Three spectacularly paranormal romances comprised in one novel
Thanks Fur Last Night (2018) is an anthology, comprised of three whimsical paranormal novels, published under the St. Martin’s Press imprint. Will undoubtedly keep you entertained.
Bearing His sin, written by Eve Langlais was surely her funniest novel yet. When Cole was hired to kill Anja, he found it very difficult to do, especially when he learned she was his mate. Now, some idiot if after her to marry him. So, Cole does what he does best…. kill morons. This novel was a fun read. With quick banter and hot chemistry between the two main characters. What took this story over the top was the fun-loving grandmother who made this story even better.
Bought by the Bear written by Milly Taiden, I don’t know much about this author. Nevertheless, this novel she penned for this anthology was certainly a good choice to add. This story was a second chance love with a heartwarming plot. When Josilyn Martinez was willed to raise her nephew after her sister and husband was killed in a freak accident. She was determined to keep that promise. But her messing divorce have left her struggle with finances, and if she doesn’t come up with enough money she just might lose custody of her nephew. So, when she had the chance to pose as a shifter mate to Xander, she jumped at the chance.
Xander has a problem. He must find a mate before his grandmother arrives. He knows that she worried about him settling down. So, he hires an agency to find him a fake mate, just long enough to put his grandmother’s mind at easy. But he was never expecting for them to find Josilyn…. who turns out to be his true mate. Now, he must make her realize that they belong together.
This story was a quick solid read. With a mystery to be solved. The characters and the plot were well thought out. The only downside was the cheesy ending. But overall a nice story overall.
The Alpha and I, written by Bate Baxter, another new author for me. Who brought the tale of a second chance at love story to life. This was another solid story that has Devon finding love where she least expected. Driving home in a blizzard after closing her small-town bar, she never expected on the drive home to come across a naked bleeding man – in the snow. She later learns that Liam Murphy wasn’t like any other male she ever met.
Liam Murphy wasn’t your ordinary werewolf, he was the Alpha whose pack is under attack by a deadly bear shifter out on revenge against Liam. The last thing he expects was to find his mate in an isolated town. Now, that he found his mate. Liam must convince her that she belongs in his world, while trying to keep her safe. Because, the bear shifter who was out to kill Liam has now picked up Devon scent.
All three stories were a joy to read. Which never happens in anthologies. Normal I find only one, maybe two stories. But, to find three delightful enjoyable stories was a surprise.
Thanks Fur Last Night will provide hours of entertainment to those who love to read paranormal romance.
I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did!

Three great stories by 3 amazing authors!!! I truly enjoyed each authors stories, they seem to branch of other stories, but are easily read alone.

Three funny and entertaining HEA shifter/werewolf love stories.

Bearing His Sins by Eve Langlais:
A bear shifter `Assasin for hire` found his "Viking babe".
Their banter is funny, blatant and dirty. Add their crazy, noisy
and annoying bear and tiger family and you can`t stop laughing.
...And at the end his sins will bite the alpha bear .... hard.

Bought by the Bear by Milly Taiden:
A fake girlfriend turns out to be `the true mate`.
And the alpha bear, who is used to get what he wants, has to worry about his
playboy den with `the Twister shower` ... Hilarious!

The Alpha and I by Kate Baxter:
A women rescued a nacked and unconscious alpha werewolf during a blizzard.
For her, he is wearing a T-shirt with the image of a unicorn leaping over a rainbow...

I revieved an ARC from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

4.5 stars - Hot, thrilling and fun. Lions, tigers and bears, oh my! Ok, no lions, but werewolves and bad guys too. Sometimes compilations are a mix bag of good to not so much, that was not the case here. All these stories are well-written, attention grabbers that keep you engaged throughout. I enjoyed every minute of reading pleasure.

I received an ARC of this book, from the publisher, via NetGalley, in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Even though I don't normally like to read novellas, usually because they are too rushed, I have to say I really enjoyed this paranormal anthology. I had previously read and enjoyed books by Eve Langlais and Milly Taiden but Kate Baxter was new to me. All three shifter stories were the perfect length, just enough for a good story and character development so that I didn't feel cheated as I often do with novellas. A great introduction to the work of all three authors if you've never read them.

I received a copy of Thanks Fur Last Night by Eve Langlais, Milly Taiden, and Kate Baxter from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I found the summary for this novel to be very intriguing, and although the execution was not completely polished, it was still an enjoyable read!

