Bad Bachelor by Stefanie London
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Reed McMahon does not want any attachments. He is the king of one night stands. Darcy Greer is afraid of making another mistake by choosing the wrong man. This is a familiar trope with Reed the damaged soul and Darcy the unlikely choice. I enjoyed the story and the Bad Bachelor app is something that could show up at any time. First in a new series it provides background for this book and futures books in the series. A nice read but don't look for any surprises in how everything turns out. Story is very predictable.
I received a free copy of the book in return for an honest review.

This book contains both sex and cursing (including f-bombs) - if those things bother you, you should skip this one.
To tell the truth, I was unsure how this book premise was going to play out because the whole “Bad Bachelor” website concept felt sort of icky to me, but Ms. London eventually addresses all of the things that are so wrong about that kind of website and more, so if you're on the fence about the concept, you need not worry, it gets dealt with perfectly.
I loved Darcy and Reed. I don't say that lightly, I really loved them. This book is pretty long for the romance genre, and it comes to a complete and wonderful conclusion, but I found myself feeling disappointed as the book drew to a close because I just wanted *more* of them together. Reed was complex and so incredibly likable that I found myself rooting for him from the start despite the (absolutely hilarious) reviews of his, uh, relationship performances. And Darcy was extremely likable from start to finish, but the highlight was the banter between these two. Although they were great apart, when they were on the page they were combustible, and I found myself laughing out loud as I read – that's the sign of a great book.
Hopefully this becomes a series (I assume Annie and Remi will get books, but I would love to read Cynthia's story, too!) and that we find out these two really did live happily ever after because I just love them together.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good enemies-to-lovers story and a fresh new idea in this day and age of the same-old-same-old in the romance genre. Five honest, not at all biased (unlike the Bad Bachelor contributors) stars.

This story was perfect, I love the frenemies to lovers storyline and this book was absolute perfection. From the minute Darcy meets Reed she has preconceived notions about him. She did after all read about him being number one on a bad bachelor app, he definitely did not have any good reviews if you thought you wanted a relationship with him. Reed meets Darcy when he shows up at the library she works at and offers to run a fundraiser for her library. Even though they are opposites there was an attraction between the two. But Darcy knew to stay away because of the reviews on that app. The banter between these two was awesome. Just the way they went back and forth you could sense the sexual tension even though they both wanted to deny it. It was nice seeing Darcy’s strained relationship with her mom somewhat mirror Reed’s relationship with his dad. When Reed and Darcy finally got together it was HOT. This book will definitely be a re read for me, I loved everything about this book. My only complaint was that it had to end.

My first read from this author but certainly not my last.
I adored the unique spin on this romance story.. A fuck the world feisty librarian Darcy and a brooding cock sure PR hotshot Reed. This story really puts forward not to judge a book by its cover (or by gossip from dating sites in Reeds case).
I really enjoyed both characters. I luuuurvd that slow burn romance that had the I hate you but I want to fuck you vibe stamped all over it. That sizzling hot build up to the inevitable explosion of pent up sexual frustration was sooooooo worth the wait. It was freaking hot hot hot!!!!. I loved the back and forth bickering and banter, the super sweet moments they connected to eachothers struggles and even the moments they kinda really hated eachother. They are so easy to connect to as a couple and individuals that it made it so easy to believe in their chemistry, relate to their struggles and fall in love with them as a couple.
My annoyance is with the friend! I won't say to much however she pissed me off and I knew it was coming!.
It didn't affect my enjoyment of the story however it did make me feel more sympathetic towards Reed. That's not to say he wasn't an asshole because he totally is on more than a few occasions. However Darcy wasn't a saint either so for me it was an even playing field.
Over all I really enjoyed the story. It's written well with a unique spin that sucked me in from the first page. I enjoyed the variety of emotions and connected to the main characters, I think the author did a great job of getting that across to us as readers. There are a few niggly bits that peeved me off but as a whole I loved it. The sarcasm, the humour. The constant inuendos and banter between Reed and Darcy.. I'd definitely read it again for sure. I'm looking forward to what's next if this is to become a series.

