Well written but the story was nothing like what I expected it would be. It was however original and an enjoyable read and I can definitely see why some people would love it.

I won this book in a First Reads giveaway here on Goodreads and also got approved for it on NetGalley (I forgot I had requested it. Oops.)

The book focuses on two best friends, J.D. and George. J.D. is the stereotypical smart-mouthed playboy who gets what he wants and George is a nerdy loser who gets nowhere. The book reveals most of the plot by chapter 7 and then adds a bit more to much later on (somewhere near chapter 25). A lot of telling happens and the technical parts bored me. The climax/big action scene was ok and well described with some entertaining bit, but it still wasn't very exciting to me.

I had comepletely different expectations of the book based on the description. Maybe it's just me. I gave it 3 stars, but it's really a 2.5.

This book was original and in this day in time that is rare. Like many of the books I own, it immediately became a shelf orphan, being repeatedly passed over for books that I had checked out from the library. I mean, they have a definite due date, where the one's I own can be read anytime, right? Of course the problem with this is that you miss reading some really good books sometimes

Thank you for allowing me to read Drip: A Gothic Bromance, by Andrew Montlack. Business savvy, ladder climbing J.D. and his faithful, ordinary, tag along friend, George, have been friends since they were young boys. They wrangle their way into jobs at BrewCorp, where J.D. hopes to design the program to win him a V.P. position at any cost. George just hopes to survive, but surprises everyone when he is named V.P. And the action begins........

I'd recommend this for fans of Grasshopper Jungle or John Dies at the End, or someone looking for a slightly more literary (and fictional) type of story in the narrative vein of Assholes Finish First.

It is not my kind of book and I did not finish it. I lean towards supernatural fiction with strong female protagonists, but gave this one a chance because I heard there was vampires and I enjoy a good gothic tale. I didn't get further than 8% - not because the story wasn't any good, but because I could tell by then that it wouldn't be a book I'd personally enjoy.

There is a good sense of humor to the story, and I like the odd-coupleness between the two main characters. I imagine for the right type of reader, this will be a riot of a read and a rollicking good time.
