"806" by Cynthia Weil is a heartfelt and engaging young adult novel that explores themes of identity, family, and self-discovery with a refreshing blend of humor and poignancy. Weil's protagonist, KT, embarks on a unique and often humorous journey to find her biological father, setting the stage for a series of adventures and unexpected revelations. The narrative is filled with well-drawn characters whose quirks and complexities add depth and authenticity to the story.

Weil's writing is crisp and accessible, making it easy for readers to connect with KT's experiences and emotions. The plot moves at a lively pace, with just the right balance of suspense and heartwarming moments. "806" tackles the complexities of family dynamics and the search for identity in a way that feels both genuine and relatable.

Overall, "806" is a delightful read that will resonate with readers of all ages, particularly those who enjoy stories about family, friendship, and finding one's place in the world. I thought this book was cute. I liked the character growth throughout and the storyline in general was done really well. I like road trip stories, so this one was fun to read.

This story was good! It didn’t blow me out of the water, but it was enjoyable to read. I was definitely expecting a bit more from it, so it did fall a little short, but overall I am still pleased with this read and would recommend to a friend.

I was hoping for something more deep then this turned out to be. It was fun but not really my style on the grand scheme of things.

I would love to thank NetGalley, Cynthia Weil and Tanglewood Publishing for this ARC in exchange of an honest review.

Unfortunately this book didn't resonate with me. I'm outgrowing YA that is predictable.
The premise did sound really interesting, but I did not manage to get very far until I realised this is not a book I will continue.

However, this could be other's favourite book, so take this mini-review with a grain of salt.

Sibling 1 throws blenders and plays guitar. Sibling 2 is allergic to everything and is into magic. Sibling 3 is a varsity swimmer with a group of female fans. Enough said.

The only thing they have in common is their biological father, and the only thing they can agree on is that they all want to meet him.

My thoughts:
After reading the blurb I was hoping for a deep emotional read but what I found was cheesy childish attitudes it felt like. The siblings seemed way more immature than I expected them to be.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

3.5 stars. A road trip with 3 siblings searching for their biological father was the premise that drew me in. I was excited about their family dynamics and the whole donor aspect. Overall the road trip was filled with wild adventures which will entertain the YA audience.

I really enjoyed this. It felt extremely relatable to me especially since I have also been trying to figure out who my dad is. KT is a bright, gifted person and the main protagonist. She and 2 other friends are trying to find out who their biological fathers are. It's filled with a lot of teen drama, but that's typical for a YA read. I found it a delight.

#806novel #NetGalley

Three siblings go on a road trip to find out who their father is. All they know is 806 is the number of the sperm donor.

Well I was sucked in at road trip.

I enjoyed this quick journey as the siblings get to know each other and I enjoyed joining in on their quest. I won't give away if they found out dad's identity or not, you'll have to read to find out.

A really entertaining book!

My thanks to Netgalley for the complimentary book in exchange for an honest review.

I love a coming to age story, but this one wasn’t my favorite one. This story is about 3 teens looking for their biological father. During their search the character development would have been appreciated, but luckily the author just chose to make everything jus a bunch of exaggerated teen drama. Maybe his is a sight that I’ve outgrown YA drama

I really enjoyed this book! It was totally different from anything I'd read before. I loved the banter, the bond as the siblings spent more time with each other, and as they found their father. A really lovely read that I would highly recommend!

I unfortunately was not able to read and review this book before the digital ecopy expired. The synopsis sounds great though, so I will be buying a copy of my own to read soon!

This honestly feels like a book i’ve read plenty of times before. Although I can see this book being impactful for those who aren’t biologically related to their families, It just felt like a story i’ve already read.

This YA story is about 3 half siblings, high schoolers, taking a road trip to find their sperm donor father. While the adventures were unrealistic and a bit 'out there', it was entertaining and, at times, witty. I was not thrilled with the characters, although the message for YA is positive. You shouldn't judge others. This is a quick, easy read. The character development is shallow. The story focuses on the search and the journey. Thank you, Netgalley, for this read. 3 Stars

I've read siblings stories where the plot leads them to a parent they want to find. The premise of this seemed to be that their differences would bring them together for one common goal. Overall, it was too cliche.

I liked this book a lot. It's a YA about sperm donor "children" (teenagers) connecting and trying to find out more about their dad. It's a positive story which doesn't need bad language to get across serious or disappointing feelings. Recommended.