This is a great compilation of some of my fave authors! I so enjoyed the stories! You can read the books in any order and they don't feel like they're short stories at all. Happy sigh.

I like how OTT Cola and Anya are. And how Xander and Josie interact with each other. I also enjoyed the way Liam and Devon seem to just fit.

I have my fave story of course. But I'll let you decide for yourself which you like the best. Read it! Read it! Read it!

I received an ARC of the story for my honest review.

Bearing His Sin by Eve Langlais
This one is my favorite in this anthology. Cole is an assassin for hire, he was born for this job and is quite content. Then he meets Anja and her grandmother..... let's just say he did in fact contemplate killing his own mate. But soon the lines cross between love and hate, and sparks are flying!

Danger, Sex, Intrigue.

4 Stars

Bought by the Bear by Milly Taiden
While raising her young nephew, Josie's ex husband took everything from her, leaving her broke. Xander is living the good life, but his grandmother won't get off his back about finding a mate. Thus hires Josie as his fake mate. Only to find out, she IS HIS MATE.

A cute steamy read.

The Alpha and I by Kate Baxter

Devon is living life to the fullest, in a small town. Until one day she finds an injured naked man only to realize he is a werewolf. As he is healing he figures out Devon is his mate. And to desperately try to tell her the truth of his kind and try to get her to leave with him.

Sweet and sexy.

This is an anthology and will review each novella separately.

Bearing His Sin - Eve Langlais
This is exactly what I have come to expect from Eve Langlais, strong characters and laughter. Cole and his attitude towards life and his chosen career kept me giggling throughout the book. Anja was his perfect match and I loved seeing them fall for each other.

Bought by the Bear - Milly Taiden
Xander needs a fake mate, Josilyn needs money to help support her nephew. They agree to help each other out, but of course Josilyn turns out to be his actual mate. Watching Xander try to convince her of this was so fun. She has been hurt in the past and moving on shows the strength of her character. Excellent story.

The Alpha and I - Kate Baxter
Kate Baxter is a new to me author, but enjoyed her writing. Devon is just trying to make her way in life in an isolated town and is happy with the way it is going. Until she meets a beat up, bleeding naked Liam. When she finds out he is a werewolf, she realizes her life is going to change drastically. The story moved along at a great pace and I enjoyed the world that was built up around them.

Three novellas about shape shifters from three great authors. My favorite Eve Langlais and her Bearing His Sins was awesome. Laugh out loud as always. Whenever I need something fun, sexy and easy to read I go to EL. I love her writing style and humor.
Bought by the Bear by Milly Taiden was not a good one for me. I didn’t care for the story and it felt rushed and violent and complicated for a novella.
The Alpha and I by Kate Baxter was ok read. Not many surprises and felt familiar. Nothing new here

I’m a sucker for a punny title so I immediately snapped up Thanks Fur Last Night when offered by St. Martin’s Press. To my delight, the first book in the anthology was by Eve Langlais. No one writes snarky, sneaky heroines and crazy over the top alphas who banter and insult each other without blinking an eye like Eve Langlais. Bearing His Sin was one of her snappiest, with a rude bear-shifter assassin lumbering and lusting after a foul-mouthed farmer girl. This was snort-your-drink-out funny and made me want to re-read my Eve Langlais e-library.

The following two stories, Brought By The Bear by Milly Taiden and The Alpha and I by Kate Baxter, had sweet, protective shifter alphas wooing sweet, innocent humans; a very different turn from the sarcastic violence of the first story. They were enjoyable but suffered in comparison by following the explosively funny of .

4 stars for Bearing His Sin + 2 stars for Brought By The Bear + 2.5 stars for The Alpha and I = 3.5 stars

This was a big hit or miss. The first story by Eve Langlais was the miss for me. The writing and characterization was way way over the top. It was jarring how campy it was and I found nothing at all redeeming about the characters. The other two stories were enjoyable and the men and women were both strong and likeable.

