Sometimes I lie by Alice Feeney is a psychological dark thriller that you don't want to miss out on.

The beginning says it all , My name is Amber, I am in a coma and my husband doesn't love me anymore . Followed by Sometimes I lie
With that the story begins as Amber lies in a coma but she can hear what is going on around here as her husband Paul and her sister Claire discuss her accident. No one is aware that she is listening.
The book goes back and forth from when she was 8 or 9 , to just before the accident, and then the hospital

The characters you don't always love them or even like them but what is that is so sinister and what is that you are missing as Amber struggles to figure out what happened to her. Who is out to kill her ?

This book had more twists and turns , ups and downs that keep you turning the pages. You think you know what happened to Amber but you wont have it all right. Don't miss this one. I loved it

This was a highly addictive and original thiller.
I thought it was one of the best books that I have read this year.
I can’t stop telling everyone I know about this book.
I couldn’t believe that this was the author’s 1st book.
I see that the author has another novel due out in 2019 called “Sometimes I Kill” and I can’t wait to read that book.

Where do I begin? This book grabbed me from day one and I did little else in my life while trying to finish it. So well-written. The author's prose are so thoughtful and poetic. Full of twists and turns. Alternates between the past and present. Keeps you guessing until the bitter end. It was one of those books that I thought about even after finishing. Would be a great book club book. Highly recommend! You won't regret taking the time.

This was a really enjoyable psychological thriller. There were several twists in the book that I didn't see coming. The story is told between now" when Amber is in a coma through dream sequences and "then" during the days leading up to Amber ending up in the coma. It also has some diary entries thrown in there from childhood that really added to the story and the suspense.

My biggest criticism is because of the ending. At the very end there is yet another twist, but I don't seem to understand it. I thought I might have just missed something, so I looked on Google and at other reviews on Goodreads, but apparently no one is quite clear on what the ending meant. Perhaps a sequel is in the works?

Thanks to the publisher for an advanced readers copy via Netgalley.

I shot through this book in two days. Highly suspenseful, it's full of twists and turns and red herrings and mystery. It's definitely entertaining, although I think the last twist was one too many and actually made the book much weaker than it could have been otherwise. Trigger warning for those who have experienced sexual violence.

Taut and suspenseful are two words that accurately describe this engaging psychological thriller. It was well thought out and I felt I was holding my breath sometimes trying to figure what the heck was going on. There is much more than meets the eye in this story. The main character, Amber Reynolds, is obviously unbalanced from the start of the book but how about all the other people involved in the story? Amber tells you from the beginning she is a liar but what should we believe or not believe to be true? As others have mentioned, I don't to give too much away in a review-the reader needs to go into this one blind. I thoroughly recommend for anyone who does not mind crazy in their reading material.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for a chance to read and review this book.

4.5 Stars. A roller coaster ride of twists and turns that absolutely stunned me! Amber is lying in a coma, as she lies there she cannot respond to doctors, her husband or sister as she tries to piece the events that led up to her being in the hospital. What transpires throughout this novel is a story filled with deception, lies and paybacks that make for a fantastic psychological thriller, so much happens that I cannot begin to put into words my review it just has to be read and I'm still reeling from it. Recommended.

Thanks to author Alice Feeney for writing this stunning book and NetGalley for providing a copy in exchange for my review.

I received a paperback ARC from Flatiron Books and MacMillan. At the same time, I received an advanced digital copy from the author / Flatiron Books / Netgalley. Many, many thanks to all!

If you like psychological thrillers, then make sure you read this one. This is a well written book with many unexpected twists and turns. I really liked how it bounced from today, pre-accident years and the recent past. The characters are memorable.

Amber Reynolds is in a coma following some kind of auto accident. She is a prisoner in her body .. she can't talk, she can't move, but she can hear and she can think.

She knows what happened to her was not an accident. So who was responsible ... her husband who she thinks is having an affair ... her possessive sister ... an old boyfriend? And why?

Trying to separate the lies from the truth, from the child she was to the adult she is, is an intertwining puzzle that will leave the reader surprised, stunned, confused. This one is in my top ten of best books read this year.

This book grabbed my interest from the beginning and held it to the very end. Lots of twists and turns and just when you think you have it figured out.....you have to remember the title "Sometimes I Lie". What is the truth, what is a lie? Highly recommended.

WOW!!!!!

This is definitely one of my top 5 books of this year. I loved every minute of it and could not put it down.

This book made me think that Alice Feeney knows EXACTLY what I want in my books! Seriously. Unreliable narrator? Check! Unlikable characters? Check! Twists and turns galore? Check! This is book perfection in my eyes.

I will not get into the plot of this novel because it's best you go into it blind. So many secrets. So many lies. Who is telling the truth? You are not going to want to have anything spoiled for you. Trust me.

