she has lost her sister but she will fight to keep her nephew. While she is leering about it, she agrees to allow Nick to purchase her time to give herself breathing room. I really enjoyed Milly Taiden's contribution to this anthology. Josie is hard-working and honest. She loves her nephew and keeping him healthy and happy is her focus. Finding Nick wasn't in the cards but the chemistry once she did is off the charts. I love that Ms. Taiden gave Josie someone who appreciated her. Nick wasn't expecting to actually meet his mate but he was more than ready when she comes. I enjoyed seeing Josie and Nick find their way. Ms. Taiden gave us a well written enjoyable story and I hope she will return to this world in the future.
Devon ran for a safer life never expecting to find a future. In The Alpha and I by Kate Baxter, Devon finds an unexpected love; now can she survive long enough to enjoy it? I enjoyed meeting Devon and Liam in this story by Ms. Baxter. Liam wasn't expecting to find his mate, especially as danger surround him. Ms. Baxter allowed Liam to get to know Devon under difficult circumstances but I enjoyed the journey. This story was well-written and enjoyable. I look forward to reading Ms. Baxter in the future.

I found this collection overall quite lacking and a little unbalanced. The violence that the first story started with was off-putting, and I had trouble continuing on as a result. And, unfortunately, I didn't find that it got much better from there. I was drawn to this collection because I like reading shifter romance, but this collection lacked much romance in the first story, and a lot of sense in all three. Not a fan.

I just love puns! When authors give their books puny titles, not only does it make me smile but I have to read it too.

Bearing His Sin by Eve Langlais
It seems author Eve Langlais loves her puns. Her books have a way of making me laugh and turn the heat up at the same time. She keeps me wanting more in all her books, this one was not a disappointment. Bearing His Sin was very entertaining, with silly dialog that made me laugh out loud and of course I had to read it again to y husband; he really thinks I’m crazy at times. Cole and Anja are the perfect couple, as entertaining as they are I think Anja’s babushka had me shooting my coffee out my nose. If you like PNR with a silly spin to it than this is a book you will enjoy, I know I did! I give this story 4.5 star.

Bought by the Bear by Milly Taiden
This is such a cute story. I liked Josie and her nephew Nick’s love for each other. I also liked the accidental lover/found my mate story line, very cute. Our hero Xander isn’t your typical rich man; he’s more like a man-child with lots of money. This is the reason he hires Josie to be his fake mate. I thought for the length of the story the characters were well developed. This story does have some action and mystery which made it hard to put down. A very enjoyable read! I give this story 3.5 star.

The Alpha and I by Kate Baxter
This is a well written story though I wished this one was a bit longer. I felt some of the story was missing and was too rushed. I’m sure I’m not the only reader out there that was like “Where did the dog go?” I’m sure it’s just me. But you can only fit so much in with a novella. I give this story 3 stars.

Out of the three stories’ I do have to say Eve Langlais had me from the start. Her story just made me laugh and was very entertaining throughout the entire story from beginning to end.