This book was a lot of fun to read. I have not read any of Stefanie's other works, but I will have to grab them. She crafts fun characters and light romances that you really fall for.
I kind of figured out where this one was going, and even with having predicted that, I still really enjoyed it.
What would you do if you were rated NYC's Worst Bachelor, based on an app that was spreading like wildfire? Oh wait, add to that fact that you are a PR exec and it is literally you life and job on the line as a result fo the repercussions of this app?
You do what you do best.
Super fun read with a really great idea for an app.
I hope we get more in this world, I think there is a lot of ways the author could take it, bu if not I really enjoyed this adventure.

Cute read. A little darker than I expected from this author and not funny at all but still not a bad way to spend 5 hours.

Great book! Is fun and sexy. Reed and Daisy encounters are bicker and funny. I enjoy reading this and recommend it.

I really loved the writing style and the plot but I am not one for tattoos so this did not really hold my attention for too long. I really wanted to read more but I just couldn't get my self to. I hope to read more by this author soon.

Darcy Greer needs help with fundraising and enter PR rep Reed McMahan who has PR issues of his own. Darcy fights his help while fighting her attraction to Reed even more. A great contemporary romance that you won’t want to put down.

I had to re-read the first part to fully understand what I was reading about, and that I understood it correctly—that the story revolves around an app called Bad Bachelor, which basically rates New York's Bachelors on how they treat their dates. Personally, I thought it was ridiculous and unfair, because even though Men can be jerks they are still human and like how the story went, it wasn't full-proof that these women were indeed 100% truthful in their reviews—like I said, it was unfair...and it was exactly how the male protagonist felt.
So this story is about Reed McMahon, PR guru, the Bad Bachelor—who is more than what meets the eye... and Darcy Greer, a passionate, and tattooed librarian who just wants to finally forget the past and live anew. They met doing a project together for the library and then evolved from there.
This was my first time to read something from Stefanie London... The concept of the story was definitely unique to me and overall I loved it... I loved how the characters were written... that Reed, despite his playboy ways, was close to his father... that Darcy was able to overcome her emotional baggage... that despite the ridiculousness of the so-called app, there was humor and heart in it... It was all kinds of sweet and light. I'm definitely going to check more of Stefanie's work.

I really enjoyed this novel. It had an original framework built around the idea of an app that women can use to rate New York City bachelors. PR executive Reed McMahan has becoming the lead “bad bachelor” on the app as all sorts of anonymous people are posting remarks about how he is great in bed but won’t commit to anything more. Such an app seems ripe for misuse and it does seem that women who knew up front that he wasn’t about anything more than a one-night stand, still want to badmouth him anonymously online. But the bad comments are hurting him on the job and with the possible romance he seems to be building with an unlikely woman, Darcy Greer.
He is supposed to be helping her raise money for the community library where she works. He’s attracted to the differences between her prim librarian persona and the pierced tongue and tattoos. It does seem like an unlikely combination, but just go with it.
Both characters are damaged and not like they seem on the surface. I liked the idea of the Bad Bachelor as a plot device, but worry about the idea of such an app in real life. Too much damage can be done by anonymous posters.
Enjoy this enemies-to-lovers romance.

4 Wine Glass ARC #Review of Bad Bachelor by Stefanie London
*Post will go live 03/05/2018 @ 8pm EST
Stefanie London introduces readers to a campy cast of characters and a new dating app that is taking NYC by storm in this fun contemporary romance, Bad Bachelor, where two unlikely hearts collide!
Reed McMahon is a public relations guru and partner in one of New York's biggest PR firms, keeping his elite clientele in a positive light while earning enough money to keep his father's medical bills paid. When his personal life and is professional life collide though, Reed must work his own PR magic on himself in order to save his job and his reputation.
Darcy Greer may have been burned in the past, but with the help of her two best friends and Bad Bachelors, she is ready to get back into the dating scene. When she comes face-to-face with Bad Bachelor #1 Reed McMahon though, Darcy finds herself questioning her own assumptions, and the intentions of the mysterious writer behind Bad Bachelors.
Can this feisty librarian let down the walls she has erected around her heart to find the happily ever after that she's only read about? Or will Reed let the demons of his past rule, and loose his one shot at love?
Bad Bachelor was an enjoyable read with a refreshing plot for the romance genre that you won't want to miss! Reed and Darcy were wonderfully flawed characters that stumbled greatly around each other in the beginning, but found their footing as the story progressed. The slow-burning, frienemies turned lovers romance between these two was tantalizing. I really enjoyed the wit and sarcasm that this pair shared, as well as the taut sexual tension that was evident from first meeting. Darcy's spunk continually kept Reed on his toes, while Reed's arrogance was both amusing and a constant frustration for Darcy! There is definitely more then meets the eye to these two characters though, and New York's #1 Bad Bachelor just might be the hidden catch of the city.
This was my first read from Stefanie London, who delivered a well-written, sexy and entertaining story. The underlying mystery of the woman behind Bad Bachelors kept the plot moving at a good pace. While the twist was surprising, I can't say that it is one that I really liked. However, Bad Bachelor spotlights the good and bad of social media applications which I thought was great. How they can be used to find exactly what you're looking for, but also how they can be abused by those with cruel intentions. All in all, this was a good read and I am looking forward to more from this series and it's author!