All the stars and highly recommended if you like psychological thrillers.

Thank you to NetGalley for proving me with a digital ARC in exchange for my honest review.

'My name is Amber Reynolds. There are three things you should know about me:

Wowza!! Hooked right away. I just finished this book and am blown away! So very clever! This is a debut?! Whaaaat?! I am wowed! A truly clever and gripping psychological thriller! This book was unputdownable for me. I started this yesterday afternoon and just finished this morning. This book is one of the best twisty psychological thrillers I've read in some time. Author is truly brilliant. I will be watching for her future books!

Do yourself a favor and go in blind! Stop reading reviews, just trust me, save them for after. This story is told through Amber, while lying in a hospital bed in a coma. The characters were brilliant and you don't know who to trust. I tore through this book and am sad I read it so fast. 5+ stars!

I would like to thank Flatiron Books and NetGalley for allowing me an advanced copy of this book! This is going to be a widely talked about and anticipated book for 2018! Great job to the author!

Hold up, let me pick my jaw up from the floor please. Wow.

Alice Feeney's Sometimes I Lie is a prime example of how unreliable narrators should be! We start the story with Amber Reynolds in a coma fighting for her life and confused as to how she got there. Her sister Claire and husband Paul are both extremely worried for her and can't provide any additional information on how Amber ended up in the hospital. The points of view for Sometimes I Lie balance between current day comatose state Amber, the events leading up to how she ended up in the hospital, and a series of diary entries from the early 1990s. Together, each storyline compiles together to provide you with a robust, deeply rooted, and engaging narrative.

I really can't go into the plot more than I already have and trust me, you'll thank me for that later. One of the best unreliable narrators that has ever been provided to me is in this story. There were moments where I was completely shocked, confused, and engaged—all because this story is just one big puzzle, slowly giving you puzzle pieces as the story moves on. I enjoyed trying to follow the story, while being given a new sliver of information along the way. Sometimes I Liestarted a little slow and disjointed for me which is why I cannot give this a full 5 star rating, but once the story began to unfold I was hooked! Sometimes I Lie can provide you all the similar characteristics that you've come to love about a psychological thriller, but without all the unnecessary secondary plotlines that are regurgitated from past novels to elongate the narrative. It's a quick read, but also very enchantingly dark.

Thank you Netgalley and Flatiron Books for this advance copy in exchange for my honest review.

I received a copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Wow. What a roller coaster ride! Twists and turns that I did not see coming. I did have one part figured out, but the wrong reason.

This book was well written, and fast paced. Character development was fantastic. The flash backs to the past helped clarify what was going on in the future, but added that twist to the story that made it impossible to put down.

Could not put this book down.

Sometimes I Lie starts out fascinating and remains so until it’s almost over, when what is really going on is revealed. I found that revelation to be a cheap trick which completely ruined the book for me. It just became stupid.

Perhaps other readers will find what appears to be a suspenseful story about a woman in a coma intriguing. I did not.

I received this book as an ARC from NetGalley and am under no obligation to write a positive review.

like a book that keeps me off-center, guessing who is trustworthy and who is, ultimately the villain. In this story, the main character, Amber Reynolds, is in a coma. She may appear to be out of it, but she can hear everything going on around her. Amber knows her husband doesn’t love her anymore, she’s honest with herself about that, but not much else. Amber likes to lie. This is a twisted masterpiece of a thriller. I can;t say too much more without giving away the plot, just do yourself a favor and pick up this book!

This was given to me by Netgalley, in exchange for an honest review. I normally purchase every book that I review, but not this one! It is truly dispicable, sadistic, insane. I find nothing redeeming in this book! I , personally, do not recommend! Thanks!

**Thanks to NetGalley for providing me a complimentary copy of SOMETIMES I LIE by Alice Feeney in exchange for my honest review**

We know three things about Amber.
1. She’s in a coma.
2. Her husband doesn’t love her.
3. Sometimes she lies.

Amber narrates from before and after Christmas, in between are chapters from a childhood diary that I don’t want to spoil by telling any more of the plot. I had my doubts through the first chapters not knowing what was truth and what was lie, who were the heroes, who the villains. I was wrong about almost everything.

Feeney crafted such truly unique, twisted psychological conundrum. Don’t read too many reviews, but do read SOMETIMES I LIE.

I thought I had this book figured out but I wasn't prepared for this author's trickery!

This story's blurb drew me in, but I was already hooked after reading the first page. The writing style was tight, easy to read, the book unputdownable, the story deliciously twisted! I only wished that I'd liked the narrator more. By the end of the story, I sort of felt neutral towards Amber. She could've walked off a cliff and I would've happily waved goodbye to her.

The ending wrapped up too neatly but this was a thrilling read! Enjoyed!
