This book is about a one night stand that turns out to be a case of mistaken identity gone wrong. Sarah comes from money and David is a small time winery owner. Sarah is not trusting and no matter how hard she tries to impress her father with his wine business she never does. She decides to order some company one night and in error ends up in bed with David. Will they figure this one out and get more than just one taste? Definitely had fun reading this one.
When Sarah, a rich, powerful heiress hires an escort for the night and has a steamy encounter with him, she's not expecting to connect with him on more than a physical level. What is even more unexpected is finding out the sexy David isn't the escort she had hired, but a vineyard owner who had come to see her hoping to talk her into stocking his wine at her hotels. Despite their sizzling connection, Sarah refuses to believe that David hadn't taken advantage of her mistaking his identity, and she leaves him. And therein lies my biggest, only, problem with Just One Taste, Sarah is really unlikable in the most obvious of ways. She makes David pay for all her sleazy exes' bad behavior, and never really grovels enough for my tastes. Despite David being the sweetest guy, the most honest guy, she still draws upon all her past exes' behavior and refuses to trust him until the very end. And even then, he's the one who has to make the grand gesture, when it should have been Sarah who groveled, who kissed his feet in apology, because she's the one who left, she's the one who hurt David, not the other way around.
I will say that there are some really hot scenes, and they went a little way in making Just One Taste slightly palatable, but if David hadn't been the amazing hero he is, I would have 1 starred this for sure because Sarah is that unlikable a character. Sorry, but if I am reading about a sweet, sexy, adoring hero, I want the woman he falls for to be equally as amazing as he is. I didn't get that here in Just One Taste, hence the 2 stars.
So I liked this book for it's hotness but the story was just a little to far fetched for me. Sarah is at a bar waiting for David a male escort she paid for. at the same time another David shows up at the same bar wanting to have a meeting with Sarah about his vineyard. Sarah mistakes him for the other David and before he knows it he is sleeping with her no questions asked. I just found this to be a little out there. then after spending a few days together they are madly in love. like I said the hotness was off the charts but the story was not good.
This was so much fun! A one night stand that turns out to be a case of mistaken identity gone wrong. Oh my goodness, could it get any better than that? Sarah comes from money and because of that does not know how to trust and knows no matter what decision she makes her father will never approve of her decisions. David is a small time winery owner and a gentleman, a true gentleman. Will they figure this one out and get more than just one taste? Definitely had fun reading this one. It is a page turner and a fast one.
**Received this ARC for review from the publisher via NetGalley**
I wasn't a big fan of this, which surprised me because I usually enjoy books like this.
A case of mistaken identity that will be more than either Sarah or David bargained for and will leave just as many questions. I really enjoyed this story, I loved the character interaction and the real issues. I will recommend this book to readers
I received a ARC copy of this book for my honest review
Just one taste is a book about one night stand of mistake
Sarah come from money, she works for her dad . She has no social life , she hires a escort but then David comes
David can’t believe his luck when Sarah throws herself at him. He get more than he bargained for
Won’t ruin anything for you guys
when sarah harrington gets stood up in just one taste by the escort she hired for the evening, a man she only knows as david, she is beyond humiliated. she's just so sick of being alone. but the whole scheme makes her feel worse instead of better. the only highlight of the evening, was the wine she enjoyed at the bar.
that wine just so happens to be the product of david gennaro's winery. he wants a chance of the distribution lines sarah's company can provide, so when his bartender friend lets him know that sarah happens to be drinking his wine at the bar, he decides to take a chance and talk to her. he has no idea that she's expecting to meet someone else by the name of david.
this david is charming and hot and apologetic. so sarah gives him a chance. reading their exchanges during this scene is really entertaining, because sarah expects sex, because basically, she paid for it. and david is trying to be professional but realizes he's getting lucky. and he's incredibly turned on by the whole thing and so confused and overcome with lust and worried too, about the implications of sleeping with the woman he wants to do business with. and that night they share is amazing. so it's not a surprise that she feels betrayed when she realizes that the david she slept with is not the one she was expecting. and when she learns who he is, her past experience has taught her that she's just being taken advantage of.
but david is not that guy. he's sweet and kind and so giving. he's not afraid of giving sarah power in their relationship and there is something so appealing about that. over and over again he lets her have the upper hand, because how he feels about her is more important than his pride. sarah's insecurities are also handled in a way that makes her sympathetic. she's is so conflicted in her uncertainty. she appreciates david's ability to open up, and she does her best to reciprocate. even though she can't help her caution.
this was a delightful, steamy, quick read. i highly recommend it if you need a quick escape into happy fiction.
A case of mistaken identity creates some definite potential for problems. Sarah hasn't had the best track record with men. When she "hires" David to release some pent up steam she doesn't expect someone else to turn up. They come together with smoking chemistry. But neither is expecting the connection. Taking trust issues, disparate backgrounds and fears creates friction that David and Sarah have to determine if they are willing to go all in. This is a quick, definitely steamy read.
a good solid hot romance with an interesting storyline. Thanks
This is a romance with heart! It’s a sexy, swoony, emotional and definitely a top favourite. I absolutely loved this book and would wholeheartedly recommend
Short and sweet; Just One Taste is a delicious way to pass a lazy Sunday.
Just One Taste by Sami Lee while a lovely light, and easy read, still grabs your attention and doesn’t let go. This story is strictly a romance with the relationship development between Sarah and David front and centre from the very first chapter.
The feel of this book harks back to the late 90’s and early 00’s where romances were often just that. Today, you usually expect some sort of suspense theme or dramatic angst to occur; it was refreshing to not have any of that. It was simply a matter of character development, not to say that nothing happened, but the drama wasn’t the focus, the characters were.
I really enjoyed Sami Lee’s writing style. She was able to capture the reader’s attention, not through intense action or drama, but simply through normal human interactions. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I will be looking at other titles by this author.

Just One Taste is a story about a one night stand of mistaken identity, evolving to much more. Sarah comes from money. She works for her dad, she has little to no social life, so she hires an escort of sorts to scratch an itch. When David shows up to meet her, he is not the David she hired. She ends up sleeping with David who wants to venture into a business proposition with her and her father.
David can not believe his luck when beautiful Sarah all but throws herself at him. He was not expecting anything. Heck, he was nervous just talking to her. He gets a lot more then he bargained for.
What happens after is a love story that is a little backwards and not ideal, but it works for David and Sarah. Proving money doesn't buy happiness, but love actually does!
I received an ARC of this book. The book just seemed To lack depth. Not much backstory in beginning so it was hard to connect with the characters and get into the book.
A perfect companion for a weekend spent curled up on the couch.