This was a great first read by author Stefanie London. The story was predictable, but I loved the added humor and premise behind the story.
Reed is a PR guru, but his persona has taken a nosedive after the "Bad Bachelors" app has him listed as the worse bachelor. Basically, women can rate the men they've dated and leave reviews - like a Yelp for dating. Reed goes through women quickly though and apparently has broken a lot of hearts and now his job is being threatened if he doesn't improve his own image soon. Reed agrees to help fundraise for the local library, even though he hates libraries, but since it's a favor to his assistant, he agrees.
That's when Reed meets Darcy, the tattooed, pierced, ratty jeans wearing librarian. Darcy's heart was broken a year ago and she doesn't exactly trust men. So when the 'too handsome for his own good' Reed strolls into the library offering to help them do some much-needed fundraising, she's skeptical and doesn't fall easily for his charms.
I loved Darcy. Yes, she had her heart broken and her self-doubt was a bit annoying at times, but she was definitely full of personality and desire to just be herself. Now Reed was a different story. It took me a long while to warm up to him because he was just flat out mean at times. But knowing his story, I got it, just wish he could have been a bit nicer.
Even though Reed finds Darcy to be stubborn and annoyingly cute, he's not about to get involved in a relationship. Darcy is the same way. They're both broken individuals, hurt by the people who they loved and the whole book they're back-and-forth with their feelings and unwillingness to make the next step.
But again, it's predictable and in the end, it all works out. The ending is very sweet and it was nice to see how they complimented each other and helped the other heal from their past wounded souls. The only thing that surprised me was who is behind the Bad Bachelors app. I didn't see that one coming. I'll definitely be reading more by Stefanie London in the future.
Disclaimer, I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I still had about 100 pages left to read, and found myself sneaking reading time at work- that and I pre-ordered the book for our customers! Refreshing story line that wasn't a typical billionaire/working girl story. Not rushed and the author pulled you in to relate with the characters. Definitely recommend and am currently stalking out her other books to read. The second book in what I'm guessing will ultimately be a trilogy can't come soon enough!

As a librarian I loved the unique librarian character, not a stereotype. This was a fun, read with interesting characters with real issues, but not so much it wasn't the happy ending escapist read.

I really hope that there will be more books about the Bad Bachelor's, of NYC. Reed was a refreshing difference from the normal womanizer. He doesn't hide the fact that he likes women and doesn't want any commitments. He's not even trying to change his ways. He just wants the lies to stop. When Darcy sees the other side of his life that he doesn't show to many people, he does something that he'll regret. The question is, what will he do to make it better?

Loved it! there was a tiny bit of WHY DON'T THEY JUST TALK, but for the most part their communication or lack thereof was not the source of their problems, and I greatly appreciate that in a romance.

Nothing worse than a grudge and using the latest app to get your Bitchin out... Reed has become infamous... and not because of good reasons... so he needs to clean up his image...Hmmm what would work...
Why doing a Library Fundraiser and there being a sweet Librarian cannot hurt at all...But What... she is not giving him any chance to show his real concern...
Tables turn and these people end up seeing each other for who they really are... not their image. Cute

This book was fun from start to finish! Darcy might be a librarian, but she's a librarian with plenty of sassitude and she doesn't take any ish, especially once she realizes who is standing in front of her to help with a fundraiser: Reed, who just happens to bearing the brunt of negativity on a new dating app by someone with a grudge (whether Reed is responsible for that negativity you'll have to read to discover for yourself). I loved the chemistry between Darcy and Reed and how the story was laid out from start to finish, and the few twists that were thrown definitely kept me swiping on my iPad. I would highly recommend this book!