Overall for all three stories I'd rate this book at 4.5 stars!!!
Thanks Fur Last Night is a trio of shifter novella's. This is a standalone book.
Bearing His Sins by Eve Langlais
I'd rate this story at 4.75 stars! Is Cole and Anya's story. Cole is a bear shifter and Anya is the daughter of a Russian mobster and her grandmother runs off and has her hidden from her grandfather. To get away from a life of hiding and a betrothal she must go back to Russia to get out from under her grandfather's thumb. I love the author and her over the top comedy with her characters. I know anytime I read one of her books, no matter how bad of a mood I'm in it will cheer me up and this book is no exception! I really enjoyed the characters, I love the comedy in the book, but you also get a fair amount of action and romance. I enjoyed the chemistry between the characters, the only thing that would have made this book better would have been a little more story about them at the end. Otherwise great story!!
Bought by the Bear by Milly Taiden
I'd rate this story at 4.5 stars! Xander needs to find a mate fast so that he can get his grandmother to sign over her portion of their company to him. In order to do this he puts out an add with specific requirements. Josilyn is down on her luck thanks to her slimy ex-husband who ruined her due to his petty jealousy. When Josilyn's friend see's the add through her company she gets Josilyn to apply, little do they know she's the perfect fit. This story was very enjoyable, not the comedy that you get from the first story. But you will get a good story, some action/adventure and of course romance. The characters had pretty good chemistry and were enjoyable to read about. Again, the book ends but needs more, doesn't feel finished which is again my gripe about the story.
The Alpha and I by Kate Baxter
I would rate this story at 4 stars! Devon up and moved two states away to get away from her controlling ex. What she isn't expecting, is while driving home in a snow storm, to find an unconscious man naked in the snow. This book is full of action and suspense. The characters are very enjoyable, the chemistry between them is good. I have two gripes with this book the first being a lot of typo's and the second is the same I've said from the first two stories, the story ended and didn't give enough ending.
Otherwise I really enjoyed the book all around and I would definitely recommend! Hope this helps! Happy Reading!!!

Thanks fur last night is three novellas concerning bear and wolf shifters.
Bearing his sins involves a bear shifter, has an ok storyline with some witty dialogue.
Brought by the bear is another good bear shifter read, involving Xander who hires Josilyn as his pretend mate to keep his grandmother happy and off his back.
But my favourite of the three is The Alpha and I. LIam a shifter wolf and alpha of his pack is found injured by Devon after being attacked. As he recovers very quickly he immediately realised that Devon is his mate, all he has to do is convince her and introduce her to werewolves and other shifters. Not as easy as he thinks it will be!

Book 1 - Bearing His Sin
1 star
It was so bad. I'm shocked I finished it. He was horrible. Her grandmother saved it from zero stars. It was disjointed and was all over the place. Then the ending just sucked and then it was left open I guess for another book.

Book 2 - Bought by the Bear
2 stars
There was a better story line, but still lacked a lot. Then ending was just eh. What is it with grandmas? His was hilarious. I'm guessing there's another book with his business partner and cousin hooking up.

Book 3 - The Alpha and I
3 stars
Best of the three stories. Lots of story with an epilogue, but the epilogue sucked.

Paranormal stories are my favorite type of reads, so I was more than excited to get the opportunity to read Thanks Fur Last Night. Overall, I really enjoyed 2 out of the 3 stories so my overall rating for all 3 stories is 4 stars!!!

Bearing HIs Sins by Eve Langlais (2 stars)
I think this is the perfect read for anyone who likes over the top romance shifter reads. This one will not disappoint in that regard. However, it wasn't what I expected. The characters were likable, and I laughed quite a few times at Cole, Anja and her Babushka (grandmother) but I wanted more. I couldn't connect with them. Everything with them was so over the top I just felt a little let down with this one. There were definitely steamy parts but I wanted more; something was missing for me.

Bought by the Bear by Milly Taiden (4.5 stars)
I really enjoyed this story. I liked the characters and the storyline, and even though the story was a short read, it flowed perfectly. This was another steamy story but I enjoyed the suspense and revenge within it. This story just connected for me in a way that that first story in this set didn't. Xander was definitely the hero, and Josilyn was a woman who deserved better that what she had. Xander gave her that, and I wanted more of their story. The ending was sweet. I would read more books from this author.

The Alpha and I by Kate Baxter. (4 stars)
This story was another hit for me. I enjoyed the story, the characters, their chemistry and the suspense within this story. It also doesn't lack with steamy scenes. Liam and Devon was such great characters. I also loved that Devon was a strong female character. The only thing I disliked about this story was the end because I wish it was longer. I would read more books from this author.

This set is a great way for readers to experience these authors work and they may just find their next favorite author. Even though every book wasn't a hit for me, 2 out of 3 isn't bad at all, and overall, I was happy when I finished this set.
